Just days after traditional religion worshippers in Osun State demanded a two-day public holiday from the state government to commemorate this year’s Isese Day, the state government has declared Tuesday a public holiday in commemoration of the World Traditional Religion, Isese Day. In a press statement released on Monday by the state’s commissioner for Information and Strategy, Sunday Akere, the state government declared the public holiday in the spirit of equality among the various religious groups in the state. A leader of the traditionalists, Awopetu Idowu, last Friday had asked Governor Rauf Aregbesola to declare Tuesday and Wednesday this week as public holidays in the state in celebration of the Isese Day as a demonstration of the governor’s commitment for the promotion of peaceful co-existence and equal right for all religions. “Isese Day, among the traditional believers, is the celebration of the peak of festivity in Yorubaland tagged Odun Nla, hence were given the right to celebrate with members of their families,” Mr. Akere said in the statement. http://premiumtimesng.com/regional/143081-osun-declares-public-holiday-for-traditional-religion-worshippers.html |

ifechez: see ur life. Who cleared who? Am telling u the creteria and u are talking about a non member. Even obaze was disqualified becos he has no Voter's card but today he came to atani and obtained his before jumping in the next available flight to abj from asaba airport. Pls say what you know. TanxMy Friend, Willy Obiano, the Otunba Atayase of Ilemeso-Ekiti was one of the cleared candidates and he registered with APGA same day as Soludo, I could care less about an oseloka obaze |

ifechez: you are pathetic. Are u aware of any Apga rule that says any aspirant must have stayed in the party for more than.a year. You are not even an Apga member and here u are fabricating trash.Shut up you fool. Soludo joined APGA the same day as Willy Obiano who was cleared. Chuma Nzeriba joined APGA 24 hrs to election in the Senate election |
Everybody chill down. Good news will come soonest. Soludo may still be cleared after all, all these are political intrigues. They are still meeting and deliberating. Probably they will make a public pronouncement afterwards.
The earlier Soludo leaves these bunch of fools in APGA to another party, the better for him. If they could do this to him during screening then they would do worse in the primaries. Its better he joins another party now than for him to do so after a failed primary. Let me sit here and see how a relatively unknown Willy Obiano who has Yoruba roots will win Anambra election. Peter Obi is the new clown like rochas ![]() |
mikeansy: Absolutely correct! We should pay him back in 2015. Let us not vote at all. Anyway instead APGA will win without Soludo, let PDP win. APGA is the new monster to be avoided like APC |
Peter Obi has stuffed all Anambra money in his bank , boosted the capital base, pockets the interest and goes about telling Anambra people he is saving their money for them. Fraudulent and sadistic human being |
Obiagelli: Can we stay on the topic, being conservative is not an attack on the pdpPDP is anything but conservative, APC is anything but progressive. |
Obiagelli: What are the two government's stand (apc and pdp ) on taxation, school fees, Privatisation, state police, decentralising power and so onApC stands on over taxation because the owner is a tax collector as against PDP's moderation, APC does not want autonomy of LG against PDP's acceptance, APC wants state police as against PDP etc. APC will be worse govt if they get presidency |
Gbawe: First of all, the political ideology Nigerian Parties identify with is never adhered to in a purist manner. Nigerian politics and democracy is evolving yet it is still at a rudimentary level. If I were to rate it from 1 to 10, I would put us at 1.This chronic liar and jobless propagadist. APC is has the better leaders and manifesto like we see in Akpabio vs Fashola, Chime Vs Ajimobi, Amaechi Vs Kayode right? shameless old propagandist. Get a real job and a life |

Governor Peter Obi and the SABmiller Scandal - the issues raised by Chudi Offodile: 1. The President need not go to Onitsha to commission the SABmiller brewery. It would amount to an endorsement of a sordid affair and may embolden other foreigners who design and put into effect, different and newer corruption techniques with government officials. 2. In the history of corruption in Nigeria, the Onitsha brewery scandal will rank as the most brazen. When I first raised the issue a few months ago, apart from a rain of insults I received from government agents, 3. the Attorney General, Peter Afuba, directed me to the corporate affairs commission to obtain information about the company. 4. But a search at the corporate affairs commission did not yield any information on SABmiller brewery, Onitsha, which is the name the state government repeatedly called the company. 5. The government itself refused to release any information on the ownership of the company except to say that Anambra state invested 2 billion naira for a 10% stake in the SABmiller brewery with “other businessmen”. 6. The identity of the so called ‘other businessmen’ remained a closely guarded secret until I stumbled upon a company, in the records of the corporate affairs commission, called INTAFACT BEVERAGES LIMITED with registration no 680933, incorporated by the firm of Udo Udoma & Belo-Osagie. 7. The company has British and South African directors with a nominal share capital of 40,000,000 Naira divided into 400 ordinary shares of 100,000 Naira each. 8. The interpretation clause of the memorandum and articles of association of the company defines ‘state’ as Anambra state government and ‘next’ as Next international limited of Nado House, 98 modebe avenue, Onitsha. 