Guy, if you are truthful, post your results like the young girl and we will do follow up.

I am interested in why our excellent students, near geniuses and geniuses are not getting admitted by our good schools in naija, after the students have worked so hard to make elite grades.
OK I will try to do that Bro in fact I once created a topic to that regard but unfortunately, it never got to front page to draw attention maybe because am not a girl. Lol

Did u visit the admission office??
yeah I did and was told someone from my local government scored higher than me and and got it. And I was like what's my own with someone from my local government since we both beat the cutoff besides Cutoff marks are set based on performance of all candidates. All tertiary institutions in Nigeria are corrupt and need to be probed

The truth of the matter is that she isn't the only one in such mess I for instance had310 in jamb and beat the cutoff for med&surg in delsu which is my state but was not offered admission. It's high time all the universities in Nigeria are probed.. Am very sure there are so many of us out there with same problem. I know some people will say go to the school to complain but I know from my time in unizik that going to the school to complain will be futile that is if anyone will even listen to you.

Not entirely true brother. A matriculated std can even re-apply Jamb in same school. Couple of my peeps have done it and many more are doing it. NO MIND JAMB WITH THEIR LOUSY SO CALLED RULES. Which are u now? When did u left, 200L?

yeah stopped after 200 levels but am still in the town sha (ifite).. Have you resumed

Genius how far? Which college u dey?
used to be a zikite but stopped when I couldn't switch.. It's e even more difficult now because a matriculated student of any uni won't be allowed to take jamb meaning you can't be in school and still resit jamb so if u don't like the course you are given, it's better not to accept it if your not sure of your chances of switching because if you do you would have to finish that course before applying for another jamb unlike before where one can be studying a less preferred course and still be writing jamb

Hardeysolution:
Universities are up to the task right now. A lot of aspirants kept on complaining about the screening modalities. Be aware that the Senate of individual schools are saddled with the responsibility to ascertain the screening method. I have be able to follow quite well the screening methods of some major universities apart from those who had their POst utme before the declaration of its cancellation.

This is a period where students will sit back and progress both in utme and ssce. It's a 50:50 allocation. This means it is purely impartial. I will be able to mention some schools and relate it well to how they conducted their screening.

Candidates cry that they pay for online registration when no exam was conducted. Are you aware that some people will handle the screening and there are changes for use of the portal? So why wouldn't you pay? I clearly remember that I advocated for a pegged price which was adopted and a complaint platform which is available. Post Utme was a way of defrauding the people and there could be manipulation. High prices yet not development in the schools? When you write post utme and your ssce is still a factor to consider, then why go for post utme at all? We have got to complain this period because it started this year but next year, there would be a better turnaround.

University of Ilorin

University of Ilorin, the better by far, called for registration and later released admission list. Candidates complain of incredibility. I will say, the mentality we have from the onset that admission is gotten when you are long-legged is what is causing the psychological misunderstanding of the entire process. University of Ilorin admitted students based on merit, catchment and how competitive the course could be. If you applied for engineering course with 200 and c6 you may be dropped but with such score for sociology, you may be admitted.
Meanwhile, supplementary list is not yet out.

University of Lagos
This university kindly called for registration, used a 50:50 jamb ssce ratio. With a 10-9-8-7 scoring system. The result was released then cut off marks then merit list. Interestingly, no much complaints were laid concerning the process except denying Neco students admission. There were laid down rules stating that results released after the deadline will not be acceptable. I will say Unilag screening method was fair enough. Supplementary list still awaited.

University of Ibadan

Though cut off mark is yet to be out so no list yet. University of Ibadan took time before calling candidates which means they were looking for right method to use not to go against the FG directive. The University used 50:50 ratio but WITh 6-5-4-3 Method. This is fair enough but people who couldn't get up to fifty will be disqualified automatically. You should know University of Ibadan is full and strict for being the best university in Nigeria. Quacks can not be admitted. Federal Universities can not accept what state or private Universities accept. Students aspiring for UI, Unilag, Unizik, UNN, OAU, Futa, Funaab, should know they have to over read.

