Damp treatment in Nigeria is the fastest growing business in house construction today. People are prepared to spend as little as they can on their foundation without realising or gloss over the fact that foundation is the most structurally critical section of a building. Get it wrong from start, big big trouble in the near future.

That's the point he's making. At this level, Clients and Contractors should know that using DPM and DPC at the foundation stage is Vital.
It's understandable for houses built 10 years ago and much older ones but not the recent ones.

Dampness in building messes up a structure, it even gives the property owner psychological damage, you look at the building and feel so bad.

You're right. There is no easy way permanent solution other than surface treatment mostly.
That's what we do most times cos rising dampness is a foundation issue.

I believe a lot of Contractor and Client will take installation of DPM and DPC very seriously henceforth.

It might be the materials or not enough decking hooks to hold the pop firm.

Let's assume this is true, it's the artisan or contractor's reputation that is at stake.
Client may not know everything but would want to work with his/her budget. You are to convince or at best leave the job.
