I have learnt to ignore those who specialise in criticizing the successful and have nothing to show for it.

So they hug the internet and run around as paper and internet warriors with little think-abilities. As though they would be half as philanthropic or as reasonable as Aliko if they were in his shoes.

The man is a GCON, shrewd business man and knows the workings of government and governance. That's why he is such an Octopus. He holds a degree in Law too, amidst others. So he isn't talking without far greater knowledge than many critics. You don't go criticizing him in shallow fashion(s) or irresponsibly.

Many religious leaders that many critics virtually "worship" without question may have as much resources as Dangote might have access to yet only a few like Bishop Kukah and Pastor Bakare live almost regular lifestyles while still regularly contributing their opinions to National discourse regularly.

Dangote has already grown a business empire larger than Nigeria. He doesn't need to want to buy Nigeria. He already contributes significantly to our GDP already. What the rest of us should do isn't to criticise his every word and action but to work hard to establish our individual selves too - with God helping each one of us.

Everything we see is controlled by an unseen Hand that controls the Universe - the Omnipotent God. So why focus negative energy, not only on APC/Buhari/Tinubu but now Dangote? Why the baseless bile?

*P.S: I don't know Dangote and have absolutely no links with him/his business.*

A magician, a colossus who bestrode our playing fields...

We remain grateful to you for the many times you gave us something to cheer about.

We might not be hearing much from you in your new administrative capacities as the chairman of the Delta State Football Association but you remain a demigod in the hearts and minds of many.

Happy birthday JayJay - a man so good he was named twice! The true faithfuls at Bolton Wanderers would never forget that chant that went round and round the terraces at the height of your magical abilities in England.

Or your wasping thunderbolt in that 2000 AFCON final match at the National Stadium in Lagos. We might eventually have lost on penalties but we remain thankful to you for helping us get back on level terms in regulation time.

Augustine Okocha Sire, happy birthday!

Just wondering aloud:

Why did Pastor Temitope Balogun JOSHUA and Emmanel TV come to my mind as soon as i saw this thread?

I guess the synagogue bible doesn't contain the part of the General Bible where Jesus admonishes His adherents not to let their right hand know what their left hand gives in charity.

The last time I checked, the Catholic Church was about the biggest charity organisation in the world and one barely has their statistics!

Although many say he acquired his billions, possibly trillions fraudulently, while others say he was a stooge of the Western Powers, I say Moshood Kashimawo Abiola was a prophet.

He remains a man whom though I barely knew while his powers were maximal, I supported his HOPE '93 campaign as a child.

I believe his life, chequered history and death should provide many lessons to us and even to generations unborn...

I'll end with a solitary reference:
In the same album which Sir Shina Peters sang about the hypocritical affection people exhibit towards the rich, he also rendered a track in full praise of the Egba Bashorun MKO. He waxed:
"Maa ko wa je pe o Bashorun" among other praise singing...

The album is SHINAMANIA. The tracks in question are Omo Eniyan and MKO...

Ironically, the same Shina Peters led the vanguard singing for the perpetuation of Gen. Sani Abacha's hold on power and transition to civilian rulership less than ten years after - WHILE BASHORUN MKO languished and rotted away in jail, extra-judiciously kept away by the same Abacha for more than four years. His offence was that he rightfully claimed to be the President of Nigeria after winning the 1993 elections.

No one should say the results were inconclusive or never announced completely. Professor Humphrey Nwosu did announce the results later - after both men's deaths anyway - and Abiola won Tofa cleanly.

Rest in peace ✌ Bashorun. The last Aare Ona Kakanfo

Guy relax. If you have a bone to pick with Buhar, send a PM to barcanista. He'll tutor you on how to be a fairly responsible member of the opposition.

To blame Buhari for this allegation, which is unfounded as of the moment, is at best infantile.

For the first time in recent history, our government had a positive approval rating in all polls.

People are generally saying electricity has improved nationwide and you are there blaming the President when the Director General of the National Sports Commission has previously told the world tha the Presidency approved and re funds early for the games?

I am nt. I am nt a novice when it comes to youth competitions. I have seen several Flying Eagles come and go. I have watched all the Flying Eagles since 1985. I have watched nearly all the matches of these Manu's Flying Eagles and I have been saying it, even before d Brazil game, that d team is over hyped. Quote all my previous comments abt this team.

