Politics › Ondo Received N6.5bn Paris Club Re-fund by gen2briz(op): 8:13pm On Dec 14, 2016
Ondo State government, on Tuesday, announced that it has received N6.5billion as part payment of money owed it by the Federal Government on the excess deductions made from the state account on the Paris Club payment, just as the state governor, Dr Olusegun Mimiko, has ordered that part of the fund be used to offset workers salary.

In a statement issued by the Commissioner for Information, Mr Kayode Akinmade, the government said the N6.5 billion is from the about 185million dollars owed the state on the Paris Club deductions.

According to the statement, out of the N6.5 billion received, the state government would get N4.37 billion, which represents 67.3 per cent of the sum, while the local councils in the state will get N2.1 billion, which represents 32.7 per cent of the sum paid.

Following this development, the state governor, Dr Mimiko has directed that 50 per cent of the fund be used to pay salaries while the balance would be expended on running the state.

Phones › How My Samsung Galaxy Exploded And Destroyed My Property Worth N2 Million’ by gen2briz(op): 8:36pm On Dec 10, 2016
A bizarre incident that can better expressed with the saying, “Wonder shall never end” happened when the Samsung Galaxy phone belonging to one Rilwan A. Bello, a civil servant with the Federal Ministry of Education, exploded destroying his property in the house worth over N2 million.

The incidence which was said to have occurred around 7:30pm, on December 2, 2016 left Bello and his family, devastated.

According to Bello, I was charging my Samsung Galaxy, S6 Edge while lying on bed, with the Samsung Galaxy on the mattress

“Suddenly, I heard an explosion. Before I could say Jack Robinson, there was another blast. By the time recovered from shock of the blast, my S6 Edge with three other phones: Gionee, iPhone 4 and Nokia were all up in flame.

“I quickly dashed down stairs to get my fire extinguisher in the car, on reaching the car, I remembered I had forgotten to pick the car keys from the room.

“By the time I got back to the room, a cloud of thick smoke had envelope the room. I could not save any of my property for fear of my safety.”

Bello said, he lost properties worth more than a 2 million. Amongst the burnt items are: One MacBook retina display and ipads.

Bello said, he went to the Police station to report the incidence. “They promised to get back to me after contacting the fire service department. The Police later came to take the inventory of the damages.”

Bello who claimed to along with his civil service job, also helps his brother, Salihu Abdulkadir of Bluetooth Link Communications, located at Emab Plaza, Wuse, Abuja, manage his business.

Bello advised Samsung company to recall its other faulty products in Nigeria, just as it did, in Europe and America, when Galaxy Note 7 started exploding during charging.

“They should re-diagnosed all their phone products it should not be limited to Samsung Galaxy Note 7, alone. The lives of customers is of utmost importance.”

12. The Neighbours who do not understand space
Personal space? No. They don’t understand the concept. They’re literally almost always in your home and want to come over.

2. The neighbour that doesn’t talk to anyone
You know they exist, but not sure if they do. No kind of noise ever comes from their house too. Sometimes, you wonder how they survive with this kind of hermit life they’ve decided to adapt

Nairaland General › All The Types Of Neigbours You Are Likely To Have In A Nigerian House by gen2briz(op):
Unless you are living in an industrial area or around schools and churches, you know a few things about neighbours.
There are the good, the bad, the ugly and the really ugly.

Here are some of the types you’re likely to meet:

1. The noisy neighbour
The noisy neighbour doesn’t care about what you think. He is out there to make all the noise he can. When he’s not throwing parties, he’s listening to really loud music on his own and it leaves you wondering how it’s possible to enjoy music in this way. Chances are that he even assumes that he’s doing the neighbourhood some good by sharing his playlist.

Politics › How Governor Mimiko Funded The Certificate Legal Warfare Against Buhari by gen2briz(op): 8:37pm On Dec 07, 2016
Outgoing Ondo State governor, Olusegun Mimiko, was the arrowhead of the claim that Muhammadu Buhari, at the time the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress, did not have the West African School Certificate (WASC), a senior minister under former President Goodluck Jonathan has revealed to SaharaReporters.

According to the account, Dr. Mimiko then approached the then Attorney General of the Federation, Mohammed Bello Adoke, to issue a fiat to a lawyer from Ondo State to commence legal proceedings against Buhari, with a view to disqualifying him as a candidate.

Bello, reportedly now on self-exile in Holland, reportedly asked President Jonathan if he knew of the plan by Mimiko to prosecute Buhari for not having a WAEC certificate, but Jonathan was non-committal. That made Bello to advise against the idea, saying that by having been Head of State, an Army General and attending the War College, Buhari already had more qualifications than the WASC.

However, Mimiko decided to take matters into his own hands by funding a myriad of lawsuits to disqualify Buhari using Ondo State funds to enable several groups and lawyers to file multiple lawsuits.

The former minister, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said Mimiko was one of the hawks who pushed Jonathan to do lots of “crazy” things, including at one point asking Jonathan to order the arrest of Buhari over unproven allegations that he was aiding Boko Haram insurgents.
