The introduction of new POS machines and vendors are increasing everyday across the country. The daily growth of POS business can not be denied as a result of Corona virus (Covid19) pandemic that left many people open to new opportunities globally. According to the data on the Nigeria Inter-Bank Settlement System (NIBSS) portal, revealed that agent banking was on the rise. Of the 986,252 registered PoS in the nation, an all-time high of 955,234 was deployed in January 2022. This is 100.89 per cent from the 475,494 that was recorded in January 2021. The followings are some of the major reasons why POS business is at every corner in our country: 1. Easy To Set-Up: Setting up a POS business doesn't require much capital and education. 2. Availability of POS Machines: There's increase in production/supplies of POS machines across our nation that you don't need to get to the bank before you get one easily without stress at an affordable price. 3. Nearness To Customers: You don't need to get to the bank or Automated Teller Machine (ATM) before your withdraw/deposit cash 4. Doesn't Require Much Capital: The amount of money to start POS business is not much base on sales and business environment. 5. It Serves As An Additional Source Of Income: Many business owners have all added POS business to their source of income because of its flexibility. 6. It Reduces Unemployment Rate: Many people now are business owners due to the availability of POS business and they're also employing others. 7. Availability of Loans: Some people are running their POS with loans from families, friends and financial institutions online and offline. .... Are you interested in POS business?

Indecisive GNI On A Crossroad To End His Political Journey One of the Ogun West Senatorial aspirant, Gboyega Nasir Isiaka popularly called GNI has reportedly shelve his ambition to represent his Senatorial District to contest for House of Representatives position to represent Yewa North/Imeko Afon Federal Constituency. If the information about GNI running for House of Representatives ticket is anything to go by, he will be struggling the ticket with about five aspirants from the federal constituency, including Hon. Kayode Oladele, Rt. Hon. Suraju Adekunbi, Wasiu Isiaka (Nasir's brother), Tope Kuyebi and the incumbent Reps of the region, Hon. Jimoh Olaifa. Hon. Kayode Oladele who represented the federal constituency between 2015-3019 was the was the Chairman of the House of Representatives' Committee on Financial Crimes of the 8th Assembly in the green chamber., Rt. Honourable Suraju Adekunbi the immediate Ogun state House of Assembly speaker is also a formidable aspirant in the race Others, include the incumbent Reps, Hon. Jimoh Olaifa who run on the same platform of African Democratic Congress, ADC with GNI in 2019 general elections, Engr. Tope Kuyebi and Alhaji Wasiu Isiaka who is a sibling to the three time gubernatorial candidate. It is yet to be clear why a prominent political figure like GNI who has contested for the number one seat of Gateway state to jettison the idea of representing the region he has always used as his selling point at every election year to muscle with those who at one point or the other are his lieutenants within the political space. Speaking on the matter, a member of the All Progressives Congress who prefers to be anonymous said "until I see him during the primary day vying for House of Representatives ticket, I will like to keep mute on the matter". Also, an aide to one of the HoR aspirants in the Constituency claimed "GNI is not and cannot run for House of Representatives ticket with already too many aspirants. How did he want to have his ways. But it is what it is in politics, anything can happen." Hon. Akeem from Igbogila while reacting to the news said "Gboyega Nasir Isiaka has over the times been accused of being an overambitious individual who can go to any length to achieve his personal interest. So, if anyone is coming to tell me he is now joining force against his own blood brother and other party men that have signified interest in House of Representatives, I wish him well." "Maybe he has seen the handwriting on the board that he is not in the contest of who becomes the Senator among other three contenders, Senator Olamilekan Adeola, Senator Tolu Odebiyi and Hon. Abiodun Isiaq Akinlade. Of course, his CV cannot match any of those mentioned above in legislative matter and other matters of governance." https://insideogun.com/exclusive-gni-dumps-senatorial-ambitionbattles-olaifa-adekunbi-for-reps-ticket/

BEING THE REPORT OF THE NANS OGUN JOINT CAMPUS COMMITTEE (JCC) SENATE MEETING HELD AT TASUEDSU SECRETARIAT ON THURSDAY, 29TH OF OCTOBER 2020 The meeting which had the JCC Chairman, Vice Chairman, General Secretary and the Students Union Presidents of TASUED, OOU, FUNAAB, AAPoly, OSCOHTECH, DSA Poly, FCE, OSCCA and MAPOLY (Speaker) was conveyed at the Students' Union Secretariat of TASUED at about 1:20PM. The meeting started proper with the appraisal of the past activities of the JCC. The State Of Campus report was given by each of the Union President on sit. The President of OOU, TASUED and FUNAAB lamented the elongated ASUU strike which has kept students at home even after the lockdown has been lifted. It was resolved to that the NANS Chairman should ensure a meeting with other Chairmen in the South West Zone to discuss the pattern