can tinubu fight corruption? Have six federating units with much more powers to those units. In plain terms True Federalism which will reduce the president's powers. |

Foreign Affairs › Re: Elon Musk's Reply To Bill Ackman Who Asked Him To Reconcile With Trump by Franking: 5:12pm On Jun 06, 2025 |
BlackViper: 🤔
There are 3 options for Musk:
1. He quits politics entirely and focuses his energies only on running his many businesses
2. He quits the Republican Party, but remains in politics and decides to create a 3rd party or support an independent candidate (something he has spoken of doing before and something which another Billionaire called Ross Perot tried in 1992 and it cost Republicans the Presidency which they lost to Bill Clinton)
3. He plays the long game and reconciles with Trump in anticipation of throwing his weight behind his own preferred Republican candidate in the 2028 U.S Presidential Elections.
I personally think he'll go for option 3, but nothing is guaranteed at the moment.
For one thing, he can never become a Democrat because they have spent the past decade demonising him as a Nazi, calling him a white supremacist and destroying Tesla car dealerships all over the United States.
Musk himself is forbidden from running for the Presidency of the United States because he is a first generation immigrant.
Under the American Constitution, a first-generation immigrant cannot run for the office of U.S. President.
The U.S. Constitution (Article II, Section 1) requires that the president be a "natural born Citizen" of the United States. This means the person must have been born a U.S. citizen, typically by being born on U.S. soil or to U.S. citizen parents abroad. First-generation immigrants, who are born outside the U.S. to non-citizen parents and later become citizens, do not meet this requirement. And Trump is third generation immigrant. Born to the son of an immigrant. |

Christianity Etc › Re: Can A Man Be A Child Of God Without A Church? by Franking: 9:31am On Jun 01, 2025 |
immortalcrown: Someone cannot be a graduate without education.
Let's break it down. Being a moralist is different from being a child of God. You can be a moralist without being guided by religion. But to be a Child of God, you have to know God's principles through religious activities. Below are some of the clear differences.
A moralist will not condemn sex before marriage as long as the sex is consensual and involves only adults, especially if the parties have agreed to marry each other. A child of God will avoid premarital sex even with his fiancée or her fiance, he or she will wait until marriage.
A moralist will do good to fellow humans while lacking the concept of praying to and praising God. A child of God does good to humans and dedicates time to praises and prayers. And this is where worshiping in a congregation is compulsory.
A moralist will support execution of criminals, a child of God will not.
A moralist will want gay people to be killed or excommunicated. A child of God will condemn the act of gay but will not harm gay people, he or she will keep hoping for gay people to repent.
A moralist will support divorce if the marriage is not peaceful. A child of God will not support divorce but will advise for living apart. Living apart is different from divorce.
A moralist will revenge if repeatedly offended, a child of God will keep forgiving. Not completely true. Islam is a religion but the adherents believe in waiting for a dinner to repent. God himself will need to tell us what he really needs since all religions don't agree in many aspects. Personally, I'm not a child of God and couldn't careless about God. |

Politics › Re: NAFDAC Denies Extortion At Onitsha Market, Says Fine Was Imposed by Franking: 4:56pm On May 28, 2025 |
triplechoice: NAFDAC doesn't recognize Unions but individual traders.
During my university days, we were all forced to pay restitution for damages to school falicities that occurred during students rioting.
Nobody was exempted. Even those who were not around during the mayhem where asked to pay. The student Union wasn't asked to pay on our behalf from levies we paid to them.
It's the same principle NAFDAC has applied here:The principle of collective responsibility.
And I can tell you this, everyone single trader in that market is aware of what goes on in there. I know, because I live in Asaba which one can say is just a stone throw from Onitsha.
Everyone of them is guilty directly or indirectly, and should pay for the consequences of their action and inaction. Go to Asaba and ask any adult about that particular market and hear the shocking things they will reveal about what goes on in there.
It's a centre for the sales of adulterated pharmaceuticals products.
The worst part is that they keep reclying expired drugs by changing the original expiring date so they can sell it to unsuspecting members of the public
The fine is not enough. Everyone found selling fake and expired drugs should be prosecuted and jailed and barred from ever selling kind of pharmaceutical products.
The fine is a compromise by NAFDAC. I paid restitution too but it's not the same thing. I agree that every single marketer found to deal on fake drugs should be prosecuted....I however disagree that everyone should pay the fine. |

triplechoice: NAFDAC applied the principle of collective responsibility to impose a fine on every trader in the market.
They're all collective responsible for what goes on in the market.. NAFDAC could have fined the entire market so that their union will pay it rather than asking individual marketers to pay 700k each.......so much corruption in Nigeria yet everyone is above board. |
