Akinife: I really appreciate the great job u guys are doing....please I need ur collective advised on which is bette. To apply to university of Pouthmouth (masters) by myself or to make use of agents.( please note, my money never beginning grow like grass). Thank you! Why would you be considering agent option. Is it for filling out application form which is self explanatory. Are you going to be getting special privileges with an agent Agent will bleed you dry and possibly not get it done for you at the end of the day. Besides there is more fun and satisfaction in DOING IT YOURSELF. You can do everything yourself mate. It's how most people do it I think |

Heart2heart: please I need your clarification. I have a job offer in Dubai, I am through with the interview and all recruitment processes. We are on immigration preps. I just want to ask. Can this salary offered which is 20,000, diram/month be enough for me to manage a family of four? I don't know the cost of living there. But the salary is $5500/month. I know this is about 1.1milion naira/month in Nigeria. But how good is this money in Dubai considering the cost of living there? I need your candid opinion on this. It depends if this is the base salary. You'll be fine if accommodation is being paid for, children's school fees is covered by the employer, there is car allowance. Rent is quite high, you talking about 6k dirhams upwards monthly for just a 2 bedroom. A good international school will be like 3k aed upwards monthly for the very good schools or you just settle for the Indian schools which cost less. |

Gooci: @ every1, pls I need an urgent response. I currently await my visa to come-out nd av been trying to do some registrations here in Nig. Like I said some days ago, I ws told @ d bank(gtb) that I can use my master card to withdraw money anywia in d world. I plan to do business when I get to dubai, so do I need to activate internet banking(token)
I don't really have much cash here, so I don't kno if its necessary(something I really need for easy business) or the mastercard alone will be good to make transaction. Thank you.... Hi...not sure of the way it works, but best you activate internet banking. From what I can gather, I was able to make withdrawals easily with my gtb master card. It never failed me once. For internet transactions you mightneed that token thing, not sure but I think the only time I used that card for an online transaction I was asked to provide token number. |

ogboni76: @justwise...thanks for this flow of informations, I am at a confused state here bro and I need your professional advice, I have an EX in Dubai, we just started talking again few weeks ago and we are planning to get back together, she has lived and worked in dubai for more than 3yrs now,, the issue now is that sje said something yesterday about me coming to dubai to live and work, she said something about the fiancee visa and we will be living together as couples, even asked me to send the info page of my International passport and a passport picture(sent) now she said I should raise 300k in a week that the visa and processing costs more than 600k but she will support.. Am kinda confused here, I don't know how true her claims are, pls bro ..how true is the fiance visa thing and how easy is it to get, secondly is it as expensive as she claims? I am available on whatsapp..let me know if u need my contacts Hi...UAE has an islamic state frown at the idea of non married couples living together...so lets reason together do you think there will be something like fiancee visa There is nothing like a fiancee visa in dubai mate. There is only a spouse visa or whatever it's called and thats for legally married couples. I don't know what type of visa your ex wants to get for you that will cost 300k that is about 6000 dirhams here. Kindly find time to go on dnrd.ae website, there must be some where on that site that lists the type of visas that can be obtained in the UAE. There is nothing to be confused about brother, your ex is not being straightforward with you. |

ikereku: Hello house, pls I need some information. I just gave birth to my baby daughter at the American Hospital in Dubai, but when my husband went to process the birth certificate to allow us collect a Travelling certificate for me to bring her back to Nig,the said we have to attest the wedding certificate, my husband has to go back to Nigeria on Friday, and I too have to leave by 29th Jan. I've called the embassy in Abu Dhabi with the number on their site, for about 6hrs now, they are not picking. Pls doss anyone here know the process of attestation of marriage certificate in the Abu Dhabi embassy. Do they even do it? Or do I have to send d certificate to Nig, given d short time, this could be very difficult o,my husband is already pissed off. Best thing is send it by courier sharp sharp and just make arrangements for it to be done for you in Abuja and then send back to you. Attested marriage certificate is a standard requirement to get birth certificate together with passports of parents. I think you should be able to have it back here long before 29. Or just scan your marriage certificate and send to whoever is going to do the job for you and then they send attested copy to you by courier. They should be able to attest coloured copy of marriage certificate. Who attests original anyways |

