Thanks bro the thing is I have to squeeze to get the Mi 9 and I've waited enough I wanted to get the Mi 6 then Mi 8 and now Mi 9 buy don't you think the Mi 8 is still reasonable today or even the Mi 9 se?

Both are okay to be honest, but if you are camera person I will suggest the Mi 9

Trex4:
Sorry 4 The question but I was wondering if the Mi 8 is still a good phone for 2019 or should I just squeeze and get the Mi 9? Or is the Mi 9 se still as good as the Mi 8. Please tell me

If you can afford the Mi 9, please get the Mi 9.

Kenny903:
LOL... One for me, one for the best friend

I'm a noob so I'll have many questions, pls bear with me. Firstly, I can't find any radio app... I'm a radio guy, redmi phones don't come with radio?

Secondly, since the pro is chinese rom, should it not write chinese inform instead of just 10.2 stable?

Redmi phones come with FM radio.

If your selected English as your language it won't write Chinese

Gmajor:

Ramon92:
does this mean I'll just download gcam and install straight up without rooting?

Yes, I posted a link to Redmi 7's GCam yesterday, check some pages back

henry007:
You mean notification LED? Included photos of it here - https://www.nairaland.com/5162996/xiaomi-redmi-note-7-official

Nokia X5 over Redmi 7. What i consider would be their chipset & build quality differences, same HD+ display(less pixels on Redmi 7) and lack of GCAM compatibility on both(abi?). Battery life is surprisingly excellent on the X5 and i'm sure it would be on the Redmi 7 as well so that's a non issue. Fast charging is also a non-issue, the Nokia battery is small.

GCam works on the Redmi 7. It came with Camera2api enabled. It was confirmed by a user here yesterday

Kenny903:
Has anyone used Glo's 4G LTE in Ibadan? What area please? The data plan on an LTE sim, can it be used on a 3G network?

Data plan can be used even on a 2G Network

olayinkajnr:
There's a Nokia Thread where dudes are comparing Nokia X5 to R7 and even RN7.

Even from so called techies.

People get lots to learn o.

No need arguing with the uninformed, they believe whatever they want to believe

jboixxx:

Downloaded one yesterday from xda, I'm yet to fully test it. But it's working well, front and back cam.

Later I'd test other features.

Be patient is all I can say.

OllyFair:
Seriously I don't know the full meaning of Gcam not to even talk of it's functionality. I'm not the camera type. All i want is durable bar3 and meaningful performance.

Don't bother, I have gotten the info needed. Enjoy your new phone to the fullest

Sorry it came late.

Thank you Sir, it sure does support GCam

OllyFair:
Bro I'm using Redmi 7, 3by32. I can say it anyday anytime that Redmi 7 can justify the price compare to other brand. Nothing like application crash or that. The display is fantastic, bar3 is wow can two days without charging. With that 47k Kudos to Xiaomi for this lovely Gadget.

Can you help me check if Camera2api is enabled on the Redmi 7?

You can use Camera2 API Probe Application by march media labs to check, thanks in advance

Ameboperoo:

Yes that is what it means

henry007:
This is the battery beast I know. On WiFi the whole time and Bluetooth for long periods. Tried to send stuff on Xender and set display to NEVER switch off.
Redmi Note 7

My Dad who got the 4/128Gb version last week praised the battery life and he is a first time user. Was impressed with my Note 5 before he got his.

IDC YoY Q1 reports

mindtricks:
Or better still "good" old tecno.

Or the more "premium" Infinix.

lx3as:
One plus(flagship), Oppo(Midrange), Vivo(Budget) are subsidiaries of the same company, BBK, same owner just like Transsion(Tecno, Infinix, itel). That doesn't mean one can't find midrange Vivo phones or midrange One plus but expect high cost for One plus phones.

Oppo is not mid-range, there subsidiary Realme is.

simonjassy:
BBK directly owns Oppo and Vivo, while Oneplus is a subsidiary of Oppo. They also own 2 new smartphone brands Ikoo and Realme.

Oppo can't be classified as mid-range as he stated.
