Prof Julius Ihonvbere has been appointed the Secretary to the State Government (SSG).
Former member of the House of Representatives, Patrick Obahiagbon is the new Chief of Staff, while Mr Stephen Idehenre is the Deputy Chief of Staff, Governor’s Office.
Mr. Peter Okhiria retains his position as Chief Press Secretary same as Princess Theresa Erediauwa who retains her position as the focal person and Executive Director, Millennium Development Goals (MDG).
Comrade Yakubu Aliyu is the Governor’snew Principal Private Secretary.
Mr. Godwin Obaseki remains the Chairman of the Economic Team, whileMr. Osarodion Ogie, is Vice Chairman of the Economic Team.
Born in June 1956, Prof Julius Omozuanvbo Ihonvbere holds a PhD in Political Economy from the University ofToronto.
A Professor of Political Science, the SSG-designate was former Special Adviser on Policy Monitoring as well as Speech Writer to former President Olusegun Obasanjo.
He holds a national honour of Officer ofthe Order of the Niger (OON).
Swearing-in of the SSG and others will hold on Thursday, November 15 at the Festival Hall, Government House, BeninCity by 10:00am.

The former senate leader reportedly died on Wednesday morning .
Reports reaching us indicate that Olusola Saraki, the strongman of Kwara politics, is dead.
Mr. Saraki reportedly died in Lagos, Wednesday morning .
Mr. Saraki had controlled the politics of Kwara State for about two decades untilhe was displaced as kingmaker by his son, Bukola Saraki, a serving senator, inthe 2011 general elections.

With gratitude to Almighty Allah, we announce the passage to eternity of our beloved father and grandfather, His Eminence, Oloye (Dr) Abubakar Olusola Saraki, Waziri of Ilorin, former Senate Leader, Second Republic, Federal Republic of Nigeria who answered the call to the great beyond, in the early hours of today in Lagos. (17 May 1933 - 14 Nov 2012)

We take solace in knowing that our father lived an exemplary life of service, and selfless devotion to development of his people and nation.

Baba will be sorely missed.

We pray for the repose of his soul that Almighty Allah grant him Al-Jannah Firdaus.
