Politics / As The Daggers Are Drawn Out On President Muhammadu Buhari’s 100 Days In Office, by gbollybakare: 12:42pm On Sep 02, 2015
AS THE DAGGERS ARE DRAWN OUT ON PRESIDENT MUHAMMADU BUHARI’S 100 DAYS IN OFFICE, NIGERIANS BEWARE!

It was a former chief of army staff, Lieutenant General Salihu Ibrahim (Rtd.) who lamented the state of the rot in the military cum the polity at his passing out parade in 1993 during the inglorious days of the evil genius, General Ibrahim Babangida (Rtd), when he said, “Our army became one in which anything goes”. Breaking it down, according to him, the Nigerian army became one in which its ethos of discipline and honour was thrown to the dogs as junior officers disobeyed and disregarded superiors without consequence like has never happened in military history anywhere in the world. By the above statement, General Salihu Ibrahim, a fine officer and gentleman by all standards expressed deep regret at how ex military head of state, Ibrahim Babangida sacrificed the discipline, integrity and honour of the military, a revered institution and symbol of Nigeria’s unity for political expediency.

This was a period in which our values, integrity and indeed, every facet of our national life was destroyed by the Babangida junta which enthroned a state policy of corruption and criminality like never witnessed before in our political history and was capped up, with the treasonable annulment of the acclaimed freest and fairest 1993 Presidential election won by the late business mogul and philanthropist, Bashorun MKO Abiola of blessed memory, the aftermath of which eventually led to his forced exit from power by the Nigerian people through civil disobedience. The consequences of the criminality of the Ibrahim Babangida junta without appropriate sanctions by the society is what has continued to haunt us and will do so, for a long time to come.

With the advent of democracy in 1999 and subsequent change of government via the polls, in came, ex President Goodluck Jonathan who had to emerge first, as acting President in 2010 after a fierce battle on the streets by the Nigerian people against a cabal who were playing games with our lives by breaching the constitution in the absence of the then ex President, Umar Yar’Adua who was incapacitated due to ill health until he finally gave up the ghost.

When ex President Goodluck Jonathan contested the 2011 Presidential elections, his campaign promises was hinged solely on his mantra of “I had no shoes”. Unfortunately or due to providence, Nigerians went to the polls to elect a man who had no character or pedigree of service of any kind, be it private or public and the consequences was what we all lived with for four years to the consternation of humanity and God as the Goodluck Jonathan administration set a new record of irresponsibility, criminality, lawlessness and impunity which made the combined inglorious years of two military dictators Ibrahim Babangida and Sani Abacha, look like a child’s play.

The entrenched culture of lawlessness, criminality and impunity perpetuated by the Goodluck Jonathan administration was so offensive and repugnant to human sensibilities, that the generality of Nigerians saw and were terrified by the impending calamity awaiting the Nigerian ship if that government was not exited as quickly as possible from office via the polls.

The tsunami of a Muhammadu Buhari presidency to rescue Nigeria from the abyss from which she was being plunged by the Goodluck Jonathan administration was a God ordained one because of the goodwill he possessed which was very infectious and endearing due to his track record of impeccable character and integrity, which was absolutely lacking in erstwhile occupants of the office of the President of the federal republic of Nigeria for a long time. Despite being unable to match the financial muscle of his fellow contestants for the presidential ticket of his party at the primaries, General Muhammadu Buhari emerged victorious to the delight of Nigerians who were fervently praying to God for deliverance of their country from the clutches of the disciples of Satan. A further confirmation of divine intervention in delivering the country from the jaws of a looming catastrophe played out when, he picked an equally impeccable man of character and honour in
Professor Yemi Osinbajo, a distinguished professor of law and pastor as his running mate and vice presidential candidate.

With this joint ticket of men integrity and character in Buhari and Osinbajo, the stage was thus set for Nigeria on the road to recovery as ordained by God. Thus, the flame of the Buhari revolution engulfed the whole country like a wild fire such that Nigerians on their own became volunteers using their time and resources to spread the gospel on every available platform. This was evident as all medium of communication and information was overwhelmed by the show of support and solidarity by Nigerians, such that even the campaign grounds wherever the Muhammadu Buhari team birthed, was filled to the brim that it became crystal clear to the and sundry, that in a free and fair elections, this was the winning team.

Despite seeing the handwriting on the wall, frantic measures were made by the then ruling government of Goodluck Jonathan and its cronies to stop the peoples revolution as represented by the Buhari tsunami through hook and crook by deploying state resources, but it was an exercise in futility. The more they tried to vilify and tarnish the man’s image and that of his party, the more the popularity soared in confirmation of the saying that “Whoever God has blessed, no one can curse”. Even when they went to town with the lies and falsehood that he didn’t possess a school certificate as against his major opponent, a supposed Ph.D holder, the people showed that they cared less, by insisting that, even if he presents any of his utility bills, it will suffice for his alledged lack of school certificate.

The more, the expired Goodluck Jonathan administration exploited illegal and undemocratic means to subvert the peoples revolution for change, the more the futility of their action stared them in the face, but being who they were, they continued hoping for manipulations and chaos, but God put them to shame as all their plots against our democracy collapsed on their head with the conduct of a peaceful and fair general elections by the Prof Attahiru Jega led INEC in which the will of the people triumphed.

However since the trouncing of these anti democratic elements and whatever they represented at the polls by the votes of the Nigerian people, they have refused to come to terms with reality of change by attacking the President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration at every turn not minding how ridiculous and infantile their position sounds.

Just when the dust had hardly settled on the brouhaha raised over appointments by Mr. President, some of these characters as expected, have drawn out the daggers again calling on him to fulfill his promises of a hundred day in office when from all available records, there was nowhere throughout his campaign platforms both at home and in the Diaspora, where President Buhari promised 100 days of governance in a four years mandate.

Realistically and rationally, periodic assessment of a democratic government by the citizenry has become a fad in the world in order to keep the government on its toes and prevent a derailment from its campaign promises and developments in the polity. Thus, Nigeria cannot be exemption, but to attempt to blackmail a government on the basis of a 100 days promise which cannot be traced, pointblank to it, is the height of absurdity and a sad reminder that agents of the old order of lawlessness and impunity are still on the prowl.

Despite the Presidency denying knowledge and authorship of a 100 days promise and corroboration by renowned lawyer, Festus Keyamo who stated in a Punch newspaper publication of Tuesday 01/09/2015 that “But then, I can vouch for President Buhari. I travelled with him and I was with him at Chatham House when he was asked a question on what he would do in the first 100 days; and Buhari’s reply was very simple. He said, ‘I consider all of these promises about my 100 days in office fraudulent. I am not going to commit myself to any 100 days promises.’ These agents of, see no good in President Muhammadu Buhari, will not relent.

And even, when Mr. President’s party came out categorically to deny ownership of the 100 days promise of governance based on its position that such a promise never emanated nor was authorized by either the party through its national publicity secretary, nor its then Presidential candidate, some of these characters would rather not hear of such and have gone to town painting it in fake red, trying to blackmail the government on an alledged figment of their imagination100 days promise of 100 things to be done which include among others, the following:

1. Making the exchange rate of 1 dollar equivalent to 1 naira
2. Ending the boko haram insurgency
3. Making the refineries work at 100%
4. Eliminating corruption
5. Ensuring successful transplant of all Nigerian men to women and vice versa
6. Ensuring that all bachelors and spinsters get married and produce children, etc.