9. The position of Chairman is to be occupied by a Nigerian. The Obi of Onitsha is on the shortlist for the position. 10. 300 of the 400 ordinary shares worth 30,000,000 were allotted to the following shareholders as at April 2011: Sabmiller Nigeria holdings—230 ordinary shares, Anambra state government—40 ordinary shares and Next International Nigeria Limited—30 ordinary shares. 11. Intafact Beverages Limited is the owner of the brewery in Onitsha. 12. Keep in mind, the fact that Next international limited, one of the three shareholders of Intafact Beverages Limited, is owned by Anambra state Governor, Peter Obi and his family. 13. It turns out, that the mysterious ‘other businessmen’ is no other than the Governor himself. Alas, the gods are naked! 14. Part of the land on which the brewery stands in bridgehead, Onitsha, belongs to a company called International Steel Industry Limited, Onitsha. The land was allocated to the company in 1975 by the defunct East Central State government. The company had developed the over 7 acre property and paid ground rent on the property up until 2011. 15. Indeed, the certificate of occupancy was recertified by Governor Obi on the 5th of March, 2010. Yet, Obi went ahead and revoked the right of occupancy of International Steel Co and awarded same to Intafact Beverages Limited, a private company in which he has interest. 16. The land was revoked for “overriding public interest” and re awarded to a private company for “overriding personal interest”. It is illegal to revoke a parcel of land for overriding public interest and grant the same parcel to a private company. 17. It becomes immoral and symptomatic of greed, avarice and a capricious abuse of state power, when the beneficiary of the revocation is the Governor himself. 18. SABmiller, based in South Africa, is said to be the biggest brewery group in the world. Its investment in Nigeria is speculated to be more than a 100 million us dollars. 19. A good deal for Nigeria and Anambra state no doubt. But it appears that in an attempt to expand its operations in Africa, it has gotten itself entangled in a web of corruption and unethical conduct. 20. Governor Obi personally handled all negotiations between Anambra state government and Sabmiller group and visited South Africa several times on the subject. 21. Did Sabmiller allocate the shares in Intafact Beverages Limited to Next international limited as “bribe” to further its business interest in Nigeria? 22. (a)What did Governor Peter Obi have in mind when he invested 2 billion naira of Anambra state money in a company he has direct interest? (b) What other assets of Anambra state did he contribute on behalf of the state to further his own business interest? (c) Did Next international [Obi’s company] pay for the shares allotted to it in ‘cash or kind’ and how was the payment, if any, effected? (d) What does Governor Peter Obi understand by the oath he swore to, on assumption of office; “that I will not allow my personal interest to influence my official conduct or my official decisions”. 23. To address these questions and more, an international enquiry into the activities of Sabmiller group in Nigeria and the operations of Next International limited and the possible interface of its accounts with that of Anambra state government should commence without further delay. 24. To this end, I shall be forwarding a letter to Nigeria’s Attorney General and Minister for Justice, the British government, the government of South Africa and the United States Department of Justice demanding for this investigation. 25. With the investigation that is sure to come, it will not be advisable for the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria to be the one ‘commissioning’ the controversial brewery. They may drag the name of the President into their sleazy deal with a claim that the arrangement was approved by the President. 26. Orient Petroleum on the contrary, was set up in a most transparent manner as a private company in 2001. The stake of the Anambra State government in the company is about 3%. It is an indigenous company in almost every sense and proudly so. Its office is in Awka, Anambra State with the board and the management populated by eminent citizens of the state. 27. The rig used in the production process belongs to Casmir Maduafokwa from Anambra State. 28. The storage vessels moored on the banks of Anambra river, into which the crude flows, enabled by a 10 kilometer flow line, belongs to Cletus Ibeto, a category [A] investor in the Orient project who is also from Anambra state. The ingenuity of our people is on full display. This is despite the antics of a noisy state government seeking to take credit for the efforts and achievements of a private company, that had to construct a 25 kilometre road with its lean resources to enable about 40 trailers navigate the huge rig to the wellhead in Anambra River 1. I welcome President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan [GCFR] to Anambra state, to inaugurate the first oil production from an inland basin in Nigeria by Orient Petroleum and Refinery Company plc. 29. While in Anambra state, Mr President should avoid the controversial precincts of the drunken brewery giant, SABmiller. Lets open up some secrets on the fraud called Peter Obi - The worst governor in the history of Anambra State by freegbobe, the original servant of truth Cuche: Yes I could not agree more. For Peter Obi, being the Governor of Anambra for the past 7 years has been so rewarding especially for his pocket. Apart from being the smartest of the Governors he has also mastered the tricks of deception and sweet talking. He also knows that the easiest way to steal and not be followed by financial crime watchdogs is to befriend the presidency. Another smart move is to regularly decorate the accounts of Bishops and traditional rulers who ordinarily should ask questions on Why Anambra State has received over 900 billion from Federation account as revenue including Local Government funds. Grants from Foreign Donors and revenue generated from industrial areas of Onitsha, Nnewi, Awka, Obosi including his neck-breaking taxation and charges on Land C of O is a story for another day. |