of intervention of the Students' leaders in the zone towards an end to the strike. Yet, the JCC declare her support for ASUU and call on the Federal Government to meet the demands of the Union. The President of OSCOHTECH SUG in his address emphasised the need for security to be beefed up in the students' host communities as there are frequent cases of burgling and robbery. This was corroborated by FUNAAB SUG President who raised the lamentable issue of invasion of Fulani herdsmen in their host communities. It was then resolved, that the issue of Students-Police Committee that was initially discussed with the state Commissioner of Police should be facilitated so as to start necessary intervention to curb security threats in students' community. The President of the DSA Polytechnic pressed before the JCC the health risk the emission from the activities of Lafarge Cement factory is causing the Polytechnic Community as well as the damages to the road leading to the institution by trucks belonging to the company. It was observed that rather than contributing to the institution in form of CSR, the company has not contributed anything meaningfully to the institution as such. Hence, the committee agreed that the Chairman with his executives must do everything humanly possible to facilitate a meeting between the management of the company and the Students' leadership in order to press home the reservations and demands of the students. A failure of such meeting to hold between the time of this press statement and two weeks ultimatum would make the JCC relocate her headquarters to the factory for a picketing. On the EndSARS protest and formation of panel of inquiry by the Governor, the inclusion of the Chairman was appreciated as a recognition of students community. However, the JCC demanded that the activities of the panel be made open for the public to see in order to build the confidence and trust of the public in the panel and state government. On meeting with the Governor of the state, the JCC laud the commitment of the state governor towards the demands of students. The inspection of roads leading to our institution by the state government was appreciated. We therefore make an appeal that the Governor should continue to show the students community such a commitment. We recognize the actions taken by the State Government since meeting with us towards fulfilling the commitment for the students community. The issue of landlords/students conflict over house rent for the period of the pandemic was raised. While identifying the fact that issue of energy is a national discourse, we again appeal to the Governor to continuously intervene positively through the Commissioner for Education as we have been seeing in the last two weeks to put a lasting smile on the face of the students in the Gateway state. Also, the JCC appreciate the Governor is his wise Choice of Commissioner for Education and the special interest he has shown in the education sector The JCC laud and appreciate her matron, for the scholarship awarded to twenty students across the state. The preparation towards the International Students' Day that comes up annually every 17TH of November was raised. It was agreed to that the State Governor be the Chief Host of the day, Vice Chancellor of FUNAAB, Prof Felix Salako the guest speaker and Engr Mrs Funmi Ayinke the mother of the day. The crisis in the NANS National was discussed extensively sighting the purported impeachment of the National President Bamidele Danielson Akpan and the appointment of the VP National, Chidi Ilogede as the President. The JCC stated that it has not gotten clarity on the allegations against Bamidele neither was it involved in the impeachment process. Hence, we cannot take a stand on the issue yet. It was resolved that the JCC Chairman in his meeting with other Chairmen of the Zone next week must table the matter for discussion in order for the Zone to take a collective decision on the matter bearing in mind how it would not affect the Zone Presidency in the forthcoming national convention. Signed: Comr Bamgbose Tomiwa Chairman NANS OGUN JCC

Greatest Nigerian Students! In this challenging period when our country is experiencing absolute unrest as politically sponsored thugs and military personnel have resulted into disrupting the peaceful agitation and protest by Nigerian youths clamouring for the END of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS), TOTAL END TO POLICE BRUTALITY, ABSOLUTE END TO BAD GOVERNANCE among other agitations by harassing and killing of the peaceful protesters. NANS as an association committed to the advocacy of students interests and absolute welfarism of all Nigerian students and youths outrightly condemns the barbaric act engaged in by military men to disrupt the peaceful protest at Lekki, Lagos and other parts of the country. NANS call on the Federal Government to as a matter of urgency yield to the agitations and request of the masses. We also implore President Muhammadu Buhari to grant a press briefing addressing the nation as Nigerians are waiting earnestly for the president's position on the present situation of things. As an association, we charge our members to be calm, law abiding and security conscious as the go about agitating and clamouring for a better Nigeria. Signed Comr. NANS OGUN JCC CHIDES GOV. DAPO SAYS FRIVOLITIES ON LAYCON IS A SHEER MISPLACED