On the use of ginger/garlic (I do not use onions at all), bitter leaf, scent leaves etc. I have carefully observed and monitored how the birds responds both in terms of treatments and as a preventive measure. It is still a work in progress as more and more organic combinations are still being exploited.

The ginger/garlic works well against a range of poultry diseases i.e coryza, worms, e-coli related, salmonella etc. In some cases, you will have to introduce one or two other ingredients to make it more effective.

The pawpaw leaves (& bitter leaf) extract works just fine for me in treating coccidiosis. Also, adding other ingredients has proved to be more effective in treating severe cases. Bitter leaf plus scent leaves extract.

Administration of the extract in most cases is done through drinkers, mixed in their water with exception of severely sick birds that are given orally, forced down their throats with the use of the syringe.


I am still working out a chart that works just fine for me


Note
I wouldn't advise a total switch all at once to organic without proper knowledge of poultry diseases and its signs. Another thing I must point out is, treatment takes time.

What a night!!!

Been up by 1:37am to the noise coming from my chicken coop. On assessing the cause, it turned out to be a pouch rats attack. Tried killing it, but it got away. Lost few birds to it. (All matured birds, legs all broken )

I never knew pouch rats could kill full grown roosters oooo.

I use the neem to control mites/flies and sometimes as replacement for red oil in treating fowl pox. I simply rub it on infected parts and in few days, everything clears off.

Boss, Pls kindly explain how to use Garlic, Onions, Ginger nd pawpaw leaves as organic alternatives in poultry biz and their functions.

FARM UPDATES
So we sold the whole First batch over 100 chicken at an average weight of 2.5kg in 6 weeks and 3 days with some weighing 3kg+
I can authoritatively say it here that the OBJ marshals are a force to reckon with when it comes to giant broiler production!
It surprised us and every broiler farmer around, some even said we lied about their age, you all needed to see the size of these birds!!!

You know who work must chop na, we slaughtered and ate some to see the quality of meat we were producing and we were wowed at how lean the meat was (without any visible trace of fats) Turks of Preemah Agro, we cant say that you enough for your advice to go with this brand, it was a worthwhile experience and a very educative one too.

Mean while, our new set of 150 marshals are doing well and will be 4 weeks tomorrow (we will weight them and give live updates from farm)

We are also expecting 200 Agrited Ross308 tomorrow ordered through yours faithfully (Turks of Preemah Agro), and as usual will be giving timely updates here.

OP is a bloody liar. I stay in Ekiti and what happened was that a petrol station constructed close to a market and residential building got burnt months ago (The news was on nairaland sef, with Fayose holding a water hose to assist the firemen lol). The owner of the filling station didn't insure it and that led to people's shops affected not to be paid. Because the petrol station owner allegedly gave them 10k each. This made fayose to order the demolition of all petrol station close to residential area, market, school, hospital etc. They striked at first and didn't sell fuel for few days, later t
hey opened after negotiations. The result of the negotiation was that every petrol station should be insured. That was still not done within the time frame given and Fayose ordered for demolition instead. This is the cause of the current situation!
