*OFFICIAL INAUGURATION/SWEARING-IN OF MEMBERS OF THE 7TH SESSION OF THE ENUGU STATE HOUSE OF ASSEMBLY* (written by Febechukwu Nwagbo, aka Febechi) While I congratulate the elected members of the Enugu State House of Assembly on their official inauguration and swearing-in, I wish to remind them that the position they occupy is not for their personal interest but for the overall interest and good of their constituencies and Ndi Enugu at large. . Few simple things to NOTE: . ●You are a Representative meaning some group of people largely in the rural villages including very old and feeble men and women and youth, sent you there as their voice and sight. DO NOT DISAPPOINT THEM! . ●While your primary responsibility is to make laws, please make good laws for the sake of sanity and posterity, and do review/amend obsolete laws to serve the yearnings of our present reality. . ●DO NOT be too quick to consider, approve and not approve matters brought to the floor of the House. . ●DO NOT be too slow to act on issues that demand urgent and paramount consideration. . ● Be fair, just and diligent in Performing your oversight functions. In all just be a good #Congressman #Parliamentarian #Legislator #Lawmaker #Representative #Citizen God bless Enugu State! God bless Nigeria! Enugu State is in the Hand of God #7thSession #State #Enugu #042 By Febechukwu Nwagbo, aka Febechi |

Last Thursday’s listing of MTN Nigeria shares on the Premium Board of the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) has made it possible to identify the shareholders of the telecoms firm. Many Nigerians believed the Nigerian government owned part of the South African firm through an unspecified equity holding by the Nigeria Sovereign Investment Authority (NSIA). But a review of the listing memorandum filed by MTN Nigeria in support of its application for the enlistment of its shares on the NSE revealed the profiles of the shareholders of the company. The list did not include either the Nigerian government or the NSIA. PREMIUM TIMES learnt that the NSIA investment “is very small” and could not have been listed among those of the big players. The document dated May 15, 2018, showed 11 owners of MTN Nigeria. They own the entire 20,354,513,050 Ordinary Shares of the company valued at about N407.1 billion as at the time MTN applied to be listed. [sup][/sup] "The rigging was too much. I was the PO for my polling unit. They wanted to kill us yesterday. They subjected us to abject fear and anxiety. Nothing like card reader, PVC and the rest. They'll just bring figures and ask you to sign, stamp and give them ballot papers to thumbprint. We didn't even bring out our card readers. The total number of voters in my polling unit is 1220. These people gave APC 1000 votes, PDP 200 and APGA 20. That's how APC won. So this is how elections are being conducted in the north. And we in the east will be wasting our time and energy queuing up, doing all manner of nonsense all in the name of free and fair election. At some point, agents were signing, stamping and thumbprinting ballot papers at once. We didn't see even one voters card. When we got back, we were so happy the result would be cancelled because we were told during the training that manual voting isn't valid. To our greatest surprise, INEC didn't even request for our card readers. They didn't even ask us how the election went. They didn't even check the signatures on the ballot papers. They didn't even ask why we had so many mistakes on our result sheets. They just copied the figures and asked us to go home. "So my dear, INEC is a very big scam. Nigeria needs God's intervention." |
The catholic Bishop of Awka Diocese in Anambra state, Most Rev. Paulinus Ezeokafor, was fully present on the election day as he exercises his franchise as a patriotic Nigerian. The church was really represented.

It's axiomatic that corp members are also major stake holders in determining the success of the election, hence let's be civil. However please remember that we are more sensitive that the sensitive materials. Be at alert, be cordial, be humble and be civil. The founder and general overseer of the Omega Fire Ministry International, Apostle Johnson Suleman, has warned his congregants against casting their votes for someone “who will cut their neck”. In a video making the rounds on social media, Suleman said God told him that it was better to vote for someone who will steal the money than for someone who will cut their necks. Although the cleric did not mention names, the battle of who rules Nigeria in the next fours years is between President Muhammadu Buhari of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, and Alhaji Atiku Abubakar of the main opposition Peoples Democratic Party, PDP. Apostle Suleman, who was addressing members of his church, pointed out that there may not better options for Nigerians to choose from, but, according to him, a thief was better than a killer. He said, “Even if you are deaf, can’t you see? Let anybody be angry, I’ll say what I want to say. “Never vote for anybody that will cut off your neck. I said so. Put it on internet; take it everywhere. “Listen, we may not have a better option; We may not have a better whatever. “But, a man that will steal your money is better than the one that will take your life. I have spoken. The Lord told me to speak this morning.” |
