Education › Re: Lagos Approves Yoruba Language For Testing Pupils Seeking Admission Into JSS1 by Gboom: 5:17pm On Sep 05, 2024
Macphenson:
This is quite funny. A whole lot of Igbo people learnt yoruba language years ago before these funny power grabbers came to be. We learnt it because it helped us in our businesses and communicating better not because any bigot or power grabber persuaded us to.

Even before I came to Lagos, some of my kinsmen when they come back for xmas, speak Yoruba fluently in the vliiage. Trust me Igbo kids will speak both Yoruba and Igbo fluently, obviously having advantage anywhere amongst their pars. They will always excel EVEN in Lagos.

Thank God also this is limited to the dilapidated low standard, low quality Public schools. Private Schools to the rescue for other non speaking Yorubas.

Imagine an Indian, German, American or Hausa child being told to speak Yoruba before they will access education in a state the Lingual Franca is English, they will dump the already shitty public schools for quality education in Private Schools

Private schools to the rescue. Shitty Public schools for Shukura, Ayomide, Basira, Oluti, Rukka etc.
Speaking Yoruba generally will foster unity among Yoruba and other ethnic groups unlike somebody speaking a language that is different from yours and you will be thinking they are talking bad about you

Many of them get grants from NGOs abroad which they waste on logistics like SUVs instead of the actual researches. They see themselves as very erudite yahoo boys. There are funds being disbursed in Nigeria in different capacities but they end up being diverted for private uses.

The beauty of Nigeria is that they have tens of hundreds or thousands of professors. But there is nothing in the country to show that anyone of them has an I.Q above 50. Is it just by sitting in class, reading and passing exams? What impacts have they had in the society at large? When covid hit, all the virologists disappeared into their shells until vaccines came from the western world. Engineers? Many of them are working as technicians under Lebanese contractors.

We need to understand what education is all about. It doesn't end with bogus titles. Our problem-solving algorithm seems to be 1) Get the education 2) when problems arise, throw away the brain and try to solve
it with prayers and fasting.

How much is your government releasing to support their research and development from their budget annually

All these praises are down to he knows how give and support other politicians with huge sum of money for very long time till he spent more to win the election. Even the one that said we no give shi shi spent money also.
Nigerian politics is always to the highest bidder that is why corruption and manipulation of public cannot be curbed

Do not be deceived, she may be one of the old politicians' daughters who has converted public assets to their own or she works online which can be done in Nigeria as well or she has significant investments which is sustainable enough to make her comfortable in Nigeria or she has already secured a good pay job in Nigeria
If the one of the assumptions above is not met, she may likely relocate back to London she is running away from

Racoon:
Tinubu’s tribulation agbadorian economics is affecting everyone now. In-house and foreign macro-industries or establishments are just folding up with gusto because of a economy bastardized by an illiterate but certificate forging drug baron whose only claim is entitlement to a presidency he knows nothing about. Dangote and all these elites like Tony Emelelu Femi Otedola all saw this disaster and gave it support. Now the rich are also crying.
Bros. you should know more than this. Liberty Merchant Bank has folded up for donkey years now, come to think of it, which bank can 1.2 billion buy in this present dispensation?

Is this why privatisation and deregulation capitalism of PDP is better than government ownership of socialists and pseudo progressives?
Imagine how much subsidy would have been paid to the DISCO instead of liquidating and selling it to another investor to run it for profit and pay taxes to the government?

Now you know why the Russians, Indians and Chinese abandoned communism and socialism to unleash their full productive potentials.
Pdp under Jonathan sold PHCN in pieces as DISCOS

Alot of things have gone wrong in Nigeria not only corruption, tribalism also have done damage. We need total cleansing of mentality also, our approach towards life is something Else but if I become the president I will fixed everything.

Smuggle me in to ask rock and declare me the president— I have the solution!
Forget tribalism, corruption is in the heart of almost Nigerians trying to reap where they did not sow.
