gawu1: I think this portion should be covered with carpet grass. It would have beautify the place more. That is the plan as you can see a fountain is being constructed and most likely grasses will be planted. |

Ykc2: that's why Nigeria will still remain backward till this world come to an end, ganduje supposed to be cooling of in prison by now if Nigeria is not backward My brother we are talking in relative terms here.. Ganduje relative to most (99%) of Nigerian governors has done well ...'apples to oranges' And by your logic all Nigerian politicians deserve to be "cooling off in prison" And yes I agree with you Nigeria is indeed a very backward place .. |

Gnaeusmagnus: It's all very nice...but there is a problem
The issue is, how would the funding for the continued maintenance of the hospital be sourced??
The money we earn from oil, even when prices are high, is not enough to keep this hopsital well funded...and don't talk about agriculture...because most farming in Nigeria is subsitence, and less than 10% of our farming is mechanised...so there is no way we can compete with the agricultural powerhouses in Europe and elsewhere....
So, either Kano state people pay higher taxes down the road, or pay higher hospital bills, or watch as the hospital equipment breaks down because there is not enough money to fix things.
The UK spends 130 billion pounds on health annually. Nigeria spends less than 3 billion on health. And the UK has that money because they don't rely only on oil. They rely on industry and innovation. Here in Nigeria, we rely on sharing money. Instead of industry and innovation. Even the cry for restructuring is not a cry for developmet...it is a cry for more money to chop. I see where you are coming from... Finance has always been a constraint for the entire country ... Nigerian national budget plus state budget combined is still tad higher or even less than the 130 billion you mentioned spent by UK on health care alone. But that those not mean government shouldn't build facilities whenever the need arises As for financing, Kano has a contributory health care system introduced by Ganduje where workers and the state government contribute to finance health facilities across the state .. |

geektrovert: This night when you are about to sleep, take a deep breath and say to yourself:
"At least I met new friends, the travelling was exciting, and it was a hell of a phase. It's time to refocus on other jobs, this one is over".
Unfollow this thread, cut communication with anything that will remind you of nnpc for some time, and go do other things - refresh your linkedin profile, revisit myjobmag and start applying, visit udacity and start learning that python, or resume application for the MSc in USA, or even start the Canadian/Australian express entry application.
One of two things will happen - You will start getting engrossed in something much more useful, and better for your life. OR NNPC will wake up after you've forgotten about them - what a wonderful surprise!

This is me talking to myself
7 weeks gone in 2020. Cheers to me achieving something in 45 weeks

NGpatriot: This is what they celebrate in their village, useless governors sharing kerosene, wheelbarrow and cement bowl.
They are bitter and sad over flyover in Kano, but they are celebrating and shouting amaka over dusty and dirty uncompleted village road..
How sad.. Trust me I longer reply this people anymore cos it's glaringly obvious how hateful and bitter they are when it comes to development in this part of the country.. Just imagine shouting Igbo Amaka on a dusty road and with zero knowledge on the need for such project criticizing a working governor for providing solutions to congestion and economic losses as a result of heavy traffic along shahuci and providing murtala Muhammad hospital (the single largest hospital by patients in Kano) ambulance service a lifeline to by-pass traffic .... Nigeria is a very interesting country indeed

Muhammadu Buhari Academy, for children orphaned by boko haram commenced academic activities today in Maiduguri .
Many a Governor would rather start new projects than to kickstart activities at those constructed by his Predecessor. We commend Gov.Zulum for selflessly sustaining the signature projects of the KSM Administration of which he was a Pivotal Anchor Person.
