SportsWhy Chelsea Might Crumble This Season by Generaloj5(op): 10:51am On Jul 25, 2022
The absence of former owner Roman Abramovic have thrown Chelsea under the bus as Todd Boehly arrival might not fruithful for the London club this season.

London club Chelsea has been on of the successful club in England under former owner Roman Abramovic.

The club won numerous trophies in England and also in Europe in general under the strict Russian billionaire owner.

Following the invasion of Ukraine by Russia, the U.K Government sanctioned Roman Abramovic due to his link with the Russian Government.

During the tug of war on who to handle the club during the sanction and also low financial return to the club the team began to decline little by little.

Losing games that were winnable under the tough situation faced by the club last season.

The emergence of new owner Todd Boehly and a consortium of investors spark of reactions from fans if he can deliver like the former owner.

Boehly arrival at the club made Chelsea’s best transfer negotiator and the club director Marina Granovskaia left the club as well.

The former chairman Bruce Buck also left the club and the American stepped in as an interim Chairman and director.

SportsTen Hag Excited With United Latest Signings by Generaloj5(op): 3:16pm On Jul 18, 2022
Manchester United manager Erik Ten Hag claims the signing of former Brentford player Christian Eriksen and Lisandro Martinez is a great addition to the squad.

Eriksen joined the Red Devils on a free transfer following an incredible 6 months with the Bees in the Premier League.

Meanwhile, Argentina international Martinez also joined the club from Dutch team Ajax as he is familiar with Ten Hag style of play.

The new United manager believe the addition of the two players will add more experience and depth to the squad.

“The fact that we get him, we have him now in our squad, tells everything, because I think we were really selective. It was not the point to get players in, but the right players in. I’m really happy that we succeed with Christian Eriksen,” Ten Hag said.

“The expectations are there. That’s why we get him. I’m convinced he will fit into the squad and in certain facts of our game, he will help us. I’m looking forward to that.”

SportsArteta Disappointed With Result Against Everton. by Generaloj5(op): 12:57pm On Dec 07, 2021
Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta says that he is very disappointed with the result against Everton in the Premier League.

The Gunners travelled away to the Merseyside side were defeated 2-1 despite taking the lead in the first half of the game.

Arteta while speaking with the media after the game said that they we inconsistent with the ball as he claims there was no clear threat to the opponent’s goal.

“I’m very disappointed,” Arteta told Arsenal Media. “I think in the first half we were inconsistent with the ball and we had some moments of control, we didn’t concede anything apart from the goal that was disallowed by the set-piece, but we didn’t have enough penetration or threat on the opponents’ goal.

“One of the few times we did it we scored a goal from Martin and then in the second half we had to grab the game and we tried to do that, but again, in moments we were sloppy.
He added that they were unable to utilize their chances despite creating several opportunities.

He further stated that they gave the ball away to their opponents too easily and couldn’t get a goal whenever they break the press.

“We created four big, big chances, with Eddie, two with Martin and then one with Auba at the end, and when you don’t put them in the net away from home it’s very complicated to win the game, especially if you concede in the way that we did for example with the first goal.

“We gave too many balls away too easily and encouraged them against the movement that they had in the press. The few times that we did break the press we were open on goal, but we have to do it much more consistently.”

Despite a disappointing result at Goodison Park, Mikel Arteta is delighted to have Xhaka back in his matchday squad.

“It’s the way he works and it’s the way he is,” he told Arsenal Media.

“Credit to the medical team as well for the work that they’ve done and it’s great to have him back.”

SportsCarrick Credit Team Effort Against Villareal. by Generaloj5(op): 10:28am On Nov 24, 2021
Caretaker manager Michael Carrick give credit to the whole team for massive win against Villarreal.
Caretaker manager Michael Carrick took charge of his first game as Manchester United against Villarreal in the Champions League.

The Reds became victorious in the game defeating the Spanish side 2-0 in the game as Ronaldo and Sancho’s goal gave them the winning.

It was the first game for the United since Ole Gunner Solskjaer was relive off duty and Carrick gives credit to the team.

