Politics / Re: Mr. Olumide, Where Is Your Wife? by gbengayandipo20: 1:38pm On May 14
It's a simple question. If you can't manage your home even Bible says you can't be ordinary Bishop not to talk of a governor that will be insulted daily. Olumide lack the temperament to be a governor now and that's the truth except you don't know him.

Simple question begging for simple answer. If you can't manage your home within 3 months how can you manage a whole state even when his reign as NBA chair was characterized by violence as well as his entry into UNIBEN, Labour party chairman with beating and now Labour party Secretariat. Why is Olumide turned Osaigbovo synonymous with violence and disorderliness? If you can't manage few men or a woman for a year, it's sad. Edo people want the best man with character, competence, capacity, experience and ability to manage human and resources.

God bless governor Godwin Obaseki for his tenacity, forthrightness and political will to give Edo people some level of peace and enabling environment their businesses to thrive, invest and get value for their investment and then pay their normal taxes without harassment. We want good governance to continue.
Politics / Re: The Primacy Of Truth (part 4 by gbengayandipo20: 12:14pm On May 10
You mean you don't want a sanitized system free of thugs and beating of traders in the name of revenue collection, forcefully taking people's properties unless they settle the miscreants with the money going into their private pocket? We can never go back to the days of killer squad, lions and tigers, Go and Die to a widow selling to take care of her children. We want decency, peace, development through enabling environment to continue. Ask yourself why those investment along Sapele road didn't come under Oshiomole from FORD MART to OSSIOMO to SHOPRITE to EDSTMA training office to REIGN RESTAURANT Academy to Market square to the Hair production factory after market square to the private College of Health to the C of Os office up to Ologbo with Ethanol plant, Edo modular refinery etc

Politics / Re: The Primacy Of Truth (part 2 by gbengayandipo20: 9:25am On May 08
Governor Godwin Obaseki is a great unifier and lover of all not few political leaders. Governor Obaseki placed priority on the welfare of Edo people over stomach infrastructure for few political leaders which has been the cause of their hatred for him since 2017. Edo people love his institutional reforms and transformation with lots of private investment already attracted into the state including PPP. His insistence on money being used for the purpose it's meant for is another sin he has committed as many politicians are ready to collect money without executing the projects but Obaseki doesn't tolerate it hence the hate. Edo people will continue to appreciate him for his footprint and his achievements without noise or commissioning.

God bless governor Godwin Obaseki for his transformation of various sectors in Edo including workers welfare and free Health Insurance scheme for all workers, pensioners and citizens who registered. Politicians will always hate any leader who doesn't give them all they ask for. Governor Obaseki is delivering dividends of democracy to Edo people but without noise or commissioning which the opposition is using to spread lies but he will showcase many of his projects during this campaign even though the beneficiaries of the projects are enjoying them.

Shaibu is a liar o. You accepted to be deputy and when Oshiomole started having issues with the governor you started abusing and insulting Oshiomole to please the governor thinking he would hand over to you. You even went to Abuja to submit petition against Oshiomole that he should be arrested. Why didn't you mention the number of times governor have you Acting governor and how much you made even the amount he gave you to build stadium, money for Sports festival etc and how the governor insisted you must be his running mate in 2020 for second term 🤣

Anyone in doubt of how Obaseki has been paying the highest minimum wage of #40k since May 2022 should go and do a live interview with Edo workers and if you believe this new increase is for election, tell Ondo governor to also increase his to #70k and let's see 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Politics / Re: How We’ll Fund N70,000 New Minimum Wage For Edo Workers, By Obaseki by gbengayandipo20: 9:24am On May 02
Are you okay or what? Show your pay slip if you have any proof because if the governor is doing that which is not true, Edo workers would have said it openly. Do you think Obaseki is Oyetola of Osun state and Aregbesola who were paying half salary? Obaseki is an economist and investment banker who understands how to reduce waste and channel the excess into meaningful things. No more generator, diesel, stationery etc that cost billions because Edo is having 24/7 OSSIOMO power and fully digitalized not using papers.
Almaigaa:

Obaseki no dey pay complete salary. He pays in percentage. For years now,Edo workers no dey collect complete salary. The worst na Local Government workers. Those ones for months them never collect anything.

Senseless political negotiators and traders 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣. So, if the new deputy governor is removed they will finally accept the candidate they called a stranger and then believe that Obaseki has performed based on their complaints. Politicians are not wise at all. It's obvious it's just their own pocket they want and everything they have said before will be reversed 🤣🤣🤣🤣. You didn't tell Tinubu to remove Wike but want Obaseki to remove the new deputy because he is of Labour party? Funny people.

