These Ghanaians sef.
Always talking about Nigeria, we live rent free in their minds.

Do they think the Naira and Cedis have the same value? There’s no way MultiChoice (DSTV and GOTV) would charge the same subscription fees in both countries.
If they want things to be equal, they should also tell car dealers, grocery stores, electronics sellers etc to match Nigerian prices.

Those people wey dey compare Nigeria to Ghana and other small countries wey dey West Africa (ECOWAS) neva travel go there before.

Yes, there are countries in Africa that are better than Nigeria but they're not in West Africa.
Our money and their money no be mate.
Nigeria mate no dey West Africa na.... Shey you dey waine ni!!!
2 cedis is almost #300 bro, cedis is stronger than naira, even though Ghana redominated to get the cedis to it's current strength

Major components have been stolen from the $1.5 billion Lagos–Ibadan railway project, which was commissioned in 2021 by former President Muhammadu Buhari.

The incident has raised serious concerns about infrastructure security and the long-term sustainability of major national projects.
Video in a language not understood by everyone. Post does not state what was stolen, video also does not show us what was stolen, how are they then major components?

The mooroccan players hands were raised unlike the NIGERIAN player
Your hand does not have to be raised to concede a penalty, it just has to be away from your body, which our player's hand was, same with the Moroccan player.

#modified
I attached a picture of the incident, you can clearly see that our girl's hand was away from her body. I think it perhaps touched a Moroccan's hands first before hitting our girl cause otherwise, I'm not sure it was a right call, even if it did favor us.

Understandable, we'd protest if we were in their shoes too, I actually thought it was a penalty, not sure why it was rescinded. I was also surprised that the red did not explain after reviewing the VAR, I thought FIFA has made it mandatory for refs to explain after VAR review, as was done in the CWC

Your entire argument is flawed and fueled by selective outrage.

First of all, you claim to be “just giving your opinion” — but you showed up in my mentions unprovoked, ranting like your hot take was the gospel. If you truly believe in opinions being respected, practice what you preach.

Secondly, your “concern” about the country being broke is laughable. Since when did you become the Minister of Finance? Or do you apply this logic to all the government’s reckless spendings or just when it involves rewarding Nigerian excellence?

Let’s talk numbers, since you brought them up:

You say the Falcons were already paid. Sure — they earned it.

They got rewarded again? That’s called motivation and national appreciation.

Other countries do the same — go check how Morocco, Ivory Coast, or even South Africa treat their athletes.

You cherry-picked Ivory Coast getting $7m and being rewarded "within range" — but forgot to mention their economy, GDP, or how much they also celebrate their players. You can’t quote figures without context.

Bottom line:
You’re upset that women were recognized and rewarded for making the nation proud. Just say that and go. Don’t hide behind fake economic analysis to mask your bitterness.
Ok

No one is complaining about the girls being rewarded, what they're talking about is the amount being gifted to them, it is too much

Odingo1:
Igbos constitute 45% of Lagos population and that make them a majority tribe in Lagos, the remaining 55% is divided among other tribes Hausa, Ijaw, etc, with Yorubas struggling to grab 40% even Egun, Awori doesn’t see theirselves as full Yorubas, if not for intimidation and violence against Igbos in elections, Igbos will almost win all senate and house of rep seat in Lagos.

Our president spending dollars in Nigeria instead of naira just like they did during their primary elections. Does it mean these won’t affect the economy? Why order other biz enterprises not to deal in dollars in Nigeria while you and other politicians are spending d same dollars in Nigeria?
Maybe you didn't get the full gist of the story, the girls will be paid in naira, I don't know why the story has the USD equivalent

If they no give una go complain and say other countries value there players more, now they have been rewarded well some of una still the wail!
You can't satisfy everyone shikina!!!
You're the one wailing and mouthing off in my mentions. I gave my opinion, give yours and let that be that. If you think it's wise to gift almost 4bn to the team after they were already paid bonuses and salaries for the tournament, That's your cup of tea.
FYI, the wafcon tournament prize was $1m, everything Tinubu has given the girls is well over 3 or 4 times that amount. By comparison, Ivory coast won afcon 2023 and got $7m in prize money, and what was given to them was well within range of what the prize money could again.
The country is broke, we keep borrowing, given our 'brokeness', we should make sure that we spend wisely. Only a foolish person borrows to dash others

Don't believe me, but research and come back.
Where did the op mention 2023 debt profile? What I saw was 2015 before APC and now after a decade of APC. Also the naira equivalent of the loan as at then is totally different from what's obtainable now, so why are we still procuring FX loans instead of sticking to naira?

I'm still not sure why we're borrowing foreign loans, previously it majorly was to import refined crude and to service banks who in turn service their customers. Now those two black holes have been shut, why are we then still borrowing foreign funds? Naira I can understand.....or is it that we're borrowing FX to service the ones Buhari borrowed?
