PoliticsRe: What Labour Party Twitter Page Tweeted About Peter Obi In 2013 (Picture) by Fren232: 12:05pm On Apr 29, 2023
Why was Peter Obi hated while he was governor. This is not a partisan question, I'm really interested. A lot of people supporting him now hated him while he was governor. There are proofs on Facebook, twitter and nairaland.
Governors of Anambra after him- Obiano and Soludo also don't like him. Nobody that worked with him while he was governor actively campaigned for him.
That's why I'm very skeptical about him. It seems like he is being whitewashed same way Buhari was.
PoliticsRe: Obidients Vs Batists: The Post-election Tussle Between Tinubu And Obi Supporters by Fren232: 12:58pm On Apr 21, 2023
If there is one thing I hate about this election, its the way it turned Nigerians against one another. Before now, people were free to vote whoever they want and opposition focus their attacks on politicians. But now, fellow citizens are been bullied because of their choice.
It is well........

It takes a lot of intelligence to construct English grammar the way you just did. I salute your command of English.

I am not a politician but how I wish this your brilliance is channelled into a force for good. Is Tinubu in his current state really the best leader for Nigeria at this time? Is Tinubu's election victory supposed to be a thing of joy?
That's the thing with democracy, the majority is not always right. You may not agree with the 8m people that voted for him, but they chose him and he won

I have tried to minimise my comments on political election matters...

It is not about people who voted for him. Check the places he won massively. The APC governors played their trick and you know it.

He didn't win Lagos where some people believed he did well.

He didn't win Osun his state of Origin.

He didn't win FCT the nation's capital.

He didn't sweep Kano and Rivers state.

90% of his aides didn't win their states or polling units.

His party chairman lost his state.

Etc, etc...

So who voted for him?

This is the reason there is no joy anywhere after the result was announced.

I believe you were shocked that he won because there is no reason why the party would win the election with all the negative impacts it created in the past 8 tears. It's like re-enforcing failure.

But it is what it is.

Only God can help Nigeria now, as the people, the masses are helpless.

The politicians, the elites will put their likes in power to sustain the status quo, and there is nothing anyone can do about it. Or so it seems.
He lost Lagos by just 20,000 votes. He did well in every state either winning or coming second, apart from the Eastern states.
You can become president in a 3 horse race without winning any state as long as you come a close second in all the states.

Why are Nigerians developing High BP debating over the presidential candidate who came 1st Vs the one who came 3rd? Millions of Nigerians also voted for a man who was runner up in 2nd place. As far as i know, there is no uproar about mass rigging and violence by PDP... so why is the debate about 1st vs 3rd? Enlighten me.
1. The case is in court. No amount of online noise can influence court decisions.
2. PDP supporters are realistic. They understand that they couldn't have won with a divided house. So they will just wait for court decision and move on from there

PoliticsRe: GRV Is Back. Situation Report In Lagos Gubernatorial: ARISE TV, 3 hours ago by Fren232: 7:24pm On Apr 07, 2023
One of the wonders of this election is how people thought GRV would make a competent governor.
Let's take a general look at his CV
Secondary school in France, studied in UK, MIT and Unilag. Good academic record, but no career.
Only internship in UK and regular 9-5 job in Nigeria. Didn't rise in his career, didn't start a business. With all the education, zero achievement in his career.
He resigned to contest for local government under KOWA when Kowa was the talk of town, lost then contested for senator under pdp, lost then contested for governorship under LP.
He seems to lack direction or focus, no conviction to stay on a course, jumping from one party to the other depending on which party is making raves

You're very correct..... Most these supporters hate being reasonable and support blindly
Let's wait and see how their strategy will win election. 2027 will be worse for them if they continue like this. They are losing supporters everyday and they continue to double down because of social media hype

If you're supporting Obi just say it...
If you're supporting Tinubu just says it straight up...
Rather than these sitting on the fence and all words...
All the candidates have one issue or the other and some people are not comfortable supporting any of them.
But if you listen to prof, he is more inclined to Obi, but hates his supporters which is what a lot of us have been saying

Obi win and lost big in this election,he should have ran away with those 6 million plus votes, build stronger structure, make alliances then come back but his fans messed things up for him and obi himself is not helping at all, he lost 89% of almost 7 million votes in just 3 weeks, what exactly went wrong in just 3 weeks?

See soyinka advice to obi👇

"Soyinka said his rejection of fascism is nothing new, as on three occasions, he was able to send a message to Peter Obi that, if he lost the election, it would be his followers who lost it for him."
I'm tired of discussing with Obidients because of this. I understand their anger, but it is counter productive.
People keep telling you that you are turning a lot of people off, instead of accepting and make changes, they double down.
I never see this kind sales people before

No, and that's why we need to discuss the attitude of obidients.

It does not negate your point. At the same time, it was a failed party, inconsequential because no one could win under its umbrella before this election (except Mimiko).
I specifically said Obedients and nor LP.
Lp achieved a lot. But obedients is a movement different from the party. If obi had defected to SDP, then Obidients would have voted for SDP candidates. But the Obedient movement didn't achieve any of its goals, APC is stronger at federal and state levels, Sanwo Olu won, Desmond Elliot won. Everyone Obedients set to vote out won. And APC is stronger than is the point of my writeup

Before election, Labour Party only produced a two time governor in Mimiko of Ondo State. At the federal level, they had none. I hope you are not counting Mimiko's senatorial win under ZENITH LABOUR PARTY as that of Labour.

