I just lost my mff 5k prop firm to daily draw down

Is either you go hard or you go home, that mantra is for Fundamental traders, see bro if you actually wanna secure a prop account, you must be risk conscious,( you can only achieve that by reducing the number of instruments you are trading, 2-3 pairs is enough to pass a challenge for you ) seriously I don't see the rationale behind risking more than 0.5% per position, if you lose two consecutive trades call it a good day and go your way. Losing your account by daily drawdown is for beginners not intermidate trader like you. Anyways the loss is preparing you for the bigger account ahead. All the best!

This is where my trading journey for the year ends like I said before.

My little take, please don't allow anyone to convince you that this business doesn't pay. This profession has change my life for good, I'm now a better, discipline and Godly man. All thanks to fractalfx, gorilla strategy,falcon, phantom,Bystra and ICT.

All I see is a better future for us.

Do you think 0.5 can win a challenge

It depends on your trading plan, if u are that kind that sees setups daily , I think .5% is cool. As for me I risk 1% for challenges coz I can go as far as one WK without seeing a setup.

This tin happened to me this month but my own was a network glitch on mt5 , I opened a position on Nas with 4 lots , d tin still dey process and I opened another 4lots hoping that the first one has not registered. No SL was attached to both positions hoping that it has been been cancelled, after some hours I opened my MT5 . Everywhere was bloody and I lost 4% that day. Currently I'm +5% on the account.

Take it nice and slow you will still pull out, don't be greedy.

So was thinking how the prop traders are coping due to the fact that they have rules and target to meet that was why I asked

I totally understand, is not easy with SMC traders recently, I wonder how people that takes aggressive entries make money cuz 7 out 10 POI marked are likely to be violated. As for Prop nothing changes if you have Live Funded,where the problem lies is if are taking evaluation challenge, currently I'm taking $200k challenge, last month I ended with 5.1% on the account and I got repeat, this month is about to end and I'm still struggling to get the profit target, I'm on 4.3%, I will just be gambling these few days cuz my setups are not coming anytime soon, Incase if I get another repeat I will leave it till next year. My trading for the yr ends on 10th Dec. My Live Funded is on +9% ,ie last month profit and this month.

Hey guys , hop we are killing it on the low? Volatility is fading away. I'm kinda confused, took a Sell trade on EU last night and I was expecting my swap fees to be around -$60 on both Brookers but I noticed that MFF Brooker didn't deduct the fees rather they added $68 to my profit while TFT deducted the swap fees.. what could be the reason.

I don't trade patterns, but from your drawing that should be reversal, an ascending triangle indicates loss of momentum and it approached to resistance level. What did you think?

me that used sl (which was set to b.e) in the contest trade, the b.e. didn't work, I lost roughly 0.35% of the account.

90% of time SL are likely to be skipped during high impact news released. That's why most brokers don't allow news trading.

Bro, that taught me a lesson too. I don't trade without sl but when I did because I wanted to make some money, I lost my funded last week. Funny thing is I've not even made my first withdrawal. The pain no be here but lesson learnt, easier to say though because when the urge comes, it's war, lol. I'm still dealing with the pain, will start again hopefully soon.

You gat some balls, trading funded account without a protective stops? No matter how harsh it might sound, you can never be profitable trader without a predefined risk, you might be lucky but it's just a matter of time you will loose all in a minute,SL kills emotional trading.

If you backtest this boss u gonna shout if u are trading SMC,Every demand and supply formed during 12-1pm are always fake or Serv as liquidity, Some people call it launchtime.

My Fiancee is even complain to my mom, is this what she signing for Is either glue to screen (Trading/Backtesting) or watching soccer. I can't even remember the last time I play with ma sis, but I can vouch that they lack nothing since i moved to prop.

This year is almost ending and I'm doing analysis on my performance (though without a trade explorer) and I'm proud of myself. I started off with $100 and I'm sure to close around $400 or higher.

Last year, i started with $200 and blew it in six months— progress if you ask me. Like I've always said, I'm not in a hurry to "start balling". If my mates dey buy Azul, e no concern me. If dem dey buy Benz, e no concern me.

This year i made about half a dozen attempts to win a prop account (between June and October), i failed in all my attempts. This period was brutal for many of us. Many traders here i do admire confessed they lost accounts too. It pushed me to learn daytrading techniques and yes, i learned. Will i try again? Yes, i will.

Uncle Galleryeasy is already playing prop firms the way i intend to and I'm learning from him—thank you sir.

Why am I preaching? Daddy Gabson said "some people here haff tey in their demo account trading". Part of me believes it's because of lack of focus. One uncle grimmjóe came here to turn $1 to $1b , the other was saying "he has the right to be greedy with the market", another one wanted someone to be supplying him 1000000 pips trade calls and so many other clowns i can't stress myself to mention.

We all watched uncle feshizzy blow his $2k account and he has started again— focus! Na that kind ginger dey motivate son of man.

Academic work dey chop my time and it's enough leverage for me to plan how it will be when we are done with this phase.

There are so many "traders" but there are only few money men in the game. If not, why you wan sell "vip signals" give me? Why you wan sell course give me? If indeed you're milking the market, my $50 no go do anything for you.

You are one of the traders I admire so much in this forum, I might not know your age but have shown high level of decorum here.

Pulling 400% in space of 11 month is crazy man, I guess you are still undergraduate with enough time by yourside, take it slow to learn and unlearn. You know the saying " Forex is the hardest way to make easy money" I wish I knew Currency trading when I was in my 20+. I started late bro, let me say 30 . I had it rough,lost sleep, friends and relationships trying to understand this game, became a loner. Only this yr I have made more than 60% on prop,the plan was to hit 100% before November,no biggie I'm still happy with myself. Next yr I'm going crazy on E8 & FTMO

My little advice is for u to shift from that swing trading to intraday if u have interest of going for prop firms. Keep grinding!

but what I don't understand is that you said you target 1:7RR minimum.. how often do you hit Tp within that Short period of time you normally keep a position open (2 hours)

ain't maximum of 2 hours in open position too small for 1:7RR?

That's why backtesting is important, I trade during equity hours, GU&EU always vomit 40-60 pips during these timing . Sometimes market can be slow, but it happened often. Like the trade I took today but ended up to BE trade, within 30mins I was in 1:5RR, the plan was to close with 1:9RR, but it retraced back to BE... You just need strong trading pysc to be operating like this. Someone will say you are leaving money on the table, but the truth is that I can't change my system, cuz I know is profitable

I trade with time 8am-10am / 1pm -4pm , if I don't see my setups within this time intervals I work away, my open position does not exceed 2hrs, if I didn't hit Tp within 2hrs I will be forced to close it manually irrespective of the outcome. I use very tight SL like 5-7 pips maximum on EU&GU, my target is always 1:7RR and above, I can't go below that, I don't take partial or trail stops, but I break even after breaking structures within the timing. I have a very low win rate ,let's say I win 40% of time, but is gold. I don't risk more than 0.50% a day, sometimes I might go crazy but that's when I'm floating on massive profit. I tend to avoid red folders . I think Timing is more important than price.

is always like that during competitions, keep ya head straight, majority of them will be disqualified, let me shock you I won $100k from TFT during June competition, pass the 2 challenges within a month. The account is still intact with me,. Never forget I cam 4th during CTI competition wea I won $10k live funded.