All these so called ridiculous 100 days promises by the sponsors of this campaign of, we must bring down the government by distracting it through campaign of calumny and sowing seed of discord in the polity, are laughable and must be understood within this context by all and sundry.

What we must all understand and recognize is that while the Buhari Presidency tsunami was on the loose, millions of Nigerians scattered at home and in the Diaspora became willing volunteers on their own, contributing time and money to save their fatherland from an impending calamity. It’s an indisputable fact, that sane Nigerians were absolutely fed up with the way and manner the PDP led Goodluck Jonathan government was likely to run the country aground and so, they launched themselves patriotically headlong into various kinds of campaign promises centered around the party’s manifesto of fighting corruption, insecurity, economy comatose, employment generation, etc to produce all kinds of materials to convince people to vote for a Buhari Presidency and it is not unlikely that overzealous supporters or mischief makers from the other end who were deploying their political war chest against change through bribery of persons and groups with local and
foreign currency in mind boggling sums, also capitalized on the frenzy to produce materials and disseminate information which was ridiculous in order to disparage and make mockery of the movement.

But one clear message which Nigerians must hold very dearly from this whole episode of sowing seed of discord between the government and the people is that both Mr. President and his party have reaffirmed their unalloyed commitment to implementing the party manifesto based on its electioneering promises of fighting insecurity, corruption, unemployment, economy comatose, infrastructural decay, among others in line with the constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria within the next four years of their democratic mandate and to us, this is reassuring.

As Mr. President gets set to release his long awaited ministerial nominees, it is important to admonish the government and the citizenry to be watchful and ever ready as enemies of progress and democracy are on the prowl and more than ever determined to psychologically wear down the people and the government by campaign of calumny and division along religious, ethnic and other negative lines.

In the mean time, instead of dissipating its energy in always responding to criticisms and sinister comments, it is imperative to call on Mr. President’s media team to live up to their responsibility by disseminating information prompt and relevant information across all channels to Nigerians on the achievement and giant strides being recorded by the government in areas of national life, which we are all living witness to, such as, improved electricity generation and supply, improved security and updates on the war against boko haram, the revitalization of the refineries in reducing fuel imports and decentralization of distribution and supplies, the state of recovery of looted funds, instilling discipline into our national life through responsible leadership, appointments into public office based on character and integrity instead of godfatherism and other primordial sentiment, etc.

To the vanguards of the old order of lawlessness and impunity in violations of the constitution and God’s law, who have refused to sheathe their daggers of, Nigeria shall know no peace, our message to them is that, we are more than prepared because eternal vigilance is the price for liberty. Again, our prayers is that may the Good Lord grant them good health to rejoice with the generality of Nigerians as things change for the better under the leadership of President Muhammadu Buhari within the next four years to the glory of God and man.

Thanks.

Politics / Adefuye Was A True Patriot-tinubu by gbollybakare: 4:50pm On Aug 28, 2015
TINUBU MEDIA OFFICE

Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu has described as shocking the news of the sudden death of Nigeria’s Ambassador to the USA, professor Adefuye. Tinubu in an initial reaction said his death was a monumental loss and a most painful death. “ He spoke with me about two weeks ago full of suggestions on how to make Nigeria a great country and his plan to be part of that initiative. He worked closely with us in planning the successful trip of President Buhari to the United States” Tinubu said.

Tinubu described Professor Adefuye as a true patriot, a man full of life and ideas. ‘ Sadly, he departed ahead of his time. His contributions will remain intact and many that encountered him will forever remain grateful they met and knew such an accomplished gentleman. May his soul rest in peace and may God comfort his family, relatives and friends.
Politics / Opinion- Bello Yahaya Is The Man With The Blueprint By Alfred Omolewa by gbollybakare: 6:15pm On Aug 25, 2015
Kogi 2015: Bello Yahaya is the man with The Blueprint by Alfred Omolewa

The 2015 general election was a watershed in so many ways. One of the most unappreciated difference from past elections was the difficulty many incumbent governors faced in trying to retain power and the emergence of younger leaders and lawmakers at the state and federal levels. Besides the President, very few the age of 65 won any election. It seems the global trend of younger people taking over the mantle of leadership is now amongst us.
The use of social media and modern campaigning techniques coupled with detailed and world class research were also noted features of the last election. In fact, the massive loss experienced by the former ruling party has been attributed to its inability or refusal to embrace the new ways of interacting with voters. The use of the famed Permanent Voters’ Card and the Card Readers also lent a lot of credibility to the process and ensured it was very difficult for election riggers. It would seem that the perceived increased integrity of the election process is now attracting younger technocrats to the political field, where they had always known they could make an impact but stayed away from a process that would tarnish them. Young people are now proud to be called politicians.
One of such young people is the 40-year old aspirant for the gubernatorial seat of Kogi State, Bello Yahaya. The young man is coming into the race to test his mettle against seasoned and battle-tested individuals but he is doing it with no fear. In his party, the All Progressives Congress, are 28 aspirants vying to clinch the right to represent the party against the ruling and failed Peoples Democratic Party. Amongst his fellow contenders is a former governor, a former acting governor, former senators, former speakers of the Kogi House of Assembly and other career politicians. Yet, he exhibits no doubt about his own ability to deliver on his campaign promises nor does he habour any uncertainty about his chances to beat all his elders at this game. A Young Turk in the proper sense is what Yahaya is!
The qualities that make Yahaya ready to lead his most-maligned state to excellence are numerable. From as early as Class Two, he has had responsibilities thrown on his shoulders and had always carried them out satisfactorily. He was chosen to be the Class Prefect, a position he held until Class Six when he got picked to be the school Head Boy. His class mates remember him doing the job with style and purpose. He then blew through secondary school, passing his first attempt at SSCE in 1994 with flying colours. Then, it was on to the famous Ahmadu Bello University for his degree in accounting, followed by a quick fire Masters in the same discipline. Unsatisfied with these, he had with the Association of National Accountants of Nigeria (ANAN) in 2002. By 2002, he was a fellow of the ANAN.
Mr Yahaya’s career began in 2001 when he was posted to the Revenue Mobilization Allocation and Fiscal Commission (RMAFC) for his national. He did so well at his duty that he was offered an appointment in the same office as Revenue Officer II. His commitment to high standards of work and dedication was obvious and he was soon promoted to the position of Accountant. Soon enough, he was transferred to head the Makurdi Zonal office Account
Department. He risen to the post of Assistant Chief Accountant.

Like most successful individuals of his generation, Yahaya became restless. He knew there was a something bigger out there. He hungered to try his hands on new things, unsure of success but undaunted nonetheless. He took the plunge and invested in the Nigerian Stock Market. His portfolio paid off massively and in a very short while, the young man was in control of millions. He had made his fortune and could have retired. No way! He re-invested his money well and it worked for him. His keen mind knew just what potential asset would turn to gold and his timing was always right. He had the Midas touch.

