Music/Radio / Re: A Thread For Keyboardists by gameboi: 9:39pm On Nov 09, 2014 |
Dramadiddy: well hope u knw ur solo has to have a progression? Then for sad chords.. Well tell me the progression first lets see how sad it goes nd wts the time signature This is not just a one-piece Piano-solo. It should have about 9 different solos and should sound more like a medley. How do you want me to show the progressions I've formulated? Well, the current Progression I'm constructing is a 6-4-1-5 progression(Gmaj) and a 1-7-6-5(Dmin). |

Evening. Presently, I've been working on a 45-minute Piano-solo. And I need suggestions from Y'all. The Piano solo has to be as SAD as possible and it should be a Piano-solo that talks(I hope you all know what I mean). I've been able to compose a 10-minute solo. I need some other parts to add in order to make it longer. The piano-solo I'm currently working on has Looped chords, cadences, blues-influence, et al. Ideas which I combined from Adele's 'SKYFALL', Casting crowns and the rest. So, Like I said earlier, Your suggestions and Help would be welcomed and appreciated.
PS: Please note that the song song should have Modulations using any of the following patterns: 1. C-A-G-E 2. F-A-D-E 3. Modulations in Circles of fourths. |

zbone: what software do u guys use to slow down music u want to practice. for example if u want to practice the intro to a song which seems difficult, what software do u use to slow it down to a suitable tempo 4 practice? Software? I've never heard of that. To score any song, + You should Listen to the song repeatedly till it gets stuck in your head + While listening to the song, take notice of the notes played on each hands. + Find the key in which the song was played in. + recite the voicings of the song you've previously learned. + play the notes of the song. + Transcribe the notes into chords. + If the chords don't sound as the one in the song you've learnt, Embellish the chords by trying any of its Major, Minor, augmented, diminished, Major 7th and Minor7th, Sus2 and Sus4, et al. Dramadiddy and Karleb should have a better Idea. 1 Like |

Music/Radio / Re: A Thread For Keyboardists by gameboi: 11:24am On Oct 29, 2014 |
Karleb: Gameboi bro, why art thou not answering me? Slash chords/compound chords are used to lay emphasis on a bass note rather than the root chord itself. It's another way to spice-up the way chords are played. Slash chords are gotten from inversions of chords. An Instance of slash chord is: C/E (pronounced as C over E or C slash E) . This means the chord of the note on the Left(Cmaj) would be played on the right hand, while the note on the right hand(E) would be played in the bass. Here the Emphasis is on the E. Normally, the C should have also been played on the Left as the bass note. You can try them out, some may sound awkward and you might also find some that you like. My apologies for replying late. I've been working on a new piano theory I'm yet to perfect. |

Hmm! It's that time of the Year when I become a very busy person. I've had to score a ton of songs in the past weeks. From Sinach's Blessed and Marvin Sapp's Praise him In advance to Casting Crown's Praise you in the storm and some others. By the way, I've been wondering why Black-American Keyboardists are so good at inventing mesmerising chords. |
