Thanks all for your wise contributions. The thing is I only came to know that the loan is still on ground. My Bro sold his bus somtime ago and I also sold my Shares i my final year thinking were upsetting the loan, only to be told its been accumulated interest we were paying. My mistake was not finding out in detail the true position of things. Anyways ur suggestions are well noted.

secondly on two of us are earning a decent living. Though still praying for better jobs.
Mum is scared of negotiatin seems these market people have a hold on her or somthing. I have since made my stance that I will only be involved in settlement of the principal.

My sister has volunteered to go with her for any for of resettlement and from their we'll knw what to contribute monthly towards final settlement of the debts.

My fear is if they refuse, then what will be our next step? I am even thinking of asking her to file for bankruptcy i.e. if that works in Nigeria.

There is this issue that is almost tearing my family apart. We live in the eastern part of the country. My siblings have all graduated and our father is retired, while mum trades. The issue is that she secured loan from her market union some time in the past when we were all in skul- as dad could not shoulder the resposibility considering his meager salary. The loan comes with a very high cost. several years down the line the amount borrowed is now 10x the original sum as she had cause to borrow some more to service interest due in the past- mistake number two.
The issue now is that my siblings and I are married and struggling to make ends meet (though a bit comfortable). Mum is yet to stop borrowing just to meet up her obligations which is not abating anytime soon.

Can some please advice us the kids on how to put a stop to this indebtedness as it is really a source of concern to everyone in the family.

I have been experiencing boils around my private part which is giving me course for concern. I have taken lots of ampiclus and it keeeps coming back. I am married and dont sleep around. I had beta go to the clinic to consult but wont be chanced till weekend. Any Ideas on what might be the likely cause?

Well said sir @ emmy. I can see nw that the problem is our errorneous belief in govt recruitment process. I had talked to my friend but wanted to be sure I gave a good advise. He is following the thread n should be able mak an informed decision.

But If your friend has a good result and earns a good salary, then ask him why is wants to bribe his way into NNPC?
My opinion is that only those who dont deserve something will bother themselve to pay their way to get it. You wont possibly want to pay for something you deserve.
Pls tell your friend to be contented with his cool salary and desist from bribing.

emmysam2: You mean your friend did not apply or undergo any recruitment process in NNPC and expects to secure a Big job as that of NNPC just by paying a token? Please who is a bigger fraudster... The man that is asking for money OR your friend? I always say that only the gullible and the greedy are the victims of scams.
For the benefit of doubt, there are Standard procedures for employment in govt establishments. NNPC is one of the juicest govt establishment and recruitment therein are taken seriously. Freshers (Entry level) requirement is strictly First Class or Second Class Upper at the least. Second Class lower is only accepted if a candidate has a Masters OR not less than 10yrs working experience. Here, quota system also thrives. A candidate may meet the neccessary requirements, undergo the recruitment processes and still not get NNPC job - (based on quota). This is not to say that monies dont change hands in the NNPC recruitment processes. My take is that when such arises, the person asking for money to help (usually a top level officer) would have assessed and seen that the candidate has met the required qualification, undergone neccessary processes and stand a good chance of securing the job even without internal help. (in which case, the candidate may have likely secured the job even without paying). what he may have done is to influence and ensure that the candidate scales through in case where the quota system becomes competitive.
I am almost certain that your friend in question does not have a First Class or Second Class Upper. He is likely not to have up to 10years working experience either. Worse still, he may not have applied for the NNPC job. Yet he believes he can secure NNPC job by paying someone? Anyway,there is no Harm in fantasizing... tell him to Dream on !
Lastly, anyone paying money to secure a job that he/she did not apply for OR is not qualified for is a big time fraudster, and deserves whatever un-palatable outcome he/she gets.

Working as an accountant, I have come to appreciate mgt accting. Some companies focus more on the financial part whc to my mind shd nt be. Mgt accting information is very essential in ensuring the growth and survival of an org. Does anyone share my views??

there two major accts in a manufacturing coy: financial n mgt accts. In preparin financial accts, d rules re to be followed strictly while mgt accts is dynamic. The creativity in my earlier posts were in d area of mgt acctin. I had to be creative in drawin up such accts dependin on d purpose. Hop I its in line wit current practices?

By creative, I meant lookin at my books and reproducin the methods in my books of accounts. Remember I said I learnt on my own

1st was the issue of drawing up accounts whc I found out was different from what I learnt in school.
I was under constant pressure to deliver meanwhile, I wasnt trained in practical terms. In the long run,
I was creative in drawing up the books of accounts and was commended by the external auditor during
the statutory audit. I now work as an Auditor wch is another discovery of its own.