This Flying Eagles team is nt d best i have seen in d last 30yrs!
Icon4s:
So where will Garba Manu fix-in players like:

Wilfred Ndidi
Kelechi Iheanacho
Musa Yahaya
Chidiebere Nwakali
Isaac Success (Likely to replace Awoniyi)

I love the competitiveness in this team.

Wilfred Ndidi was fantastic at the last U17 and also fantastic during the qualifiers for the AYC. He was not listed for the AYC due to club engagement. I believe he can still break into the team upon return

Iheanacho Benefitted from Bernard Bulbwa's failing of MRI just before the U17 WC. Bernard Bulbwa is back in the team and again kept Iheanacho out of the starting line up for the qualifiers for AYC. Iheanacho might make the squad but might nt make the usual starting line up.

Musa Yahaya was dropped from the AYC due to injury sustained days to the kick-off. He is likely to return to the team, however the coach needs to chose between him and the highly talented Ifeanyi Mathew for the starting 11. (Me think he is more creative, more skilful and more adventurous than Ifeanyi Mathew)

Chidiebere Nwakali was great at the U17. But since after joining ManCity it has been one injury or the other. Coming back to the Flying Eagles he would have to fight for a place with players like Obinna Nwobodo and Ibrahim Alhasan who were virtually flawless.

Taiwo Awoniyi has so much benefitted from the long absence of Isaac Succes from the Team. We know Isaac Success as the arrow head in the attack of that Team. Since after Awoniyi replaced the injured Success in that U17 Group game against Sweden, it has been Awoniyi all the way. Granada FC has not helped matters as they have held on to Success and not releasing him for any of the Flying Eagles games. Taiwo is good no doubt but Isaac Success is better. If he would be available for the WYC and he is in good enough form I see him replacing Awoniyi as the Center Forward.
Baba ICON, I respect you o. Na in I take dey follow you for NL now. If you've followed ALL the Flying Eagles teams since 83, then you must be advanced in years and must be a great sports enthusiast.

That said however, your comment, on a thread you created, describing members of this team in such lofty terms, makes me wonder if you are the same person who wrote both...

Temporarily, let me congratulate Seun Osewa once again for this platform he created.

I woke at 4:45am, hesitated on putting on my generator and disturbing the neighbours. Decided to check here to see if AIT would be reported as airing the game. Found out HERE that AIT isn't.

For the first time ever, I practically stayed awake to 'watch' the game on the famous ' Nairaland Viewing Centre.'

Thank you folks. Shame on NTA/Startimes.

I beg which station dey show this match now. Anyone in the house? I don wake up since o
Bros, no be only you. We plenty.

NTA/Startimes must have harassed AIT with a lawsuit threat or something - to prevent them from showing the game. The mindset is to FORCE Nigerians to buy Startimes.

Personally however, I know such high-handedness never works. Can you imagine if the Flying Eagles crash out early? What becomes of their U-20 World Cup monopoly?

Take it or leave it. Nigerians are already tired of South Africa's DSTV due to its perceived tendencies to exploit consumers. All Startimes/NTA need to do is to improve their quality and output. Nigerians would rapidly migrate.

Don't attempt to force us however. HITV didn't succeed with doing so...

For crying out loud, as of today, I don't think Startimes has the 'INFO' button on its remote control. The option and ability to know what is currently showing on TV as well as what would be shown in the immediate future is one of the most beautiful features of DSTV for ME!

Dear OrlandiOwoh, were you a resident of Awolowo Hall then? I was! It was my last session in the hostels. 3As ran into Awo through the little side-gate adjacent the main hall entrance and raised alarm. Fabro was said to have disappeared immediately!

I lived on block eight "Medical" floor then alongside the likes of David 'Deviano' Adejuwon who was the. SUG President, Segun 'Bombata' Meroyi, the Awo Hall Chairman, 'Denge', the Kegites 'World Chief', John 'Pillar' Monday and a couple of other folks. I feel so bad to have forgotten ' Denge's' real name. He was a great guy. I last saw him in Osogbo years later when his first child was born. We had a clear view of the road and the happenings!

Meanwhile, your moniker is one of the few ones I follow on Nairaland on the sheer basis of the quality of your posts and comments.

I'm proud you are also an Awolowo Hall alumnus and that we were there at about the same time.

I can see the ladies defending their own. honestly either directly or indirectly, the lady is my problem. There was a time I ran away for her for like 2 months to stay with a friend. when I came back, she was still begging me instead of her to vex and go her way.
Mr Oga, don't hide under the fact that you think NL is a faceless forum. it looks like you aren't stupid about your own life - especially with the content of your replies here.

