Nairaland GeneralMy Goal Was To Make 'a's In All My Courses - UNIZIK Best Graduand by Frankdotcom(op): 3:50pm On Mar 19, 2017
By Franklin Onwubiko

Success is the result of perfection, hard work, learning from failure, loyalty and persistence.

This definition best describes the story of Mr. Ikenna Henry Ozofor, the first Class graduate of Chemical Engineering and overall best graduating student from the Nnamdi Azikiwe University Awka for the 2015/2016 academic session.

Mr. Ozofor struck a near perfect cumulative grade point of 4.85 to emerge the overall Best graduating student of the varsity.

In an interview with franklinonwubiko.com, the Chemical Engineer disclosed that the journey to achieving such laudable feat was not a rosy one but he kept faith. According to him, he never doubted his abilities to achieving greatness. "I was convinced I had what it takes to be the best and always tried to give my best in whatever I did. Never doubted my abilities", he said.

Shockingly, Ikenna revealed that he never subscribed to long hours of reading but maximized the little time he engaged in reading and was consistent.
Hear him, "I am the type that doesn't read for long. My average reading duration was 4 hours but I was quite consistent in it". On how he was able to structure his daily routine while in school, the "Demgramite" (Old boy of Dennis Memorial Grammar School, Onitsha) stated, I wake on a regular day, prepare and go for lectures. When I return from lecture, I eat and sleep for about 5hrs, wake up and prepare for night class".

Unlike most first Class graduates who shunned social activities while in school, Ikenna engaged in these activities, in fact he could boast to have enjoyed school life. "Mine was different as I was socially conscious and participative. I attended most social functions during my first three years in school. Let me make it clear that I always start studying once the semester starts and before the period for social activities I would be almost through with the course outline", Ozofor disclosed.

Delivering the valedictory speech on behalf of 2015/2016 graduands of Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka at the 11th convocation ceremony of the university held on Thursday, Ozofor expressed his unreserved gratitude to the Almighty God, the giver of life and pilot of success, whose love and mercy had seen them through the citadel of learning.

In his words, "My academic path has been decorated with God's special grace and providence as I enjoyed sound elementary and secondary education at Adonai Foundation School and Dennis Memorial Grammar School respectively, both in Onitsha, Anambra State."

"Having graduated with flying colours from DMGS and met the necessary requirement set by JAMB and the University Senate, I was admitted to study Chemical Engineering in this Institute of repute, the abode where giants are trained and nurtured."

"As demanded by it's worth, everything about UNIZIK will surely require that tenacity of purpose from the students ranging from the physical clearance during admission through final clearance prior to NYSC."

"I entered the University with little expectation. I did not even know what GP meant nor what first Class was. My priority then was to make sure I made 'A's in all the courses I took. The above goal demanded much sacrifice which I tried meeting through committed and consistent study."

"It was indeed five years of serious mission as there were times of ups and downs, but God's grace saw me through all the challenges and made me the best. I will not like to bore you with further stories. I am sure each and everyone of the graduands has their own stories."

"To my lovely and caring parents, Mr. and Mrs B. I. Ozofor, and the parents of other graduands, your labour of many years is yielding the desired fruits, may God bless you and keep you alive for us."

"To ABC Transport Company, Shell Petroleum Development Company, Chevron Agbami JV, and Allied Energy, your scholarships took care of the financial burdens during my undergraduate study. To these and some other scholarship bodies that provided assistance to some of the graduands, our promise is that your investment will not be in vain."

"Ladies and gentlemen, It is with unalloyed humility that I present to you great ladies and men of valor and integrity , whose tenacity of purpose won us the privilege of being the celebrants of today's ceremony comprising graduands trained, nurtured and groomed for excellence."

"May I clearly state that I am convinced that the 2016 Unizik graduands have the solutions to various issues that have battled Nigeria from blazing the trail as true giants of Africa and even beyond. This said, we are quite aware that Nigerians do not expect anything less from us, and by God's grace we shall not disappoint."

Advising other undergraduates, Ozofor said, "Pray to discover yourself and what works for you, put in the required effort and God's grace will perfect things for you. As posited by Colin Powell, there are no secrets to success. It is the result of preparation, hard work, and learning from failure. Don't give up!"

