I will not like to wear an engagement ring for more than 1 year. But it depends of finances. An engagement should lead to marriage and marriage costs money, so sometimes money determines the duration! I think a financial plan between the couple should be in place beofre getting engaged.

I have to agree that some girls tend to overdo it!  But the fact is that the guy should be able to take the girl to a restaurant he can affford and tell the girl when she has ordered too much.  Guys try to be honest about your finances and stop posing.  If you are not rich enough do not attempt to date an ajebutter! Shoe get size! After una go dey complain for NL.

Can one really make a choice?  I want a bit of both, not too ugly and not too poor!  But if I must choose, I will go for looks!

I believe the married men just use the babes. How many of them eventually marry the ladies? True love is rare (if this ever occurs) in this kind of relationship.

I can't be a full time housewife!  I have seen what some widows/divorcees in Naija pass through.  The woman becomes the sole breadwinner, it is not fun starting a career or business when one is advanced in age and without a partner to support you.  One does not pray for evil things to happen but we must be prepared for it when it come.

Money does answereth all things! It pays the bills and keep the kids happy! These days in Nigeria the wife has to support the husband to meet up and of course she has to have something doing incase things go wrong.