Being a man rooted in religion and blessed with insight, Yahaya knew his blessings were not for him alone. He went back home and spread his wealth around. He touched poor people in his community of Okene, sponsoring hundreds of young ones to school at all levels. Seeing the direction his country was threading, he backed a group that was committed to making the Buhari/Osinbajo ticket a reality at the federal level. He sponsored the group massively and their dreams came true. Not once did he ask for anything in return. Until his people came calling…

Yahaya looks like he has taken the call to serve his state very seriously. Knowing what he would be up against, he commissioned a group of experts to put together The Blueprint, a localised adaptation of the Buhari Roadmap. Drawing inspiration from the well-thought out manifesto of the APC and the insights from the deep research that he had ordered before, The Blueprint is a complete, logical and practical document that highlights the challenges of governance and followership in the state, but dwells more on hands-on solutions. Yahaya’s document takes into cognisance the special position Kogi state holds in the country. The Blueprint shows a determination to take full advantage of the tourism prospects and the major rivers that pass through Lokoja, the state capital, to create jobs.

Being well aware of the dwindling fortunes of oil, The Blueprint contains a plan to make Kogi state a hub for skilled labour. There is also a plan to raise the standard of education in the state significantly while building one of the biggest hospitals in the nation via Public Private Partnership. There is also an ambitious plan to amplify agricultural efforts to ensure jobs for 100, 000 Kogi people. Fair wealth distribution in a state where there has been disproportionate sharing of resources is another point The Blueprint hopes to achieve.

Armed with the zest of youth and directed by the wisdom of his mentors like President Buhari, Yahaya feels he is on the right track. His knowledge of financial and human resources management would be an asset for the state. His self-assuredness may just be what the doctor ordered for a people that has witnessed the most uninspiring leadership since creation in 1992. His connections in the business world would attract massive investment to the state and significantly raise much-needed internally-generated revenue.

In his letter of intent, read what the young man had to say; “It is very evident and sad that, upon almost twenty-four years of creation of Kogi State; the same number of years it took to turn the great city of Dubai in United Arab Emirate from desert to Mecca and modern masterpiece of the World, our State is still ranked among the poorest and least developed States in Nigeria largely due to misadministration and poor leadership that has characterized its major part of its existence.

“However, as a young, visionary, detribalized and focused Kogite with high penchant for societal and human transformation, I feel very appalled and concerned with the prevailing dismal state of affairs in Kogi State, despite the enormous human and natural endowment at the disposal of the State.”

As delegates go to pick their choice next Saturday, it would do them much good to go with a young a man of ideas and ability. Kogi can be much more than it is. Let the young have their turn. After all, it is their future that’s at stake.

TINUBU A LEADER NOT A TOMENTOR

If the world thinks in Gani Adams' way, then the world must have forgotten it ever existed. The word used on Tinubu by the OPC leader is not just unfair but has shown the Adams' lacks leader skills and knows absolutely nothing on what a "Leader" is.

Tinubu  has proved himself in all ways that his a leader and a true leader. His selflessness gave birth to the change we are celebrating today, Jagaban's idea brought joy and happiness to Nigerians even when Gani Adams allowed himself to be used as an agent of anti democracy just for the sake of money. The OPC leader denied and deceived the Yorubas for contracts and dollars received from the last administration ignoring the pains Nigerians suffered in Jonathan's admistration.

Gani Adams is a man after his pocket and not in the interest of Odua People's congress or yorubas at large . The likes of Gani should be snubbed as his desperately in need of cheap firm with the name of the hero of democracy Asiwaju Bola Tinubu. So taken serious is a waste of time and resources  His definition of democracy has shown Gani is an anti people and a selfish leader that can sell is conscience for money‎.

Politics / OPINION: If Revenue Generation Is The Topic, Tunde Fowler Is The Teacher by gbollybakare: 2:09pm On Aug 22, 2015
OPINION:
If Revenue Generation Is The Topic, Tunde Fowler Is The Teacher

A new, often comical if not dangerous, trend has emerged in Nigeria’s politicalsphere since May 29, spearheaded by groups and individuals, aptly named the wailing wailers by Femi Adesina. Their job description is the criticism of every action and inaction of President Buhari’s administration, and yesterday on their workboard of deliverables was finding fault with the appointment of Williams Babatunde Fowler as (acting) Executive Chairman of the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS). It is a familiar script. Probably owing to the lack of creativity of this trend leaders, the same modus operandi has been employed in the aftermath of the appointment of Mrs Zakari at INEC Chairman, and many others.

The case, as they put it, against Tunde Fowler, an internationally acclaimed tax and revenue consultant, is that he is a stooge of former Governor of Lagos and National Leader of ruling party APC. Nigerians know President Buhari to be a thorough man whose decision-making process, especially when it comes to appointments, is of the highest possible standard. So what informed the President’s choice of Fowler – the very things the wailing wailers want to distract you from? To put it simply, Tunde Fowler is the man who paved the way for the economic independence of Lagos State, a feat envied by some and admired by all other states in Nigeria.

With the global collapse of oil price, Nigeria’s economic survival is now hinged on the discovery and full utilization of alternative streams of revenue. Out of all the 36 states, only Lagos presents a perfect model that can, and should be copied by the new federal government under President Buhari. The Lagos model of economic independence and prosperity was established on the foundation of an efficient and accountable tax system, built and operated for 10 years by Tunde Fowler.

Tunde Fowler left the banking industry in 2004 after 20 years of meritorious service to join the Lagos State Government and was appointed the pioneer Permanent Secretary/ Executive Chairman of the Lagos State Board of Internal Revenue in November 2005. At that time the monthly allocation due to Lagos State from the federation account was being withheld by the then president, and Lagos desperately needed to restructure its economy and focus on internally generated revenue to execute infrastructural and social security projects.

In January 2006, the LIRS was generating an average of N3.6 billion per month, but through Tunde Fowler’s astute reforms that figure increased 6 folds in 8 years to N20.5 billion per month in 2014. Indeed, data released by the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) has shown that the IGR of Lagos State in 2013 - N384.25 billion - exceeded the total sum generated by 19 states put together. This explains in part why like the biblical Goshen, Lagos has been spared the plague of unpaid salaries of civil salaries currently ravaging most states in Nigeria.

The NBS data further reveals that Lagos State managed to generate N722.62 billion in 3 Tunde Fowler years (2008 to 2011) compared to Kano State for example which generated only N23.11 billion in the same period. Lagos State currently stands as the only state in Nigeria whose IGR triples its Federal Allocation. Lagos would be left with only N2 billion out of the N6 billion it gets from the Federation Account monthly after salaries and allowances have been paid. Yet Lagos has spent over N500 billion on capital projects in the last 8 years, most of the funds coming from tax revenue brought in by Tunde Fowler and his men at the LIRS.
Before his appointment, Tunde Fowler left Lagos monthly IGR at N23 billion, with more than 4.5 million residents registered as regular tax payers. No other state in Nigeria can boast of a database of tax payers as comprehensive as what Tunde Fowler put together in his 10 years at LIRS. His job was made easier by the fact that he ran a most transparent and accountable tax system. Lagos residents can see what their taxes are used for and are encouraged to pay to aid further development. Lagos tax collection system is efficient and transparent due to various processes put in place and an efficient team comprising mainly of young graduates.