"In conclusion, here are graduands who have not just imbibed the qualities of discipline, self reliance and excellence but have also proved responsive and competent in task-tackling and mission accomplishment as evident in the recorded successes we made both in written, analytical and practical assessment we have been subjected to.That stated, I strongly recommend us for any job, task, function or mission where responsible and astute approach are required."

"We thank God, the University and our Teachers for allowing us pass through this University of all times", he concluded.

Nairaland GeneralReview NYSC To Reflect Entrepreneur And Job Creating Scheschescheme - Ubah by Frankdotcom(op): 6:10pm On Feb 21, 2017
Dr Patrick Ifeanyi Ubah has called for the review of NYSC in order for it to become a job creating platform as against what the scheme offers now .

Ubah who while speaking at Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka at an event organized by Nigeria Economics Students Association ,(NESA),UNIZIK Chapter, called for the review of National Youth Service Corp (NYSC) Scheme from what it represents now to a scheme capable of solving Nigerian employment crisis .

The Anambra State born Entrepreneur Dr Patrick Ifeanyi Ubah who was represented by his SSA Media, Ikechukwu Emeka Onyia advocate for new direction with respect to the NYSC Scheme while speaking on the topic " Entrepreneurship and Nigerian Youths : Ifeanyi Ubah Experience and Lesson ".

According to the MD Capital Oil and Gas , " NYSC is a scheme introduced by Federal Government as Interventionist Policy immediately after the civil war as an integration scheme and not for job creation.

But now , the greatest crisis facing Nigeria is that of unemployment and the development calls for the review of NYSC Scheme to reflect job creation .
The scheme founded in 70s is over 40years old and therefore begging for a review " he said .

Ubah went on to back his call for review of NYSC with below analysis ,
" Today , Federal Government pays each Corp member under NYSC Scheme N19,800 (Nineteen thousand Eight hundred naira ) per month and that gives us N237,600 per year and when you factor in other expenses that emanates from camping ,you will be having about N300,000  for each corp member per year .

Federal Government Mobilizes 150,000 graduates every year for NYSC . Let's use 150,000 graduates here .

If in a year , Federal Government mobilizes 150,000 graduates for NYSC and spends around three hundred naira (N300,000) on each of them , this amounts to N45 Billion (Forty Five Billion Naira ) per annum ".

The man many call ideas bearer went on to argue
" we can review the scheme and make our graduates go through various skill acquisition training upon graduation and N300,000 handed to them by Federal Government to establish the Entrepreneurship that he or she might have learned . We can hand over this three hundred thousands naira (N300,000) to our graduates after they must have passed through one three weeks or say one month Entrepreneurship or skill acquisition training as a seed or start up capital. " Ubah argued.

He further argue , "Yes , we can adjust the 12 months service year to three weeks or one month which will be use for the training of these graduates towards self reliance.

According to him , " what is the gain of spending N45 Billion on our graduates after which you push them to unemployment market ? Is it not better we train them and hand each of them the three hundred thousands naira ( N300,000 ) as a seed ?
Some of them can even use their own seed money to go into cooperative groups among themselves towards setting up various businesses upon graduation and by so doing , we will be creating job creators instead of Job seekers" he said.

Ubah challenged the students to redirect the conversation towards providing solutions to the challenges blighting the Nation as the country is faced with multiple economic shocks.

" You must start raising agenda for the policy makers of this Nation. Creating solution is what makes an Entrepreneur tick and you must rise to the occasion especially now that our Nation faces multiple economic shocks." he said.

" Good enough, there is hope because you are here today in this hall as  stakeholders in this great search for solutions ".

Ubah later called on the government to redirect its focus in creating enabling environment for Entrepreneurship to thrive in Nigeria.

"The truth is that Govt cannot do this alone and there is need for Government at all levels to start creating enabling environment through Public Policies that will stimulate entrepreneurial growth in the country in order to forestall recurring economic crisis in the country ".

Prof. Nwogwugwu of Economics Department, University Nnamdi Azikiwe University toed the line of Dr. Patrick Ifeanyi Ubah when he told the students that they must start thinking as job creators " You are here to learn how to solve problems facing our Nation and not to create one " he said.

Students later threw questions to Ubah who graciously responded .