What was said on the game.
“That one meant a lot. It was a tough, tough game, they’re a good team. They really test you and make you work, they’re really good with the ball and push you to the limit defensively.

“We had to be good at times, we had to dig in at times tonight and I thought, as the game grew, we got better. We had a little spell after half-time that we struggled to get hold of the ball, but I thought the substitutes had a massive impact.

“A clean sheet too, David [De Gea]’s had to make a save or two for us and keep us in the game when he has to. It’s a terrific night for the players, a terrific night for the club, to go through in the Champions League is amazing. That one’s for Ole that.

“Let’s be honest, I don’t think we could have hoped to have come out here and played really pretty football from the word go.

“When you have suffered results-wise and not being in a great run of form, individually and as a team, it’s not easy to just come out and let things click.”

What was said about the players.
“In some ways, tonight was the best way to win, we had to show some character, we had to dig in and fight. It went our way at times, it didn’t some other times, and, on occasions, it could have drifted away from us.

“After half-time, we got back together again, and the subs made a massive impact towards the end. The game had a bit of everything and that’s all I could have hoped for, the boys gave everything.”

SportsSmith Rowe: I Had To Overcome Fear Of Crowds. by Generaloj5(op): 9:00am On Nov 10, 2021
Emile Smith Rowe has revealed he had to overcome a fear of playing in front of crowds.
Arsenal midfielder Emile Smith Rowe has revealed he had to overcome a fear of playing in front of crowds as he broke into the Arsenal first-team.

The youngster earned his first senior England call-up this week after Marcus Rashford and James Ward-Prowse pulled out due to injury.

Smith Rowe made his first League start under Mikel Arteta and only the second of his career in a 3-1 win over Chelsea on Boxing Day last year, since when he established himself as a regular, signed a new five-year contract and taken over the No. 10 shirt previously worn by Mesut Ozil.

The midfielder admitted he inadvertently benefitted from the absence of fans due to COVID-19 restrictions at the time because of a fear dating back to his formative days prior to a difficult loan spell at Red Bull Leipzig in the first half of 2019.

“It was a big game but no fans definitely helped me,” he said. “I’m always really nervous before the game and not having that pressure of everyone shouting, that helped me a lot. I’m happy with the way things are going.

“I’m quite surprised to be honest that it’s worked out this way. I thought I wouldn’t be as confident as I am at the moment. It’s always extra special playing at the Emirates anyway.

“Maybe two seasons ago, just before I went to Leipzig, it was affecting to me. I think now I’m OK. I haven’t really changed anything.

“I think I’m always really nervous before a game. Maybe it helps, maybe it’s a good thing. It’s mainly in the changing room before the game. That’s when I’m most nervous. I have spoken to some players and that say the same as well.”

SportsRashford Receives MBE From Prince William. by Generaloj5(op): 8:20am On Nov 10, 2021
Marcus Rashford receives his MBE from Prince William for his campaign to support for children during pandemic.
Manchester United and England forward Marcus Rashford has received his MBE from Prince William in recognition of his campaign to support vulnerable children during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Rashford collected the award in a ceremony at Windsor Castle on Tuesday, where he was joined by his mother Melanie.

The 24 years old successfully campaigned for the United Kingdom government to provide free school meals to vulnerable children during lockdown.

He forced the government into two U-turns to extend their support during the summer and winter holidays and his campaign resulted in policy change.

Rashford, who was awarded the MBE last October, received the honour from the Duke of Cambridge in the first in-person investiture event since the start of the pandemic.

His mother Melanie has supported his drive for social change with her own work in local foodbanks in Manchester.

Rashford has since continued his food poverty campaign by creating a taskforce which works with major supermarkets and foodbanks in the U.K.

“There’s a lot of work to be done,” Rashford told reporters outside of Windsor Palace.

“We’re nowhere near where we want to be, or where we feel the kids deserve to be. We’ve just got to stick at it and keep going.”

The Manchester United star also wrote on Twitter: “An honour to spend the morning with you [Prince William].

Thank you for making the day so special for me and mum. Very proud.”