Governor Godwin Obaseki doesn't make noise about his numerous achievements reason opposition takes advantage of that to say opposite of what he's been doing. In terms of workers welfare he's the best in the country as he's the only governor to have increased minimum wage to #40k in the country since May 2022 including Pensioners, promotion and Edo Health Insurance scheme. He has also recognized leaders who contributed immensely to the development of Edo from DR Ogbemudia to Prof. Alli to Chief Odigie Oyegun public service Academy to Adams Oshiomole even Chief Lucky Igninedion, Fmr IGP Arase etc.

Monday the APC candidate wrote WAEC in far away Jos in 2008 at the age of 36 and still failed. How can APC shamelessly present such a dunce as their candidate when they have the likes of Prof. Osunbor, Arc. Mike Onolememeh, DR Col. Imose, Engr Gideon Ikhine, Gideon Obakhan etc? No wonder they're ashamed to present him to the public to speak to avoid more embarrassment 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Governor Obaseki is a nice man and a unifier to the core. He has given all sections of Edo state fair sharing and he's distributing projects in all the local governments without noise. He has attracted a lot of investment/industries into the state such as the revamped Auchi Fertilizer plant, the OSSIOMO POWER PLANT of 95megawatts, Ethanol plant at Ologbo, Dufil Indomie and SARO Farms, PRIMA FOOD, SHOPRITE, all institutions rebuilt and transformed, workers welfare, health with so many roads especially new areas etc but he doesn't commission or do media paparazzi.
Health / Obaseki Health Reforms: Edo Boost Telemedicine, Phc With Fibre Optic Internet... by gbengayandipo20: 6:43pm On Apr 07
*Edo boosts telemedicine, primary healthcare delivery with fibre optic internet infrastructure*

The Edo State Head of Service, Dr. Anthony Okungbowa, has said that the spread of fibre optic internet infrastructure across the 18 local government areas of the State will improve primary healthcare and telemedicine.

In his remarks during telemedicine workshop held in Benin City, with the theme, “Delivering Value in Primary Health Care: The Role of Telemedicine, the Head of Service, said with fiber optic connection across the 18 Local Government areas in Edo State, primary healthcare centres can leverage access to the internet to improve delivery of quality healthcare.

He said, “Through telemedicine we can actually harness the power of technology to overcome the barriers that have plagued our primary healthcare system. With the advent of telecommunication networks, video conferences, mobile applications, medical advice, consultations diagnosis can be delivered remotely reaching those in need regardless of the geographical limitations.

“The novel initiative is made possible by his Excellency with the connection of fiber optics across the 18 Local Government areas in Edo State. This not only saves time and resources but also ensures quality healthcare services are readily available even in the most remote areas.”

On his part, the Commissioner for Health, Dr. Samuel Alli, said the Governor Godwin Obaseki-led administration has continued to reposition primary healthcare centers through strategic interventions.

He noted: “In the last two years, we have renovated over 50 facilities and we have also deployed personnel there with the goal that at least there should be one primary healthcare centre functional per each ward. We have a template; we have the design.

“We do not want us to begin to view primary healthcare centres as clinics for poor people and for rural dwellers. It is for everyone who needs the services.”

Education / Obaseki's Reforms: Edo Children's Literacy, Numeracy Rates Now 70% by gbengayandipo20: 5:09pm On Mar 26
*Obaseki Education reform: Edo children’s literacy, numeracy rates now at 70 percent, at par with counterparts in Europe, Asia*

The Edo State Governor, Mr. Godwin Obaseki, has said children’s literacy and numeracy rates in the State are now at 70 per cent, and at par with their peers in Europe and Asia.

Obaseki, who spoke in a chat with journalists, noted that the 70 percent is far more than the national percentage which is 30 percent.

The governor said this was achieved by building a resilient education system over the past seven and half years through the Edo State Basic Education Sector Transformation (EdoBEST) programme.

He explained that when his administration came on board, the State’s educational system had collapsed, which necessitated the urgent need for a holistic reform in the education sector to tackle learning poverty by leveraging technology to improve learning outcomes.

According to him, these reforms have led to the training of over 11,000 teachers and impacted over 400,000 children across various schools in the State.

He noted, “We had a unique experience when we came on board. We had a huge challenge in terms of education. Edo State at the time was a prime source for human trafficking and illegal migration. Between 2016 and 2017, we had more than 30,000 young Edo boys and girls who had got themselves to Libya to cross over to Europe.

"A lot of our young people could not find jobs because they were not employable and the reason was the educational system had collapsed. As a government, it was a wake-up call that we needed to do something drastic and more fundamental.

