From Today's Gospel.

"When the time arrived for Elizabeth to have her child she gave birth to a son. Her neighbors and relatives heard that the Lord had shown his great mercy toward her, and they rejoiced with her.". LK 1:57-66

Wait! Did you hear that? "When the time arrived..." it says. There is a time for everything under the sun remember Eccl.3:1. The time for many things in our lives; we do not know, yet in this season of memories; one cannot but ruminate with nostalgia some times in our lives when we couldn't just wait for "the time" to arrive....How does the priest in his silver jubilee feel; when he recalls what he felt for the bishop the time his ordination was differed by six months? How does the mother of three in a ten year old marriage feel; when she recalls what she felt for her parents in the restrictions and sanctions during her adolescence? How does a husband of fifteen years with a loving wife feel; when he recalls what he felt some nights in school living beside a neighbor who was cohabiting? What could be going through the mind of a well earning worker; when the worker remembers the many times Christmas had met him unemployed? What does it feel like to that 39yrs old sister I know, that got wedded this season; when she recalls what she's felt for God and men in the past 18yrs or so? Ah...na wa o, some of us will definitely unconsciously begin the mea culpa as they recall the past, for in our desperation, several regrettable feelings, thoughts and actions took place. Yet, when the time arrived everything fell in place, for God makes all things beautiful in HIs time Eccl.3:11. Indeed beloved brethren, oge Chukwu ga-asuru gi ohia, o gaghi ekwe umu uwa nghota. Just like the neighbors of Elizabeth and Zachariah, your neighbors will marvel and rejoice with you.

PoliticsFashola: Jonathan Constructed More Roads Than Any Other Nigerian President by frodobee(op): 8:48am On Dec 10, 2015
Works and Housing on Tuesday while unveiling his plans praised the achievements of former President Goodluck Jonathan.

Fashola during his first news conference tagged “Setting the Agenda for Delivering Change” said that Goodluck Jonathan has constructed more roads than any president ever in Nigeria.

He also acknowledged that the Transformation in the power sector is above 50 % and that he would try to build on it.

Minister of State for Works, Adebayo Adeyeye, also  said that  Jonathan’s administration has recorded more success in the provision of motorable roads than any other administration in the history of Nigeria.

Adeyeye, who spoke as a guest on Channels Television’s Sunrise Daily programme on Monday, insisted that the Jonathan administration has made considerable progress in the road sector, more than any of the governments that have administered the country.
According to him, the administration in 2011 had about 4,500 kilometres of fairly motorable roads, just as he explained that today the administration has about 25,000 kilometres of very good roads.

Great! But you are still silent on the device giving out the IP Address ...are you using Windows Server or a Linux Distro to do this?
It is windows Server.

bigtt76:
What gateway device are you using? As in how is I Address assigned to the thin clients?

Have you checked if the gateway is actually assigning IP Addresses by using a different laptop on the network?

Also try assigning IP Addresses manually instead of dynamically and see if it works.

I've used HP and Wyse thin clients in the past without issues and yes you need to increase the RAM on your server only if you will be accessing server resources through VNC or remote desktop.
Okay. I appreciate your response. I will try the use of laptop or a different device and see what I can get from that.
Thanks.

What model are you using, and what's the size of the ram?

Also, does it show a steady red light when powered or does it switch to green?

I've used a DELL WYSE before, and this are the common problems I face with that model...
Thanks for dropping by.
I ve checked for the model info on the installation guide, but I couldn't.
But I have a 512mb RAM. But your question made me go over the manual again and I saw written "we recommend to add 256mb RAM per additional THIN CLIENT terminal." Do you think it might be the cause?
And yes the green light come up.

What type of thin client are you installing and what are your objectives (boot image directly from server or run it standalone or access the server's interface via VNC?). What server and OS are you using?
It just has Thin Client written on it, it has no other branding.
My objectives are:
1. To be able to call up local resources at each unit eg MS Word.
2. To be able to access internet via the server end.
That is all I need. It is not going to be used to any special purpose, its for home use.
Science/TechnologyI Am Stuck, I Need Help On Thin Client Installation by frodobee(op): 8:10am On Dec 08, 2015
I have to admit I have not worked with this equipment before, this is my first. I have already finished all the cabling from server to switch and to all the thin-client units.
Problem is, I have enabled IP and I still can't see the server. I am just stuck, I have tried all that my little brain can think up.
Appreciate if you can drop by with your comment/solution.

