I guess i wasn't clear enough...I meant show the paint not clients job...well well show clients job when they permit it .
Example;
This bucket of 20litre satin covers 2m2 surface etc..
This wall was done with premium emulsion its better than silk for outdoor or indoor surface(this is just a comparison i dont know about paint ooo)...do you get
I read you correctly the first time but assumed you meant the actual painting picture of the products because you can't really distinguish different types or grades of paints from looking at the bucket.
You can't notice any difference even with the opened wet bucket.
It's is only after application you can determine the type of paint due to the flatness, sheen etc hence why I post actual painted pictures and give description of the type of paint used.

Budget emulsion is the cheapest and lowest quality obviously due to low materials used. It can only be used for internal manageably and ceiling where nothing touches. Spread rate: 40 sqm for 2 coats 20 liters.
Premium emulsion is higher quality that is durable for both internal and external use due to better quality and volume of materials used. It can be used on screeded and unscreeded walls. Spread rate: 50 sqm for 2 coats per 20 liters
Matte emulsion has low sheen, is flat and cleanable. It's best suited for screeded walls or smooth plastered wall with emulsion primer first applied to smoothen it. Spread rate is 50 sqm for 2 coats 20 liters drum.
Satin has high sheen, is flat and cleanable. Best suited for screeded walls and best to use stabilizing solution after sandpaper application of the screeding to prevent easy peeling. Spread rate is 60 sqm > per 20 liters drum.
Silk is basically satin with higher quality, i.e more solid content or lower water content to give more tougher coat.

I remember saying that, but honestly am afraid for Nigeria as is. I hope there is a remedy for this. Having investment in Nigeria and expecting returns is a no go area, the money comes back as peanuts.
It's almost the same in Nigeria. Few people would be able to afford renting properties if home owners charge according to the amount they spent building it.
I think diasporas are the ones subsidizing our economy with the money they remit back home.

I think that uniform belongs to Miyetti Allah viigilante.
You are correct. The poster deliberately didn't post the full story.

The poster chose not to copy the full report. ALL the names of suspects and how they were arrested was detailed therein. Mainly Fulanis including Miyetti Allah vigilantes and one Kenneth Ugwu.
Exactly. Mischievous.

It has really been going on for a very long time. Perhaps from the beginning of time, they are just very secretive and discreet about it.
It's someone that wants to die prematurely that would be snooping.
The so called women most likely slept with married men too.

@gbaexxy thank you for understanding ethics of privacy, some of these vendors don't understand that. You give them job without permission, next thing they flood social media with clients job. This is a nice and neat job, I hate to see stain's on anything when painting. Do these guys do painting, if yes I may have a job for them. We will talk about it tommorow.
Alright sir.

A third time returning nairalander gave me permission to post a short video of the ready mixed screeding putty (basecoat).
A very satisfied client.
Rest assured the paint would be applied on a stable surface and weather condition can't affect it while unpainted.
What's what doing is what doing well.

Long time my building section family..

Just today, I was thinking if there’s anything we can add to cement to prevent the greening / algae growth that occurs on bare concrete floor finishes..

@gbadexy.. you know more about chemicals..
If you could get wax based resin or add acrylic resin to it to make it less porous.
This may work more effectively if the floor slopes to drain water away.

One Nigeria!
I watched the launching of the dangote ibeshe plant on TV and they showed them through the process.
The limestone and clay that is mixed together are on the land and they said would last 50 years.
They used bulldozers to carry lumps of limestone into payloaders where those are dumped somewhere with a conveyor belt to take to the furnace where it would be mixed with clay under high temperature and gypsum which is still on the land added to determine setting time.
Bottom line is that even though they use energy and pay staffs, they don't basically buy raw materials and they deal in huge volume. The price could even be lower than the #4700 posted there.
I guess we have system for financially disadvantaged areas also under quota system or it's just law of demand and supply.

I made a quotation in the morning and the client said he will pay by evening. That afternoon, there was 1k increase in the cost of one of the materials. Calculate the quantity I need. So how do you discuss it with the client without sounding stupid and ignorant of your trade.

I just swallowed the losses from my end and took up the job
I guess that's what the big companies closing shop faced on a big scale.

there's so much adjustment a client can take. He or she is also dealing with same fluctuations in his or her own business. To mitigate this issue, client needs to pay at least 80% of the contract sum. And this is where it gets difficult cause not everyone can afford it
True but this is assuming payment was made within a short period prices was quoted for.

Well not by much in average though..

I don't know if this is an outlier but the actual building I used in my calculations here.. rent was 700k/yr in 2020 and the rent is still same in 2024.
Oh ok sir.

Although there are alternatives... say you do transfer for others that need it.

The pesin would want you to transfer at bdc rate of 1525.. say man got 3m in rent and want to use it for one or two at base.. 3m would give ya $1,967 (@1525/$1).. that's is not even enough to pay one month rent for many people .

Compared to 367/$1 that would fetch $8,174 (for 3m)
Rent was probably lower in naira at N367 also but it would still give much higher equivalent in dollars.

Exactly, for diasporans.. as bad as it sound.. now is the time to build .

2019/2020 to build 6 flats of 3 bdrm from foundation to finishing is 38-45m at exchange rate 356 - 367 = $122,615 ( 367 /$1).

This year to erect similar project would cost about 80 - 92m at 1,525 per $1 would give us....wait for it.. wait for it... $63,000.

Half the cost!!!

But the problem is that the money is trapped in Nigeria, when you want to wire the money back to abroad na when you will be crying wah wah grin grin
No western union money transfer outside Nigeria cheesy

Last year or so, with $1000, you would only buy 100 bags of cement at #4500. But today, with the same $1000, you get more than 200 bags at #6500.

Is there something I don’t understand?
You got me scratching my head sir.
I think last year the value is about a million while it is around 1.5 million today.
I think it's nero2424 that once told me that the increase in price of materials in Nigeria doesn't bother diasporas.
The dollar is not going anywhere, it's the naira that is bolting.

I don't mean to cause panic but whoever needs to get something done should do it quick.
There is drastic increase in prices of materials already today with some hoarding in further anticipation of price increase.

this is nothing compared to what I experience daily. On Thursday, I bought a tin of body filler for 30k, yesterday which was Friday, I bought 32k in the morning and 35k in the evening
Not so funny thing is that the increase can't be continually passed on to the client at the same rate.

I will never advise anyone to use cement or even pop for screeding. Basecoat is the best. After you did the screeding on mine and painted it, the end result was reflecting and as smooth as a mirror.
I'm also glad you used basecoat knowing you used the best possible matte type over it and knowing you would use something equally good for the internal.
