Good morning house,

I got my ppr last year but I had already deferred my admission to fall 2023 (no winter entry). My medicals was to expire in June so I went ahead and did an upfront medical and sent the e-medical file through web form

My issue now is that I haven’t gotten a response from IRCC and I’m leaving in August. My letter of introduction still has the old medical validity date. Will this be an issue or is there something I’m missing?

Documents Submitted

I got all my information from this thread and a friend who had just gotten hers (My dad hates agents).
1. SOP (I used my friends own as a guide to write mine. It was about 2 pages).
2. Letter of Sponsorship from my dad.
3. Dad's MyBank Statement. (Good cash inflow and outflow. Closing balance of 50m+).
4. Dad's International Passport.
5. NYSC PPA and Call-up Letter (Was still serving when I applied so no certificate).
6. Bachelor's Degree Certificate
7. Bachelor's Degree Transcript
8. IELTS Result (Band cool
9. My CV
10. Police certificate (Didn't end up putting it as it was tampered)
11. Travel History: UK, Canada (did K-12 there so it might have been an advantage)
12. Paid Tuition with Form A and sent the schools confirmation through a webform.
School required I resume September 6th or defer till next year fall as there's no winter intake. So I deferred and sent the updated Acceptance letter via webform.
For my SOP I explained the lack of technology in Nigeria as a reason for studying in Canada – I'm a CS major. I also explained the benefits of my knowledge when I return.

School Application
Adding this because it might help some people
https://www.universitystudy.ca/search-programs
You can use the link to find a school for the major you're interested in. Personally, I didn't want to do thesis so I looked for schools that have course-based programs.
I applied to three schools. Got accepted to one in February 2022 but delayed till April when I heard from the other two (rejections).
Wanted to defer the one I got to winter so I could retry for some other ones only to find out I couldn't. Please take note of intake terms as it could be important.

Thanks to everyone on this thread for the information and help through this journey.

This was around 2016 and he wasn’t told to leave by IRCC. I heard IRCC didn’t have an authentic means to know who left their country by air till 2020. Will they still know?

Anon123:

It will be a bigger issue if he does not declare himself that he overstayed because IRCC already knows.

He transferred his credits when he returned to Nigeria.
His study permit expired in July and he didn’t leave Canada till December. He wasn’t told by IRCC to leave.
olokings:
simple logical reasoning will flag this applicants profile with tons of reasons.

He abadoned his study and had to return back to Nigeria to finish his first degree.... abadoning his study is one thing, having to return back to Nigeria to do and complete another first degree is something else and a huuuuuuuge red flag. Did he transfer his credits from his Canadian school to Nigeria or he came and started from scratch?

He abadoned his study (incomplete) but yet overstayed his study permit in Canada? Bros, this tori get kobo-kay leg!

Lets be frank, if you were the VO, you wont make issues out of it, you will give him a record decision. Unless, i didnt get your story straight.

Good Evening House,
A friend of mine previously studied in Canada before. He didn’t complete his study and left half way. He came back to finish his first degree.
Now, he’s planning to go back for his masters but the issue is that he overstayed his previous study permit. Will it be an issue if he applied for this new study permit?

Hello House,

I just submitted my application but I didn't see anywhere I could opt for NSE processing.
Is there something I'm missing?

Sorry for the late reply. To answer your questions:
1. Went to Alagbon Police Station in Ikoyi, Lagos.
2. Yeah I got it that same day. Within an hour.
3. Paid 10K (Had to grease palms)
4. Just a photocopy of my international passport and a passport photograph
afosoft:
Hello Fred

How and where did you get this police report? Did you get it same day. How much did you pay? What did you take along?

Thank you for your response in advance.

Good day House,

A friend wants to go do masters in graphic design in the UK. What schools do you suggest she should apply to.

PS: She is looking for an easy school that she won't stress too much. Tuition is not an issue.

Good day everyone,

I just got my police report and realized my passport number was missing a figure at the back. Took it back and they put the wrong number. Then they cleaned it and put the right one.

My issue is that it is obvious something was changed initially. They said it was not a problem.

But will this be a problem when I submit it? I really don't want to go through the hassle of getting another one.

Goodday guys,
I just graduated from University with a Bsc in Computer Science. I’m looking for schools that offer course based routes in Computer Science (I don’t think thesis is for me).
My CGPA is 4.6 but I’m skeptical because admission is always competitive for Computer science.
Is there anything to make my profile stronger?