SportsPogba To Be Out For Two Months Due To Injury by Generaloj5(op): 7:40am On Nov 10, 2021
Paul Pogba will be sidelined for two months after he suffered a thigh injury in France training.
Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba could be out for two months with a thigh injury after the club performed their own assessments on the French man.

Pogba has withdrawn from the France squad due to the thigh injury he suffered in training on Monday.

Initial tests undertaken by the French FA and reported to United have indicated Pogba could be sidelined for between six and eight weeks. Pogba is set to return to Manchester for further scans to give club medical staff a clearer picture of the problem.

Statement released.
A statement issued by United on Tuesday read: “Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba has withdrawn from the France squad due to an injury sustained in training on Monday.

“The 28-year-old had joined up with his international teammates as Les Bleus prepare for important World Cup qualifiers against Kazakhstan and Finland.

“Unfortunately, Paul suffered a right thigh injury while taking part in a training session on Monday.

Paul Pogba is set to be unavailable until after the new year with a thigh injury.

“The French Football Federation has confirmed that Pogba will miss both of the country’s upcoming games in this November international break.”

Pogba, who is serving a three-game ban in the Premier League following his red card during the 5-0 defeat to Liverpool, was injured during a shooting drill on Monday after joining up with his France teammates.

Two months on the sideline would rule out Pogba, who has seven months left on his contract, until early January and see the World Cup winner miss as many as 12 games.

It is a further blow to manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, who is under increasing pressure at Old Trafford following a run of six defeats from 12 matches.

He is already without Pogba’s international teammate Raphael Varane, who is recovering from a groin injury.

Marcus Rashford has already withdrawn from the England squad after deciding to instead remain at United to build up his fitness as he continues his comeback following shoulder surgery in the summer.

Manchester United forward Cristiano Ronaldo stated that his side will never give up and will keep improving their games.

The Reds travelled to Italy to face Atalanta in the Champions League as they fell behind twice in the game.

Cristiano Ronaldo scored last in the first half to draw level with the Italian side before the break and also scored a late minute’s goal in the second half to secure a point for his side.

While speaking with media after the game Ronaldo was asked about United going behind early on in northern Italy.

“In the beginning, it was tough,” United no.7 acknowledged, before crediting Tuesday’s opponents, who he faced several times during his own Serie A spell.

“We knew Atalanta will do a lot of pressure. They have a fantastic coach, they know what what to do all the time on the pitch.

“I know, because when I played for Juventus, they were always difficult to play against. But, I think we did our job, we defended well and we had a bit of luck in our hands that I scored a goal but this is football.”

While Atalanta’s two goals were checked with a long VAR check United was questioned about his side’s defending, Ronaldo said: “It’s normal, we have to still improve.

“I say many times: we have different players, different systems, the football is different. We have to adapt with each other. We’ll take time, so in my opinion we have time to improve and be better.”

SportsZidane Not Interested In United’s Job. by Generaloj5(op): 8:31am On Oct 26, 2021
It has been confirmed former Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane is not interested in taking Manchester United job should the Premier League side move part way with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

The French man is one of the candidate tipped for the Old Trafford job in case of the departure of Solskjaer but Zidane is not in a rush to return to managing and is waiting for the right opportunity to emerge.

It has been stated by a source that Solskjaer is fighting to save his job as United manager, with a large number of the squad having lost faith in Norwegian tactician even before Sunday’s 5-0 defeat against Liverpool.

Zidane, 49, left Real Madrid last summer to finish his second stint in charge at the Bernabeu. In his two spells in charge at Madrid, he won a slew of silverware including three Champions League trophies, two LaLiga titles, and two Club World Cup crowns. He also has two European Supercup wins.

“Them two would be the first two on my list, and I’d go all out to go and get them. And then I’d be trying to get people like Jesse Lingard, who’s in and around the Man United squad.’

“It’s unrealistic until you ask the question. I’d be going out there to get answers from these types of players and then you work your way down your list.”

SportsPaul Ince Blast Solskjaer Over Van De Beek. by Generaloj5(op): 11:01am On Oct 11, 2021
Former Manchester United player Paul Ince has blasted Ole Gunner Solskjaer over Donny Van De Beek future.

