NYSC was establish to promote unity, peace and love among Nigerians but with this good intention, I am of the opinion that Corpers who are posted to primary and secondary schools are part of Nigeria's failing education system. My reasons are: 1. Not all corpers have the ability to teach, hence their inablities will affect the students for the whole session. 2. Pupils/students take time before they get used to the style of a teacher. By the time, the pupils/students have understood their corper teachers, that is when the corpers service will come to completion. Thus, the students are trying to understanding the style of different corper every year. These two point may seem harmless but they have great psychological effects on the students performances. What do you think? Please let's be objective and criticise constructively. Thanks |
Epe indigenes, what do you say to this? |
I hate nairaland because it is the house of rumour, foolish talking and abuse of freedom of expression! Only few sections actually make me still visit this nairaland of a thing. Op, your statement is an insult to the indigene of the state. Those you say will rule Lagos, have they successfully ruled their own states? Silly attention seeker! Sorry for calling you name. |
Hear this: no woman nor any other person from other geopolitical zones can rule Lagos!!!! It is never a yoruba culture. |
Governor Fashola of Lagos state has really contributed to many divisions in Lagos: Ikeja,Lagos,Badagry,Ikorodu but Epe has a division has actually been practically abandoned in all ramifications of development. Is this a sign that Epe is no longer part of Lagos state? Why the long term neglect of the division by past and present governors? What is your take on this? |
I wonder why we delibrate on someone's opinion. The op said it was his on idea yet we discussed it as if it were from a proven source. Besides, Muiz Banire is not an indigene of Lagos. Let's look for something to do rather than crucify our politicians for what they are not bold enough to say to the public. |
FUTA should be on the list. Check the school and you will be transform. FUTA is known for academic excellence and religions. Most of the schools listed by the op are in their present states b'cos the schools authorities made them so but in FUTA, students are not forced to obey rules and regulations, it has become a way of life! Of the greatest FUTARIANS!!! |
In addition, Tinubu also said that for those who have been saying Fashola did better than him, he wish to inform them that he is happy about that. That it is the prayer of a parent that his children should surpass him. He then prayed that may our children be greater than us. Note, i didn't go for their rally but only watched it on NTA AKURE STATION |
Please note, I am not a politician but i was amazed by the ACN grand finale rally in Democracy park in Akure. All the governors of the southwest were present including the governor of Edo state, governor Adams Oshiomole. From the rally, I wish to state that i'm proud to be a yoruba man. Governor Fashola seems to be the M.C. He was speaking yoruba all through. When he gave the mic to Governor Oshiomole, he also started speaking Yoruba but waoh he could not speak yoruba fluently then he switched over to English language. Adams Oshiomole actually didn't speak much. Then the mic was passed to Governor Fayemi of Ekiti state who said Governor Fashola is their class captain and Governor Oshiomole is the deputy class captain. He actually boasted about his achievements and challenge all Ondo people to compare all road that link Ondo and Ekiti states together. He said Ekiti state is now better than Ondo state. To buttress his point he was mentioning names of places that has boundaries with Ondo state. This shows that he is actually working. Then when it was Governor Rauf Aregbesola's time, he started with islamic prayers and then began singing. All i could say about him is that he is a good political singer. After that Governor Ajimobi of Oyo state spoke. He started with an historical story of Iroko tree. In fact, that story shows that iroko tree is the king of all tree but it is still buried by another tree which represent aketi. I must confess, the way he said the story showed that story telling belong to the Oyo