I'm not saying you can't have spiritual problems, or you don't have, neither am I averring that you have. I'm however convinced that you are very weak and might not find any headway soon with the rubbish troops you at giving here.

For crying out loud, what is your concern about women defending themselves? What point are you getting at by buttresing the perception that this good girl - as you personally wrote - is the source of your problem?

Haven't you read the part of the Bible that says a man can't remain in sin and expect God's grace to abound? Didn't you read a comment here where someone told you that you probably carry a special divine unction for which sin that might not immediately tell on other people's destinies would immediately reflect on yours?

My brother, God still loves you men - and He might not have left you to your reprobate mind yet. If I may ask, how many babies did this your 2*365*3 girlfriend abort for you?

Two, did you break up with her irresponsibly after everything or not?

Pls remember the advice that evil spirits might really not need a second episode of sex to. drain you spiritually - so please stop badmouthing a girl who served and serviced you unrighteously but selflessly!

Let me leave you with this: don't fight people who are possessed - Ogbanje/Emere/witch or whatever. I can tell you categorically that they are themselves not happy to be demons. Often times, they are also looking for a way out of their own bondages to Satan. You've however got to get serious first, okay?

Romance › Re: A Touching Story: Am 37 Without A Suitor by Fringes(m):
.
TheSonOfMark:
Truth is I didn't finish reading your story (fabricated or not, but that's not the issue). The fact is that it seems like an all-too-familiar story. We've all seen it happen :

A lady toys with probable suitors that come her way in her 20's and years later desperation sets in. Their desperation becomes written on their faces and in their deeds, the predatory men (most likely males who were exploited by women earlier on in life and who consequently stereotyped females) and the circle continues. We all have our stories.

Ultimately, methinks women are their own problems in more ways than one. BY THE WAY, I HEARD KARMA
IS A BITCH. I GUESS THAT MAKES IT A FEMALES. DON'T BLAME US MALES FOR YOUR WOES.
....Kaycee, the son of Mark.
.

I quoted the man above because although his comment might seem harsh, it is simply a blunt representation of the truth.

You get from LIFE whatever you put into it. You can't sow tomatoes and expect to reap pepper. There is no short cut to life and we would all reap every single deed and every single word. It is as simple as that.

The story-teller loved one man and her mum scuttled it, agreed. God favoured her and gave her another good man. Then she travels somewhere else and chooses to 'enjoy' herself. What did she think? That she would go scot-free? The Mayowa guy didn't need to utter any curses. The curse would 'curse' itself. These matters are real.

I hope young ladies out there learn from this story. Life is no buffet or parade where you take a bite from every thing that comes your way or offer your attention to every single man that can throw cash around.

Like the centre of a Dart Board, you must pick your point, your kind of man and work hard on yourself while preparing for him. You can't be a pepper seller in the neighbourhood market and expect to marry the 30-year old MD of a multinational company. Even if he ever meets you and falls in love, he would consider the embarrassment that marrying you would cause him from time to time because of the vast differences in your orientation and persona.

Suffice to say you can't be a carefree, money-oriented, cheap (body count matters to good men, take it or leave it!) lady, irrespective of your level of education, and expect a God-fearing and responsible christian/muslim gentleman to marry you. It doesn't work that way, no matter how hard you try, except God is specially merciful to you.

Of course, the same applies to men too. Forget that story that 'bad' boys marry good girls. I laugh, deep down, the so-called 'good' girls who get attached to such 'bad' boys know what thy are doing. The only seem 'good' to you anyway, afterall, only specimen of the same specie can conveniently live with each other on long term basis, otherwise, there a clear-cut mismatch would only lead to a horrible marriage and more sorrows for both parties.

'Old school' or 'New School' doesn't matter. You can dance and move your body - as long as its essence doesn't dishonour God. It isn't the dance steps that are sinful, it is the mind that initiates the moves that 'produces' the sin, not the limbs/waist that move in consonance with what the heart has endorsed.

dallyemmy:
Why are you listening to worldly songs?
1 John 2:15 - 17 15

I quoted all the responses that I found expedient for the Original Poster's (OP) question. Essentially, all the answers you request are encompassed in those comments.

I would only add two more Bible quotes:

''So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.'' Romans 10:17. By direct implication, foolishness, death, sin and ultimate destruction, which are all 'Anti-Faith' also comes by HEARING - but hearing in this case, words which do not edify God.

Fair and Simple!
