The Peoples General speaks: For the past few weeks, I have toured most part of the country meeting delegates and party faithfuls on the way to move Nigeria forward. That also gave me the rare opportunity to closely interact with the Nigerian people and share their hopes and fears. I have seen a Nigeria where there is so much wealth and too much suffering, where there is abundant resources and unspeakable deprivation, where there is more affluence for the rich and more misery for the poor. I did not see a Northern or Southern, Muslim or Christian, Ijaw or Berom poor, what I saw is a Nigerian poor who is suffering in all religions and agonizing in all tribes. But I also saw a Nigerian poor with an unquenchable hope for the future and an unbreakable spirit to unshackle himself from the chains of disunity, bad leadership and corruption. To those groups of Nigerians I say tomorrow you will receive a glad tiding. As I welcome my party's delegates to today's convention, let me remind them of the choice before them: today is not about Muhammadu Buhari alone, today is about a bigger idea; about the future stability and prosperity of Nigeria. It is an opportunity that only comes once in every four years but whose outcomes will echo for generations to come. I trust that our delegates will make the right choice. Once again, I welcome you all to Lagos. May God be your guide. |
The Abuja Division of the Court of Appeal has dismissed an appeal filed by MTN Nigeria Communications Limited challenging a decision of a Federal High Court striking the case filed against the telecoms company by a former governor of Osun State, Mr. Olagunsoye Oyinlola.\ At the preliminary stage of the suit in which Oyinlola sought a payment of N150 billion from both the MTN and the Nigeria Communications Commission (NCC) for alleged failure to protect him, he sought to discontinue the case and the trial judge, Justice B.N. Aliyu consequent struck it out. But MTN disagreed saying that the trial judge ought to have dismissed the suit. It eventually appealed to the Court of Appeal asking the appellate court to set aside the high court’s judge order striking out the case and its place to issue an order of dismissal. MTN argued that the parties had already joined issue when the plaintiff sought to discontinue the case. However, the appeal court rejected the company’s argument and held that the trial judge was right in striking out the case. It consequently dismissed the appeal as lacking in merit. Oyinlola had in the suit accused MTN of lying to the National Judicial Council (NJC) that the NCC made it mandatory for service providers to keep record of calls logs for two months. He had asked the court to declare that NJC failed to protect him from unfair practices of MTN. He also asked the court to hold that MTN failed in its duty to be accountable and responsive to his needs. But in a counter affidavit, MTN denied any wrong doing and denied the allegation. Others are Ministers of Labour, Emeka Wogu; Health, Onyebuchi Chukwu; State for Niger Delta, Dairus Ishaku. The ministers quit their posts to pursue their political ambitions, the government said. For instance, if you don't speak up for what you want, your husband is flying blind -- and not likely to deliver. And the way you talk about your issues may be making matters worse. And then there's the bedroom. Getting married is easy. Being married can be trickier. Here is some expert advice to avoid or correct six common mistakes that can cost a marriage, or at the least, weaken its foundations. Whether it's you or your spouse making these mistakes, taking positive action can make a big difference. 1. Being Too Quick to Please Some wives are too willing to give up on what they want. It is called "appendage-itis," in which the wife is basically being an accessory to the husband, instead of being a full and equal partner in the marriage. Some women tend to be "all about him" rather than all about themselves, as men tend to be. The sense of helplessness leads to anger that eventually boils over. Solution? Ok! Express your concerns rationally, whether about housework or parenting duties, or about not getting enough time with your husband or for yourself. He may like golfing on weekends while she may want him around for family time, for example. If you spoke up, you might be able to work out a better arrangement where it would be a family event.'' 2. Not Being Clear About Expectations Couples that function the best in marriage have made their expectations clear from the outset about division of labor, parenthood, and money. But many couples don't have those discussions and are operating on auto-pilot. Lots of couples operate on what they assume in their head because they grew up that way, that if it works for them, it works for their partners Karam says. Resentment can easily build if expectations differ or are dashed on the rocks of hard reality. For example, some women think having a baby will change their husband or bring him closer. What we know about marriage satisfaction is that it takes a massive dip when the first child is born. If they knew that before marriage ... it would help them navigate normal roadblocks and not freak out when it happens. 3. Underestimating the Effect of Tone of Voice No matter who's speaking, man or woman, tone of voice can be an issue if it's tinged only slightly with negativity. If you have concerns, verbalizing them in a respectful way, rather than speaking in a frustrated, irritated voice. By all means, discuss what's bothering you. But do it in a way that searches for solutions and alternatives, rather than venting in a way that puts a peaceful solution further out of reach. - See more at: http://www.reviewcious.com/family/attention-married-women-things-you-don-know-about-marriage-which-spell-trouble-t3165.html |

@ all the dudes who need summary, pls manage this. That summarizes Linda's arguements: I admit that I take content from other sites. Plenty of it sef, but the question is, which website in the world doesn’t? If you go on Bossip.com, 50% of what is there is from other sources. Daily Mail UK takes from other sites, re-writes and give credit. UK Mirror takes from other sites. MediaTakeOut quotes other sources.See the bolded above...The truth is that Linda admits to copying/pasting from other sites. So, Google definitely found her guilty for this in the copyright case before the "big G". And to add insult to injury, since the Blogger Linda is operating on also frowns at Copyright Infringement, they gladly deleted the blog. So sad |