Why should you pass jamb and fail ssce or why should you pass ssce and fail jamb? They are not complementary. That was the case back then when students just want to have at least c6 to qualify.

What will be its effect on malpractice?

Our exam bodies are coming up with anti cheating techniques and I assure you that candidates who PATRIONISE special centres are only wasting time and money as there's nothing like special centres again. A special centre that couldn't produce best WAEC candidate? Or have a subject cancelled? Or have all cancelled? You have reasons to shun special centres and prepare well.
bros you no dey tire ni? you evaded all the questions put forward to you in your thread and you're here again..iranu dey smell

Our education system is in recess, the above system of no postutme is a setback. As seen in the process adopted by UI henceforth, if you have below A1's in your o'level, you should not rejoice over it. Rules are being changed when the game is on. Credit is what the rule started but now it is all about distinctions.

GUYS, GO ALL OUT AND GET REGISTERED IN A MIRACLE CENTER OUR GOVT HAS MADE A1'S A CORE IN SECURING ADMISSION.

In just two years time, our admission process will be purge into further crisis
you're right bro. i don't see this modalities changing anytime soon..but it's really pathetic how someone who already made it with 4 b's, 4 c's and 1A will resit the exam just so as to make A's

saw this post on Facebook and i decided to share it as i'm also greatly affected by the cruelty of this year's admission modalities...lalaa please help move this to front page biko..
Institutions abide by the FG's "No Post UTME" rule but madeadmissions worse. Aspirants were still made to pay forscreenings not conducted, some were asked to travel longdistances, risking their lives at extra expenses, only forsubmission of documents, making the reasons for theabolishment of Post Utme exams to be utterly defeated inthe first place. As if those are not enough, institutions came up withdisheartening admission modalities. Some just releasedadmission lists after collecting aspirants money in the nameof admission screening registration. Their criteria foradmissions remained puzzles to many. Some even releasedresults with no clear information on how the results werearrived at. Some publicized their scoring systems combiningOlevel grades and UTME results of varying proportions.Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife used 70/30 UTME/Olevelwith two subjects' grades in addition to the five relevantsubjects to the chosen courses of study. University of Lagosand University of Ibadan used 50/50 UTME/Olevel withdifferent styles. All these grading systems are contrary to theadmission guidelines obtainable atwww.jamb.gov.ng.The 50/50 scoring system looks just and fair but it's not. Let'sexamine University of Ibadan system (obtainable fromwww.ui.edu.ng). A1-6, B2-5, B3-4, C4-3, C5-2 and C6-1. Fiverelevant Olevel subjects are graded and the total divided by30, then multiplied by 50 give X. UTME score divided by 400,multiplied by 50 gives Y. X+Y gives the aggregate which mustnot be less than 50 for a candidate to be qualified foradmission consideration. Is this actually 50/50?200 UTME score was advertised as the minimum score to beeligible and at least 5 credit passes in either one or twosittings depending on course of study. A candidate with 200in UTME already has 25/50 in UTME but a candidate with C6in all his five required subjects has just 8.3/50 in Olevel.50/50 indeed! A candidate with C5 in his five relevantsubjects and 250 UTME scores has 47.9 as aggregate whichmean he can't be admitted whereas another candidate withB3 in his five relevant subjects and 200 UTME has 58.3 asaggregate and can be admitted. Aspirants with below creditin each of five Olevel subjects have 0/50 in Olevel whileaspirants with UTME scores below 200 can score as high as24.875 on this scoring system. Candidates with two Olevelsittings, even though advertised as allowed, will have thepoints scored from the second result halved before it can beadded. Is this justice coming from the Senate of an ivorytower? The above is just one of the various awkward admissionmodalities employed by our tertiary institutions for thisyear's admission and yet the Federal Government, civilorganizations, National Assembly and the Media had beensilent on this issue affecting about a million of this country's"future leaders". I call on President Muhammadu Buhari'slead administration to see to this as this is the firstadmission that will be fully conducted under the watch of hisgovernment. Is this the change we deserve in the nation'sadmission process?Kindly let something be done in earnest to prevent theseinjustices and impunity. In preparation for next admission, there should be a stakeholder's meeting on admissionprocess, duly publicized and let each institution publish herpeculiar admission guidelines to enable students make thebest choices. Not changing the rules when the game is on.God bless Nigeria.#BRINGBACKOURPOSTUTME#(CBT)

