TV/MoviesAn Open Letter To AY On "30days In Atlanta" (pictures) by Freest(op): 8:37pm On Mar 21, 2015
I want to first and foremost commend the Nollywood industry, though i don't watch their movie due to amateur production's and all the many lapses, but they have done well in their capacity to move the industry forward.
I heard of this movie '30days in Atlanta' acted and produced by AY and Ramsey Noah. watched it of recent and i was wowed. Haven't watched a Nigeria movie in a long time and the last i watched and enjoyed was "Mr and Mrs" and that was a long time now until this movie. 30days in Atlanta is one movie I've watched thrice and just don't get tired of watching. I really commend the producer's, directors, actors, and all that put their acts together to make the movie a success... Its a step in the right direction. Let's keep it up. If we keep producing good and quality movies like this trust me, alot of us would be Much more interested in our own movies than others. We've come to a certain height in the industry, we could actually do better to take the industry to the next level, let's try and make it compete favourably with the American owned Hollywood. On my part, I'll love to as a matter of fact start seeing our Nollywood movies and hope to see improvements. Once again, 30days in Atlanta is commendable and applaudable. God bless you and keep doing more. Keep making Nigeria proud.
Long live our actors,
Long live Nollywood,
Long live the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

Honestly, I commend your effort for confronting him. You're an adult and knows what's best for your Mum. From what you wrote, I guess presently you can't live on your own comfortably and still depend on Parents support. I advise you make use of the opportunity. spend time with your Mum and keep her company. Your dad is still your Dad, just give your due respect and nothing more he doesn't need your attention or help for now until he's accepted what he did was wrong. You can just be scarce at his presence but don't Park Out if you cannot find for yourself yet. Don't make the mistake out of anger. Be Patient, Hard Working and it'll reward you and you'll one day be a proud father. He made that grave mistake but he's still your father you can't disown him the Silent treatment you'll start giving him is enough reason for him to know he is wrong and not setting good examples for his kid.

Start letting your siblings know the right thing about Domestic Violence. Enlighten them so they don't just see you as the Bad egg. God'll help you. Don't Park out if you cannot comfortably live on your own please.
Thanks dude. This piece is really appreciated. i work, i earn, but haven't been able to move put cos of some projects am currently doing plus am earning not so much too, hence my staying with them till things fall properly in place

Oh! You want to teach your father a lesson? Your anger is taking the best out of you. You should remember that anything you do to that man today, your child will replicate tomorrow. The curse wey go follow you ehn, na only him go fit remove am
There is a part of the Bible were parents are not supposed to provoke their children to anger. This isn't the first time popsi is slapping me. He has done it some years back. That one was even in public in our street. Everyone even ladies alike were watching. Then i insisted on moving and going to crash with a friend for a while before i can stand properly, but mum knelt down and appealed that I stay until i can move properly and not under this circumstances. Now this again...

U're just angry dats y u're asking 4 such. I'll only ask u 2 ask God 2 help u manage d situation, instead of seeking revenge. As 4 ur mum, its so painful such a thing had 2 happen 2 her, console her, but if d thing becomes a repeated actn, I'll advise u find a place 4 her 2 stay so he doesn't kill her. My mum has been in abj 4 over 10yrs nw, cos of work&I thank God 4 dat cos, she might have died 4rm battery. Even now dat she's planning her retirement, we her children are planning 2 get a place 4 her in Akure so our fada doesn't kill her 4 us. I can relate perfectly with ur situatn, just trust God, even myself I'm just begging God 2 get enof money 2 get an apartment&live on my own with my siblings till dey each get married. Staying with him is a nightmare. Urs doesn't sound like its not a constant thing like mine, nywys don't take ny actn nw cos u're angry, ask God 4 peace cos ny actn u take, u might regret cos u did it in anger.

It is well!
Thanks Boss. Its good to hear from someone that has same experience. Maybe I'll just keep my calm. but staying, i don't think i can bear anymore. will just hv to move

First of all OP how old are you? Is this the first time your pman is slapping your mum? Did you even ask mom what happened before confronting dad?
Well, am not a kid as I'm in my late 20"s. Also from their conversation i guess it was bent on just meager stuff like the usage of food which in my opinion its not enough to hit someone. That normally wouldn't warrant such but i think he was already not in a good mood all morning. Its not the first time anyway, but the the last time was a long time. i mean many years ago...