NYSCCorps Member Carries Out Free Genotype Tests For College Students by Frankdotcom(op): 6:07am On Feb 09, 2017
It was a great day of joy and thanks for the students of College of Health technology, Daura, Katsina State as a serving Corps member, Mr. Christopher Nkemdirim organized a sickle cell awareness campaign and free genotype tests for students of the college.

According to Christopher, a 2016 batch A corps member and serving in the college, the awareness campaign stems from prevailing spread of the disorder as most intending couples in the North do not see the need for genotype tests before proceeding to marriage and as such risk giving birth to children who could unfortunately be carriers of the disease.

He asserted that many innocent lives have been lost and most marriages broken while some are on the verge of collapse simply because of ignorance on the part of couples and intending couples.

According to the graduate of Human Physiology from Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University, the awareness became a burden to him hence his aligning with the core mandate which the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) programme was established, which is raising selfless youths who would make impacts in their various communities of postings.

Delivering the seminar, the guest speaker, Dr. Mashud Hadi Gwadabe stressed the need for people to acquaint themselves with their genotype.

According to Dr. Mashud, sickle cell disease is inherited, which means it is passed from parent to child. "To get sickle cell disease, a child has to inherit two sickle cell genes-one from each parent. When a child inherits the gene from just one parent, that child has sickle cell trait. Having this trait means that you don't have the disease but you are a carrier and could pass the gene on to your children", he stated.

Also speaking at the event, a laboratory scientist, Mr. Emma Abia urged the students to spread the awareness campaign to their friends and family explaining the need for knowing one's genotype. According to him, genotype tests should be a prerequisite before accepting a man's proposal or vice versa.

Earlier in his remarks, the Director of the College expressed his happiness over the awareness campaign which he described as a welcome development. He commended the facilitator for such a laudable initiative.

High point of the occasion was the free genotype test for the students.

You can't grow a commercial activities in any territory where the traders or investors are not making profit . However, attracting business to the state is not enough, but making Policies that will reduce the cost of doing business in the state and create profit margin that will encourage business expansion which will in turn aid our economic recovery"

Without creating road map for commercial activities ,we will remain stagnant economically". Ubah said .

" We are the only black race that can mimick the Chinese style of doing business, but unfortunately our business players do not get government support like that of their Chinese counterparts. If I have the opportunity to govern Anambra state, I will not just replicate but internalize the Chinese model of commerce here in Anambra state " he said .

A research has revealed that he is the fastest growing entrepreneur in Nigeria as a matter of fact. The parameter used in reaching this conclusion include his accomplishments with little or no government patronage, partnerships with other international corporate bodies, previous projects, completed and future projects, as well as the dominance of his enterprises all over the country.
The accomplished entrepreneur is famed for being one of the pioneering investors in the telecommunication industry as he owned the defunct Cellcom telecommunication land line which was later sold off to Visaphone. Currently, he is the CEO/Executive Chairman of the Chelsea Group Ltd, a Nigerian multinational conglomerate company with interests in Hospitality, Construction, Real Estate, Power, Oil & Gas, Education and Agriculture. Nairaland GeneralEven God Has A Sense Of Humour- Comedian Prince Neche by Frankdotcom(op): 6:37pm On Dec 13, 2016
Fast rising stand up comedian and compere, Prince Neche has reacted to the controversial post against pastors who invite comedians to church gatherings.

The reaction came after the recent blast from Popular Nigerian dramatist and founder of Mount Zion Drama Ministry, Mike Bamiloye, who spoke against Nigerian clergies who invite comedians to perform at their church events.

Mr. Bamiloye, who is also the president, Mount Zion Faith Ministries, tackled the controversial topic in a lengthy post on his official YouTube page on Monday.

Prince Neche reacted stating that even God has sense of humour. Read his post below:

"I woke up this morning to a story on a blog where a Popular Nigerian pastor allegedly questioned the righteousness in inviting comedians to church events and sincerely speaking, here is my thought on the matter.