Van De Beek was one of the best players in Ajax before he signed for United in the summer of 2020.

Since then, the Dutch man have struggled for game time under the Norwegian making three appearances in all competition this season.

Van De Beek loan move to Everton was blocked by Solskjaer as he claims the Dutch man is in his plan.

Paul Ince said : “If I’m going to buy a player, a top player from Ajax, the first thing I’m going to say is, ‘Am I going to play? Where do you see me fitting in, within the system, within the team?’

“As a manager you have two choices – you can either tell the truth or not tell the truth.

“From what I’m seeing for the last year and a half, he’s not told Donny the truth, he hasn’t had any game time. He’s got £35million sitting on the bench.

“I can hold my hands up if I’m on the bench and the team are winning and playing well.

“You can’t tell me that Fred and [Scott] McTominay are playing well week in and week out, and even [Paul] Pogba because they’re not.

“But he seems to play them all the time, and I’m sitting there watching them play, I would be livid.

“He’s been professional, he’s done everything by the book. Ole’s come out saying he’s in my plans, obviously he’s just blatantly lying, he has to move in January for the good of his career.”

SportsAzpilicueta Disappointed In Ref Decision. by Generaloj5(op): 8:22am On Oct 11, 2021
Spain captain Cesar Azpilicueta says he is disappointed in the referee’s decision about Kylian Mbappe’s goal.

The Spanish team found the back of the net first in the 2-1defeat against France in the Nations League final.

Azpilicueta believes that England referee Anthony Tylor should have used his side pitch monitor to check the goal.

The Chelsea defender stated that the referee was supposed to decided but got his decision from an official in the VAR.

“The referee is there to make decisions but I’m more disappointed that the referee who makes the decision isn’t Mr Anthony Taylor, who was here, it’s the one who is in the VAR,” he said.

“The monitor is there to use it. Every time we have meetings with the referees we say the same, and I don’t know why he doesn’t go to the monitor and see by himself if it’s deliberate play or not.

“The offside is very clear and the ref watching the reviews in the office says he can’t play the ball, but I don’t think so.

“I don’t know why the referee on the pitch who feels the pace of the game who can make the decision with the monitor.”

SportsMbappe Goal Should Have Been Ruled Out. by Generaloj5(op): 7:56am On Oct 11, 2021
Jamie Redknapp says that France forward Kylian Mbappe goal in the Nations League final against Spain should have been rule out for offside.

The French team lifted the trophy after coming back from a goal down to beat the Spanish national team after goals from Karim Benzema and Kylian Mbappe.

While speaking after the match Redknapp said that the winner from Mbappe shouldn’t have stood because it was not a back pass.

Redknapp was furious and stated that he doesn’t like the new offside rule and it seems unfair.

He told Sky Sports: “It’s a really hard one to understand because from Spain’s point of view, you’re trying to keep a good line.

“Mbappe has got incredible pace but he gets the timing of his run wrong. It’s the slightest of touches from Garcia.

“What the rules say is that it then becomes a second phase of play but what is Garcia supposed to do? Is he meant to just let it go even though he doesn’t know what’s behind him?

“You can see from the moment Theo Hernandez plays the ball, he’s definitely offside. But because of this delicate touch from Garcia, it’s a new phase of play.

“But for me it isn’t. It’s a really poor interpretation of the rule. I don’t like it and it feels unfair.”

“Obviously, the World Cup is a long way away but… you need regular football,” he said.

“I was so close to going to the Euros and I think obviously it plays a huge part and it’s a big factor. If you’re playing over 20 or 25 games, of course you know you’re knocking on the door so I think it does play a big part in that.

“I’m not doing any harm at the moment – if I keep performing well and doing well you never know what might happen so I keep confident in myself and when I get time on the pitch I’ve got to carry on doing what I’m doing.

“You want to start games. When I’m a sub I’m always ready to play. I’m always ready to be needed when I’m called up.

“It’s one of those things I’m going through at the moment but I think on recent performances hopefully we’ll see a change in the next few weeks.”