people. Then Governor Amosun of Ogun state talked about the cordial relationship between Lagos and Ogun state. And also enjoined the people of Ondo state to come into the Awolowo's fold. After all have spoken then the National leader of ACN Asiwaju Bola Tinubu spoke. He started by reminding the people how Ondo state refused to be rigged in 1983. He also said that Ondo state does not need MEGA SCHOOL but functional model schools. He said he did MEGA SCHOOLS in Lagos because of the population density. He said for example Oshodi area then had about 10000 students in that area but that there is no population challenge that demands Mega school in Ondo state. He also berated Governor Olusegun Mimiko by saying he is a liar and deceitful. He said Mimiko was a commissioner of health under Adefarati but betrayed him at end claiming one governor one term. He said Mimiko who is now criticising Agagu was the Secretary to the state govt under Agagu. He said if Agagu was bad while did he took appointment under him. He said Mimiko also betrayed Agagu claiming one governor one term and now he wants to go again. Funny enough, tinubu was quoting different bible portion. He said the bible says a tree that does not bear good fruit should be cut down, and therefore Iroko will be cut down. When the ACN candidate, Aketi, came on board, listening to him for the first time after many things i've heard about him on nairaland i could conclude that he is a reserved man and a man of few words. He said by the time he's voted in, there could be GREAT WESTERN UNIVERSITY whose campuses would be in each state in the southwest state. He also said there would be hope of creation of refinery in the southwest as all the states in southwest will pull resources together. Finally, he said the Ilaje area of the state will be made a tourist attraction which would generate revenue for the state. I wish Aketi won cos of the love all the southwest governors including the Edo state governor showed today. They seems ready for mutual assistance. We as yoruba must unite together as one. Ondo state should not be left out. Pls comment without insulting me cos i only express my view. Who do you think will take the day Aketi, Mimiko or Oke? |
lwise: Until we all realise the fact that Tinubu is the major problem of Lagos state that's when solutions will start coming.the worst article I have ever read on nairaland. The moderator that placed this on front page is the worst of all. Your write up is devoid of truth and facts. How can Fashola say they should work 24hours a day. You are a devilish liar. No wonder you get craw craw for body. |
jacobs123: And was it Tinubu that created the jobs in Lagos? If the other states were serious especially N.Delta states many investors would have left Lagos. The jobs created by Tinubu are LASTMA, LAWMA, KAI etc. Even Marwa built MARWA MARWA gardens in less that 3 years. While I will concede that Tinubu was about the best in his class of Governors it doesn't mean he performed well given the resources at his disposal and I guess Fashola's first 3 years proved that not forgetting that Fashola's period coincided with the great RECESSION. LEKKI-EPE way has been on since 2006, not even 60% complete even with the low quality, TEJUOSHO market is still under construction.please don't tell me what i know. During Tinubu's time Federal Govt didn't release Lagos revenue and i can remember when Fashola entered, Tinubu told him publicly the amount that FG owed him. The Lekki-EPE road was Tinubu's idea. He did it up to VI BEFORE leaving office. Have you forgotten that Fashola was a chief of staff under Tinubu? What you see in Lagos today is continuity not just Fashola. |
solomon111: Every man and his dog knows that tinubu is one of worst governors in the history of Nigeria as a whole.is your name not solomon? Why aren't you living up to the expectation of your name? I just finished watching mimiko's campaign on OSRC, all i could hear was he did basic health in this place, he did basic health in that place.. I challenge you, mention 4 commissioners in Ondo state under Mimiko and how'll mention 5 under Tinubu. |
@Gaybriel, What Job did Tinubu create...? Lagos has been a centre of commerce for so long..... The statements of Mimiko gat me ..Good words for a dirty old man..