The rebuilding project of President Buhari is a capital intensive marathon that requires the exploration of all options for a more diversified economy - an end to the wanton corruption witnessed in the last administration and recovery of all stolen funds, and more importantly increase the federal revenue generation base through a better, more transparent and effective tax system. And who else is more qualified to lead that reform than the man who has done it for Nigeria’s largest economy – Tunde Fowler.
Politics / Opinion- The Fear Of Tunde Fowler Is …by Funsho Akinwale by gbollybakare: 1:59pm On Aug 22, 2015
TUNDE Fowler has become a much dreaded man or sorts, particularly to stalwarts of Lagos high society. Fowler could be mistaken for the Chancellor of the Exchequer, a man whose duties entrust in him the responsibility of using all legal means at his disposal to collect revenue on behalf of the Lagos State Government.
This explains Fowler’s capacity to ‘terrorise’ every Lagos big boy or girl worth his salt. More importantly, it explains why in Lagos State, every monetary venture never escapes his marauding tax collectors. Today, the fear of Tunde Fowler is indeed, the begininng of wisdom, particularly for the league of Lagos multi-millionaires who run businesses in the Centre of Excellence. A further check confirmed several ordeals of businessmen in the hands of Lagos State Internal Revenue Service, who are fond of avoiding taxes in Lagos despite running thriving businesses.
Fowler, who is well informed about their tricks always sends his men to target them with the intention of extracting huge sums of unpaid taxes.
The big men were forced to enter a series of negotiations to get their businesses bailed out. Some even insinuated that the goggled urbane chairman of the revenue board has tutored many of his employees to scour society journals in order to monitor their social pastimes to enable them get information that may provide them with leads on the lifestyles of the big men and women in Lagos who take delight in avoiding taxes. As a result, several socialites in Lagos these days now detest public spraying of cash or public donations so much that they eschew anything that can place the names of their businesses in the mass media.
Although shortly before the general elections, Fowler was rumored to have resigned his appointment in a bid to contest for the gubernatorial seat on the platform of All Progressives Congress (APC) in Lagos State. And till now, there is no official statement from LIRS and the Lagos State Ministry of Finance which supervises the agency on the matter but close sources within the agency said Fowler has since resigned and that he is due to handover to Executive Secretary, Bicci Ali in June.
From all indications, he is yet to resign officially. Fowler was appointed chairman of the board when Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu was governor of Lagos State. He is a Christian. He is credited with raising the revenue profile of Lagos State from a little bit below N1 billion to N18 billion monthly in 2013 and later increased late last year. It was under his tenure that Alpha Beta, a tax audit agency allegedly owned by Tinubu, consulted for LIRS until, its services were terminated by the Babatunde Raji Fashola’s goverment.

SARAKI'S- MANIPULATIVE ROAD TO JUSTICE

THE JOURNEY OF THE ORDEAL OF THE SARAKIS WITH THE EFFC AND THE POLICE HAS A HISTORY. IT DID NOT START WITH THE APC GOVERNMENT.

AHMED OJUROBA

It has become customary, every politician who comes under scrutiny from the Economic and Financial crimes commission (EFCC) cries wolf where there is none. It is tradition for them to want to make the general public see it as a witch hunting exercise but a wise man once told me that a man of integrity they say has nothing to hide.
Senate president Olubukola Saraki is the latest in the long line of corrupt politicians to tow this line. It has become some kind of a classic act. Working the sentiments of Nigerians, these people have mastered the act of playing victim.
It is an absolute insult on our collective intelligence for Senator Sakari and his cohorts to claim that he is being witch hunted.
One needs not do too much digging to find that the distinguished senator's running with the law dates way back. Senator Saraki had been a person of interest of the anti-graft agencies and news first broke in February 2012 that the former governor of Kwara had been invited by the police in connection with severe cases of "conspiracy and money laundering". The police letter has reference number CR.3000/X/SFU/ADM/BFC/Vol.17/2014.
The police had accused Saraki of using fictitious names to launder several million of dollars into the accounts of some companies owned by him.

“There are several unusual cash inflows into the dollar domiciliary account of Carlislie Properties and Investment Ltd by Polybags Industry (Nig) Ltd.,” according to the police affidavit.
It added that PolyBags industry made payments of between US$4,500 and US$10,000 eight (cool separate times on 24th August, 2010 amounting to $78,000.

Curiously, the police said, “Polybags Industry NIg. has denied ever making such payments”, raising suspicion that the name polybag was probably used as a fictitious name to launder the money.

Police said different individuals linked to Saraki, including one Abdul Adama, lodged unusually huge sums of money into his naira and dollar accounts. One of such accounts is identified as 003497479.

Police listed some of the transactions as follows:”On the 10th of May 2009, 18 separate lodgments of $10,000 were made by the said Abdul Adama, who also used the fictitious name of Garba Dare to make some of these lodgments the same date! It totaled US$180,000.00 in one day!

“There was also an unusual single inflow on 12th February, 2010 of the sum of $120,000 which was immediately converted to pound sterling and wired overseas through the applicant (Saraki)’s Pound Sterling Account.

“There was unusual single cash inflow on 15th February, 2010 of the sum of $US1,000,000.00 in one day! Same was also converted to pound sterling and wired overseas through British Pound Sterling account No. 441/441953/3/1/0.

“The converted dollars to pounds sterling ended up in the purchase of a real property in the United Kingdom.”
The Police also said there are “so many other unusual heavy inflows into the applicant (Saraki)’s account that were usually wired overseas to fund applicant’s American Express Card No. 374588216 836009.”

“All these lodgments made in favour of the applicants have necessitated his invitation,” the affidavit added (The Will March 24, 2014).
Shockingly, Senator Sakari did not honor this invite and the chance to clear his name but instead sought a court injunction stopping the police from arresting and prosecuting him in relation to the matter.
Represented by three Senior Advocates of Nigeria, who were led by Saka Isiaku and Lawal Rabana, Mr. Saraki had prayed that Justice Olotu restrain the special anti-fraud unit of the Nigeria police from questioning him over his involvement in the N21 Billion million loan scam perpetrated at the now defunct InterContinental Bank.
When his bid to secure a court order stopping the police from arresting him failed, the beleaguered senator reportedly went into hiding.
Saraki’s connection with Joy Petroleum casts a huge shadow of doubt over his claims of innocence in the 21 billion loan scam from the now defunct Intercontinental bank.
Police investigation into the crime revealed that the accounts of Joy Petroleum, from which they found that credit transfers were made at a time the sole operator of the account, Mr. Obahor, a former aide of Mr. Saraki was long deceased.
The police also wondered how a debt of N9.7 Billion was dramatically written off from the same account that in turn was closed by one Abdul Adamu, who they found out to be an aide of Mr. Saraki.
The police were also puzzled to find that the head office of the company on No 30 Saka Tinubu Street, Victoria Island, Lagos belongs to Mr. Saraki. The police also question the fact that he had used his office as the Governor of Kwara State to influence the purchase of the stock of the company by the Kwara State Ministry of Finance. Above all, the police said Mr. Saraki had been an open promoter of Joy Petroleum Ltd. and on several occasions used his personal properties to guarantee loans taken by the company.
It is therefore absolutely absurd to sell us the line that Sakari is being targeted as even his wife, Oluwatoyin Sakari, a director in one of the companies been investigated in the loan scam, had also been grilled for her involvement in financial deals that have now gone awry.
The EFCC under the last administration was unable to complete its investigation into these matters because of interference by the powers that be whom the senator was wining and dining with at the time.
All such cases are being reopened by the anti-graft agency and if Senator Bukola Saraki hands and those of his associates are truly as clean as we would make us believe, then I see no reason for them to be worried.
The question then begs if Saraki would this time take the chance to clear his name once and for all or keep playing the game of elusiveness that he has come to master over the years.

