netpro:Obidients made a lot of unnecessary enemies for Peter Obi. Most people have no issue against Obi but against his supporters. Plenty people are waiting for them in 2027, I wonder how they will campaign after insulting everyone. |
[quote author=aybabz101 post=126313296]The illogical approach Nigerians do use to approach national issues is baffling! This man has never supported Tinubu just like the picture showed.... He is a preacher of facts and logic He said he was once a believer of the hypothesis that "Tinubu didn't attend or graduated from CSU" To confirm this hypothesis, he went to the school itself and spent a total of US$4k in doing so... He found out that Tinubu did graduated from the school When this issue became a national issue, he came forward to state his findings.... is there an offence in that? so he shouldn't say his findings because he is a PDP member? what do y'all really want? to hear that Tinubu didn't attend CSU? You failed to believe him but always believe whatever shit Rufai Oseni says without findings and facts to back them up? Y'all are just funny! They are funny indeed. They have made up their mind and nothing can change it. Anyone with opposing opinion or evidence must have been paid. |
Let say you have high blood pressure and using amlodipine, you can get in in any pharmacy in Nigeria without a prescription. In canada for example, you need to visit a doctor to get assessed and then get a prescription as it should be. There is a reason those medications are called prescription only medication. |
Geopex:!!!!!!!!!!! |
sms4sure:As long as the mob supports Obi, he can never be president. They keep making unnecessary enemies everyday. |
Ttipsy:Almost every state in SW has appointed non yorubas to political positions. Lots of Igbo in civil service. This appointment is for grass root development. I cannot be local government chairman of an LG in Kano, doesn't make any sense unless I grew up there. Rishi is British with Indian ancestry. He was born and grew up in UK. Not similar at all. |
This is not tribalism, just common sense. It is a grassroot position, does not make sense to give it to an outsider |
My thoughts: 1. Is it okay to do something illegal for good reasons. Coup is illegal according to the constitution of every country 2. If the end justify the means, then where do we draw the line. 3. What level if illegality can pastor Chris tolerate 4. Can you judge people's response based on possibly paid crowd 5. How many good dictators has Africa produced? 6. If the coup plotters are popular why not contest for election. |
Swissli:He might even go to heaven. There is no justice in this case at all |
People are celebrating tax evasion. That is parasitic. You make money in a state, put pressure on the state's infrastructure, but contribute nothing to it. There is nothing symbiotic about such a relationship |
inoki247:I was about to type Taraba. I know nothing about that state, never in thr news for anything |
timilehin007:Tinubu has always been admired by people across the aisle. Nnamani a life long pdp man is a big Tinubu fan, Reno might not like him, but he always praises him. Obasanjo, the same. Even the newly elected LP lawmaker was praising him after meeting him once. Most people that meet him always admire him. They might have issues with some news about him, but he is still admired |
What is wrong is wrong. NLC should not be affliated to a party. If your candidate loses, any protest no matter how well intentioned will be seen as partisan. APC will tag any protest as sabotage. |
Danisaint112:Why should APC be scared of obidients? Despite your anger after Endsars, how did it affect APC? You guys overestimate your value. The movement hasn't achieved anything, be humble and work harder |
DaddyJapan:Very correct. I do not think that a president should be elected by plurality of vote, but by majority. If you can't get 50%, there should be a rerun. An election with 4 major contenders will never have support of a lot of people. That should come up at the next constitution amendment discussion |
Tinubu achieved every one of his target. He won the presidency, won both Houses of assembly. Retained Lagos. I'm not sure APC lost any seat to LP, but PDP lost a number of seats to LP Meaning his plan worked perfectly well |
I still prefer channels TV. Arise TV is too obviously biased. Obidients will not agree because they agree with the coverage. Hopefully we get something soon to compete with channels |
I think Nigerians should start looking at other options instead of UK. A country that can vote brexit because of uncontrolled migration from Eastern Europe, despite having centuries of relationship with Eastern Europeans won't mind expelling Africans. UK's policy is so unstable, you can't plan your future with it. Canada and Australia are still the best options in my opinion |
If not for the Muslim Muslim ticket and Tinubu's age, Obi is no match for him at all. He should be compared with Ambode or Sanwo Olu. |
