Who came up with the idea that pink is a feminine colour and blue is masculine? Is that what your font colour is meant to show, iice? Can I just point out that you've got purple there and not pink? |
mukina2:LOL. Frowning so hard will make you age faster you know ![]() iice:Ciao ciao Dual Core:Hey DC. I don't know if I like my ice melted. Then it wouldn't be ice anymore, would it? |
mukina2:What? Did you see a ghost? |
iice:Of course I acknowledge your contribution. ![]() Do you want to tell Holythug where I got the poem from? It's up on my blog by the way. This site does not allow me to post the full link, so you'll just have to go there from my profile or google it. |
holythug:iice knows where I got it. |
iice:Bravo! "And where they are reviled, there they stand aloof". holythug:I will tell u what an iice cube is. Four silent angels standing face to face Corners of a facade two and two alike Diamonds in a bracelet with a heart of gold one to the left and to the right two by two they sit Packed in a crystal lattice sculpted out of bronze where they are revered there they stand majestically And where they are reviled, there they stand aloof. iice cube |
Gamine:True. And that is my goal. I have started to invite the guests, etc. All that is left is the minor issue of finding someone to walk the walk. |
iice:Well that was the idea, iice. I need an iice cube, by the way. Can u help? |
Gamine:Next year. And I don't have a girlfriend, non. |
Hey iice How's u? Quick q. Where do you suppose I can find out how to draw a cat - using numbers only? mukina2:Hey look who's online today. If it isn't milady herself. ![]() |
iice:And before you can solve the mystery you have to solve a riddle. ![]() Ok you take care. Same time next time! |
Dual Core:LOL! Who are you wedding? iice:Why did you lose control of your senses? And yes, a pyramid in a labyrinth makes it even better. And harder to find. |
texazzpete:LOL! |
You should know it. I've always been a gentleman. You have too many doors. Are you a labyrinth or a pyramid? ![]() Oh I know what you are. The cause of many a war and peace that precious thing with so many doors and sides reflecting a thousand sunsets I know what you are Twinkle, twinkle star-spangled gem Who can but wonder at your resplendence? I know what you are Regal in very nature, terribly hard, yet irresistible I know what you are You're a diamond with a heart Forgive me, iice. One cannot say when inspiration to write a new thing comes. |
And you're scared that I would come in if you opened the door? LOL Don't worry, I'm a gentleman. I only go where where I'm invited. |
Sagamite:In common law jurisdiction, the term civil right is distinguished from "human rights" or "natural rights". Civil rights are rights that are bestowed by nations on those within their territorial boundaries, while natural or human rights are rights that many scholars claim that individuals have by nature of being born. Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender (LGBT) social movements share related goals of social acceptance of homosexuality, bisexuality, or transgenderism. A commonly stated goal is social equality for LGBT people.**If a particular goverment has declared homosexuality legal and conferred those that practise it with certain rights, such as social equality, then it becomes their civil right. The Magna Carta or "Great Charter" was one of England's first documents containing commitments by a sovereign to his people to respect certain legal rights.“ All human beings are born free and equal in dignity and rights. They are endowed with reason and conscience and should act towards one another in a spirit of brotherhood. ** ref, wikipedia. Would you also so correlate transvestite rights to race rights?Insofar as human rights are the issue, yes. Or compare the rights of paedophiles to the rights of black people?See above |
texazzpete:How very convenient. This was your post no. 2008. |
I understand your sentiment quite clearly, but I still don't get your point. You don't think it's rational to compare "religious" and "gay" rights, especially within the context of this case? Maybe you don't see the meaning of the statement. Ladele's action, or lack of it, which was ultimately excused by the tribunal, was based on her religious conviction. When you juxtapose that with the fact that the rights in question are the rights of two gay people to not be discrimminated against, perhaps you will see its meaning. |
Kobojunkie:What makes it so ridiculous? |
Hey iice. Me's a bit bored. Any diversion? |
Did you notice the spin being put on this by the gay camp? “Doubtless there were those 40 years ago who claimed a moral objection to mixed marriages between those of different ethnic origin,” he saidhttp://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/comment/faith/article3972735.ece And he has a valid point. Interesting. Also this: Condemning the "catastrophic judgement" the National Secular Society said: "This decision appears to show that religious rights trump gay rights and that should leave gay people quaking in their boots."There's got to be a line somewhere between, on the one hand: preserving the rights of gay people as human beings; which rights are inalienable to every other human being, such as freedom of choice and the right to conduct livelihood without fear of discrimmination and, on the other hand: preserving any conflicting rights under the given circumstances to other types of freedom and civility. We will proabably see this line being drawn as a consequence of this case, especially if there is an appeal, or some other judgements are made based on this precedence. And think beyond gay activism and religious rights. Based on this ruling, is it not possible that, say, a person can "legally" terminate another's life; or perhaps decline to provide succour when such would have certainly saved a life, as a result of choice? Just thinking aloud. . . |
Thanks Ib. I'm chewing on this now. I'm wondering what the next step would be, and the possible legal implications of Ladele's choice. |
Sagamite:Where's the link pls? Didn't know about this. |
Ahem! |
OLAADEGBU:And how do you know that? It's not like that was stated explicitly in the account, and you could not have known what David was thinking when he picked up those stones. For all we know, that was just the number of stones he could fit into his sling bag, or it was a random selection. There are a variety of reasons that could be adduced for his choice. I don't see how the first answer of the five Philistine lords and cities is wrong. |
spikedcylinder:This makes you a bookie. The average joe would say "I am contemplating a conundrum similar to reviving schroedinger's cat". |
Acetate anion. Aren't you missing something? You're an anomaly that cannot exist in isolation and nothing more than a convenience - a figment of the imagination. You should be a salt. Go find yourself a cation somewhere. ![]() Of course the best mix is both, but if I had to choose, I'd choose a bookie with a hyperactive imagination. That'll beat streetsmarts everytime. |
ademiller:I am who you think I am, yes. Pls get in touch. |
mukina2:And I am the manager who sells pammy. We make a great team, non? |
pinkflava7:You actually do sound funny. He is different? I really am in love with him? Why do I think I've heard that so many times before? You ignore your parents' concerns about your future life partner at your own risk. Of course they're in the wrong sometimes, you'll only know that for sure after you've taken the dive. |
RedHotChic:LOL. That's because I'm not a girl. ![]() |
RedHotChic:LOL. Not likely. |

The poem is beautiful