Firstly, when the Bible said man was created in the image of God, I like to think that that image is more on the inner abilities and potentials than on the physical appearance (i might be wrong) but if I am right, it means that if I have a sense of Humour, then God himself has a sense of Humour. So, laughter, happiness and Joy should be a core thing in the house of God.
Listen, I don't know if its right or wrong to invite comedians to church, but I know a lot of people come to church with a level of heaviness in their heart that no activity in church interests them. What do you say about such people. Come to church heavy and go back heavy. Of course if one should come to church heavy hearted and goes home relieved because of a comedian that ministered in church then that's surely a plus and a step in the right direction.

Secondly, Do you know that comedy is a gift? Its a talent. And I also know that "all good and perfect gift comes from God" and remember the story of the talent in the bible. If you fail to use it, it will be taken away from you and given to someone who has used his its maximum. And yes, I know you will say that there are other places you can use your talent apart from the Church, but I say, if every talent comes from God, what better way to use the talent than to the glory of him who gave the talent?

I recognize also, that the major problem is that generally, comedians are seen as vulgar and mundane with no contribution whatsoever to spiritual upliftment, but permit me to say that THAT IS NOT TOTALLY TRUE. There are comedians who are born again, spirit filled, tongue talking and upright and trust me, if the church reject them, the devil will gladly make use of the opportunity.

Finally, I think the mistake of the church over the years is that they have used spirituality to quietly send the youth (who are supposed to be the future of the church) into the hands of the devil. I stand corrected but over the years, when you hear most secular artistes talk, they almost never forget to mention that they started from the church and gradually went outside the church in search of bigger platforms with which to maximize their talents and express themselves. Same is applicable to comedians.

Not Every comedian is comfortable performing in clubs and Bush bars, some of us wants to bring it home to the house of our father where joy and happiness flow, where mercy and grace abound. I also know there are comedians who abuse the privileged of performing in church and say things that shouldn't be said in Church, but that doesn't make it wrong to invite comedians to church.

The Final Finally, The solution doesn't rest in stopping comedians from performing in church, but in carefully choosing who to invite to church. I say it again, "what better way to use your talent than to the glory of him that gave the talent"
The devil has gained much from the complacency and negligence of the church toward Christians with special grace and talents, and its high time we do something about it, but then again what do I know. I could be totally wrong."

TravelWhere Is My Luggage? -arik's Airline Passenger Cries Out by Frankdotcom(op): 8:37am On Dec 05, 2016
I was selected for the President Obama’s YALI Leadership Training scheduled to hold November 6th- December 9th 2016 at the Regional Leadership Centre in Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA) Accra, Ghana.
The organizers booked an Arik flight and my itinerary read,
Benin City Airport (BNI) – Muritala Muhammad International Airport, Lagos (LOS) 11:30am-12:30pm, Sunday November 6th

Muritala Muhammad International Airport (LOS)- Kotoka International Airport Accra ( ACC) 5:15pm ( Nigerian Time ) – 5:15pm (Ghana Time), Sunday November 6th 2016.

