Crime › Re: Woman Beats and Bathes Maid With Hot Water by Fringes(m):
To me o, this incident is a direct result of two things:

- Her boss' (the culprit) dissatisfaction with her own personality, self and life hence her frustration over petty things.

- Low socio-economic wellbeing of the assaulted Beninese girl.

As much as I sympathise with the lady and condemn the wickedness of her boss, I also see this in the larger picture:

The failure of the government of both countries to use scarce resources responsibly for the primary welfare of her citizenry is what exposes our people to all sorts of malady.

Finally, when I bring to mind the revelations in this article by PUNCH, one asks 'Isn't that girl first and foremost an illegal migrant?'

www.punchng.com/feature/super-saturday/why-we-dislike-nigerians-with-a-passion-republic-of-benin-people/

Government or no Government, why do Africans give birth to children they can't cater for? For crying out loud, if that maid were male, and her boss were a religious fanatic associated with Boko Haram or ISIS, that may just be a potential kid-suicide bomber on the prowl, and not just a case of child-molestation. What if the child were strapped with explosive vests and told to go into some marketplace?

By then, we would not be talking about domestic assault on a child, we would be talking of the lives of dozens at risk if such suicide bomber detonates such bomb...

Last Bullet: I believe General Mohammadu Buhari and APC would begin Nigeria's move from our current stagnation in PDP's Babylon, back to the Promised Land.

FeBUHARI.
Sai Buhari.

In conclusion, PVC or no PVC, election or no election, let us do good always and continually pray that God's Divine Will be done in Nigeria.
Politics › Re: My Distasteful Experience With Nyesom Wike (PDP Rivers Guber Candidate)- Pics by Fringes(m): 9:11am On Jan 30, 2015
The OP wrote his experience. It is an unfortunate happenstance.

Wike indeed looks like an arrogant character who would do such without batting an eyelid. Isn't that the former Min for State for Education that could barely communicate coherently in English?

His arrogance goes before him... It is a shame. Public officers should be public servants. People seeking our votes should be humble.

PDP has lost it. Their paid e-warriors would however do everything possible to disconcert the obvious.

To those who query the angle from which he snapped the picture, isn't it obvious that he left his car and crossed to the other side to capture the scene better?

Let us talk about this machine. I like the Elitebook. I however want a highend one.

A larger hard drive for example, 1TB?
A larger dedicated VGA space - 2Gig.
Fingerprint/retina scanner with keyboard backlight?

Please reply here and drop your whatsapp number too.

Politics › Re: Has Anyone Seen The Silly Advert On The Front Page Of Today's Punch By Fayose? by Fringes(m): 10:08am On Jan 19, 2015
Ekiti people are unique people. Funny enough, I'm related to them in so many ways.

They have however shown Nigeria one of their special characteristics, amongst a diversity of good and 'not-so-good' peculiarities of theirs.

They voted out a gentleman because he didn't 'think like the average one of them' even though they acknowledged his monumental strides in office - most especially his first-class and large scale road projects.

They chose rather to vote and return to office someone they rightly call 'Oshokomole' - meaning a man who has an unbridled tongue. A known thug who had been previously impeached from office and shouldn't have contested the election in the first place, ordinarily.

They put their bull back in office. Unfortunately, that office is Nigeria's China shop. We have no choice but to tolerate his inanities.

That is the best man the majority of Ekiti people chose to offer us in Nigeria - at least for now. For crying out loud, this Fayose man won ALL the 16 LGs in the gubernatorial election!

I'll end by quoting from my Bible, 'woe unto the people, when the foolish are in power...' However, people indeed get the leadership they DESERVE anyway. Ayo Fayose is the face, and representative, of the larger percentage of the Ekiti Kete people!

A Muslim cleric will never call Jesus "peace be upon him" (pbuh) a bastard, never.Jesus pbuh to us is a Muslim,Muslim means to submit to God will,He is a noble messenger of God,in the Quran Allah called him the messiah, part of being a Muslim is the must to believe in jesus pbuh.
Do you know he was mentioned 25 tyms in d Quran compared to mohammed mentioned only 5
Do you know that the most honourable woman in Islam is Marian (Mary)
Do you know God dedicated a whole chapter in the Quran for the mother of Jesus pbuh
Do you know that Mary was mentioned in the Quran 32 tyms compared to 18 tyms in the bible
Do you know that the most number of people named Jesus pbuh are Muslim (Isa)
This is Jesus pbuh in islam ,we honour him ,respect him,we follow his teachings. He is our role model
Awesome!

God bless your liberal heart hayzed. Amen!

*N.B: I'm a Christian - half Catholic, half RCCG - but hayzed's comment above is excellent, especially as he seems to be a Muslim.