PRIORITY. It is the height of irresponsibility and recklessness to read that Governor Dapo Abiodun paid host to the winner of BBNaija2020 and even went as far as splashing taxpayers money on him based on the fact that he emerged winner of the recently concluded BBNaija. As an association, we cannot imagine how a State Governor during this post-Covid19 era spend #5m cash, a 3-bedroom bungalow on a frivolous assignment such as Youth Ambassador. Isn't this some sort of duplication which we have been complaining of? Isn't it correct to ask the Governor the essence of the office of SA Youths? Isn't it correct to ask the Governor what informed the appointment? Isn't it correct to ask the Governor the job description? We cannot fold our hands and watch the Governor squander taxpayers money on an individual basically for winning Big Brother Naija when there are many things expected of this same government to do to boost the economy and improve the standard of living of his electorates during this period of economic recession which will have more impact on the people, most especially when the poor man on the street is clamouring for palliatives, undergraduates are clamouring for waiver of house rent, some of our students are seeking for loans to pay school fees, many parents have lost their Jobs, and many small scale business entrepreneurs have suffered losses as a result of increase on the prices of goods and services. Few months ago, a team of students from the prestigious Tai Solarin University Of Education under the umbrella of ENACTUS, won a global competition that had 128 teams from about 120 countries as participants. This contest was not an immoral contest, but a competition based on ideas and intellect. They won it on a global standard. Unfortunately, these achievement did not draw the attention of any government official, our local television station, OGTV not to mention any national dailies could identify with their feat. No top government official appreciated or encouraged their efforts neither were they recognized by the state government. To the entire students of the Gateway State,it is a slap on our face that a BBNaija winner is being appreciated by the state government above our global pride, this is a state where the likes of Late Chief Olabisi Onabanjo, late sage, Chief Obafemi Awolowo, Prof. Wole Soyinka and others hailed from. If you can't identify with our sane achievements, we will fight for our standard place in the government. We condemn totally, the appointment and the lavish spending which was exhibited by the Governor yesterday. The gesture which was extended to the winner of BBNaija signalled but a waste and misplacement of priorities most especially when it is coming from a Governor who has never for once deem it fit to extend such gesture to best graduating students in Ogun State most especially the TASUED student who won $20,000 grants few weeks back. If we are to break it down conservatively, a 3-bedroom apartment will cost #25m. If such money had been judiciously used as expected of a responsible government, it would have refurbished at least 2 primary health centres in the State. But, the Governor decided to throw close to #30m into the drain all in the name of a frivolous appointment such as Youths Ambassador in a State where there are existing Youths Ambassadors which are the SA Youths and Commissioner of Youths. It is based on the Aforementioned issue that we demand that the Governor *rescind* his action as a matter of urgency, we also demand that the Governor work towards providing palliatives for students across the state, and work towards fulfilling all the promises made to our students during his campaign, anything in the contrary shall be met with stiff resistance. Dare to struggle. Dare to win... Signed: Comr. Bamgbose Tomiwa Chairman NANS OGUN STATE.

NANS Commend Governor Abiodun's As He Nominates TASUED Vice Chancellor The Ogun State leadership of National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), ably led by Comrade Bamgbose Tomiwa has commended His Excellency Prince Dapo Abiodun as he nominates the incumbent Vice Chancellor of Tai Solarin University of Education (TASUED) as the new commissioner of education in Ogun State. According to the NANS Ogun JCC Chairman, "It is imperative for us as an association not just to congratulate the newly-nominated Commissioner of Education-designee in our dear Ogun State but to also commend the willingly working Governor of the State for listening to the voice of reason by nominating an educationist per excellence for such critical Ministry such as education". It is on record that the leadership of the association in the State have earlier called on the State Governor to see it as a matter of urgency and necessity appointing a Commissioner for Education as the Ministry form a core for any government that intend to make progress 'cause the youths have the highest population in the society and there is a need to pay critical attention to the educational sector so as to guarantee a better and secured future for them. Without mincing words or being hypocritical, the newly-nominated Commissioner of Education-designee is a worthy officer for that post as he has in few years displayed his effectiveness in managing the affairs of the academia and we do hope as an association that his nomination shall be sealed by the State House of Assembly.

