Former governor of Anambra State, Dr. Chukwuemeka Ezeife, has said injustice against South East zone can make Igbo republic possible.
Ezeife said there are more indications of discrimination and inequities against the South East geo-political zone even without mentioning Python Dance or the whereabouts of the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu.
Ezeife warned that if the present administration fails to correct the wrongs against the South East zone, then, Biafra may become an inevitability, if the Igbo are pushed to the frustrating point of asking the question, ‘what is life worth?
He made the remarks at the weekend, while speaking on the topic: “Political discrimination and inequity issues in national development,” at a seminar organised by the Diocese on the Niger, Anglican Communion. He said among the six major protocol offices in government (President, Vice President, Senate President, Chief Justice, Speaker and Secretary to Government), none is held by a person from the Southeast, just as nobody from the zone attends the National Security Council (NSC) meeting.
He prayed that God should plant in the mind of President Muhammadu Buhari, the idea of emergency restructuring of the country, stressing that it is the surest way to keep Nigeria one.
“How do we, from the South East zone, react to the president’s declaration for second term? Do we join the heavy political noise against it? I really doubt if the idea of
second term came from the president. Even if he has it in mind, the most promising and effective action to take is to run to God.”
“The Bible says ‘the heart of a king is in the hands of God’. Let us pray God to manage or manipulate the heart of Buhari to realise the unreasonableness and dangers of this second term. Let Buhari’s mind, resolutely, reject that idea. But, we should remember that God allowed Buhari to take over the presidency of Nigeria.
“Buhari should convene a well constituted emergency sovereign body, with all necessary powers, including the power to take necessary actions, should he run out of time on the basis of the present time table or arrangements. The raw materials for the body are down and, seriously, we don’t need more than six months to accomplish the task,” he said.
Ezeife said restructuring is the enduring and effective solution to rampant political discrimination.
“Restructuring takes persecution power from the centre. Each region cares for her people’s interest, so, exposure to the whims and caprice of the central authority is greatly reduced.
“Should Buhari urgently and effectively restructure the country, his name will be indelible in the story of Nigeria, and all future generations will be singing his praise,” Ezeife said.
Meanwhile, a group, Biafra Nations Youth League (BNYL), has called on President Muhammadu Buhari to forget his second term ambition in the interest of the country.
Reacting to the declaration of the president to seek re-election, the group called on him to concentrate his efforts to see how he can turn around the fortune of the country before the expiration of his tenure.
A press statement signed by the group’s leader, Princewill Obuka-Richard, emphasised that though the constitution allows him to seek reelection, it will be counter productive to go on with his ambition, given the tensed situation in the country.
“Yes, we know that the President Buhari has the backing of the constitution to seek reelection, but, if he is a true patriot, he should bury that ambition and work harder to improve the country before the end of his tenure, next year.”
“The polity has been overheated for some years now, and his coming back may not help matters,” the statement said.
The group called on the president to recognise the region known as Biafra, and queried why politicians from the South East and South South zones have not been able to present the position of the regions to him, saying, “all we want is for him to recognise the region known as Biafra and respect the demands for her independence and we will extend a hand of friendship to his government, as that would be his greatest achievement.
“Some politicians from South East and South South have refused to present the position of our people to President Buhari; that we are not concerned with his re-election, but in recognition of Biafra.
“Buhari’s government will be one of the best in the world, if Biafra is recognised. Achieving that is not difficult, all we just need is recognition and we will be glad that Buhari’s government becomes the first to recognise us.”
The group also threatened to attack herdsmen if the government continues to keep mute, while they endlessly massacre people and destroy communities.

The Convener of South-East Elders Forum, SEEF, and former President General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Dr Dozie Ikedife, has said he is not bothered about an Igbo man becoming Nigeria’s President in 2019 or after.

Ikedife said what bothered him was how the Biafran State could be realized, adding that the Igbo had been victims of unfulfilled promises in the past.

Speaking with the Sun over the weekend, Ikedife said, “There are so many unfulfilled promises and our people often fall victims to lies.

“If someone has deceived you for about two or three times, if he comes the fourth time you will have a second thought. One is just tired of this country.”

“What bothers me is how to realise Biafra through legal and diplomatic processes, and through dialogue without fighting or abusing anybody. That’s my position,” Ikedife said.