#ReligiousTolerance is an important virtue that we must imbibe and live with, especially in the glorious dawn that awaits us in the post-GEJ/PDP era with Mohammadu Buhari and Yemi Osinbajo at the helm of our National affairs.

@ dayo23, waiting for your thread on today's campaign
Oby, I asked a number of questions, giving my reasons for them and offering my advice on another sensitive matter.

Dayo23 seems to be on the campaign train and media team. That's why I keep quoting him and asking questions. Pictures are good, but live video is even better.

Dayo23 is in good position to inform the APC Campaign organisation that we haven't been able to watch campaigns live in the last 2 days. He even told us here yesterday that he was unaware of the fact that the campaigns weren't aired live on satellite TV.

I believe he can also answer my questions about when GMB would be coming to my/our vicinity.

Regards.

Bros Dayo, abeg where is the APC train going today? U mentioned Nasarawa yesterday.

When would the train come to Ado-Ekiti, Akure, Lagos and Ibadan? We are eagerly awaiting our General!

Please speak with the media team to see that today's campaigns are on DSTV satellite stations please. If Channels and AIT wouldn't air it, let them consider Lagos State's LTV or MITV - anything would do. Please.

We want to be with you every step of the way till May 29 when, God willing, the General would assume office a second time - in Jesus Name. Amen!

Dayo, please seak with the APC campaign media team. Let them arrange to let us continue to watch have the campaigns LIVE on satelitte TV.

NTA only shows Goodluck's. Part of maintaining the people's psyche is to have us continue to see that we are in the majority, and that this message of CHANGE is popular all over the country.

You understand what I mean. It would boost people's morale to continue to have the CHANGE discussions in our local groups, streets, communities and everywhere we the common people meet.

Having it on TV would not only be advertisement to our opponents about our strength, it would also encourage our grassroot troops to forge ahead with our campaigns and positive discourse about CHANGE everywhere.

*I'm not a politician.
*I bear no political party affiliation.

I however know that Goodluck has done his best and can't do better. He even said today on LIVE TV at Abia that he knows he is growing too old for the office. It tells you the man is admittedly at his wits end.

Mandela was way older than him when he was released from prison, before he toured the world in appreciation of global support during his incaceration, his campaign for South African Presidency, conclusion of his single term tenure, retirement from public office up until when he participated actively in the South African bid for the 2010 FIFA World Cup - which they got with him on the team.

So dayo23 Sir, please reply.
Politics › Re: INSANE CROWD At Lokoja APC Presidential Rally by Fringes(m): 7:08pm On Jan 16, 2015
I can't find it on DSTV. Neither Channels TV or AIT is showing it, quite unlike most APC rallies.

Is TVC on DSTV? What channel is it?

Dayo23, please contribute.

Why isn't this on satellite TV? Some of us are supporting General Buhari and Prof Osinbajo aggressively and can only satisfy our intentions to be with him everywhere on this campaign by watching all his campaigns LIVE on TV. Channels and AIT used to show them until a few days ago.

Today, I could only get to watch PDP's campaign in Abia on AIT and Channels. i still think they would lose anyway - as their crowd were only slightly larger than APC's in the same state - which took place very late at night on that occasion.

It was a HORRIBLE Nigerian Senior National Team display.

Agreed, the Ivoriens weren't top notch, but was that really thr best of 165Million Nigerians?

Is AGBIM really the best goalie that the Nigerian Professional Football League can produce? The Ivoriens ran rings around the 'Super' Eagles, who were only happy stringing a few purposeless passes around from time to time...

That team was dead on arrival. We had better offload Keshi, Amokachi and all that squad. They've definitely arrived at their wits end. It is time for a CHANGE, either of the technical crew or the main Nigerian sport.

It might be time to focus on sports like Hockey or TableTennis, where our own Quadri just emerged the World Best Player in 2014 - something like Christiano Ronaldo winning the Balon D'Or in football...

Who allowed this uncouth fellow here?

Just asking...

For clarity and for the reading populace however, I welcome the indigenous antivirus development. I wrote that earlier.

This afternoon, I attempted downloading the software unto my large memory card using my phone, with which I was surfing the internet at the time.

A lot of people here know that a lot of computer softwares can be downloaded using phones. These software files can later be subsequently safely transferred from the phone's memory card to a computer hard drive.

There is the possibility that my inability to download it was because I was using a phone operating system to initiate the particular download for this Nigerian software - and that was why I indicated the medium I was employing - especially as no other person has at then commented about safely downloading and using the antivirus.

People like 'joromi' above certainly need some more training in civics. Beware, whoever you are, men, like shoes, are in sizes. You don't take presumed facelessness for liberty, as nothing is really secret.