Gooci: pls who could xplain to me how one can go about taking one's wife to dubai.. wat som1 must obtain To get a spousal visa for madam in Dubai emirate you need to be earning more than 4000 or 3000 + accommodation. Once all that's sorted then you can apply for an entry permit at the immigration office for her to join you. Documents you will need are attested Labour contract, dewa Bill, tenancy contract and ejari certificate, plenty passport size photographs, copy of your wife's passport, attested marriage certificate, Emirates id application form showing you've paid the fees and in the process of obtaining I'd card for your Mrs. and certain fees which I honestly can't remember how much. Once all verification is done you will be issued with a pink entry permit for your wife which she will use to come into UAE. She will then do medical, obtain medical results and then you can use this along with all above mentioned docs to apply for residence visa on her passport. |

But you'll have to live in shared accommodation with that amount.Besides you can move on to something with a better pay probably after a year or two with 'GCC' experience. Don't limit yourself. Some sales jobs pay better. I believe there was a time du telecom mobile was offering 3000 aed as salary for their sales position. Maybe it's even more now or less .....with Dubai you never know. Let me just add that you can't live a luxury life with that salary. Dubai in particular is an expensive city. Its going to be tough mate surviving. A childhod friend of mine travelled to dubai 8months ago, he promised to get me a job in d company he work in through an agent. i have made an initial payment of 200k. he has sent me a scaned copy of an employment letter and kept on asking me to be patience that my invitattion letter will be out soon thought its like 4months i made this payment.
1. can it be real?
2. is it possible for him to get me this job there?
3. i am confused as i never thought it will take this long.
ur urget response will be highly appreciated. thanks. Because you gave money I'll say it's a big scam. Your case is the way job scams goes. And it usually involves childhood friend, cousin, cousin brother/sister uncle aunty the list is endless. Anybody can write employment, scan and send to you. You mentioned initial payment, does he want you to pay more money, is there second installment and third installment ? Why would you give someone so much money to get job..and what type of job did he promise you? Don't fall for the lies your so called friend is telling. Its been four months and no job. Let others answer for you. And what is invitation letter?? Your friend should be talking of visa. You really don't know how this works. I would have said do your research before giving him money but too late for that. All you can do is pray your friend delivers. If he is processing visa it shouldn't take this long to process. |

ugsams: I will be coming over to emirates very soon on a tourist visa. I'll need answer to the following questions.
What is the cheapest means of transportation to get to Deira from the Dubai airport? (suggest the possible amount)
What are the names of the most common bed space accommodations, and locations for Nigerians?
Which network has the most affordable data and the code for the dataplan? (I use more data than call)
Is it better to open a bank account on arrival or should I wait until I settle down?
Which airline offers the biggest kg on economy ticket?
@ justi4jesu Monchouchou sonofaGod mystikay and other members of the house. For airlines you might want to consider Ethiopia airlines, Rwanda airlines, Emirates and ethihad, Kenyan airlines, Qatar airways. You can check their websites for baggage allowances and price of tickets and then compare. Opening a bank account might depend on your purpose of travel to the UAE. As a first timer maybe best you take taxi....taxi meters start from 20 or 25 AED from the airport which is equivalent of 1000 naira plus. There is a metro going from airport terminal 1 and 3 to deira city centre - don't know where you intend going in deira. You will have to buy a nol card if you intend moving around by metro and bus. There are only two networks in the UAE - du and etisalat. To be honest I am not impressed with either one of them with regard to data but du might be better. They have a stand at the arrivals section in terminal 1. It's hard to miss when going out of the airport from terminal 1. |

DrDre1: Yes sir. I'm not saying it isn't a scam. I only pointed out some things to help the person understand what we are telling him. Qatar is a mix-bag of so many things. Understand that a scam is usually built on seemingly and even sometimes proven possible events/incidents. That's why people will keep falling for these scams. Sometimes, it's not enough to just tell the person "it is a scam". U have to really explain and sink it into their consciousness valid points and reasons why it is a scam. That said, I only differed with on ur point of wages for Americans/Brits around here. 8000 riyals won't make an American/Brit get on a plane down here to sign a job contract. Europeans from even poorer countries won't take that as well as some Nigerians I agree on the part of americans/brits. No way they will settle for wages of that amount. It wouldnt be enough for their style of living. |