Peter Obi simply made Labour Party, popular and acceptable all over Nigeria.

Issue is Politicis in Nigeria demands FINANCIAL MUSCLES.
And some LP candidates were not that Bouyant like their APC and PDP opponents, hence some Lost. sad

But Labour Party still Impressed! 🙂
Labour Party did very well for themselves, but obedients did not achieve any of their goals

APC was formed by Ex-PDP strongmen like Tambuwal, El-Rufai, Atiku,Amaechi,Audu Ogbeh, etc
And joined with ACN's Tinubu of South West. 😕
Why won't they be able to Remove Jonathan and PDP?

But How Many Politicians worked with Peter Obi?😏

U Guys should throw out ur Bias/Sentiments!

Labour Party has DONE WELL! smiley
I think our disagreement on this issue stems from difference in expectations. I thought that APC will bleed. I expected BAT to win, but maybe lose one of the houses or APC perform poorly at governorship election. But comparing before and after, it seems APC is stronger, hence my disappointment

Where was PDP? undecided

Just Rest, Plz. 😒
I think we can agree on that. PDP was a weak opposition. APC did the opposition work very well before coming to power. But pdp is still the main opposition for now

APGA is a pro eastern party, Labour is more national. Mimiko won 2 terms under Labour b more than 10 years ago. LP has some federal seats before this election cycle.
There was a Labour party before Obi

I intentionally left out my tribe and preference so far and you are already insinuating I'm an urchin.
All those seats you mentioned would have been won by PDP. APC wouldn't have won any of them. By winning them instead of PDP, you make APC stronger.
Ask yourself this question "since Tinubu knows that I would never vote for him, who would he want me to vote for"? You are exactly where Tinubu wants you to be

For an 8months Party, Labour did EXCEEDINGLY WELL. cool

They won lots of House of Reps seats, won Senate seat in FCT and some house of Assembly seat in some states.

In my Delta, a relatively Unknown man from Labour Party (Etanebene) won HOR seat against a strong PDP woman who has in Politics since 2003! shocked

So LP did Good! 😎
You are making my points. Check all those seats, they were formerly held by pdp. You weakened pdp thereby strengthening APC. Revolution is to weaken the ruling party not the opposition.
You barely made a dent in APC's position

It's not true, you can't bully the powerful. Unless you don't know the characteristics of a bully. People with no structures, no political sponsorship and nowhere near the corridors of power or had any advantage can't bully but can only make their voices heard.

At a point APC supporters could not freely campaign online.

Just summarise the sentence. It's a hate feast. It's all about hate and bigotry on anything about Igbo and Igbo people.

Any project headed or championed by an Igbo must be given an ethnic colouration by most Southeasterners, especially Yoruba politically oriented thugs (we have so many of them on Nairalandand, Twitter and in the slums), just to defeat it. They feast on our national faultlines to achieve a political end to the detriment of the whole country.
Okay, let's leave the southwest out, did you convince enough people in southsouth or northcentral? Or are they also tribalistic?

Can't you just give up your insincerity and stand on the side of the truth for once?

With so much embedded and unconscious hate and bigotry, I don't know how you find joy for a living. It's not that it makes you better, richer, more influential powerful or more placed than any average Obidient just that you derive satisfaction, not joy in some dumb warped ideology and none existing supremacy battle in ethnicity and religious philosophy.
Apart from the tribal issue in Lagos in the last 2 weeks, for most part of the campaign period, Obedients were the bully, and people always celebrate when bullies lose. As long as you guys continue to defend your actions you won't learn and won't make changes.

PoliticsWhat Did Obedients Achieve? by Fren232(op): 7:55am On Mar 21, 2023
Since election is now over, I did of comparison of before and after to see what obedients achieved.
Senate before election:
Apc: 59 seats
Pdp: 40
Apga:1
LP:1
NNPP:1
After election:
Apc:: 57 (possibly 60 after supplementary elections)
Pdp: 28
LP: 7

HOR before elections:
Apc: 197
Pdp: 124
NNPP: 10
Apga:5
LP: 8

After elections
APC: 162 (might get to 180)
Pdp: 102
Lp: 34

Governoship before election:
Apc21, pdp: 14, LP:1
After elections:
Seems APC will have more seats.

Despite all the "soro-soke generation" "they messed with the wrong generation" noise APC barely felt the impact of obedients. Revolutions are supposed to takeout the ruling party not the opposition, but pdp felt the movement more than APC.
Looks like APC is now stronger than before because their main opposition is weaker.
Either APC did not fail as we all assumed they did or obedients had a terrible campaign.
I hope for another youth movement in 2027, but better channelled. Bullying and abusing does not win votes.
PoliticsRe: INEC Releases Names Of Senators-elect (see List) by Fren232: 10:17am On Mar 07, 2023
Despite all the social media hype and hatred for APC. APC seems to be doing better. They had 59 senators before and have now won 57 senate seats and possibly 60 after supplementary elections.
LP did more damage to PDP than to APC.
APC won presidency, retains majority in both House with possibly more seats in senate, I think fewer seats in house of assembly.

I do not think it is wrong to legitimately criticise a pastor or point out their errors. Abuse is uncalled for
But what get me angry is pastor abusing and criticising people especially politicians but start quoting scriptures when they are also criticised.