Alleged forgery of Senate Rules: Controversy as Police seek political solution

By Emmanuel Aziken, Political Editor

LAGOS — CONTROVERSY has swallowed the report of the Police investigations into the alleged forgery of the 2015 Standing Rules of the Senate following its recommendation of a political solution on the issue.
The 13-page report of the Police investigations obtained by Vanguard which details submissions from seven senators belonging to the National Unity Forum led by Senator Ahmad Lawan affirmed that the amendment of the rules was not according to the laid down rules of the Senate.
The Police report termed the development as not only “criminal, but portends danger for our growing democracy.”

Senate President, Bukola Saraki and Ike Ekweremadu, Deputy Senate President
However, the report, which did not indict any person, drew back from recommending prosecution. The report authored by the Deputy Inspector General of Police, DIG Dan‘Azumi Doma, concluded by suggesting that the casefile be forwarded to the Attorney-General of the Federation for his assessment as to whether a crime had been committed or whether the action laid within the internal affairs of the Senate.
The police conclusion is in the wake of mutterings by elements supportive of the Senator Bukola Saraki-led leadership of dire consequences on senators who petitioned the police for dragging the internal affairs of the Senate to the Police. The development promises a showdown between the two camps as the Senate resumes tomorrow.
Further controversies stoked the development, yesterday, following the submission by a senior staff of the National Assembly that the amendment was at the behest of the leadership of the former Senate.
Despite that submission, it emerged, yesterday, that no member of the David Mark leadership was questioned by the Senate. Senator Mark was not available for comment on the development, yesterday, as a senior aide said he was not available.
Senator Ike Ekweremadu, the Deputy President of the Senate; Senator Victor Ndoma-Egba, SAN, the leader of the 7th Senate both denied being questioned by the police in separate interfaces yesterday.
Ekweremadu, who has been in media spotlight over the issue was not once mentioned in the report by the police.
Meanwhile, the report has drawn controversy upon claims that the Police received submissions from only senators belonging to the Senate Unity Forum, in the All Progressives Congress. Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, senators and senators aligned to the Senator Bukola Saraki inclined Like Mind Group were yesterday muttering that their side to the issue was not taken.
Those questioned
The seven senators, who were questioned by the DIG Doma-led team, were Senators Suleiman Hunkuyi, Secretary of the Senate Unity Forum who wrote the petition to the police, Ahmad Lawan, Abdullahi Gumel, Kabiru Marafa, Gbenga Ashafa, Robert Boroffice and Abu Ibrahim.
Also questioned were former Senator Ita Enang, who served as chairman of the Business and Rules Committee in the 7th Senate; Senator Babafemi Ojudu and Solomon Ewuga, all of whom are members of the APC.
Also questioned were the Clerk of the National Assembly, Alhaji Salisu Maikasuwa; the Deputy Clerk of the National Assembly, Mr. Ben Efeturi; Secretary, Directorate of Legal Services in the National Assembly, Mr. Daniel Adem and Secretary of the Senate Committee on Business and Rules, Dr. Ogozy Nma.
All of those questioned with the notable exception of Mr. Efeturi, who also doubles as the Clerk of the Senate, denied knowledge of the amendment.
The Clerk of the National Assembly, Maikasuwa, who presided over the election, is quoted in the report as saying: “that he did not refer to any Senate Standing Order/Rules but used the normal procedures for the opening of a new parliament.”
The report also quoted him as denying knowledge of the existence of the production of the Senate Standing Rules 2015 as amended.
Efeturi, on the other hand, however, affirmed that the production of the 2015 Standing Rules was in line with convention as he said that the same procedure was used in the production of the standing rules in 2003, 2007 and 2011.
Efeturi, who is about the longest serving legislative bureaucrat in the National Assembly with experience running from the Second Republic, according to the police report is quoted as saying that “the Senate Standing Orders 2003, 2007 and 2011 followed the same procedure as that of the 2015.
“He emphasised that in the parliament, amendment of Standing Orders is by practice and not necessarily by procedure. He further stated that the ruling of the Senate President on the June 24, 2015 that the Senate Standing Orders of the Senate 2015 is authentic is final, relevant and cannot be challenged. He attached a copy of the debates of the Senate on Wednesday, June 24 24 where the Senate President ruled that the Senate Standing Order 2015 was the authentic Standing Orders of the 8th Senate.”
The police in its findings nevertheless dismissed Efeturi’s contention, saying that so long as it was not done in the lifetime of the Mark Senate that it was irregular.
But despite the dismissal of that submission, the police drew back from making an indictment. Rather, the police sought counsel from the Attorney General on whether the issue was a crime or leave it as an internal affair of the Senate.
Findings
(a) That on the 9th of June, 2015, a document entitled “the Senate Standing Order 2015 as amended” was distributed to senators of the 8th Senate for their inauguration as members.
(b) That the contents of the Senate Standing Order 2015 as amended are substantially different from the Senate Standing Order 2011 as amended. Sections 2(iv), 3(3)E, I,ii,iii, G and H, 5 and 7 of the Rules are different in the two Orders.
(c) That the Senate Standing Order 2015 as amended was used by the clerks of the National Assembly and the Senate as the Senate Standing Orders to inaugurate and conduct elections into the offices of the presiding officials of the Senate viz the Senate President, the Deputy Senate President etc.
(d) That the testimonies of some members of the 7th Senate including that of the chairman of the Business and Rules Committee and Senators of the 7th Senate indicate that the Senate Standing Order 2011 was not amended during the tenure of the 7th Senate which ended on the 8th of June, 2015.
(e) That the procedure for the amendment of the Senate Standing Order as contained in Section 110 of the Senate Standing Order 2011 as amended stipulates that any amendment to the Senate Standing Orders should be in line with the following procedures:
i. Any senator desiring to amend any part of the Rules or adding any new clause shall give notice of such amendments in writing to the President of the Senate giving details of proposed amendment.
ii. The President shall within seven working days cause the amendment to be printed and circulated to members. Thereafter it shall be printed in the Order Paper.
iii. The movers of the amendment shall be allowed to explain in details the proposed amendments, thereafter the Senate shall decide by simple majority votes whether the amendment should be considered.
iv. If the decision is to consider the amendments, then another date shall be set aside by the Rules and Business Committee, whereby opportunity would be given to Senators to further propose amendments but must strictly be confined to the original amendments.
v. Two third majorities shall decide the amendments and such amendments shall form part of the Rules of the Senate.
(f) That the Clerk of the Senate, Mr. Benedict Efeturi, who doubles as the Deputy Clerk of the National Assembly confirmed in his statement that the Senate Standing Order 2015 as amended was produced on the orders of the Senate leadership without following the amendment procedures as contained in the Senate Standing Orders 2011 as amended.
(g) That the allusion by the clerk of the Senate to procedure of amending the Standing Orders of Parliament through “practise and not necessarily by procedure” is a misplaced analogy and undemocratic because the Nigerian Senate has clearly laid-down without a provisio, the procedure to be adopted in amending its standing orders as contained in section 110 of 2011 Senate Standing Orders.
Recommendations
5. From the findings, especially from the statement of the Clerk of the Senate who doubles as the Deputy Clerk of the National Assembly, the Senate Standing Orders 2015 which was used to inaugurate the 8th Senate on the 9th of June 2015 was ordered by the leadership of the 7th Senate without following Section 110 of the Senate Standing Rules 2011 as amended which requires that any amendment to the Senate Standing Rules must be debated and approved by the senators on the floor of the Senate.
5.1. This practice where some group of senators amend the Rules of the Senate without following legal procedures is not only criminal but portends danger for our growing democracy and should be discouraged. However, it is recommended that the file be sent to the Attorney General of the Federation for vetting to determine if this conduct constitutes crime or should be treated as an internal affair of the Senate.

