Career / Re: Forget Sentiments NO Nigerian Is More Qualified Than Tony Blair's Wife. by generaldre(m): 2:52pm On May 04, 2018

Cherie Blair is very qualified but saying there is no Nigerian as qualified as she is a fallacy. There are so many Nigerians with better profile.
Appointments like this is not based only on qualifications. Influence and recognition are also as important

Career / Re: Can A Military Officer (Soldier) Resign From Service? by generaldre(m): 9:54am On Mar 08, 2018
Greene66:

A Ph.d holder is most likely a commissioned officer. And commissioned officers are still "soldiers". His dad may be a commander. Or GOC. A commissioned officer is even needed at battle more than enlisted in my opinion.
I don't think his dad is a general
You have to be a general before you can be made GOC

A very valid statement I must confess, but let's change the optics and view this from the perspective of the economic and social ramifications. 2billion naira investment would probably employ conservatively 150 people. That is family taken care of, mouths fed and a youth or youths kept our of vices like robbery, prostitution or kidnapping. He has bought himself some level of security by dropping the crime rate in his little way. Not to think of the students that may never see the floor walls of the university of their parents weren't employed.

I say this not to win an argument but to appeal to you to consider creating jobs if you had the option of stocking your garage with 2billion naira worth toys in future.
Oga he's not the fucking government and he doesn't owe y'all shit... It's his money, he made/earned it so whatever he does with his money is his problem not yours
When you have your own, use it to create jobs and send people to school. Until then let him spend HIS the way he wants. Peace

Foreign Affairs / Jordan's King Suits Up To Fight #ISIS by generaldre(m): 3:38pm On Feb 05, 2015
After the brutal execution by fire of a Jordanian pilot captured by Islamic State (also known as ISIS or ISIL), rumours have been circulating on social media that King Abdullah II of Jordan had personally led air attacks against the Islamist militia.

These were coupled with a photo (right) of the king in military fatigues. Lots of people initially doubted its authenticity, but it seems to be legitimate.

It was actually posted on the official Facebook page of the The Royal Hashemite Court (Jordan's monarchy), pretty much guaranteeing its authenticity.

The image caption simply said: "His Majesty King Abdullah II, The Supreme Commander of Jordanian Armed Forces, cuts his visit to the United States of America after the martyrdom of Muath Al Kasasbeh."

It's not clear that Abdullah was actually physically involved in attacks on ISIS, but it's not beyond belief: According to a 2013 interview, he's a keen helicopter pilot. After an early education at the UK's Royal Military Academy Sandhurst, he went on to command Jordan's special forces.

I am not supporting any party here...but you are foolish if u are a Nigerian and you are not impressed that Politicians are talking to people without spraying money. If you are used to campaign without actually talking to the politician...some of us are not. I am impressed that Osinbajo is going through routes that he normally wouldn't ply just to pass his message. We hope our politicians emulate this.

Just I said yesterday in my post "AS GEJ STORMS OAU" OAU Students gave GEJ d treatment meted against OBJ. We're non-partisan but we support anyone with good credentials and leaders. We booed GEJ and we made sure he heard us. Inspite of the tight security, we blocked the road and made sure our letter got to him personally by hand before he left. He came to have meeting with council of obesity and shared money to them. Other politicians were there too. I sighted two sons of Obanikoro, PDP chairman (Adamy Muazu) and others. All in all, GEJ saw in people's eyes that we didn't like him.
