Alleged billionaire kidnapper, Chukwudumeme Onwuamadike, popularly known as Evans, has maintained his claim that he was tortured by the Police to make what they term his confessional statement.

He countered the claim by the Police that his statement was obtained under a fair atmosphere, and that the statement could have been taken in the presence of a lawyer, if Evans had hired one.

At the Friday, November 16, 2018 proceedings in his trial before Justice Adedayo Akintoye at the Lagos State High Court in Igbosere, Evans said human rights lawyer, Mr. Femi Falana (SAN), at the time, came to the Police station to see him, but the Police thwarted the meeting by locking him (Evans) up in a toilet.Evans said immediately after he was arrested by the Police in 2017, his wife, Uchenna, contacted the human rights lawyer, but upon the lawyer’s visit to the Police station, he was told that he (Evans) had been taken out for investigation.

Evans claimed to have heard, from inside the toilet where he was allegedly locked up, how Falana and the Lagos Coordinator of the Inspector-General of Police Response Team, one CSP Phillip, exchanged pleasantries upon the lawyer’s arrival at Phillip’s office.

He said after being told that he had been taken out for investigation, Falana warned the Police not to come back and claim that the suspect had been shot while trying to escape.

Led in evidence by his lawyer, Mr. Olanrewaju Ajanaku, Evans, who was all tears, insisted that he was forced to put his signature to an already prepared confessional statement by men of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad who had allegedly murdered several suspects in his presence “in Saddam Hussein style.”

The National Chairman of the Nigeria Labour Congress, Ayuba Wabba, announced the suspension at the end of the last meeting of the tripartite committee set up to come up with the new minimum wage on Monday night.

According to him, only one figure would be presented to the President.

Got some private files you wish to keep away from people when they access yor PC?

If yes, then you will need to read this to the tail. If you share a PC with friends and co-workers or even your siblings, kids or parents, then you know that some of them might try accessing your private files. And If they really want to access your files and folders, it will be easy unless you put in some security.

However, you can’t just simply name them “Secret” and “Secret.txt”; it will still not stop them from accessing it. So if you’re worried that they will still access your files, there are some things you can do to increase your security and we’ll talk about it.

You don’t have to be an IT professional or a Computer Scientist to protect your files and folders on Windows 10. In fact, even if you’re on Windows XP, Windows Vista, or Windows 7, you should aim to secure your files from prying eyes. And the quickest and easiest way to do that is to create hidden files and folders. But if you want to go the extra mile, you can make them invisible.

So how do you create these hidden items? It’s pretty simple and here are the two ways that you can do the job:

Hide Files and Folders using File Explorer
This is the method that I think most people are familiar with. The process never changed from Windows XP up to know. It’s just that the UI has changed. If you were able to do it in previous Windows iterations, just simply do what you did before and your files and folders will be hidden.

Still, here’s a walkthrough on how you can hide your files and folders in Windows using File Explorer.

Open File Explorer
Locate the files and folders that you wish to hide. I’ll be hiding the two “secret” items here
Right click the item that you want to hide and click on Properties
The properties window should show, make sure that Hidden is ticked on

As I’ve said before, you have a lot of customization freedom on Windows, and it’s fairly easy to do. You can download an icon set for Windows, use default icons, or even go as far as making your folders invisible for security purposes.

Windows actually has a lot of built-in icons and you freely choose which icon you want. So if you’d like to make a certain folder look like the recycle bin, then you definitely can! You can also access older default Windows Icons like those from Windows 8 and Windows 7.

Governor Ben Ayade of Cross River State has called on Africans to be united in other to help the continent win back her rightful position in the world.

Speaking during the flag off the first dry run of the 2018 Carnival Calabar on Sunday, Ayade who was represented by his Deputy, Prof. Ivara Esu, said that this year’s celebration marks the 14th anniversary of the carnival.

The governor disclosed that the theme of the 2018 Carnival is ‘Africanism‘, described the carnival as ‘the largest street party in Africa.’
He said that the time has come for Africans to show unity among themselves and the commitment to be respected by other nations of the world.

The carnival, according to him, has over the years promoted talent and creativity, while at the same time uniting the people of Cross River and Nigeria in general.