Aremu made this statement with August24news correspondent in commemoration of the 60th Independence anniversary of Nigeria, Aremu argued that the respect the country gets in the comity of nations is as a result of unity. Aremu urged all those currently agitating to reconsider the axiom that there is strength in unity, a term he said the country’s founding fathers held tenaciously in the quest to make Nigeria a better place. “Nigeria sure has much ahead of it and I am sure its leaders are not relenting in relation to how best they can steer the ship to that enviable height. “We must, however, appreciate the fact that the country has remained together 60 years after independence whereas some others that were colonized with it have broken up or fragmented,” Aremu said. While thanking the citizens for constantly standing by the country’s democracy, Aremu noted that as representatives of the people, he and co-comrades have achieved major steps to strengthen democracy. “Our efforts recently resulted to the peace the union is generating now in ogun state. “We want to again, thank President Muhammadu Buhari and our National. chairman, Comrade Ibikunke Baruwa for listening to us and acting in this regard. “We also thank all Nigerian leaders, especially those who battled for the country’s current democracy. The likes of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and others made sacrifices when the country was on the verge. “The least we can all do is to ensure that the country remains standing united,” Aremu said. Aremu now urge the good people of ogun state to continue supporting the administration of Governor, Dapo Abiodun adding that greater days are ahead. According to him, ” on behalf of myself, my family, we wish the Good people of Nigeria particularly Ogun state as the country clocks 60th anniversary

The National Association of Nigerian Students Ogun State Axis (NANS Ogun JCC) has applauded the Executive Governor of Ogun State Prince Dapo Abiodun and the Ogun State chapter of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) for engaging conflict management style in bringing an halt to the planned strike action in the state. This is contained in statement released by leadership of the association in the state capital on... It could be recalled that the Nigeria Labour Congress Ogun state chapter has earlier this week resolved to engage on an industrial strike action across the state over their demand from the Ogun State government the NANS Chairman Stated The demands of the labour union which majored on the fact that the Ogun state government hasn't paid the minimum wage salary as approved by the Federal Government of Nigeria. The labour union also requested for the payment of their promotion of their promotion arrears among other requests tabled to the state government and gave an ultimatum to the government to respond to their requests or they engage on an industrial strike action. To our greatest surprise, the Ogun state government invited and deliberated with the leadership of the state NLC even before the lapse of the ultimatum given by the labour union and granted the request of the labour union and also promised to implement payment of the minimum wage by October - NANS stated NANS Ogun JCC has tagged the act and approach engaged in curbing the looming crisis in the state by the state government and the Nigeria Labour Congress Ogun State Chapter is worthy of commendation and believes the Ogun state government would fufill the promise of implementing the minimum wage payment when paying the October salary. The leadership of NANS salute the leadership sagacity of Dr. Prince Dapo Abiodun led administration says he's the man of the people and a governor with a large heart. REOPEN OUR SCHOOLS, NANS IMPLORES MAKINDE The leadership of National Association of Nigerian Students, South West Zone has call the attention of the Oyo state government to the reopening of schools in the state ranging from primary to tertiary level. In a press statement signed by the Secretary General, NANS Zone D, Comrade Oladoja Mubaraq (Megabyte), which made available to newsmen in Ibadan on Wednesday. Speaking with journalists on Wednesday, Comrade Oladoja, said the association is much concern about the educational sector of the state which the government is handling with levity most especially on the issue of school resumption. He said, we are much aware that COVID-19 has caused a lot of step backs across the globe which our state and country is not left out. But as it is now, we are lagging behind the moment we are unable to fix a remedy to sustain the education of the state. The Zonal secretary laments that if the government can keep running then the education sector should also be equipped with all that is needed to sustain the pandemic in such a way that will not paralyze the educational activities in the state. Our government got no reason to close our schools when other activities are ongoing. At least, government can reopen the schools by mandating the school administrators and other stakeholders to ensure social distancing and distribution of classes into batches. It is high time our government device a better means of education that match the balance of the 21st century. Students should not feel the heat of the pandemic more than other sectors if government really have the future of the young ones at heart. The Secretary General of the Zone finally urge the state government ably led by Engineer Oluseyi Makinde to put the education ministry on their toes to reopen educational institutions in the state. COVID-19 is not leaving us soon, it has come to stay just like other diseases. We need to put all measures in place to protect ourselves. Our markets are already opened, other sectors have opened, worship places too, what is delaying our schools to reopen, we should continue to lead by example as the Pace Setter state, the Secretary added.