“We needed to look at the foundation of our educational system to understand why our children were not learning so as to take necessary and urgent steps to fix it. This led to the launch of the Edo State Basic Education Sector Transformation (EdoBEST) Programme, which today has continued to gain global acclaim.

The governor further stated, “Today, children’s literacy and numeracy rates in Edo are now 70% at par with their peers in Europe, more than the national percentage which is 30%. The reform has trained more than 11,000 teachers and impacted 400,000 children.

“In these past few years, as a government, we are confident that we have built a resilient education system with the EdoBEST programme and tackled learning poverty by leveraging technology to improve learning outcomes.”

Education / Governor Obaseki Shares Edo's Education Reforms' Success Story In London by gbengayandipo20: 10:23pm On Mar 24
*Obaseki shares Edo’s education reforms’ success story at LSE Africa Summit in London*

_*…dazzles global leaders, participants with impact of EdoBEST programme, others*_

The Edo State Governor, Mr. Godwin Obaseki, at the weekend, dazzled global and business leaders, policymakers and other participants at the LSE Africa Summit 2024 in London, United Kingdom, with the impact of his administration’s education sector reforms, reeling out how these reforms in the past seven and half years have improved learning outcomes, especially at the foundational level, tackling learning poverty.

The event was held with the theme, “African Minds Transforming Futures: Building Resilient Education Systems.” Obaseki who was a keynote speaker at the forum dazzled the participants with his lecture on, “The Future of Education in Africa: The Role of African Players in Advancing Education in Africa.”

Obaseki, while reiterating the need to sustain investment in education to effectively harness the potential and resourcefulness of Africa’s youthful population, said the continent’s youths hold the key to its sustainable growth and development.

“By 2050, Africa will have at least 33 percent of the global youth population and this population holds the key to shaping our world, our culture, and politics, among others. This gives us immense opportunity to reshape the world. However, a bulk of this population could become a liability if we do not invest in them.”

“So, on one hand, we have this asset that holds the key to Africa’s future and development, and on the other hand is the challenges. I believe that if we have the political will and make strategic investments, build a resilient and dynamic education system, prioritize skills development to address global challenges, and encourage innovation and inclusive governance, we stand a very good chance of resolving and tackling these challenges.”

While identifying obstacles to improving education and youth development in the continent, the governor listed poor infrastructure, lack of teacher training, poverty level and digital divide in accessing necessary technology for education as major obstacles.

He stated, “So if we must build a resilient education system in the region, we must understand that education should not just be seen as constructing buildings and classrooms. It is more about igniting curiosity, fostering critical thinking, and empowering young minds to reach their full potential. We must focus on nurturing the flames of knowledge and inspiration transcending mere bricks and mortar.”

Sharing success stories of the State’s education sector reforms, Obaseki noted, “We had a unique experience when we came on board. We had a huge challenge in terms of education. Edo State at the time was a prime source for human trafficking and illegal migration. Between 2016 and 2017, we had more than 30,000 young Edo boys and girls who had got themselves to Libya to cross over to Europe.

“Our children were significantly underperforming academically; teachers needed more encouragement, support and modern tools and techniques; schools were not properly managed and there was no community ownership of basic education. At the time, the government lacked real-time concrete data for policy making and interventions.”

He added, “We knew we needed to create and strengthen our education ecosystem focusing on foundational learning, on the basis of access, inclusion, and quality control.

“We focused on system strengthening and organizational development, making the institutions stronger to drive these reforms. We also knew that the key to education is teaching. So, we prioritized teachers’ professional development and quality assurance. We also concentrated on curriculum development and learning outcomes as well as community engagement and partnerships, while paying critical attention to school infrastructure and facilities.”

The Governor noted that these efforts and reforms over the past seven and half years have repositioned the State among the top five education accelerator sub-nationals in Africa with radical changes that have positively transformed the education ecosystem.

According to organisers of the LSE Africa Summit, “As Governor, Mr. Obaseki is at the forefront of re-enacting Governance in Nigeria and a strong proponent for the use of technology in Government to deliver efficient services to the people. Today, he leads the only State in Nigeria that has fully adopted e-Governance, ensuring that Government correspondences are paperless.

“His innovative policies/programs include the Edo Basic Education Sector Transformation ‘EdoBEST’, tackling learning poverty through technology, and utilizing public-private partnerships to enhance investment, promote industrialization, and stimulate economic growth in the State.

“He spearheaded the Edo State Oil Palm Programme, positioning Edo as frontrunners in oil palm production in Africa. Additionally, Mr. Obaseki created The Victor Uwaifo Creative Hub, a state-of-the-art facility supporting film and music production to boost opportunities within the creative industry.”