i'm not a politician but i can tell you with confidence that Tinubu invested more in Education. Paid STUDENTS NECO FEES and started Spelling Bees competition. He gave out free eye glasses to the old. Pls tell me about Mimiko's |
Gov. MIMIKO is a very funny man. How can he compare his achievement to Tinubu's 8 years. I was in Lagos during Tinubu's tenure and I'm currently living in Akure. The truth is that if Mimiko was to be in Lagos, he can only be a local govt chairman. All what he's doing his the work of local councils. Virtually everybody in Ondo state is a graduate but no good jobs only taxi drivers and okada riders. Funny enough, they love such lifestyle. If Ondo state continues like this, I can't wait to finish my program and run back to Lagos. |
You are the one I treasure. For my love for you is without measure. I promise not to tease you. But to always please you. For you are beautiful as a dove. And i'll show you my love! |
ishmael: But on a second thought, i think the polytechnic administrators are playing politics with the HND/Bsc discrimination thing. They don't employ HND graduates in the polytechnics as lecturers, they call them instructors. This is discrimination. If the Rector wants nigerians to believe him then he should change that policy in his institution first or better let them protest against it. Charity begins at home.by the grace of God, i finished my ND in laspo. And i can authoritatively tell you that they employ HND graduates especially those who came out best in their various schools. I know of one in my department then. By the grace of God, after my ND i gained admission to a Federal University of Technology. I can say with all sincerity that polytechnic is better than university in Nigeria. Poly gives you practical but Uni teach you how to cram. I'm talking from experience. |
Let me tell you all the reason why UNILAG came first. It was because of the issue of changing of name of the school. All thanks to Jonathan. The controversy of the sudden name change of UNILAG made a lot of people to write and browse or trend on the school thereby increasing the school traffic on google and other search engines. People don't get too angry about the ranking cos it's just about web presence and not the quality of human and material resources available. Proudly FUTARIAN! |
rhymz: I am so surprise that most of these church run schools did not make the list.pls, i beg to disagree with part of your idea. REDEEMER'S UNI currently has one of the best VC you can think of. Her present VC is the former DVC academic of FUTA. And i can tell you, the man is very much up to the task. |
ritux: Abeg help me tell them. Nigeria is a place that you hardly see peaceful protest. Some will just join the bandwagon and in the process, get injured or killed in the process. They will end up dying for nothing because the name has come to stay.for your information the sch is no longer great rara |
All those UNILAG students go humble themselves. Oh! I hate this. Jonathan has removed location from unilag. When you hear University of Lagos you can think that it is located in Lagos but when you hear Moshood Abiola University you think of one school in one kind of location. Truly, i don't have anything against late chief MKO but that naming drops UNILAG rank in Nigeria. Read this conversation: Guy1: oh boy, what's the name of your school? Guy2: I'm in Mashood Abiola. Guy1: is it the polytechnic or the university? |
Beloved Nigerians, I believe that every system has its own strength and weakness. Military regime or democracy, which has made more positive impacts on Nigerians? Not which is better. |
Koolwilly: Elect/Elect 350 levelwell done friend! |
Koolwilly: What level are you in and what dept?i'm in Food science and technology. For my level, i'm in 350 level. |
Post utme and direct entry forms finally out! Check www.futa.edu.ng for more details. Wish you success. |
As for me, the best lecturer in my department is an old prof. His handwriting is far better than these young lecturers who just engage in copy and paste. He doesn't give note but you'll be amazed that what you jotted down is quite much. He explains so well that even the dullest student will know a little about the topic. I've come to realise that new and young lecturers are those that victimise students. Professors do not really give students headache except for their technical assignment and questions |
ziccoit: All the doctors' haters go and write JAMB it is never too later. In fact, it is better late than never.you study medicine and i study food science and technology. Which is more useful to man. Can you treat your patients without food but you know that no one can live a healthy life without food. So medicine my foot! Let us not start another debate here. |
mayorteeny: Doctors do value human lives and of course the rule in medicine is to FIRST DO NO HARM.only the sick need the doctors so i'm not a candidate of your prescription. By the grace of God, i'm hale and hearty. Jesus is my doctor. He never goes on strike. Even if i default in my agreement, he still forgives me and heal me. What a great healer is my God. |
Please prospective futarians, stop asking what are your chances. Go and study your books. For the fact that you score 200 plus in Jamb, you already have 25% chance of being admitted. But you MUST score a minimum of 50% in your post utme in order to be considered for admission. Also try to visit the sch website from time to time. www.futa.edu.ng |
dharnie: I had 197 and chose futa as 2nd choice pls can i b allowd to take d postume and wat der cut off marktry another university or quickly do a change of institution cos futa don't accept anything less than 200 |
baseg25: pls o,wat is d meaning of uds and pdsuds means university diploma studies which is like ND in poly. Pds means pre degree studies. This is a kind of teaching students go through before being admitted by the sch but must have a minimum of 50% in the final result and must have min of 200 in jamb to be admitted |
pls from lagos ow can someone get to futa and ow long will it take
welcome! I'm also a futarian from lagos. The journey is 4 hours plus.
