Application submitted August 6th
Biometrics and Upfront medicals done same day
Upfront medical approved after 2weeks (two mails sent)
Then the Long wait..
(PPR for all 3 )Nov. 17th

I used Nairaland for everything. I read and asked questions when needed.
I use N7m as POF and submitted all work document and credentials.. then the kids I used my acceptance letter

I almost cried reading this..am so sure you both applied together because if she had waited for SOWP for a year like some people here, you guys won’t have taken such high risk…

What was so important in Nigeria that she had to leave! I honestly don’t know much about PGWP and Spouse but I wish you guys all the best and hope you get all the help you need…

I am feeling so so sad today, please I need your advise.
I recently graduated and I have applied for my PGWP, not yet received for 3months. Last month I applied for SOWP for my spouse because the one she had expired September ending and she went home to visit her parent so she is outside Canada. We were waiting for an approval then she can come back. This evening I received a mail from them that the
"After careful review of your work permit application and supporting documentation under the International Mobility Program, I have determined that your application doesn't meet the requirements of the IRPA and IRPR. I'm refusing your application on the following grounds: . Eligibility for a work permit in this category only applies to the spouse or common law partner of a work permit holder who is doing work that is at a level that falls within National Occupational Classification (NOC) skill levels 0, A, B." I recently got a job but in a Noc C but when the new teer system is implemented my skill level would be changed to a recognized skill for express entry.

Please what do we do now. We are so sad and confused

With IRCC we never can know…People with lower amount have got their visa approved so don’t blame yourself…you did your best.

The duration was so short, just 20days..Dont give up, just repackage and fire back… re applying is a must…work on the funds and home ties and seek advise from one anon123 guy on student visa forum..

Just see this as a stepping stone…God will perfect everything

Am so so sad, my hubby's SOWP and LO applications got rejected!!! Don't know what to do, with over 13m in the account, Has anyone been in this situation?, aside from ordering GCMS notes, what else can we do? Is there any chance of a positive application when they reapply?. Am running mad already I have a 4yrs old son.

I paid my school fees in full through Form A with flywire. I contacted a banker though. I think you should get intouch with a banker, they have the update on banks processing time.

Seriously my sister , I shouldn't have replied that mail, over excitement caused it.

So we cancelled the medical appointment at IOM Lagos for 21st and booked an earlier date for 2nd Nov.

We have sent mails to VFS telling them to hasten the return of his passport so he can do his medicals since it won't be stamped.
VFS sent a vague reply this morning saying his passport isn't ready for pickup. Meanwhile if got to Abuja since on Monday, I wonder what they are doing with it if it's not going to be stamped.

We are patiently praying and waiting, hopefully, it comes back before 2nd of November.

You guys should have waited to get your stamped passport back. ….Max 7days, the passport is back and u don’t need passport to book medicals …so book his medicals now…

There must be a scan copy of his passport, I think it’s just passport number they will need to book…

He only need passport to do medicals not book Medicals…

Book, before the date he is given, his passport will be back


Answer mails, Nairobi nor go answer but are quick to change already approved request to processing…

Pls go and book the medical ASAP…

UPDATE!!!
Before any reply came in here, I replied the mail that he will retake the medicals on 21st Nov as I got an appointment for that day at Lagos. I booked flight for 8th December. He needs to take care of important things so he can't travel earlier than 23rd November.

He also sent his Passport to the Visa office already in Lagos.

Meanwhile, we received a mail this morning telling us to disregard the PP request and to send his medicals to be updated and PP request sent again once he does his medicals.

He needs the passport to take his medicals so i sent a mail asking if his passport will be returned asap with no visa? Waiting for the reply.

will update as soon as i can. The passport request is still there, but the status has changed to 'we are process....', and they sent a medical request letter. Meanwhile, I will check to see if can see an earlier date for medicals but he needs the passport. I dont know what will happen.

I am updating this just in case anybody finds him/herself in similar situation.

2ndly my spouse just got her study visa approved and is to travel next year, is it wise for me to apply for sowp now or wait till she travels and settle down there 1st before I can apply

Let her submit her SOWP application and wait for medical request, that way she can buy time

She shouldn’t do upfront medicals…

However, If she opt for upfront medicals, breastfeeding and pregnant women have the option of sputum test…it’s a three day process and the result are studied in two months….

You can also call IOM to confirm if Nursing mother can do Sputum… Cos someone said just breastfeeding…just to be sure

Whatever you decide, don’t allow anyone to do X-ray on a breastfeeding mother with one month baby….

Have given you the options I know… All the best

We would like to reply the mail by telling them we will redo the medicals. However, we are choosing 21st of Nov for the medicals at IOM Lagos and we are booking our his flight for 2nd week of Dec.
Here is my question please, after the medicals is done, does it need to by updated on his page before he travels or can he travel without minding if it has been updated on his page? Also, if it needs to be updated, how long does it take?

Came to Canada as a student on the 9th of September, 2021.
I put in my hubby's Visitor's visa application on December 5th, when the rave of Visitor visa approval was high, few of my colleagues that put in theirs got theirs approved and mine was refused sometime in March 2022. Refusal reason is home ties and invalid reason for a visit.

I quickly submitted another Visitor's Visa on 5th of April, 2022 as my study permit was going to expire soon. Though I later got extension for Dec, 31st 2022.

I have been waiting for a response even up till now, nothing came. The GCM notes I requested showed nothing tangible.

A friend of mine convinced me to put in SOWP after hers got approved in less than a month. I finally did on the 16th of September.

I was hoping they'd cancel the visitors visa but nothing happened. I was so frustrated so I sent them a mail asking them if we did anything wrong to them that we don't know about

Before that, I erroneously omitted one file during the application so i sent it via webform. I got a message asking for complete details regarding the file and i provided it.
Came back from work today and about to go take a hot bathe when i decided to check his mail. I saw application updated. I rushed to his page and saw medicals updated and I gave a very huge hiss not knowing something else was there. I lazily scrolled down (I always do this before logging off everyday), and I saw application was approved!!!!!

God is never late!!!!! We are grateful and the testimony will get to everybody. Just pray for the perseverance and patience though because reading the mail i sent to IRRC now, it was very polite but it was a frustrating mail with a lirril bit of werey and guilt tripping

Hmmmm it all depends on the best approach that would bring the optimum results oo. Also it depends on your initial explanation and finances. I waited for 1year for my spouse and kids to join me within the one year i visited them in nigeria. And it ended with praise they are with me now. So let everyone map out what pays their situation best and work it out

My biometrics was done in Lagos 5yrs ago, can't seem to find the slip. What do I replace it?

I've downloaded the consent form would sign it and attach.

It's PPR for a family of five ...... ���. Husband (student), spouse open work permit for me, study visa for 2 children and visit visa for my last Child. All glory to God Almighty. It finally ended in praise. Our time line is attached.

I will never advise anybody to apply for Canada visa without their spouse and kids....The long wait is depressing...

Apply together even if you don't need it now....trust me. You will need it later