A Condolence Speech By Hon. Adeleye Joseph Ademola On The Demise Of Senator Buruji Kashamu It was with big shock that I received the news of the passing of Senator Buruji Kashamu, who on Saturday August 8 died from Covid-19 complications. Senator Buruji Kashamu was a philanthropist and a benefactor of many Nigerians, especially in Ogun State whose absence will forever be felt. Without any iota of doubt, Kashamu's demise is an absolute damage, not only to his family members but also to members of the Peoples Demoratic Party (PDP), the political platform where he was an active active bigwig. So pathetic, Senator Kashamu died amidst struggle to restore peace and tranquility in the dying Ogun PDP and reunite aggrieved members. Death has indeed swallowed the hope of many card carrying members as a result of Kashamu's eternal bow-out. Senator Buruji Kashamu has a different meaning to different people, he genuinely cared for people within and outside of world, less privileged, countless of them benefited his kind gesture during his days on earth. His departure is not only a personal loss, it is a great loss to my dear constituency, Ijebu- north Constituency and Ogun State at large, his good works will forever be make good pages in the book of history. My prayer is that God forgives the soul of the departed and may his family have the fortitude to bear the loss. Rest on, Senator Buruji Kashamu. Signed Honorable Adeleye Joseph Ademola Ijebu North constituency 1

NANS Commends Ogun State Government, Demands Fast Track Of School Reopening Process The leadership of National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) Southwest Zone commends and appreciates the Ogun State Governor, His Excellency Prince Dr. Dapo Abiodun MFR for his timely and favourable intervention and response to the case of compulsory COVID-19 testing fee levied on private secondary school students. It would be recalled that there was a viral video on social media few days ago, where parents of the finalist were seen lamenting an unexpected and undue twenty-five thousand naira (#25,000) levy for COVID-19 test on private school students preparing to resume for the forthcoming WASSCE. According to the leadership of National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) Southwest Zone, 'We hereby express our delight by the directive to have any form of payment attached to the COVID-19 testing cancelled. We are once again reminded that we have a listening Governor, father and lover of education piloting the affairs of the Gateway State. The fear that the dividends of our tender democracy is being distributed with preference and discrimination has been allayed. Above all, the outcry of various students representative stakes, parents of the affected students and concerned patriots is heard. We also recognise the various effort of the State Government to ensure that the state is not behind in the fight against the ravaging COVID-19 pandemic'. According to Comrade Oladimeji Uthman ”Dan Fodio” Deputy Coordinator, National Association Of Nigerian Students (NANS), South West Zone (NANS Zone D), 'We however pray that Government further intensify efforts to see to a more timely and safe resumption of all educational institutions. Adequate provisions should he made to enhance the efforts of students and staff compliance to the COVID-19 prevention guidelines. Fully functional washing hand basins should be strategically and adequately sited in school premises across the state. Nose masks and hand sanitizers should also be freely provided for all students across all levels. The free COVID-19 testing should also be extended to all students across the state. It is the safest precaution against any outbreak upon general resumption of our schools. The social distancing culture may be difficult to adopt because some educational institutions owning to insufficient class room space. We suggest that the state government set up committees that will comprise of school heads and NCDC assigned delegates to come with the best schedule that will accommodate this shortcoming. The State Government in his magnanimity should also direct that school management at all levels should ease any form of demand that will amount to pressure on the students and their parents. We all are victims of the economic recession. It is also pertinent that the government at all levels begin to consider a financial support bailout for private school owners. Private school employees has suffered the biggest hit of the economic clampdown as most of them have to support for continued remuneration of their staffs though the four months long lockdown. They are citizens and financial members of the nation and are equally tax payers. Ogun State is due to move on to the next phase of COVID-19 restriction ease; need to emulate Oyo state counterpart as they have set the pace already.