Everyone, every single individual is identifiable afterall - and every man would pay for his actions and inactions - either directly or indirectly, here or in the afterworld.

I tried downloading the 32bit version but got an error message. I repeated the process severally on two different browsers but got no better luck.

The prospects of this antivirus software is good, but is it really functional - and can it be easily downloaded?

Has anyone successfully downloaded the 32bit version, probably using a mobile phone, today the 4th of January 2015?

I'll love to receive positive answers. I have absolute confidence and belief in the ability of the average Nigerian.

Whichever way, more grease, or power, if you prefer, to the inventor's elbow!

My least loved kitchen chore, not worst, because I'm the hardworsking type would be:

- Washing the grater after being used to grate Okro!

The slimy feeling...

The next least-loved would be washing the mortar and pestle after pounding yam and exerting so much energy.

The worst of them all however is washing dishes in a kitchen where the tap doesn't run and you have to fetch water from outside.

Jeez! I dislike that!

I remember Birch Freeman High school in Surulere was totally rebuilt by 80% private funds of the alumni, yes! that's the school Fashola attended too and was the president of the alumni then, nobody posted that in the media but the school's standard can boast with some first class private schools in Lagos in terms of infrastructure.

Eko boys high school is directly opposite Birch freeman , the state government has been disturbing the federal government to fix that school since Tinubu administration if I can remember because it's a federal school, this same school have one of the highest great personalities that finished from that school, what happened ? ? ? ?

Sentiment apart, there is a lot of schools in Lagos than any other state in this country, and I do not expect miracles, development I know is a gradual process which works faster when the top to the bottom holders are not corrupt. You don't expect the state to be omnipresent in the whole of the state at once instead we shouldn't have asked how many life have been touched so far? If this question proof more positive than negative then we should know It's gradually coming to touch everybody and vice versa.

Lastly, let's stop criticising on political divides.
sunboy's post is currently the last on this thread, but it exemplifies the phrase 'saving the best for last.'

God bless you Sunboy.

You were entirely on point. You should be 'Sun-man'. You've got the sun in you. May your sun never set.

My own side of the story.
You posted online that you needed 3 items

and also sent an email to me and i replied you with the price for a toshiba A100 housing(casing), cd rom and a battery.
And you also posted the picture but to my greatest surprise when you sent the laptop it turned out to be different from what you sent to my email and that was the genesis of the delay because the model you sent(Toshiba A205 casing) is very scarce and also far expensive but was still able to locate one for you at the agreed price.
I told you from the onset that i sell laptop batteries, screen, keyboard and that that casing is being sourced from a 3rd party and requested for money for the casing but your so called "3rd party" refused to send the money based on his assumption that i would elope with the money and that laptop that he would send it if i finish it and send him the pictures of the completed job.
I had to convince the owner of the casing that i would pay him after completing the job and he agreed and proceeded with the job.
After completion i was forced to send the true pictures of the completed job and you noticed some imperfection which i explained the reasons behind it but finally insisted we change the clips that holds the laptop when closed.
After much argument you agreed to pay for the clips and told you to pay 1,000 naira for the clips(actual worth is 1,500) and insisted that you should send only 1,000 naira out of the total money(8k) for the guy get the clips and fix it which you finally sent after much argument and reassurance that i have you laptop with me and not elope with it.
That is my own side of the case but before i rest my case i will state it boldly again that i will never elope with your laptop or money because i have a name and brand to protect and i have had clients sent laptops or money from all over Nigeria and everything ended well for us to do another transaction so don't be confused by your engineer, thinking that he is trying to protect you.
I post update of this transaction here tomorrow when you get you laptop.
An online public disagreement of this kind is very avoidable, between two people of integrity.

As soon as this is completed, like a stressful period of pregnancy and the relief which comes after delivery, I guess we would both be very satisfied.

I hope this whole deal closes this weekend, and I'll be back to post my happiness and gratitude to you, my proxy and NL.

Regards.

It is another very inspiring letter from the American National Hero. It is sad that such a great man with such awesome history and brains was felled untimely by the assasin's gun.

Letter to Mrs Bixby inspired the movie 'Saving Private Ryan'.

Don't you have pictures of this charger or yours?

Why not put up the price and picture, specifications and/or model? That would attract more interest rather than 'spamming' the thread to keep it on the section's FP.

I'm currently interested in procuring an inverter. I'm interested in your product - but you must do more public relations on that product of yours than you have done above to attract me or other well-meaning members of the public to invest their hard-earned cash in what they really don't know about...

Don't force people to 'Call U now', show them what U have to offer and simply drop your phone number thereafter - the calls to you would then flow...
