YourGFsnatcher: Do you understand what dating a minor is? Have you seen an adult dating a minor in any of "their movies"?
They are both adults by Brazilian law actually, Brazil's age of consent is 14. I just googled the lady and found out that she's actually 24, 6years older than endrick....I really hope it doesn't end in premium heartbreak for the little man but there's no minor in this relationship legally speaking.
lionshare: It's great to see people thinking from a place of numbers. Most replies to my initial post have been largely numberless in thinking.
@androblaze, you need to account for inflation in naira, not in USD, because $1 in 2012 was ₦155. Meanwhile, the USD inflates to $1.4 in 2025, but the naira’s value would be ₦2,100.
@franugo, the parent company of IB is AB InBev Nigeria Holdings BV, a subsidiary of Anheuser‑Busch InBev (AB InBev) — not SABMiller.
Noted brother, thanks. All in all tho, I think investing it was probably better than leaving the money idle but I also think there were other much better places to invest at the time

FreeStuffsNG: That's like land banking? If you want to take that route, I will suggest that you get the title sorted completely. If it is bareland and you leave it bare, it raises risk of being sold even behind you and whoever takes possession will sort the papers and now use court to fight you sir.
Wow wow, meanwhile I'm finding it hard to see a buyer for my two plots of land in bayelsa @ 1.5m per plot...in real estate, it's location location location!
AndroBlaze: First let me commend you as being the first person to try and make a decent economic argument as to why Soludo might be wrong in what he said. This is highly commendable in the Nairaland we find ourselves where people who shout the loudest and throw insults assume that doing this makes them right.
While your calculations and the idea behind them seem correct, you missed something that any economist or even businessman would have noticed, the value of money then compared to the value of money now. Simply put, $1 as at 2012 is equivalent to $1.4 now. So if you really wanted to look at what is the equivalent of investing $12,616,356.43 as at 2012, you would have to convert that amount to the dollar value now which is 1.4* 12,616,356.43 = $17.6m.
So simply put, any dollar investment that you made 13 years ago, that is valued less than $17.6m has fallen below the inflation threshold and is a loss. If you repeated this using the naira value that he invested it will still amount to the same thing. Also we have not even considered the opportunity cost of what would have happened if he had invested that money in the least risky portfolio and the returns it would have yielded.
To be fair, this is the way a business man would think, there are other things an Economist would consider though, but one thing for sure is there is little doubt that the shares are worth less now than they were in 2012 using any sensible financial metrics. EDIT:
I noticed your Sabmiller price was outdated from your screenshot so I also went to check the current value of International Breweries, which is what Sabmiller has morphed into( according to the article you quoted). In short, the share price is currently N13.85, which if you do the math with the previous quantity is valued at N5.6bn which is $3.6m now..... that is truly a terrible investment in every country and language.
Hello Andro, thanks for your submission, I understand where you're coming from, I believe the original investment was done in naira, I added the FX value as an afterthought. I believe in hindsight, Peter would probably have gone for better options like GTCO, Zenith etc that are indigenous companies and would have fetched considerably more. Also though, if he'd left the money lying in the state govt account, it definitely would have yielded very insignificant amount so I guess it's commendable that he tried to multiply the money. P.S, Sabmiller is actually like a parent body to Int'l brewery, not really the same company, I'm not quite sure which shares Peter purchased at the time, if it was in Sabmiller or in international brewery, though I believe the fund was utilized by Sabmiller mainly for the construction of int'l brewery.
P.s again, thanks for this, it's so irritating that people leave substance to abuse each other's ethnicity and political leaning, very annoying
dawnomike: "Longtime lover" How old is bros that she already qualified as a longtime lover

Factcheck0001: Peter obi name is clearly written in that tweet by el rufai, oya tell me another thing?
You realize how politicians are right? Let's talk Reno as an example, you see the way he switched allegiance and changed tunes because Tinubu is now in power right? At the time El-rufai made that statement, he was a chieftain in APC, his sole aim was to discredit Peter Obi, now both men have reconciled and will be working closely to try to unseat Tinubu. Can you agree with me tho that movement is prohibited to a large extent during elections?
Cyberterror: There is nothing wrong with the warning that Governor Okpebholo issued to Peter Obi and it is in Obi's best interest to obey the directive or have himself to blame. Obi did the same thing to El Rufai some years back in Anambara when he locked El Rufai in his hotel using his authority of Chief security officer of anambara. I am sure that guilty conscience will make Obi to obey the order just as he has been obeying the same order issued by the Benue state governor which made him to be avoiding Benue state since then.
Oh my God, why don't you guys fact check before carrying news like this? So if one person gets an outdated and false reportage, you guys will pick it up just because it aligns with what you want to believe?
Pls watch the video, even el-rufai himself said he was detained by SSS, who said the order came from above, Abuja....why el-rufai made this statement was because Obi said that it's normal for movement to be restricted during elections, Obi was himself restricted from moving around, and he was the governor of Anambra, where the election was holding, at the time.
Brother pls watch the video, even El rufai stated that the order came from above, he was detained by SSS not Peter Obi. Pls watch the video and check the details, it's always good that we confirm things before reiterating them online
We have too many people arguing blindly and with emotions...let us take emotions away from this and argue with facts, I will try to do so below:
In 2012, Peter Obi invested the sum of N1,955,535,247.00 (equivalent of approximately US$12,616,356.43 at the then average CBN exchange rate of N155.00/$1.00) to purchase 407,321,264 ordinary shares of the company now known as Sabmiller brewery, which means that then the price per share was around #4.8. fast forward to today, price per share is #57.60 on NGx which means that if Anambra state were to sell their total shares today, they'll realize over #23b, which means their shares have appreciated in naira value by over #21b. Now let's look at the USD value, in 2012, the USD value of the shares was $12m, when you convert the current naira value of the shares i.e #23b to USD, you get $15m, so it's also appreciated in USD value despite the fact that rates have taken a catastrophic nosedive since 2012. All in all, it seems like a decent investment, I'm not sure why there's so much angst about it, or Maybe my math is not mathing?
TimeManager: I wonder what happened to him to have failed to show up at the burial even though he is in the country, his team are doing a really bad job. This is a man that has literally made the North his second home immediately after the 2023 elections, going from one state to another donating boreholes and breaking Ramadan fast in mosques. He was literally begging to visit Benue after herdsmen attacks but for the Governor who refused him. He was in ilorin last week where he was advocating that the coalition zone its ticket to the south. he was also in Jos this past Thursday where he visited some Islamic clerics who wore him an Hausa attire.. After all, he has taken it as a past time to be paying condolences to victims of attacks and the bereaved without giving a hoot about what people say about him. Why then did he fail to attend this crucial burial that seems to be at the very top of it all?.
-Kiss the truth!
He was at the burial of Awulaje. He has already condoled with the family of Buhari', I don't understand why you people castigate him for being at every burial yet also lambast him for not being at Buhari's burial, is that not hypocritical?
