I’m a Nigerian developer, and I spent the last few weeks building a game I wish existed when I was younger. It’s called OLE! Catch the Thief.

The story is simple. Gbera has just snatched a madam’s bag at Oshodi bus stop. You’re the small boy who decides to chase him. You run through Lagos traffic, jump over danfos, slide under barriers, dodge agberos, and pick up the money falling from the bag. If you get close enough, you throw a block at him. Every run is different, and Gbera doesn’t make it easy.

Why I think you’ll like it:

- It’s 100% Lagos: danfo, BRT, okada, keke, the long Dangote truck, Lagos bus stops, LASTMA, and the noise of Lagos (OLE FM radio plays while you run).
- Two roads: Oshodi to Abule Egba, and Lekki to Badore through the toll gate.
- Nothing to download. It opens in your phone’s browser and works on cheap Android phones too. There’s a “Cool mode” if your phone gets hot.
- Free airtime every night. Play 5 runs in a day and you’re in the free airtime draw. Hit the day’s target in one run and you get 3 times the chance.
- Dare your friends. After a good run, send a dare on WhatsApp. Your friend plays the exact same road (same traffic, same money in the same places) and you see who packed more.
- Invite friends: you get ₦100 airtime for every friend who comes to play.

Over 4,800 people have played so far, and some come back every single day to try to catch Gbera. Very few have done it.

Perfect idea... Going back to village may be dangerous. I will buy this idea but it must be away from generator noise and polutions.

They use certificates and paper money drag all of you to city and invaded your bushes.

I remember when I lived in the village, people who come back for Christmas will make us feel inferior with paper money but we appear healthier than them and I keep wondering. Now I know.

If I hit jackpot, I am going back to village, may be another person village with my starlink, solar and Tesla security bot.

I will plant all my food and animal or buy from those coming from nearby bush.

Apart from health, I just want peace with nature.

That’s such a valid question. Going head-to-head against ChatGPT and Gemini is really hard for general AI generators.

I’ve taken a niche approach instead. I built DanceGenerator, a specialized motion transfer tool. It animates full-body static photos into vertical dance videos for TikTok, Reels and Shorts.

It’s not a general image generator. It only focuses on photo-to-dance animation, so it solves one specific need for short-form creators.

Hello everyone,

I’ve been working on my news blog, DOBBLOG, and recently added a reader rewards system.

The idea is to encourage readers to spend more time actually reading articles rather than just clicking and leaving.

The current system works like this:

* Readers create a Rewards account and log in.
* They earn 50 points for an eligible article after spending at least 10 seconds reading.
* There’s a daily limit of 500 article points.
* 50,000 points = $5.
* Readers can request a payout after reaching the minimum threshold.
* There’s also a referral system with a 500-point referral reward when the requirements are met.

I built the system around Blogger + Supabase, with the rewards and payout records stored server-side rather than relying only on browser storage.

I also created an admin dashboard where payout requests can be reviewed and marked as paid after the payment has actually been made.