On Sunday November 6th, I went to Benin Airport with a brown coloured /Cream Coloured luggage and a hand luggage containing my laptop and travelling documents..
At the point of Check in BNI, the officials couldn’t print a luggage tag for me which weighed about 14 kg. They however took a sticky paper and wrote BNI-LOS, 18 Delta and attached it to the arm of the luggage and my boarding pass was given to me. After passing through the airport screening, I proceeded to the departure hall to wait for my flight.
At 11:15am, our flight to Lagos was announced and I went to board. Passengers on the Lagos bound flight W3 621 were asked to identify their luggage before entering the plane. I noticed my luggage was not among the ones they assembled. We searched the airport and the luggage of Passengers waiting to board Air Peace but it was not among them.
Meanwhile, while we were waiting for the Lagos Flight, An Arik flight to Abuja boarded and took off.
I was told to go to Lagos and complain when I arrive. They told me the luggage was mistakenly misrouted through the Abuja bound flight. Initially, I resisted going to Lagos and demanded that my luggage be provided before I leave Benin Airport.
While all these were going on, the flight was ready to take off. In fact the door was locked against me because I was delaying the flight which was supposed to leave by 11:30am. The flight ended up leaving at 11:52am.
On landing in Lagos, I laid a complaint at the baggage service. They called Abuja airport who confirmed that they are in possession of the luggage. ABJ was thereafter instructed to send the luggage through the 3:00pm flight to Lagos. The officials also assured me that when the luggage arrives the domestic wing, they will facilitate its movement to the international wing so I can get it before joining the connecting flight to Accra by 5:15pm.
I proceeded to the International wing of Lagos Airport and also complained. At the point of check in, the officials, also assured me that I will get my luggage before leaving Lagos. By 4pm, I called to inquire the status of the luggage and was informed that the Abuja flight was delayed. .
At 4:45pm , I called again and was told the flight was yet to leave Abuja.
The officials at Lagos, told me to proceed to board the Accra fight that they will send the luggage to Accra when it arrives in Lagos.
I proceeded to board the Flight W3 305 and left Nigeria around 5:26pm.
Upon arrival at Kotoka International Airport Accra, I complained at the baggage claim centre and the officials took the necessary details. I was told to check at the airport by 8:30pm when the last flight from Lagos arrives.
At 8:45 pm, I went to the airport and the luggage didn’t arrive. The official at the baggage service sent a mail to Lagos that night to put the luggage in the first flight for Monday November 7th.
The next day, I was at the airport as early as 7am, awaiting the arrival of the luggage, But it still didn’t come. I proceeded to Arik office in Kotoka Airport Ghana and while laying my complaint, the staff didn’t take me serious. Their attitude was nauseating, They were busy playing music , gisting and the person who was supposed to attend to me was busy chatting on whatsapp while I was talking to him. At that point, I was forced to shout on him and asked ‘ Sir , could it be because I am not in my country, that’s making you attend to me like this, or is this how Arik staff attend to customers? My shouting attracted Security officials who then calmed me down. One Mr David (Arik Air staff) thereafter took out time to listen to me. He called Abuja and Lagos Airport immediately to inquire the status of the lugagge. Abuja confirmed that they received the luggage but sent it to Lagos. The official at Lagos , One Mr Wasiu said he will contact the domestic wing of Lagos airport to inquire the status of the luggae.
That was how it ended that day. Mr Wasiu didn’t call back and he didn’t pick calls to his phone..

On Tuesday, November 8th, I also went to the airport to check the status of the luggage. The officials in Ghana called Lagos and they could not account for the luggage. At that point, it dawned on me that my luggage was nowhere to be found and might not be coming to Accra.
It’s been over 4 weeks now and as at the last time I checked at the airport, My luggage has still not arrived.

The non-arrival of my luggage for the training rendered me disorganized for over 4 weeks the training lasted.
For an airline that brags as West Africa and Nigeria’s largest airline, what does it take to transport a luggage from Lagos to Accra, a journey that is barely one hour? I am thoroughly convinced that Arik Air is inefficient with no respect for the wellbeing of their customers. I demand that my luggage be produced now because I won’t keep quiet until I get it.
Arik air, WHERE IS MY LUGGAGEhuh

Nairaland GeneralHow Buhari Can Crash The Dollar/naira Disparity - Ifeanyi Ubah by Frankdotcom(op): 5:11pm On Nov 01, 2016
Nnewi-born billionaire and Managing Director of Capital Oil and Gas, Dr. Ifeanyi Ubah, has offered the President Muhammadu Buhari-led administration what he described as the solution to the biting recession, as well as crash the proliferating Dollar/Naira disparity in the foreign exchange market.

Speaking at the World Youth Gathering, Holy Ghost Adoration Ground, Uke in Idemili North Local Government Area of Anambra State, Ubah lamented, stating that there was nothing wrong with the Nigerian economy. Rather, he pointed out the country's lack of good economic managers as being responsible for the current economic plight.

Recall that last February, Ubah had vowed on national television that if consulted by President Buhari, he could use his technical know-how to stabilize the Naira to an exchange rate of N200=$1.

At the time, the Dollar/Naira disparity had skyrocketed that N400 was already exchanging for $1 in the Parallel market.

Insisting on his earlier stance of possessing the technical expertise on how the Dollar/Naira disparity can be crashed, Dr. Ubah pointed that "the only solution to Nigeria's economic problems is one - addressing the cancer that has persistently eaten up our Forex. According to him, the cancer responsible for the proliferating Dollar/Naira disparity can be eliminated if 10 modular refineries are set up. "The second cancer that is affecting us is the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC)." Ubah stated.