FamilyI Confronted My Dad For Slapping My Mum, And Got Slapped In Return by Freest(op): 7:59am On Mar 20, 2015
It happened this morning oh, was bathing and prepping for work when i heard my dad at the top of his voice, before i knew it i heard mumsy crying, he had slapped her. Am in the same house( Haven't been able to move out yet) and i couldn't just bear my mum crying so i went to my dad to tell him what he did was not right. He is almost 60 and so is his wife, at that age you slap your wifehuh i was trying to use the voice of reason as i was angry but kept my calm (Who wouldn't be angry seeing his/her mum cry?) before i could finish explaining and appealing to him i received from his left hand of righteousness a resounding slap... it got me confused as i didn't know what i did to deserve such. I didn't say anything harsh nor abusive. Am angry but didn't wanna return that slap nor say words I'll regret. I told him I'm moving out and he just lost a son, he replied that i wont be missed. I wanna do something he'll never forget, before i leave, please i need advice as it dented my personality even amongst my younger siblings and neighbors. I really am confused on what to do before moving out. Am so pissed now
pls sincere advice. thanks

FriedPlantain:
I understand it is a joke but in reality, the company would have to be insanely crazy to employ someone that disregarded professional ethics by hacking into their own system just to pursue his personal interest.

Once he is employed and privy to more info, he might probably hack into the company's classified information and sell it to the highest bidder or he could even do worse by siphoning the company's fund!

Friedplantain
If you want to secure your valuables, then give it to the likely thief to keep for you. Its simple logic. That guy will actually be the best person to protect the company's interest as he knows all the the skills proposed hackers will likely use. All you need do is pay him well...

I've got this interview with a federal coy that I'm preparing for, and Nigeria as we know need Federal characters to push things. Just got the opportunity to meet with a minister of the federal government tomorow and i don't know what to ask of him concerning the interview. So please which is more effective for those that have had such experience? which would be easier to influence employment? What should i tell him i need? signed complementary card? reference letter? put a call across? please help out as its urgent!
thanks...

Jobs/VacanciesRe: NNPC Aptitude Test On December 6, 2014 by Freest(m): 6:29am On Feb 25, 2015
emmanuelmodo:
If u ask me, I will suggest u tell them the truth. The conditions given for applying were at least have a BSc with a 2:1 or a 2:2 with a good masters. That was the minimum. That is their minimum. The only maximum they gave was not more than 29 as at the time of applying. So u can further as much as u want. Their business to me is did u meet the minimum requirement. Look at this from this angle, for instance u applied when u were 28. It is like telling them u are still less than 29. Which obviously isn't true. Just be as sincere as possible. God will help us
I actually think you should not say anything till they bring it up... but you should not bring it up. Just let it be. If perhaps during the interview they now ask you what you have been doing this three years, you can now tell them u have a higher degree but being that you applied with your Nd you didn't want to mix things up. I guess than you didn't lie. They will now know the decision to make from there. But it wont be nice for them to know you didn't further... yet you cant just go there and want a redress by telling them you've upgraded. they may already hv decided the number of people wanted from each category and have made a list, so altering it just for you that day may take processes hence the easier thing to do rather than waste time is disqualification. In my submission, dont bring it up unless they do. If they do, tell them the whole truth and assure them you don't wanna mix it up

that's my submission!!!

Hi guys, I need some help here. I quoted the comment above because of the similarity of my position to it. I suffered the same fate as this guy with a reputable MNC but unlike his I was @ my penultimate at the Uni when I applied to them with my OND some hw they found out I was in school going 4 a higher qualification and that was my interview for the day.

The Nigerian interviewer kept asking hw I wud feel if d company employs sb with a Beng as my Boss and I'd have to ans to him/her seeing that I will be having same qualification as my Boss. I explained but I guess it wasn't enuf and so the rigorous 3 stage recruitment ended @ d last stage for me.

I brought this up because I may be facing a similar challenge as I applied under OT in 2012 with nnpc but I nw have my Beng. To be clear on my question, should I keep this away from them huh

Hoping to read ur thoughts on this and thanks in advance.
Experience they say is the best teacher... You've experienced it first hand and need not be told that it will repeat itself.... My honest opinion is that you should not make them have any clue that you have upgraded your educational status. I am in the same leauge... I applied with ND but now have upgraded but there is nothing one can do until you get into the system before ypou can work your way towards getting promoted.. Firstly, thrive to enter before talking of upgraded result

Thats my humble submission

I understand all this! Most firms don't even have such time to go through that long process of verification from schools. Did you read where he said it was after 3 weeks of Resumption he submitted his certificates? but you did submit your documents first right? Then went through medicals before finnaly getting your offer of employment? Then Induction if any!!! That's what I'm saying! Then within six months, the firm can now start verification of the certificates you tender. That's all.
Guy mhen!!! Obviously you seem not to get the point... You're calculating things and checking if they add up... That's good in itself, but I want u to know sometimes it doesn't just go normally nor as usual...
Didn't you see the part i said a top human resource staff stood in for mehuh

Sorry to burst your bubble but i have done induction with 2 different blue chip companies BEFORE verification of CV and Certificate. Most Companies allow this because it takes a long time for schools and previous employers to send feedback and some don't even bother to reply them at all. If they wait for Verification before they start the induction process it might result in their recruitment process to taking more than 1 year. Companies do sack employee after verification turns up undesirable issues.
Thanks for the consise explanation... Though i don't know what the case was as at that time, but i sure knew God helped me through it... People find it hard to believe and i don't know why!!!