The 12 A29 Super Tucano aircraft ordered by Nigeria from the United States to fight insurgency are not due to arrive until 2020, a senior United States administration official disclosed at the weekend.
Speaking ahead of President Muhammadu Buhari’s visit to the White House next Monday, the official said the high regard the Donald Trump administration accords Nigeria is underscored by the fact that Buhari would be the first African leader to be received in the Trump White House.
The US administration official who spoke to journalists on the basis of strict anonymity nevertheless affirmed that issues arising from past agreements between the two countries would be on the cards at the US – Nigeria summit, including the open declaration of assets.
The administration official also spoke on the United States’ commitment to free and fair elections in 2019, teasingly asserted that the country’s candidate for the presidential election would be Mr.
Democratic Process. The official also said Washington would encourage open and frank negotiations between the Federal Government and the Indigenous People Of Biafra, IPOB.
Affirming that all issues involving the sale of the Super A29 Tucano aircraft have been cleared including receipt of an estimated $593 million from Nigeria, the official, however, said the aircraft were being built in Florida and would take at least two years to manufacture.
“The planes have not been fully built, and we are looking at delivery at or about 2020 as you don’t just pick them up because they have to be manufactured according to specifications.”
The A29 Super Tucano is a light attack aircraft intended for counter-insurgency, close air support, and aerial reconnaissance missions in low-threat environments. The estimated $539 million Nigeria paid for the aircraft the official disclosed included the cost of training for pilots, engineers, and spare parts.
The official observed that President Buhari’s visit to the White House was reflective of the premium the U.S gives to Nigeria noting that the Nigerian leader is the first African leader to be received by President Trump in the White House.
He said the warmth in relations was reflective in last week’s summit of African land forces co-hosted by the U.S. and Nigeria armies.
The US administration official restated the superpower’s commitment to the tenets of the U.S. – Nigeria Bi-national Commission, one of which is the open declaration of assets by elected officials and their subordinates.
“Sometimes it is difficult to implement (declaration of assets), but we will encourage that it should be followed through,” the official who briefed selected journalists said.
Given the declaration of the Boko Haram as a terrorist group by the United States’ States Department, the official was tasked on what approaches the US would take on issues between the Nigeria government and IPOB.
“On IPOB, we see that there is an aggrieved population that would want to have its views heard and we will encourage that there should be dialogue.
“We always encourage dialogue as we did with NDA (Niger Delta Avengers), PANDEF. We didn’t tell the vice-president to visit the Niger Delta, but we were happy that he did it and it worked, we are not colonialists but facilitators.”
The administration official, however, affirmed that issues pertaining to free and fair elections in 2019 would be seriously encouraged by the US administration and resounded in actions ahead of the polls.
“We are committed to doing more and more for Nigeria even more than we did in 2015.”
Teasing the journalists as the briefing came to a close, the official asked, “do you want to know who Washington would be supporting in 2019?”
“Our candidate is the Democratic Process!” the official said in the background briefing ahead of the historic summit between President Trump and Buhari, the first African leader in Washington D.C. next weekend.

Biafra, a nation endowed with variety of blessings, has been besieged for decades of years now. It has been tales of calamitous experiences for Biafrans and the global community seems unperturbed. The genocidal orgy of violence meted out against the people by a concentration of enemies has remained a non-discussable subject, with no foreseeable tangible plans from the International community to combat the anomaly. The name Biafra, appears anathemaic anywhere it is mentioned. But one thing is clear. Biafra is a divine project whose people are exceptionally endowed with enviable talents, knowledge and skills which have undeniably premised them on the pedestal of professional positions globally in various fields of endeavors. Unfortunately though, the people of Biafra, were contrapted to co-habit an entity where human life, dignity and respect are grossly devalued and disdained. The continued decimation of Biafrans by the Boko Haram terrorists and Fulani killer herdsmen with no respite, holds sway.
Since the fraudulent amalgamation of the sharply divergent indigenous people groups in 1914 by Fredrick Lugard which he christened Nigeria, Biafrans have remained the sacrificial lambs used to service delusional unity. The resultant consequence of that forced union has been greeted with unrelentless spate of killings, victimization, incarceration, marginalization and enslavement. The Hausa-Fulani (terrorists) infested Nigerian military regularly proud themselves as licensed killers of the Biafran people and nobody seems emboldened enough to question it. Biafrans are treated as second class citizens even in their own homes, farm settlements, business places and worship centres. The Fulani killer herdsmen, adequately sponsored and protected by the Nigerian government, maraud every nook and cranny of Biafraland, destroying farm produce with their cattle and killing the land owners. The question have been: what is really the offence of Biafrans to warrant this level of hatred? Exercising even their fundamental rights of self determination, by peacefully congregating and harmlessly pressing home a demand as humans, as distinctively stipulated by the United Nations charter amongst others, they are yet being hunted, hounded, killed and extra-judicially incarcerated.
Armed with these incessant inhuman attacks and degrading treatments in the hands of those that they were supposed to co-exist with, Biafrans have irrevocably decided to take their own destiny in their hands by courageously seeking for their freedom. The civilised global community has steadily and pretentiously be looking the other way, ostensibly for crass egocentric reasons. Their fear hinges on their assumed amount of power Biafrans will wield even globally through their romance with salient world players (world powers), should they be allowed to go. But the reality remains that "a slave" who realises his/her status and potentials must someday be off the shackles. The Biafran people have over the years, remained the endangered species of humans on earth and the season has dawned for their total emancipation.

