Politics › Forgive Me For The Sake Of Peace… Nobody Is Above Mistake, Governor Fayose Begs by frankzone(op): 7:33am On Apr 19, 2015 |
We don’t know exactly who Governor Ayo Fayose is directing his plea to, may be the APC lawmakers who are bent on impeaching him, or his numerous enemies in the political world. But the Governor yesterday at a special prayer session organised for him by the Ansar-udeen Mosque, Atikankan in Ado-Ekiti to celebrate his recent electoral victory at the Supreme Court, pleaded with the opposition and others he calls his enemies to please spare their sword and let peace reign in Ekiti. Continue below to read what Mr Fayose said: “If they say someone has enemies, I’m number one in the world. But God has been merciful and has been helping me to overcome my challenges. “I need your prayers because it will strengthen me more. I’m here in the mosque to thank God. “All I want is peace. I have a constitutionally guaranteed tenure. A governor is judged by his achievements in office. All I’m interested in is to bring development to my people. My opponents know if I have a rest of mind I will achieve my objectives. “All those I have offended should forgive me for the sake of the masses and orphans. They should know people gave me the mandate. Nobody is above mistake; they should forgive me.” “We are here to thank God and pray for peace. I’m appealing to those aggrieved to please allow peace to reign. “There is no perfect man. They should allow peace to reign. All I want is peace that will energise development. “Anything that can bring peace cannot be wished away. For me, I’m ready to accommodate everybody. Whatever they want we can sit down and talk,” he said. |

pendicle: Saying Jonathan performed anywhere in Nigeria is like lying with both sides of your mouth.
The josites who voted APC removed the kafirs too? The Tivs who voted APC in Benue are kafirs too? The eggons who voted APC in NASARAWA are Kafirs too?
Dankwambo was returned as governor in Gombe, a state that often had Book Haram Attack too despite him being in PDP. The people voted Buhari 2 weeks ago massively but rewarded him for his service on Saturday.
I don't think Dankwambo did half of what Okorocha did in Imo but today look at the multitude of opposition against him because he belonged to an amala and ewedu party not because of his personality but his party.
Does the party he belong too remove the fact he is an Imo son And so all the APC governors that retained their seats in the north did very well and that was why they were returned right? States like Zamfara and co? Wake up to the true realities of Nigerian politics bro |

veraponpo: It takes two to tango.
Oba Akinolu may not be right on this but the attitude of our Igbo brothers and sisters could frustrate one.
Having helped them more than what their region has done for them, instead of being grateful; their actions seem to be undermining the essence of our existence through their incendiary statements. Calling their hosts cowards- what do you want after that-fight to show we are not cowards.
Oba Akinolu is their match and that is why the situation seems difficult now.
A gentle king could be disobeyed easily but did they say anything at the palace? No. They dare not.
It was after leaving the palace that chest beating, ultimatum , etc started surfacing.
Who then is the cowards? Ta lo fe gbenan woju ekun lai f'eje we ( who wants to put light at the face of a tiger without being bathed with blood)
Remember, 'He who makes peaceful resolution difficult , has made violence inevitable.' You somehow sound educated but sorry to say, not quite intelligent. Having helped the Igbos? In what way? If you must know, the Lagos ports is the only reason igbos concentrate in Lagos, just for their businesses, moreover, aren't you guys supposed to be grateful to have them around? Spare a thought and imagine a Lagos without them. They pay their taxes to enrich u, obey both federal and state laws but tribalism won't allow u guys appreciate them for a minute. The whole igbo states are open for all Nigerians and the Igbos are known to even cater and trust non-indegens more than their own. Ask any yoruba man in the east they'll tell you. So why the hate? Is Agbaje not a yoruba man? So why belittle them and command them like toddlers? An Igwe or Obi in any Igbo state can never try it anywhere, how does it even sound in your ears to make you defend this? |

ChinemeOkpan: I said the same yesterday and I got over 50 mentions. Most of them abusing and cursing
It is important that you look at the video to understand his statement contextually. The Igbo leaders there were laughing and smiling, they wont have done so if they felt threatened.
You need to see the response of Igbos on twitter to Pat Utomi's tweets, they have been cursing since morning.
Una go tire and on Monday you will wake up to a brand new shinny Governor- Mr Ambode So you expected the Igbo leaders to be frowning when they were still in his palace? You've never heard of cosmetic smile usually applied with wisdom in a tactful manner? Oh... you're not Igbo! |