Pay Waku no attention- Tinubu Media Office

No one should pay former Senator Waku any attention. We know when he is broke and needs a quick fix. What he has said is fit for the trash.  Waku is Godwin Daboh resurrected. No one should dignify Waku's tales by moonlight with any attention or ever take him serious.  For any serious individual with a reputation to protect Waku is a very poor hire. Waku is an individual with no shred of reputation and a  political pariah In his home state. Tinubu does not run or dictate to the EFCC. And like countless others Tinubu has also being investigated by the EFCC severely in the past. Tinubu has no hand in the travails of any one because  he is right now very  busy working with others of like mind  on how the APC political agenda can set sail as quickly as possible. That is the urgency of now and not the tantrums of the likes of Waku.

Politics / Apc Crisis And The Myth Of Party Supremacy Emmanuel Asiwe 16 July 2015 Guest C by gbollybakare: 9:59am On Jul 18, 2015
Much has been written about the current crisis rocking the All Progressives Congress (APC), with some people expressing concerns about a possible disintegration of the party. The crisis, as serious as it may appear, is normal and expected – even if the party had lost the presidential election.

The truth is that the APC was never a political party in a classical sense of the word. It was and remains a fragile coalition of disparate groups and groupings united by a common ambition to defeat President Jonathan and the former ruling party, the PDP. It was to that extent merely a multipurpose vehicle for capturing power. With that objective achieved, it is normal that the secondary contradictions that were papered over during the ‘struggle’ would come to the fore.

As the APC re-engineers to become a true political party rather than a coalition of disparate interests, it will not be abnormal for many of the founders to leave the party or be pushed out. This is what is meant by the dictum that every revolution, like Saturn, devours its children. History bears this out: the Cultural Revolution in China, the Night of Long Knives in Nazi Germany, Stalin’s purge in Russia or the case of Imre Nagy, the highly respected former Hungarian head of state, who was the symbol of the country’s uprising against Soviet rule in 1956 but who ended up being hanged for treachery by his country's communist leaders. Though the APC was more of a mass movement, parallels can be drawn between it and revolutionary movements that often aggregate different tendencies to win power first before dealing with the contradictions within the movement. The PDP itself is unlikely to remain the same. I expect the party to be captured by new forces
who will re-engineer it according to their image.

Amid its crisis, I was surprised that the APC failed to realize that the 2015 presidential election was fought on the shadows of the PDP’s zoning controversy of 2010/2011 which it benefitted immensely from. Consequently one had expected the party to take the issue of zoning very seriously by, for instance, zoning its offices shortly after the election rather than dithering on the issue and allowing powerful interests to coalesce and go after their own interests. No matter how romantic we want to be, ‘federal character principle’, ‘zoning’ and ‘power rotation’ arrangements have become key organizing principles of our political economy and important periscopes for assessing any regime. Romantics or opponents of these organizing principles often fail to realize that what they call ‘merit’ and ‘competence’, in a polarized society like ours, are socially constructed and do not exist outside the framework of the markers through which
people filter realities. This is another way of saying that these are subjectively determined in a polarized society like ours and will always depend on where one stands in the fault lines and the active controversies of the day.

There is a very important lesson to be drawn from the APC’s electoral victory at the national level and the crisis that followed the party’s victory:

Largely because the party was the first opposition political party in the country to defeat a ruling party at the national level, its template for that success will for sometime be a reference manual. The general perception is that APC was an alliance between the dominant elites in the South West and a charismatic leader capable of galvanizing huge support in the North West and North East (what some people call the ‘core north’). It is expected therefore that in future, parties aiming for electoral success at the national level will now have to look for broad alliances among other geopolitical zones. This may seriously dilute the notion of any region having a permanent ally and even the tyranny of the majority ethnic groups such as through a successful coalition of different ethnic minority groups. If the APC’s victory leads to the pattern of inter-ethnic and inter-regional alliances among the elites becoming more dynamic than hitherto, it
will not only advance the cause of nation-building but will also infuse integrity into the political process because groups without history of treachery will be highly courted.

But how does the APC resolve its festering crisis?

The President reportedly called on the feuding politicians to “sheath their ambitions.” With all due respect, I am not sure this will be an effective way of resolving the dispute because it assumes, not correctly in my opinion, that politicians are primarily driven by a sense of altruism and patriotism. In my opinion, any serious analysis of the political behaviour of Nigerian politicians must start from their enlightened self interest. Politicians do not “sheath their ambitions”. They retreat if the structural constraints do not permit the realization of such ambitions or the cost of pursuing that ambition has become unbearable. This is what the 19th century Prussian General Von Clausewitz would call the ‘rational calculus of war’ (matching the means against the objectives of war). For politicians, politics, just like war, is an instrument for achieving an objective. Since politicians are not in politics for the heck of it, you cannot
sermonize to them to forget their ambitions (especially when you have achieved yours and you are not offering any compensation to those who “sheath” their own ambitions) and expect them to obey you.

It is true that Buhari’s charisma among the northern voters drove the process of the APC becoming a mass movement (despite making more money available to candidate Buhari and providing a more national platform, the new party added a mere three million votes to what Buhari had consistently achieved on his own since 2003). Despite this, other groupings and tendencies in the party – the Tinubu group, the ‘New PDP’ Governors that defected to the party and energized its base etc- could also claim that without their contributions, the party would perhaps not have succeeded and are therefore entitled to the ‘sinecures of war’.

Party supremacy

A battle cry in the current crisis in the APC is the doctrine of ‘party supremacy’. But what does this really mean? Does party supremacy for instance mean that the APC should select ministers and advisers and foist them on President Buhari?

There are two main perspectives when Nigerians brandish the phrase ‘party supremacy’: There are those who believe that before an election, the supremacy of the party over its candidates for offices should be unquestionable but that once the candidates win elections, they should be allowed to be guided by the national interest – meaning that such people should be allowed to follow their conscience. There are however others who believe that the decision of a political party must be abided by its members before and after elections because the party provided the platform on which its elected members ascended to power.

Both perspectives represent only partial views of reality. For instance, in parliamentary system where the notion of the supremacy of the party is strongest, there is what is called ‘conscience’ or ‘free’ vote where parliamentarians are allowed to follow their conscience in voting. In the run-up to the Iraq war in 2003 for instance, several Tory and Labour MPs in the UK defied their parties and voted against the war.

