I can see that OAU students only know how to start up fight but soon run from it. You guys have just wasted your precious time at home. Your question should be: Has the acceptance fee been reduced back to N2000? If not and you go back to school then you guys are not wise in the first place. From your comments, i know you are tired of staying at home and will even be ready to pay 30k as acceptance fee. Ase etie le.

Election should come b4 education because its result will determine what will happen to our educational system for the next 4yrs. For those who suggested that exams or quizes should be given to students on election, what if the sch just resume? FUTA just finish 1st semester and wants to resume 2nd semester 4th April. The truth is that universities senates are not respecting national issues. For oou students, na person say make una strike. All 9ja unis just dey do gra gra yet dem no dey among the best 25 unis in africa.

The mistake some supporters of GEJ are about to make is that they want to vote for personality (GEJ) without considering the party (PDP). I agree and admit that GEJ is a good man but i want you all to know that a good government is not about one good personality but many good personalities. A good fruit cannot come out of a bad tree. You cannot pour new wine in an old wine bottle. A tree cannot make a forest. Please, let us think twice before we cast our vote. Digress: something in me just told me that the umbrella of the PDP signifies covering up of corruption. On a more serious note, PDP has ruled Nigeria for 12 years without a commensurate achievement with the time. I feel so ashamed that not one of all nigeria universities is among the first 5000 in the world ranking, not even among the first 25 in africa and we say we are the giant of africa. Let us wake up and try a new party because if we don't, a time will come when PDP wil be like GHADAFI of LYBIA and we will then need to call on Nigerians abroad to come and vote for it to be defeated. Let us not vote because of nepotism, tribalism or out of emotion. If we vote GEJ we are spreading the umbrella of corruption of the PDP. Take for instance, i do not pray for this, if GEJ eventually wins and something happens such that he voluntarily resigns as allowed by the constitution, who will take over? It is said (in football) that a team is as good as its reserved bench. I would like to suggest CPC because they have a better, less corrupt bench than the PDP. If GEJ really wants to tackle corruption of public offices then he should have left PDP because a house that divide against itself cannot stand. GEJ cannot tackle corruption as long as he is elected by the PDP members. You cannot bite a finger that fed you. Let's give CPC a chance! Thank you and God bless Nigeria!

There's nothing great about OAU! Those who believe it is great are mediocres. How can you call a school who is not in the first 5000 in the world great. In fact, in Africa it was not among the first 50 yet the students are deceiving themselves by calling it great. Anyway, it shows what they believe to be great. Let me say this: greatness is not in what you drive but what drives you. Institutions do not make students great but students make institutions great. I even prefer to reckon with UI and Unilag due to their performances at the African ZAIN challenge to OAU. Can any OAU student beat his chest and say that their students are more intellectual and practically oriented than any student from other unis in Nigeria? If no, so where is the greatness. In fact all of you that have been shouting great, great and great i'm very sure you aren't a first class materials. If you are then your perspective should have been different. From my point of view, a nigerian school that can be the best in nigeria, west africa, africa and occupy and enviable position in the world should be call great. If not, we are just deceiving ourselves. I'm waiting for reply from the students of ife because i know many of them do not accept others good suggestions rather they will find fault with them. Check all the posts and you will see their response.

Ife was great no doubt but to say it is still great i refuse to concour. The truth is that Ife is gradually fallen. Great schools don't blow their own trumpets by themselves. B4, i used to think that Unilag, Ife and UI were d best but now i realise that they are not. The best schs are those with a good working system. I'm sure OAU has d highest no of strike. What do great ife want the new generation unis to emulate from them? Let me introduce a sch i consider as the greatest or rather gettin to be the greatest. It is FUTA. It has a good working system. Hard working and workaholic lecturers. Responsible, decently dressed, religious and hard working students. It is very peaceful. Students go for nysc on time. Your 5yrs wil be like 3 or 4yrs. Meehn, there is great level of respect between and among lecturers and students. I'm a direct entry student so i kno at least small thing about an ideal sch. OAU is a training ground for activists what of those who are not activists? B4 crossin to a uni i worked in a popular company in Lagos, there i realised that companies are no longer looking for graduate from a particular sch but what the individual can offer. I want you to know that there is no glory for a twenty years old student who graduated as the best student in primary six. In life, time is a determinant. I am not against the students protest but wisdom is priceless. The SUG could have call on the alumni executives to help out or better still relate with the oni of ife if he could use his influence. While oau freshers were sent home, FUTA freshers have started exams. Ife is indeed great but the present students are not living up to expectation!

as to the mint thingy, well it doesn't really disturb me, i always have like 4 or more distros installed on my lappy at any time so the issue of one using debian or ubuntu or arch doesn't disturb me - so long as they don't switch to rpms

The decision of Governor Fashola to ban Okada Riders in our area is doing more harm than good.  The traffic jam is heavy. I think the governor needs some enlightenment on our we operate in our axis. When an average man without a car alights at Mobil, how does he gets to Ajose Adeogun Roundabout without a motorcycle. I personally think Fashola always destroys homes to build a house and this is not wisdom.