Anambra youths must protest against a monumental fraud called Peter obi, it's about time he is stoned and embarrassed at any public function. This epitome of deceit won his first election by campaigning that all his kids will school in Anambra while he is governor but I doubt if his kids has neared the state in his 8 year locust rule |
so this op was the yorubest constituting public nuisance. Extend his ban please |
2014 Chukwuma Soludo Insha Allah |

Bliss4Lyfe: The fear of Soludo is the begining of wisdom. ![]() Nothing can stop Soludo from govt house |
way to go. let me see how these folks will win a Soludo with his current fame at the elections. Atiku and PDM should capitalize on this opportunity. If Ifeanyi Uba can pull any weight, with Labor Party, Ngige win APGA/Peter Obi/Akunyili with an Amala party, Soludo can surely win the polls with PDM |
here were indications yesterday that the disqualification of the former Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) , Prof. Charles Soludo, along with five other aspirants by the screening panel of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) may have been due to external pressures. Soludo's travails came just as two other successful aspirants from the Anambra North, Chief John Okechukwu Emeka and Chief Willie Obiano, emerged as the new front-runners of the party’s governorship ticket. The revelations following the outcome of the APGA Gubernatorial Screening Panel, which last Friday declined to clear six of the aspirants, including Soludo, showed that there were very powerful forces behind his ouster. The reasons, the panel adduced for not clearing the aspirants, ranged from non- presentation voters card, and party membership card. Also, an appeal panel headed by Chief Tony Ojeilo, at the end its sitting on Saturday, held that the submissions made by the aspirants have been dismissed for lack of merit. However, sources at APGA spoke on some intrigues and high-level maneuvering aimed at stopping Soludo from emerging as the party's governorship candidate. The source traced the former CBN governor's travail to his former party, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), where it said Soludo had been marked out of the state governorship contest before he decided to seek an alternative platform in APGA. "Certain elements are not comfortable with the growing profile of Soludo, especially his fraternisation with a former Vice-President. They are afraid that if Soludo is allowed to emerge APGA candidate and may be win the Anambra governorship election, he may sell out during the 2015 presidential election," he said. THISDAY gathered that part of the calculations was that the next governor of Anambra State would most certainly be the most influential in the South-east, since the office would not be vacant until after 2015 elections. It was alleged that the same forces that had stood against Soludo's candidacy in the PDP also followed him to APGA with the willing support of some party bigwigs. According to associates of Soludo, who confirmed the scheming, even before the commencement of the party's screening, the aspirant was pressurised to step down. For instance, the former CBN governor was said to have received telephone calls from some top leaders of APGA, urging his to jettison his governorship bid, a plea he turned down on the grounds that he could not find any good reason to do that. THISDAY gathered at the weekend, that the embittered former governorship candidate of the PDP was weighing several options and may be reconsidering his earlier promise not to dump APGA for another party. Meanwhile, two of the APGA governorship aspirants, who scaled through last weekend's screening exercise, a former Minister of Water Transport, Mr. John Okechukwu Emeka, and a former Executive Director with Fidelity Bank Plc, Chief Willie Obiano, were now touted as leading the pack of other five aspirants ahead of the party's primaries slated for August 26. Emaka recently received a boost from an endorsement by about 16 communities in his home base, Anambra North senatorial district, while Obiano was said to have the tacit support of the state Governor, Peter Obi. In a statement signed by the Presidents- General of the communities, which included, Ifite Anam, Umueru Anam, Ukwala, Owelle, Inoma, Olumbanasa, Mkpunando, Umuaba Arum, Emewu Abuleti,Aguleri, Nzam, Nando, Igabariam, Enugwu-Otu and Ezi-Awam, the communities said: "It is in the interest of their various communities which have longed suffered underdevelopment to take a stand in the forthcoming gubernatorial elections. "In the light of these, we hereby express our whole-hearted support for the candidature of Mr. John Okechukwu Emeka, former Minister of Water Transport, whom our investigations revealed to be an inspirational leader and rally point of our people." http://www.thisdaylive.com/articles/anambra-guber-poll-soludo-lost-out-to-underground-scheming/156639/ |