For those who believe that the party should be supreme at all times, this is often based on an erroneous assumption that in our type of societies parties are structured and institutionalized around core beliefs or that they are neutral arbiters in the intra-elite competitions for power, glory and lucre. Thus while many people know what the Labour and Conservative parties stand for in the UK or what the Republicans and the Democrats stand for in the USA, the same cannot be said of our parties. Like the general society where the absence of strong institutions means that organizations are often controlled by the ‘strong man’ or a cabal, Nigerian parties are also controlled by strong individuals and oligarchs. In essence what people call ‘party supremacy’ is merely the projection of the interests of the ‘Big man’ oligarchic group that controls the party structures at any point in time. Let me give an example:

Shortly after Jonathan became the President following the death of Umaru Yaradua, Vincent Ogbulafor, who was then Chairman of the ruling PDP was shoved aside after declaring that going by the party’s zoning and power rotation arrangements, it would be the turn of the north to produce the president in 2011. Not long after Jonathan entrenched himself in power, the entire leadership of the PDP favoured his running for President in 2011- despite the reported earlier party arrangement which ceded to the north the right to produce the president in 2011. So which of these two contradictory stands of the PDP could be taken as the party’s doctrine on which its supremacy should be enforced?

The point in the above is that it is wrong to have a romantic notion of any Nigerian political party as an impartial arbiter in the intra elite struggles and feuds over power and lucre. The truth is that ‘party supremacy’ is a projection of the wishes of the Big Man or oligarchic group that funds and controls the party. This is largely why powerful individuals and groups who have the confidence and resources often ‘rebel’ against the use of such veneer by their rivals to gain advantage.

ENSURE SUSTENANCE OF RAMADAN VIRTUES BEYOND FESTIVITIES - Ex-Gov. Daniel

As Moslems world over mark the end of fasting period, the immediate past governor of Ogun State, Otunba Gbenga Daniel has urged adherents of the faith to keep up with the virtues gained during the Ramadan period which included piety, patience, tolerance, perseverance, humility, self denial and service to humanity.

In his Eid-El-Fitri message to the people of Ogun State, Otunba Daniel tasked Moslem faithful in the state to embrace the spirit of love, forgiveness and brotherhood preached by Islam and other religions.

While congratulating muslims in the state on the successful observation of the Holy Month, he implored the people to celebrate the Id-El Fitri with moderation and in the spirit of Ramadan which encouraged peace and charity.

At the national scene, the former governor condemned the heinous activities of the Boko Haram sect that have sent thousands of people to early graves with impunity. The series of attacks by the group in the holy month of Ramadan, he stated, were not only appalling but evil. He then appealled to the people of the country to be full of prayers noting that Allah remains the only dependable defender in this turbulent period of our national life. He also challenged the international community to rise in support of Nigeria in the fight against terrorism.”

Advocating for unfettered unity, cooperation and dedication among Muslims and other religions as a way to foster development, brotherhood, love and overall national unity, Otunba Daniel also solicited prayers for those at the helm of affairs at different levels of governance in the country for divine wisdom to confront the myriads of challenges facing the nation for Nigeria to claim its rightful position in the comity of nations.

Politics / How Journalists Allegedly Collected N2m Bribe From Saraki by gbollybakare: 7:31pm On Jul 15, 2015
A group of journalists, particularly from major newspapers in the country who parade themselves as "special reporters" and "select newsmen", a little over two weeks ago solicited and collected a N2 million bribe from the newly elected Senate President, Bukola Saraki, with the intent of laundering his image in the media.
>>
>> The front line journalists who champion the extortion scheme for the "special reporters" are: Sunday Aborisade of the Punch Newspaper and Henry Umoru of Vanguard.
>>
>> Even worrisome is the fact that these journalists, numbering eight have constituted themselves into a cabal that works in concert with the Senate President's media team to skew their stories to suit Senator Saraki's political interest.
>>
>> Only last week, Special Adviser on Print Media to the Senate President, Chuks Okocha, graciously flaunted a bribe which he handed personally to the "special reporters" alongside a skewed press statement issued from a meeting which held between the Senate President and a delegation from the Central Bank of Nigeria led by its Governor, Godwin Emefiele, an event that was covered by the media.
>>
>> Investigations revealed that the conduct of some Special Assistants on the Media team of the Senate President has emboldened the sheer arrogance displayed by these "special reporters" whose greed for monetary benefits have clogged their sense of morality and Professionalism.
Clearly determined to build upon their stash, the "special reporters" numbering eight, over two weeks ago collected a N2m bribe from the senate president for an interview whose contents were edited by the media team.
>>
>> The reporters, also in their bid to curry favours from the office of the Senate President and his Media team, have resorted to extreme means towards ensuring that they create disaffection by any means necessary between Senate President Bukola Saraki of the All Progressive Congress and his Deputy, Ike Ekweremadu who belongs to the opposition Peoples Democratic Party.
>>
>> Investigations further revealed that the desperate show of pretentious loyalty by the so called "special reporters" is done just so as to create crisis between the leadership of the senate, and from which they would be beneficiaries.
>>
>> Last week Wednesday, The Punch's Sunday Aborisade, one of the beneficiaries of the N2m bribe, skewed a story to portray the Deputy Senate President in bad light. In the story, he had reported that the Deputy Senate President said Boko Haram had worsened under the administration of President Buhari.

Recall that other media houses had in their separate stories quoted Ekweremadu in actual context, where-in the Deputy Senate President had urged Nigerians and the International community to support President Buhari in the fight against Boko Haram.

Reacting to the development, the Special Adviser on Media to the Deputy Senate President, Uche Anichukwu, in a statement issued on Thursday, described the intent behind the story as "devious."

He said: “The fact that out of the 75-man Senate Press Corps, representing various media houses, which were present at the function, only one medium sensationally skewed its statement out of context, while a second medium copied the same story without a byline (name of reporter), tells the whole story of a devious intent”.
Politics / Tribute To Tinubu by gbollybakare: 11:48am On Jul 14, 2015
I do not admire Tinubu because he is a saint.
I do not admire Tinubu because he is from the south.
I do not admire Tinubu because he is a Yoruba.
If I want saints, I will proceed to heaven not on earth. Every
human is fallible.
I admire Tinubu because;
He saved Nigeria from the danger of falling into "one party state".
He has nurtured many renowned National successors.
He listened to the voice of the masses to surrender his
personal ambition at the most critical moment.
He strategically terminated PDP 60 years life spam in 16 years.
The robust critic and critique we are enjoying today is
because Tinubu aligned himself to the masses to return the
power to them.
Tinubu has the option of joining the PDP elites to hold us hostage for another decade but he gave his all to the masses to dethrone the elites.
Political juveniles believed that APC won because of the votes from the North. No!!!, APC victory was cemented the day PMB and Asiwaju
resolved to work together.
Asiwaju and PMB almost became a Nomadic by visiting every human that can help midwife Nigeria
salvation. Those Nomadic Almajiri walk later brought salvation to
us.
God willing, PMB is the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
Anybody, any cabal, any Viju milk activist, attempting to humiliate Asiwaju must have me to contend with.
An average PDP man is sad with Asiwaju because he brought
them to their knee.
If anyone thinks that Bringing down Asiwaju is his project, that mission will not only crash but it will
boomerang.
Don't tell me he is overbearing, your
"underbearing" mentors were nowhere to be found when this
country was lying critically at the intensive care of the universe.
Recall my first line, Asiwaju is not a saint. Stop demonising what you admire out of envy. Even your mentors admire him.
He owns lagos! I hear you! Ask your grand father and parents how they acquired your so called "family
land". Is it God that allocated it to them?
You are terrorizing your neighbours and village with your kpof-kpof kobo yet you criticise a man that is
naturally addicted to technocrats irrespective of their tribe or Religion.
Hmmmmm. I don talk am ooo, Asiwaju is not a political office holder oooo. Please let him be.
He is evil, I agree, but we need more of him than your saintly specie.
Dear Asiwaju,
Good Morning!
The gentle stride of a tiger is not a symbol of cowardice.

