I need your professional advice badly.

My Camry 2008 (4 plugs) started giving me issues in December)

The check engine light came on Dec 28th, and I had to drive to the mechanic like that.

That day, it was discovered the balance shaft was bad (which was replaced)

The check engine light stopped for about 2 days and came on again.

I returned to the mechanic again and he later fixed whatever issue happened (he speculated oil pump issues)

Issue resolved.

Jan 3rd while returning to Lagos, was on 120 when the engine gave a funny sound (the engine oil light was flickering on and off prior to this).

I parked and checked the oil level and saw that there was enough oil.

Drove from Magboro to Sura where my mechanic was.

Car spent a week but he changed the Camshaft.

Car worked fine post camshaft change.

A week after, oil warning light was flickering on and off again, and at this point, car was really making funny sounds at 40 to 60.


Cars been at the mechanic since last Saturday, unresolved, and he's speculating it is the oil pump and saying engine knock.

Obviously, I am avoiding buying a new engine as that will cause a dent in my pocket, not after how much i have had to fork out this past two months.

What can possibly cause the oil warning light to come on, both theirs enough gauged oil in the engine?

Oh yes, issues arise every now and then. Its how you handle it that matters. It's nothing to do with luck, it's a deliberate character which you can learn too, it's not too late.

Paying for an item in an actual shop and coming back the next day to find it sold is very common. The worse is in land sale.

If you buy a land in lagos and don't assert possession by building on it. If you leave the land fallow for 1 years, there is a 90% possibility that the land would have been sold to someone else. Not minding the receipt and all other purchase documents.

House rent nko? Pay for house rent and don't collect the keys and move in immediately, 90% chances that the room would be rented to another tenant if you wait even just one month. In all these cases the first land buyer or tenant would be struggling to get his or her money back. Theses cases full court.

We both acknowledge that there was not agreement pertaining to the storage and shipping of the item, but you still insist that the sale is concluded. All sales have shipping arrangements attached unless it's a cash and carry transaction. What then happens if a seller unknowingly collects money from the buyer before realising he is out of stock? If there was a storage and/or shipping arrangement and the buyer had competed his own side of the agreement by paying the agreed fees, then the seller would not have any justification for selling the item. But as it is, the buyer has no legal leg to stand on, as long as the seller refunded the item in full.

When I was still in construction, I went to this big tile company to buy floor times, valued at over N1million. I paid fully, with a promise to return the next day to collect the tiles. On getting to the company next day, I was informed that the tiles was no longer available, it's either I pick a different design or they refund me my money, or wait for the next container to come in. Provided ur custom papers is genuine with full duty paid then u don't have any problem.
U can drive the car to anywhere within the country without plate number for upto 3 or 6 months after it's entry into Nigeria.
Just make sure u have ur jack, spare tyre, fire extinguisher and caution sign.
Then lots of change for our men in Black.

The only bad part is if u get robbed it will be impossible to trace the car.

Sold my es330 and got a Camry 08, it’s been 4 month now and I have changed oil like 8times or more… the oil usually shorts within 3 weeks.. oil shortage is my only problem… I’m tired.. I’ve changed oil seal at the top… mechanic thinks it’s the piston.. kindly Advise on what to do… I actually like the car if not for this issues of oil.

I now parked and see smoke billowing from the engine bay.

The shhh just kept burning, even after using about half a fire extinguisher can on it, until we got the bright idea to disconnect the battery.

As soon as the battery was reconnected, it started burning again, which means the abs module is always powered whether the car is on or off as long as the battery is connected,

I have read a couple articles online that detail cars being burnt down at car parks cause the abs just started burning, and no one was around to notice or stop it.

It’s quite a scary situation, honestly. Now I don’t even want to park anymore with my battery head still connected, but that would mean the computer would have to relearn idle rpms and stuff, but I’ll take that over a burnt vehicle.

Below is a pic of the burnt abs module. You can see that it’s the computer that is burnt. Not sure how the computer is isolated from the pump, but maybe brake fluid leaked into the computer and caused it to short out, just a theory.

Please I need help on my Camry 2009.
I recently disconnected my battery for a friend to jumpstart his car and and this problem come up afterwards. The vehicle idle engine speed will almost drop abruptly below the usual 700/800 mark when at a stop in traffic but will balance and pick-up immediately after. This results in a quick shudder of the engine during this blip. I scanned and discovered the code P0441 relating to vacuum/pressure in the EVAP system. I have checked the fuel cap and no issues.

Please help how to diagnose and fix.