The oil magnate stated at the Adoration Ground in Uke, "I said that I am going to bring down the dollars, I sought for consultations because in the past I have done so many things and at the end of the day, people took the glory. This is an issue that is very important to me. The Government must understand this. Bill Gates, one of the richest men in the World today said, 'it's not about academics, it's about being streetwise."

"Money-making is an art. There is nobody that can't make money. It depends on how you design the art of making money. Now, let me give you an example today and let me also proffer a solution to Nigeria's economic problems.

"The biggest Forex consumer in Nigeria today is the Petroleum Product Downstream sector, of which I am the leader. Petroleum products take over 75 per cent of the Forex that Nigeria generates. Therefore, if you want to attack the difference between the Naira and the Dollar, which no expert has been able to find a solution, what you need to do is to find an alternative, so that the demand for Forex needed for the importation of petroleum products will crash.

"If you do that, you have taken away 75 percent of that cancer that is taking away our dollars. And how do you do this? There's what is called top-up refineries. Some top-up refineries can cost us as little as $200million.

"If I am the Chief Economist of this country, and I want to bring back the value of Naira and bring life back to the economy of Nigeria, what I need to do is to take up a $2 billion bond from our reserve. If I am able to take a bond of $2billion from our reserve, which is not money I am spending, but a bond, our money remains. I can take this $2billion and then share it among 10 companies. In those 10 companies, I will create Special Purpose Vehicles (SPVs) of 10 oil marketers to one company.

"If you bring 10 oil marketers to run one company and Government funds them for 10 years, it means that all of us will go there and we will bring the best of us to manage the company.

"Therefore, what we are going to do is create 10 companies along the whole water lines of Nigeria, and in six months time, we can now refine our crude oil here in Nigeria, instead of taking it abroad to refine. By so doing, we don't need to buy dollars anymore to import petroleum products. It means that we can now be refining our crude oil, using it to meet our own petroleum needs.

"Petroleum product is one of the biggest factor today in this country. Without fuel, nobody can drive to Uke today. If students go on strike, Government may show neglect. If doctors go on strike, Government may neglect. But once there is a strike over fuel, the Government will always run to see how it will stop the strike."

According to the Publisher of Authority Newspapers, "We must understand that fuel is a critical factor in Nigeria. Because it's a critical factor in Nigeria today, Government is so fragile towards challenging the petroleum industry. This is very important and whoever the Chief Economist of Nigeria is, he/she must take this as the only solution. There is no other solution".

"This solution is coming today at the Adoration Ground and this is the first time I am saying it. That is the secret that I said I needed them (government) to consult me. But today, if they can translate it, they will know that Holy Ghost of Adoration Ground has revealed it."

The President FC Ifeanyi Ubah said, "The only solution to Nigeria's economic problems is one - addressing the cancer that eats up our Forex and setting up 10 modular refineries can solve that problem. The second cancer that is affecting us is the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

"The duty of EFCC is to look into financial crimes. The duty of EFCC is to look into those that have taken so many waivers. So many people in Nigeria today are big men because they are enjoying government waivers. Majority of Nigeria's big men are lazy people. They always find a way to take waivers.

"The EFCC must come to terms with their duty and create a real economic crime desk. If the EFCC can look into every importer accessing dollars and what our dollars are being used for. If the EFCC can create an economic code that everybody that must use to access dollars making it mandatory that every bid should be made through the EFCC, if everybody is made to sign a guarantee that the government can look into whatever he/she has bid and monitor the use of the money, those that are milking Nigeria's dollars will run away.

"The EFCC must stop the pursuit of only past leaders. Not that they should not do their job by going after past leaders, but they need to look into the amount of Nigerians that are taking waivers, they need to look at the number of people accessing dollars for agricultural contents who divert the same dollars to Dubai and then bring the dollar back into the country to make money without doing anything.

Nairaland GeneralIfeanyi Ubah Fc Vs West Ham United: When Two Bulls Meet by Frankdotcom(op): 6:56am On Oct 06, 2016
By Franklin Onwubiko

History is being set today somewhere in Lagos State Nigeria as the fastest rising club side in the Nigeria Premiership Football League, FC Ifeanyi Ubah is hosting the prestigious London based partners, the West Ham United FC.

This great partnership between FCIU and West Ham United is a step in the right direction set to place the privately owned club side on a higher pedestal in her quest to becoming a continental name as far as the round leather game is concerned.