@Greatdre i'm in the same situation with you, i got an o level result of 2006, i'm already a graduate but wanna go again for a second degree, waec isn't credible. My english and C.r.k were being graded with D7 and E8 respectively so i used my neco which was c6 parallel and hence wasn't qualified in this point grading system.
We just have to forward our complaints to jamb boss cos he said that those with good jamb grades that have been denied admission should lay a complaint and the school should give a reasonable reply as to why we are being denied
baba pls how do i channel my complain to the appropriate quarters?delsu want finish my life o... had 310 in jamb 4 med nd surg, even beat the cutoff and wasn't admitted in both merit and 2nd batch

1. D sch never said they were to write ppt exam den reneged to cbt. They ve been ringing d alarm dat it was goin to be cbt frm d beginning.
2. If u tell me someone had 100 in p.utme and 276 in jamb and didnt get admission into medicine, its allowed. same with pharmacy. But mass com Hell no.
3. Dat yr post ume was tricky kinda. Cuz people that failed, failed woefully while people dat passed mostly scored btw 90-100. So, ur friend dat scored 100 in post utme might ve been d 100th person to score within d range of 95-100 of which others had better jamb results. Cuz most times, when u see exam hall of those for medicine, up to 300people can score btw 290 and above whereas d sch admits way below that. So, oga i concure. But for mass com? I fail to believe. Cuz mass com in unizik isnt that competitive to get admitted in. Not in d class of medicine, pharmacy, economics or ECE.
hmm well i understand that you didn't take part in the putme last year hence your point in number 1 above. for avoidance of doubt, pls confirm from those who did because the print out had it that ppt was to be used.i reiterate that unizik admission process last year was a fraud and that was why there were no cutoff marks as opposed to previous years so that those not admitted can't take it up since there's no evidence(cutoff mark)to base their claim on.unizik used to be more transparent in her admission process before the current vc(ahaneku) came in as was reflected in jamb's most preferred institutions where unizik was 2nd last year but has dropped to 5th this year.the system is falling gradually.unizik used to have the second fastest academic calendar as at 3 years ago but has now dropped to 7th behind kwasu, unilorin, delsu, coou.

u know d drill. D sis serve dem fresh lie add sauce join. D unizik i know, once u get above their cut off, u will get admission. Wit that average he wrote, d sis would be admitted in medicine. Talkmore of mass com
well i think there might be truth in what the guy said.last year's putme was a mess and only those who wrote the exam will understand not those who are already students of unizik as they will only try to exonerate or defend their school. firstly, the putme was supposed to be ppt but was changed to cbt a day before the exam even though the school was not prepared to use computers.day one of the exercise was a terrible experience. the candidates were asked to lineup under the sun and even in the rain just to collect seat numbers.as if that was not enough, after the much stress of getting seat numbers, candidates were asked to answer 25 questions in 10 minutes which was the reason for the poor performance as some candidates scored 0,5,10 e. t.c.some didn't even see their result till date. secondly there was nothing like cutoff mark last year at least it was not made known to the public.so one can't tell whether or not they meet or beat the cutoff since it was not published.in order words, it was a case of luck. a friend of mine scored 100 in the putme and 276 in jamb,he is a deltan and was not given medicine.as long as it's last year's exercise, everything was possible.my roomate had 280 in jamb and 76 in putme but was not giving pharmacy.last year admission was fraud.
