Hello pls advise me. I applied for evisa on 15th August to attend a 3days conference to start this weekend and I had to book my return flight because it was one of the criteria on the form. Up until today Friday have not received the visa the status says "Ready Batch" can I still proceed on the trip to SA like that and maybe get visa on arrival at the airport or make an appeal there. The organisers of the conference has sent mail to the Consular and all no response |

Tattooboy: my view is;Re: 1. Because the card was hacked 2. Yes they are responsible 3. Available on request |
This is the experience of my mum, when her purse containing her GTbank ATM card, phone and some money was stolen at dutse market Abuja on the 1st of september 2014. my brother went to the bank the same day to request for the atm to be blocked it was denied and given GTbank care line to call, which we tried it was unavailable. On getting to the bank in kubwa, Abuja the next morning to complain to their customer care only to be replied with a beaming smile as if its an usual issue (mayb its not news to her). Just to break the news that more than 200k which include her salary which was paid the same day was gone. The Bank said: 1. They have the picture of the criminal 2. They don't have information on the time the withdraw was made 3. Close to 7 Withdraws of mostly 20k and 30k took place in different ATM point in the city The Police said: 1. This is not their first case and they have caught bank workers conniving with thieves to generate ATM pin code using the card serial number 2. The bank should be held responsible judging from past experiences 3. We should make sure we come with enough money (although that's not a problem if it won't be much) My worries are;- 1. How come the criminal withdrew more than 200k in less than 12 hours(not minding the withdraw limit by CBN) without no clue of ATM pin 2.What happened to secure ATM card, are they now hackable? 3. Can a common market pick pocket thief hack ATM account the same day, it was stolen? My concerns 1. Our ATM cards are no longer safe when stolen because they are hackable at least this bank own is 2. Before I get another bank, this present bank should take responsibility for their porous ATM security and expose the culprit within their coffers or I press charges with all evidences, after I release name of the bank and details of the account for public information. Now I understand how Peter of Psquare felt when he threatened to expose his bank for fraud. |
