The defunct Biafra was established on 30 May 1967 by Igbo military officer and Eastern Region governor C. Odumegwu Ojukwu under his presidency, following a series of ethnic tensions and military coups after Nigerian independence in 1960 that culminated in the 1966 anti-Igbo pogrom.
The declaration was an aftermath of the reversal of the Aburi declaration, wherein Yakubu Gowon backed out of the Aburi declarations.

In the heat of the tension, Southern Nigeria thought of breaking away from the North to form two countries or perhaps a separate Southern Republic. It was reported that there was an unwritten arrangement that Obafemi Awolowo should also declare the Republic of Oduduwa as soon as Biafra was declared. This informed the decision of the Biafrans soldiers to attempt to help Yorubas liberate the South-West, otherwise, the incursion into SW up to Ore in today's Ondo State, was not necessary. However, records have it that Awolowo and the South-Westerners buckled at the last minutes and reneged on the arrangement, or better still thought otherwise.

Looking back now, and with hindsight of what we now have as a Nation, Nigeria, would the Southern Nigeria have fared better now?
Did Awolowo and SW's decision to remain in greater Nigeria confer any advantage to the South or a lost opportunity?

Please., this is not about tribe, session or a call for same, but a discussion about our history as a people.

The living God, the God of justice have ordained an Igbo person to be the one to liberate Nigeria from decades of leadership failure. God have ordained an Igbo person to lead Nigeria to a communal prosperity and no matter what any other person try, they will fail until that Igbo person emerges President of Nigeria and set things right. This is God's ordinance and nobody can change it, no prayer can change it, so the earlier Nigerians embrace this sad truth the better for all Nigerians.

Something I have observed over the years is that people from a certain part of country will vote for the devil to rule them than anyone from the eastern states including niger delta.


Why they are doing this is not fully understood but when given an offer for a complete restructuring or reorganization of the country , they make a volte face.

They will cry blood that igbos should leave Lagos state but when igbos start planning a sea port air port in their region ,they develop a schizophrenia or epileptic seizure.

I can bet, the so called useless fóolish Nobel laureate is not known as much as Chinua Achebe is known in the world even after his mortal eviction. Chinua Achebe is far more popular and respected more than the living fóolish cultist prof.

Non of the illitèrate whole Soyinka works can stand the test of time as much as Chinua Achebe's work. Every house hold ,every country is singing THINGS FALL APAR, NO LONGER AT EASE, ARROW OF GOD etc

Ask anyone around you now to mention any book written by the cultist fóolish prof, I bet nobody would give you instant reply, they'll all gafe, but ask anyone to mention any of the books written by Chinua Achebe, even those that haven't read any of his books will still tell you THINGS FALL APART.

There are levels to this, this is not cultism ...the fóolish illitèrate whole Soyinka would still be a kid to where Chinua Achebe was.
