jess5: The more reason Nigeria should be ashamed of itself. Since the British economy will collapse without Nigerians who helped them in building Britain and making it livable, don't you think it's time Nigeria stop worrying about the British economy and make the Nigerian economy strong just as they have been doing for the UK till date?

Why are honest Nigerians working hard to build British economy while they abandon their own country?
oga cho knockle for that, how brilliant from you.

Deep Sight: And you really think that every genuine visitor, even with good intentions, can afford to slap down 3k pounds as a bond?
O yes, if you can afford a to and fro ticket to the UK from Nigeria excluding hotel reservations as the case may be Just for pleasure, then a 3k bond shouldn't be problem, since you will be paid back your money when you return back to your home country. Don't you know that the Uk already made their research, and have discovered that most tourist visa applicants never returned back to their country and the bulk of arranged marriages in the uk are done by this same people? and you are here attaching your decision to impose a 20k bond policy on british citizens to the difference in the per capital income between the two countries, isn't that a decision made from drunkiness?
Travel › Re: FG To Impose £20,000 Visa-Bond On UK Visitors by Freiburger(m): 6:43pm On Jun 25, 2013
Deep Sight: You don't understand national self interest. I am not interested in their intentions at all. I am only interested in protecting my citizens interests. Thus I will employ very severe tit for tat diplomacy to save you, and Bimbo, Emeka ND Amina down the street from this measure. Shikena.
I will go even further!
Look, Nigerians who are travelling to the UK for genuine reasons will never be affected by the UK policy since they will be getting their money back, it only affects those who are going there with a different intention, how does it affect them? by simply inflating their travelling cost, and these are the people you claim to be protecting their interest. This is what you should do, stop being greedy, fix up that economy so that your citizens wouldn't have any reasons to travel abroad and live illegal there, isn't that logic?

Deep Sight: Unless you are ignorant of the Nigerian Corporate and Business circles, you would know that tens of thousands of Brits have to visit Nigeria all the time for business purposes. Big Business.
Yes, for big purposes and not with the intention of overstaying their visas.

Nice one bro, clueless government using sensitive topics to brainwasch the people just to hold on to power. Anytime i vist that country tears that i cant control pour outta my eyes in the first 30 minutes before i leave the airport. And things are getting worse from time to time. undecided

coogar: how would they go about this change?
they need to go back to lagos to marry a brit. they must spend about 20 years to qualify for long stay application. they cannot work, they cannot school and they cannot even rent from housing agents. so what's the fuss?
Thanks for giving details on how the proper channel functions, But only a few Nigerians are willing to use that channel, most just believe once they are in the UK they are in there, and every other way foward is a way, we all know how it affects our reputation. If your are willing to pay a million naira just to obtain a UK tourist visa with the intention of overstaying your time there, then an additional 3,000 pounds shouldn't be a burden to you. If the Nigerian government feel they can reciprocate on that with a 20k bound, they should go ahead with the plans as long as it improves our ecomomy.

Coz you are silly like him. How many UK celebrities come to Nigeria purposely to give birth for citizenship? Gej should also impose the same rule on US citizens. It takes a blind folk to be fooled by a weak/clueless leader.