This particular partnership has set in motion a paradigm shift in the Nigerian sports sector especially where it concerns football. This would not have been possible except for the foresightedness of a man who has transcended all barriers in not just identifying his passion but also living it to the fullest.

Top executives at West Ham United led by the Managing Director, Angus Kinnear and President of FC Ifeanyi Ubah, Dr. Patrick Ifeanyi Ubah will today Wednesday, unveil the blueprint that will streamline the hunt for the next Nigerian superstar after the likes of the celebrated football icons like Maradona, Pele, Lionel Messi, Christiano Ronaldo amongst numerous others.

The project which has been designed to identify and nurture talented Nigerian kids within the age range of 6 and 15 years, is billed to kick off in December with coaches and scouts of West Ham United in regular attendance to offer technical support throughout the duration of the project.

The successful kids will further be enrolled into the prestigious Ifeanyi Ubah football academy; this is geared towards harnessing their talents, hence providing a handful of talented players for West Ham United to pick from quarterly.

Earlier in August, FC Ifeanyi Ubah signed a long term partnership with West Ham United with a view of championing a good number of football-related projects.

Speaking to newsmen at the weekend in Lagos, Dr. Ubah explained the aim of the ‘Talent Hunt Programme’ and how that will metamorphose to a football Academy run by both West Ham United FC and FC Ifeanyi Ubah.

According to Dr. Ubah, the unveiling of the historic partnership is premised on football development with the discovery of future football stars in a country so rich in football talents waiting to be harnessed top on the priority list.

In his words, "West Ham are known to have one of the best academies in the world having produced players like Sir Trevor Brooking, Frank Lampard, Rio Ferdinand, Michael Carrick to mention but a few and they are eager to identify and handpick talented African players that they can develop. The search for the next Lampard, Payet, Kanu and Okocha just begun and we believe this talent hunt will help us achieve our goal”.

It is expected that more details on the next level of the collaboration between FC Ifeanyi Ubah and West Ham FC will be unveiled today in Lagos and tomorrow in Nnewi, the hometown of the oil mogul.

It will not be long before Nigeria will return to her glorious days in football which is unarguably a viable and money spinning sector today if well harnessed. Thanks to the foresightedness and pragmatic approach to issues by the CEO Capital Oil and Gas, Dr. Ubah whose ingenuity as it concerns sports development in Nigeria and Africa is unparalleled. Indigenes of Anambra state which is the home state of this change agent and the primary benefactors of his change initiative should brace up and key into the vision of this great man.

It is no news that the spirit of oneness and happiness which the game of football breathes is gradually creeping into the state as has been witnessed in the home games of FCIU. The massive games village currently under construction has even before completion turned to a tourist site as the place becomes over crowded during the home matches of the fast rising NPFL side.

Parents should encourage their talented wards to key into this life changing opportunity this historic partnership breeds.

Nairaland GeneralNYSC Slashes Number Of Batch B 2016 Prospective Corps Members by Frankdotcom(op): 6:19am On Oct 06, 2016
So mobilization for the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) programme is now by balloting?

A circular has been making the rounds that the NYSC directorate headquarters, Abuja has greatly slashed the number of corps members from institutions going for the service Batch B 2016.

A circular  from one of the institutions has it that the number required of the institution was slashed from 2,314 to only 894.

According to them, this is due to tight budgetary allocation of the scheme.

The implication  of this is that most graduates will now have to spend greater number of years at home pending when their names falls into the ballot scheme.

Is it not about time this scheme is reviewed?

Read Details below:

THANKS BE TO GOD

Dear friends, thank you so much for your solidarity, goodwill messages, calls and most importantly your prayers. I am very much stable, hale and hearty.

Our Lord did the greatest miracle for me: I was shot in the head through the side window of the drivers side by Fulani hoodlums along Obimo in Uzo-Uwani, near Nimbo both in Enugu state. The pellets stopped few inches to my brain/skull, and left orbit and ear.

It could have been the end but GOD
SAID IT'S NOT YET TIME. However, I still have some pellets in my face.

Finally continue to pray for Fr Emmanuel Dim who was abducted. Also Fr Prof Ezeokana is recovering from burns.
