Two things are overlapping here. Is the matter about

1. being too busy that he hardly have time for her let alone remembering her birthday or

2. he's been having time for her but just forgot her birthday.

If it is 1 then the matter has been piling up and her decision was based on a combination of lots of faults but because the "no birthday call" is the peak ppl will think its bcus of d birthday alone.

If its 2 then she has probably found succour with another guy or shes just been too childish for a mature relationship. However considering how long shes been in the relationship(a year plus), she wouldnt be a child in matters like this. Shes probably yielding to some other guys attractive advances.

Life is more than taking drastic decisions on issues such as this. Even mothers forget thier childrens birthdays, wives forget husbands, husbands forget wives birthdays etc. All she had to do is express disapproval of his forgetfulness and accept his offer to go extra mile to make it up to her. I follow their relationship as much as possible form a distance,and I know the guy is committed to her and keeps incontact with her as much as he can on phones,etc(its a long distance relationship)

It depends on the kinda guy I'm dating... There are people that are not good with keeping dates. If he's one of them then his offence is forgivable but if I'm sure he isn't one them... I wee breakup

He says he does not forget her important days but this particular incident just happened as he was very busy at work and did not even have the time to check his social medias till the next day.

A friend of mine just told me that his girlfriend of a year plus says she is no longer interested with their relationship again.When I asked for her reasons,he told me that he was very busy and forgot her birthday was the day before(this is the first time it will be happening),and when he remembered,her immediately called her to apologise and wish her a happy birthday,only for her to say she was breakingup with him,all efforts to make her change her mind proved abortive;he is distraught and very sad because he loves her so much,buh she does not want to hear of that.

So romancelanders, this is what made me to seek your opinions on this matter,if it really is enough reason to breakup a relationship for something like that...if you ask me, I suspect something else about the girl as theirs is a long distance relationship.

Mrs Fatimah Adebayo, a 35-year-old woman, on Monday urged an Ikorodu Customary Court, Lagos, to dissolve her 14-year-old marriage to Mr Segun Adebayo, over alleged placement of sexual protective charm called “thunderbolt’’ on her.


The petitioner, a fashion designer who resides at Baiyeku Road, Igbogbo in Ikorodu, prayed the court to end the union to safeguard her life.

Fatimah further said Adebayo had assaulted several times, adding that he was a threat to her life.

“My husband laced me with thunderbolt, known in our local parlance as `Magun’.

“I got to know through an old man in my area and through my father when I was sick.

“But I smartly lured him to sleep with me. On that fateful day, after making love to me, he tumbled twice as I called for neighbours’ help.

“Besides, my husband beats me, he does not trust me and he does not take care of our children’s welfare.

“Please save me from this marriage as living with him is now dangerous for me. This is because he can kill me,’’ she said.

When asked to comment on the allegations, Adebayo, 43, prayed the court to allow his counsel speak on his behalf.

However, Mrs Omolara Abiola, the President of the court said it was important to either debunk or accept the allegations before a third party could come in.

Abiola adjourned the case till March 7, for further hearing.
