Boss, if the engine and transmission are reliable, how come they don't age well?

What about the Toyota Avalon? I see the naija used ones at cheaper rate than Camry of the same year. Is there any issue particular with it?
Note; its mostly the 06 to 09 avalons

They do not age gracefully

It's usually either a defective transmission or engine you find all over the place.

Note the engine and transmission are very reliable.

Good day, Gazzuzz. I need help. My 04 Corolla (Canadian build) is bad. A mechanic loosened the top and still fixed back the old gasket instead of a new one. This made water mix with the oil and ruins the engine.

Now, I have the option of repairing the engine or replacing it entirely. Which should I do? Repairing it has been cost at 200k. New engine is reportedly around 400 to 450k.

Let me give a quick history. I replaced bearing on the two front wheels, speedometer stop working afterwards and fuel gauge started malfunctioning.

My obd 2 scanner shows vehicle speed sensor A as the fault. I replaced the sensor on the transmission body(on the engine) but it didn't fix it.

Another electrician scanned the car for codes and the two speed sensors for the front came up, he tested both sensors including the rear sensors and they're in good condition. He carried out checks on the abs module and its in good condition as well.

We visited his oga, who said problem might be from the bearing we replaced being too thick hence causing the sensors not to the read the wheel movement. He said I should replace the hubs even if it's one and that will fix the speedometer issue. I had replaced the bearing for the driver side again after I was hearing noise from it on high speed but the visit to the electrician but still no show. So my concern is why neither of the two bearings effect the change he mentioned.

I'll appreciate suggestions on more direction to check.

That's resetting to clear DTC codes you are talking about.
I said reprogram which is about reinstalling the software on the ECU BIOS .

Problem lies between the sensor in your throttle pedal and your ECU. I advise a Relearn/ reprogramming not replacing of the ECU.
The codes from your Scan has nothing to do with throttle body.

Please pardon me for all my worries, from what I have noticed so far, it seems that the throttle body is not receiving the required power via that source/socket that you circled, I tested it with a diff throttle body still the same issue. Someone said I might need a swap the brain box, but I pray that should not be the case. Abeg help me out here, please.

If you have done all that and it's still not working try another engine ecu

Oga Gazzuz, I hail oh, please I saw this 2005 rx330 naija used first body which I wanna try my luck with. But the issue is that the gear box is faulty, although still selects from 1-3. Is this repairable? Should I prepare to install another gear? And what should be my budget if I want to replace bthe gear? Thanks for all you do to help.

Thank you so very much sir, please how do we reconnect, because this is where the problem is, the butterfly in the throttle body is not responding when the ignition is switched on and the gas pedal pressed.