SouthWest Professionals Forum
Press Statement
Lagos, Tuesday, July 07, 2015

The All Progressives Congress, (APC) National Leader, Asiwaju Ahmed Tinubu has been commended for his leading role in saving Nigeria from economic and political pitfalls.
The South West Professionals Forum, (SOWPROF) is a statement signed by its President, Chief Segun Ajibulu on Tuesday in Lagos praised the APC leader for risking his life and resources to seize Nigeria from a ruinous path embarked upon by the ousted Peoples Democratic party, (PDP).
"Since 1999, Asiwaju has been a pillar of democracy. He puts his hat in the ring not for himself but for the benefit of all Nigerians", Ajibulu stated adding that Tinubu has played more roles than any living Nigerian since 1993 to ensure the sustainanance of democracy. Established in 1993, the SOWPROF hosts over 10,000 Yoruba professionals in NIgerian and in the Diaspora.
Commenting on the econommic recession, Chief Segun Ajibulu, a public administrator said the future of the South West region lay in an effective and professional civil service, creative exploration of untapped natural resources and regional integration of the state’s political, economic and cultural structures.
“We are concerned with the fall in the Gross Domestic Product, (GDP) of Nigeria. We are worried that states are not able to pay salaries due to no fault of theirs. We are concerned that the civil service is currently weak and needs to be strengthened to meet the new challenges. The future of the people of the South West lay in economic and political unity of purpose”, the group stated.
With the population of the South West region in the range of 50 million people, SOWPROF added, there is the need to initiate a social security system that will take care of the needs of the aged, children and the unemployed.

Ajibulu stated “We need a system that will take care of those without the economic means to survive. No state can do it alone. All the willing SW states need to work together. This is the best way to minimize violence and tame the tide of instability in the South West region for the overall peace and wellbeing of Nigerians”, the group stated.
SOWPROF which was established in 1999 has over 5000 professionals spread across Nigeria and abroad. The group has been promoting the training of civil servants on best global techniques for efficient service delivery.
Ajibulu said that the South West should concentrate on reviving agriculture, reward for hard work, an efficient public service framework and a return to community service as one of the pillars of human development index in the region adding that the future of the South West lay in a knowledge-driven economy.
The group praised the National Leader of the All Progressives Congress, (APC) Asiwaju Ahmed Tinubu for his vision in realizing that the prosperity of Lagos state would be meaningless without the full integration of the state’s politics and economy into the greater South West family.
“In the campaign to make the South West a model, we commend the efforts of Asiwaju Ahmed Tinubu. We urge him not to relent in his efforts to unite the people of the South West for the overall interest of Nigeria.”

Politics / APC South West Frowns At Buhari's Tribal Appointments Pattern And Rejects Saraki by gbollybakare: 5:59pm On Jul 06, 2015
B-R-E-A-K-I-N-G News!!!
APC South West Frowns At Buhari's Tribal Appointments Pattern and Rejects Saraki, Dogora Election.

All the South West state Chairmen of the All Progressives Congress (APC), have express their anger and displeasure over the pattern of appointment by the President Muhammadu Buhari's administration and also vowed not to recognise the emergence of Senate President, Bukola Saraki and Speaker, House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara until the crisis revolving around the National Assembly contest is sufficiently resolved by the party.

The party chairmen are as below:-
1] Chief Henry Ajomale, Lagos state.
2] Prince Gboyega Famoodun, Osun state.
3] Alhaji Roqeeb Adeniji, Ogun state.
4] Chief Akin Oke, Oyo state.
5] Chief Olajide Awe, Ekiti state.
6] Mr. Isaac Kekemeke, Ondo state.

They insisted that the two presiding officers of the National Assembly should apologise to the party to avoid compounding their problems.

They group said that they choose silent over the ill-treatment of the national leader of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu by some elements in the APC. They advised those trying either to intimidate and embarrass Tinubu to retrace their steps as the South West response will shock everyone to the foundation.
Politics / Tinubu Replies Dino Maleye by gbollybakare: 12:09pm On Jul 06, 2015
This is another lie from their kitchen of malicious lies. They are all over the social and traditional media spewing lies and planting stories. We are not about that. Nigerians are not as gullible as they think. He is aligned with people who want to kill the party,APC, and we wish him luck, but they will not succeed because the party belongs to the Nigerian people. This blackmail like other ones will not work. It cannot stick. Adokie? Who is he? Tinubu cannot recall when last he saw him or even spoke with him. Dino should look elsewhere for people to blackmail.

Politics / Why They Are Attacking Tinubu by gbollybakare: 2:55pm On Jul 05, 2015
The seemingly coordinated vicious attacks on the former Governor of Lagos and APC National Leader Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu is a direct result of the front-line role he played in ending the 16-year reign of the PDP.
In recent times, Asiwaju Tinubu has been the target of attacks both in the traditional and Social Media, apparently orchestrated by those who blame him for everything happening to the party, especially the crisis triggered by the National Assembly leadership election.
The attacks have become stronger since Friday, when he was needlessly pilloried for not attending the NEC meeting of the party in Abuja, called to resolve the National Assembly leadership crisis.
''There is no doubt that the attacks are being orchestrated by those who have not forgiven Asiwaju for the visionary role he played in bringing about the merger of opposition parties into the APC, which then went ahead to win power at the centre.
''But for Asiwaju's uncommon vision and extraordinary politics, such a merger could never have been consummated, not to talk of winning power at the centre in less than two years of its registration by INEC.
''Add that to APC 's unprecedented feat of becoming the first party to unseat a ruling party, and you can then begin to understand why those who had their long snouts tucked into the nectar of power under the PDP will never like the APC visioner. Come to think of it, no PDP member or supporter will ever see anything good in Asiwaju'' one source said.
Another source said that in a twist of irony, Asiwaju's unprecedented success in politics has also been the source of anger and hatred directed at him by those who were very comfortable with the status quo, especially since the beginning of the current political dispensation in 1999.
''Recall that when Obasanjo embarked on his onslaught against the South-west in 2007, only Lagos State under Tinubu survived. But for his survival then, which he then leveraged upon to retake power from the PDP in the region, there would have been no APC today, because the ACN - the key legacy party of the APC - would never have been born.
''The PDP, lacking visioners like Tinubu, never for once imagined that some opposition elements will put their differences aside and opt to work together for higher interests, like it happened in the case of the APC, to unhorse them. That was why, in their moment of power stupor, they boasted that the PDP will rule for 60 years.
The source said but for Tinubu, that prediction of power longevity, boastful as it might have seemed to many, would have come to pass.
''It is therefore not strange that the man, Tinubu, is being attacked and blamed for every perceived wrong in Nigeria, in the APC or for allegedly seeking to grab every imaginable post in his party.

''But there is no cause for alarm. Every great man in history has gone through the same motion of being pilloried, being misunderstood or being simply hated for their greatness. It is not about to change with Tinubu, but like it or not, his place in Nigeria's history is guaranteed. He has earned that and no level of attacks can take it from him.
''Tinubu should take solace in the words of another great man of his time, Albert Einstein, who said: ''Great spirits have always encountered violent opposition from mediocre minds.''