PoliticsRe: 28 States In Nigeria ‘technically Bankrupt’– Gov Ajimobi by frodobee: 3:29pm On Dec 07, 2015
Adesiji77:
The governor of Oyo State, Senator Abiola Ajimobi, has raised the alarm that about 28 states in the country might have gone technically bankrupt.

Expressing similar sentiments, his Osun State counterpart, Mr. Rauf Aregbesola, also said that the country was sitting on a tinderbox with its army of unemployed youths.

The governors bared their minds at the 7th annual Lateef Femi Okunnu lecture, delivered by Ajimobi and titled: “State financing and over-dependence on oil: issues and challenge,” at the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife.

The event was put together by the Muslim Law Students of OAU.

Apart from the much discussed over-dependence on oil revenue, Ajimobi said that penchant for tax evasion by citizens, public and corporate entities, as well as corruption and disrespect for the rule of law were major challenges facing the states.

To get out of the doldrums, he again reminded the country that agriculture value chain was a neglected potential cash cow that must be revisited.

Besides, the governors said that the country’s fortune could be turned around if the opportunities in solid minerals, information and communication technology, services, manufacturing and others were explored.

Ajimobi said, “Our attitude is antithetical to development. We need to change our attitudes completely about payment of taxes and levies if we must avert the impending economic doom.

“As I speak, I can conveniently say that 28 states are technically bankrupt. The jaundiced view that taxes and levies might be embezzled if paid is an anathema. Public office holders are supposed to hold in trust public treasury. To do otherwise is to court the wrath of the law after leaving office.

“To the youths, I challenge you to imbibe positive leadership qualities such as you have found in our honoree and among other distinguished personalities you have seen or read about.

“You must join the moving train of development and explore information technology positively to advance in the current and future world.”

On his part, Aregbesola was confident that an estimated N625bn and more than N7tr could be injected into the economy on a monthly and annual basis respectively if the 25m youths said to be unemployed are gainfully employed.

The Osun helmsman noted that the creative energy of the citizens, especially the youth, would be activated and unleashedif the states and the country were to respond to the pervading challenges appropriately.

He said, “This will lead to increased productivity and wealth creation on a scale that we have never witnessed before.

“If the 25m youths said to unemployed by the National Bureau of Statistics today decide that they want to work and decently earnN25,000 every monthly it means N625bn new money will enter into the Nigeria economy.

“Here we need to separate between earning and collecting. If the youths decide to work like bulls then we will be talking about more than N7tr new money annually entering into the Nigerian economy.”

Jobs/VacanciesRe: Employment Without Offer Letter, What's Your Opinion On This? by frodobee: 12:39pm On Dec 05, 2015
Bflexing:
I recently got a job from an organization. The organization is doing very ok in Nigeria, part of the top competitors in what they do and even have a good starting offer. They gave me an offer to increase my current salary by 50% which is a good thing, told me to resume after a week so I can resign where I work but when I asked for an offer letter, even though he promised to send it, his look says something different.
I reminded him about the offer letter during d week and he assured me he will still send it. Fast forward to Tuesday, I got his call asking me why I didn't resume....

My question is, can you leave your current job for a juicy offer without an offer letter?
That job is not worth it for you as an experiences staff, I can tell you that.
They might be doing well profit-wise, but badly staff-wise.
And look if you push him to write you an offer, he will write you an offer with clauses you might not stand(stuffs that will enslave you) so watch out if eventually you ask him for the latter and he succumbs.
This is the rubbish the Oluwole brown envelope Lagos-Ibadan media houses churn out everyday. Very nauseating.
Funny people believe it too. From treason to gun possession to now stealing $2billion to #2.1billion to now singing names of accomplices. And the it starts to get salty with names like Peter Obi, Dokpesi, Bafarawa but no names of ex-militants, OPC members, no IG or force person. And why should there be any names at all? Are these not persons who normally should be served papers by the court to come defend there involvement if any? And you that believes these old men will sing at this age with all these money which can buy 20 SANs at EFCC (at efcc's court not Judiciary court) hahaha I laugh.
Wait, in the coming weeks and months and years, you will read more propaganda while real issues of economy, joblessness, corruption and actual prosecution(vis a vis media prosecution), low morale of the military, PMB's disregard for court injunctions etc.

Once upon a time, a foolish farmer caught a thief harvesting his friend's yam.
'I don catch you today. I go go tell the village say you dhey here dhey thief yam'.
So he left and came back with villagers but no one was seen.
Till date his friends suspect he might actually be the thief.

And before you qoute, read and ask questions, evenif it will upset the cart. Seven months is more than enough to come out public with panel reports on each of the ministries what with powers and instruments of authority at his disposal.