They are formidable men and women with the spirit of Nnamdi kanu. The oath of office was conducted by the inaugural committee to the members of the new zone. Moving down to the Rumuola flyover area of the old Aba Road as the military continued their striking on the armless peaceful Biafrans, another two were killed again. In the process of trying to save our lives, some fell off the flyover and got injured. The spirit is high and the love for Donald Trump is unquenchable, coupled with the resoluteness and fearless nature of Biafrans, which made them to continue the rally inspite of the violence perpetrated on them by Buhari's henchmen (The Nigerian Army and Police). We kept moving down to the GRA area of Port Harcourt, when we discovered that the SARS (Special Anti- Robery Squad) joined the army and started shooting live bullets and throwing tear gas canisters on defenceless Biafrans. At this GRA axis, another 12 unarmed and helpless Biafrans were gunned down again. The combined forces now started tearing our placards, the American flags, Biafra flags, Israeli flags and Russian flags amongst others which Biafrans used for the rally. The painful aspect of the story is that they killed and took the bodies of Biafrans into their helux Van to unknown destinations. Those who were abducted were also taken to an unknown destination too probably for summary assassination. Due to the large number of Biafrans which numbers in thousands, we were able to take some of the bodies of those who were killed and those injured to the nearby hospitals as the military continued shooting sporadically. Other death casualties, were recorded when Biafrans travelling to their various destinations were attacked once more by Nigerian Army and 2 more people were killed again. The soldiers continued searching every transport vehicle and other vehicles for anyone in possession of any Biafra materials like Biafra T-shirts, Biafra flags, shoes, American flags, Israeli flags, Russia flags amongst others. And anyone found with the above mentioned materials will be arrested and beaten to stupor before taken to an unknown destination. The videos to the above outlined facts are in possession of IPOB, and which has already gone viral in the internet for everyone to see. Some of the hospitals in which Biafrans were rushed to namely; Morningstar star Hospital amongst others, refused to administer treatment to the dying and helpless young souls because they are afraid of being attacked and shut down by Nigerian government, The police were not left out of the scene as they were seen going from hospital to hospital ransacking for the bodies of Biafrans and those wounded. They took away those who are still alive and the bodies of those who had gunshot wounds. The Nigerian media outlets twisted the whole thing and reported their garbage as usual. It's only a gullible mind that listens to the lies being spread on daily basis as news, by the Yoruba gutter brown envelope journalism and their so called media houses. It's an incontrovertible fact that Nigerian media is compromised, and hardly do investigative journalism. They report whatever garbage and lies they are paid to spread. The international media are hereby advised to boycott Nigerian media since they are hell bent on spreading lies and can never tell the truth. The masses are being misled as they're fed them with unverified information and therefore kept them out of truth about the accurate information of what's happening in Biafra. However, the denial made by the Nigerian army and the state Commissioner of Police, Mr. Fuloso Adebanjo, were also assisted by the compromised Nigerian media in their desperation to shield the truth from the public. It's an undeniable fact that IPOB have never indulged in any act of terrorism or have ever turned violent in any of their protests or rallies.