Why ask for it to be televised if not to turn it to a drama. You and your lawyers are in court. Journalists from every station are there to report what's happening. What exactly is the purpose of broadcasting it. |
South West has been in opposition than at the centre. From Tafawa Balewa and Nnamdi Azikwe to Shagari and Ekwueme. Even since 2019 to 2015 SW was in opposition. |
Obi is stuck with Obidients. They really tried for him during the campaign, lots of free PR, million man walk and all that. They ate the reason he did well. But they are also his major wahala. Lots of people didn't vote for him because of their shenanigans and he is bleeding support fast. Most people don't have issue with Obi, he doesn't have too many baggage like other contestants. Most of the opposition he is facing is because of the attitude of his supporters He has to find a way around the delicate situation. |
Soyinka has a good relationship with Obi, likely voted for him. He like a lot of people hate the obedient movement. |
https://gazettengr.com/atiku-unveils-gadzama-ozekhome-17-other-senior-lawyers-for-2023-tribunal-battle/ List of Atiku's lawyers. Looks like if something is not on Nairaland or twitter, some people think it didnt happen |
If we look pass presidential election. APC won more senate seats than before the election, has majority in HoR and won a lot of governorship election. Seems people are not as tired of APC as I thought. These ones are not so controversial like presidential, so they can be considered as a reflection of people's choice. |
I read this news, and it's kind of funny to me The City of Ottawa is hoping to shed its reputation as the “city that fun forgot” by bringing in a nightlife commissioner, a gig previously dubbed as “night mayor.” The role will involve working to promote citywide participation in Ottawa’s nightlife and is part of the city’s first Ottawa Nightlife Economic Action Plan. “The Nightlife Commissioner will require a deep understanding of the nightlife economy and the challenges that arise in our nightlife,” said Jamie Hurst, acting program manager media relations and legislative support. She added that the role requires someone with skills in communication, collaboration, leadership, strategic thinking and problem-solving. The new position follows major cities, including Amsterdam, New York, Montreal and Toronto, in supporting and developing its nightlife economy. The finance and corporate services committee approved the plan during its meeting on Tuesday. Ottawa’s nightlife economy accounted for more than $1.5 billion in spending in 2019, compared to daytime spending of $5.5 billion. “There’s a reason cities around the world have invested in a strategic plan when it comes to nightlife economies,” said Erin Benjamin, CEO of the Canadian Live Music Association, who spoke as a delegate at Tuesday’s meeting. Benjamin says Ottawa is behind other cities in its nightlife planning, but it now has the chance to learn from what works in other areas. Under the plan, the city will invest a maximum of $40,000 to develop marketing tools to promote nightlife businesses and experiences. Establishing a nightlife commissioner role is in part one of two phases outlined in the Ottawa Nightlife Economic Action Plan. Phase one, to be addressed in 2023, also recommends the establishment of a framework for a “Nightlife Commissioner Office,” led by the nightlife commissioner, to support the economy between 6 p.m. and 6 a.m. Another portion of this phase involves considering changes to support the nightlife economy through reviews of city by-laws, policies, procedures and services. Phase two, to be applied between 2024 and 2026, involves several recommendations, including: • Establishing a Nightlife Ambassador Council with industry and community leaders • Developing an annual ‘Nightlife Commissioner’s Report’ that highlights achievements of the nightlife commissioner’s office and nightlife economy developments · Collaborating with Ottawa Tourism to promote nightlife experiences to visitors · Developing a citywide Nightlife Safety and Security Plan for nightlife workers and participants · Developing a virtual nightlife resource centre of tools and resources for new and established nightlife businesses and events · Identifying opportunities to support the establishment of new midsize venues with 1,500-2,000 person capacities for events and live music During the meeting, River Ward Coun. Riley Brockington expressed his support for the plan, adding that there is a clear gap in the promotion of nighttime events in Ottawa. “I don’t think this (plan) is bold and substantial; I think it’s tying together all the loose ends that need to be tied to help promote what’s going on in the city,” he said. Funding for the new position will be included in the 2024 budget https://www.google.com/amp/s/ottawacitizen.com/news/local-news/city-committee-approves-plan-to-bring-in-nightlife-commissioner-to-boost-ottawas-entertainment-economy/wcm/93f886b2-376e-4f86-8d42-161bc9e4e490/amp/ |
