Good one there Tinubu.
One good new thing about Nigeria is the speed with which north and southwest of Nigeria are mixing up. Whatever is the mixer - be it religion or culture or common ancestry - shall make a new country of southwest and north of Nigeria very peaceful.

Before last election, northern leaders participated in nearly every important wedding, naming, funeral and Owambe ceremony in the southwest.

Southwest responded with ditching Goodluck Jonathan.

You are right. I noticed that too....

To all Igbos, do you see what we are telling you that Yorubas are masters to your masters?

The governor left his seat for Tinubu and Akande; that tells you how much we are respected and honoured by Igbos' masters.

I guess dumbass Nigerians will still blame Ndiigbo for secession instead of goons uttering unguarded statements such as the one accredited to Alhaji Junaid Mohmmed. This was the style of unguarded and foolish rhetoric accredited to Bello, Balewa and Akintola in the 60s.

Here the fool comes with victim mentality as usual. Am i surprised ? No. It's(Wailing) an inbuilt endowment.

Why do you fools-Igbos are always of habit of avoiding the first action which attracted a reaction? Reaction happens as a result of actions.

Pls, let's forget about the past history but rather talk about what is happening today and tell me in all honesty if Igbos are not worthless and greedy.

Who dominate Jonathan administration against other regions? Igbos

Did other region threaten Nigeria with secession during Jonathan administration? No

Did Igbos come out to shout marginalisation of others cos whatever you don't like as a person, you wouldn't do to other people

Did he just say Igbos can try secession again if they want? What sort of leaders do we have in this country?
I'm not Igbo but statements like this are better off not made. There's a lot of tension in this country right now and it would've bn better if he didn't reply at all than this

I've said it before that if I were a leader, If rather consult my worst critics on certain issues than surround myself with those that always sing my praise no matter what I do. Buhari has made some moves that are clearly wrong by all standards but these sycophants don't seem to see any.

And history will keep repeating itself.smh
Same sycophants that ruined Jonathan's government have defected to APC today

I've tried to stay away from commenting on politics section but I don't think it's right not to lend my small voice to very sensitive issues

If you love this administration, just tell Buhari the truth even when it hurts. If we don't, then you've collectively set him up to fail.

You and Igbos are the problems of this country when you decided to be quiet about all the atrocities committed by Igbos against other nations within Nigeria. The same Igbos who killed the leaders of other regions in cold blood with their pregnant wives and left all their Igbo active politicians out of this bloody massacre under the pretence of fighting corruption. Did you say anything about that? No

In 2015, why would you kill Buhari(Tafewa Balewa), Governor Oshiomole and Ambode(Okpara) and leave the vice president prof. Osinbajo( Nnamdi Azikiwe) who is an Igbo man and of course Okpara(governor of old eastern region) who was equally an Igbo man? Does that make sense to you?

How do you think others felt? Do you think life is all Igbos?

After this massacre, who became the president? Igbo man called Aguiyi Ironsi. What did he do as a president? He single handedly destroyed our flourishing regional system of government and imposed unitary system of government over us so as to control other regions. They begged this Igbo man; the west and North begged this man but he refused. Guess what? All the Eastern politicians and Kings went quiet during all this period cos he was their son; doing their biddings.

Did you see Aguiyi Ironsi appointments? You ll fall down and die when you see the list filled up with Igbos as if there was no other nationalities in this country except Igbos. You ll see pure tribalism and nepotism at its peak. Northerners would not dare it at that point in time but Igbos broke the jinx.....

What did Aguiyi Ironsi do to his fellow Igbos who were d coupists who carried out the most bloodiest coup in the history of this country? He transferred these massacrists to the East prison against military practice to the shock of the whole world. Do you think others are fools? Do you think others forget history while Igbos remember civil war simply cos they were defeated?

Prior to civil war, Igbos were more active in politics than the Yorubas at federal level and even at regional level with NCNC. Post civil war, Igbos formed another government with the Northerners into early 80s from independence except the period of civil war which lasted for 3yrs.

Having enjoyed Federal appointments and presence in terms of social amenities and basic infrastructure more than any other region in South except the 3 yrs of civil war, the same Igbos are now disturbing others who didn't have the same privilege with marginalisation rhetoric all the time. What an audacity!!!!

Fast forward to 21st century, which tribe held sway under Obasanjo? Igbos. Pls, check Obasanjo kitchen cabinet and ministerial list.

Finally, check what happened under Jonathan, what happened under Jonathan had only happened under another Igbo man in the history of this country. Where were Igbos as at last administration when the whole tenure was filled to capacity with Igbos. I warned them that this is the time to prove to the Northerners that Igbos stand for equality, justice and fairness but instead, they were celebrating the marginalisation of others forgetting that nothing last forever.

What the Bleep abt d civil war they started....

Nobody owns any igbo man anything. Igbos killed as many Nigerians as they can in that war and Nigeria killed as much as she can as a nation. What is the wailing all about? If you can't fight, then stay off war.

All they need is self appraisal to see that they are their own enemies through "life is all about me but nobody".

Pls, go to their region and see how uncosmopolitan they have turned that region to through tribalism. Go to East and see how unaccommodating and unfriendly they are to other nationalities within Nigeria state compare to West and North. The same people who has refused to appoint a single person from other regions into their 5 states cabinets wants to be appointed in other regions of the country. Can you imagine that?

My friend, it's easy peasy for Igbos to leave this country without dropping d blood of their kinsmen if they want to truly leave this country. Let Igbos recall their men from National assembly, pull out all their kinsmen from the West and North to the East. I swear down, the whole world attention would go straight to their agitation for their own region's sovereignty.

bizzle2:
your are so confident in your failure, cumulated annual income/savings aloneeee!!! for the 20 year period is already 480,000....go figure

I made a mistake earlier on but corrected it.

The accumulated savings was #480,000

Here was what I later did if you check my previous post on this topic; the first year accumulated saving was #24,000 with #2880 as earned interest in the first year. The total of this ought to have reflected in my balance for the end of financial year. This balance would then be brought forward or down into a new financial year with 12% annual interest rate.

#24,000 + #2,880= 26,880 balance for the first year

2nd year: Balance b/d is 26,880 with 12% interest rate per annum.
The subsequent savings would be added to this balance at the end of another year and interest would equally be worked out on the balance which give us the interest earned on the balance of 2nd year.

This ll continue to 20yrs.

Thks

You are wrong. You need to add the interest for the first year to get the total saving for that year of =N= 26,880 and then add that to the next year saving and get the interest and continuously like that until 20-year period.

Keep your advice to yourself cos i have mercilessly dealt with the question before your interruption

I'm obliged to disagree with you on this. I think the answer is # 541,700. Can you show your solution pls.

We are both wrong. We failed to carry our first year balance + interest forward to the subsequent year.

We arrived at our answers by calculating our interest on yearly savings without carrying the total figure to the following year.

Here is the solution:

1st year-

Saving #2000 every month

Total annual savings- #24,000

Annual interest on #24,000 is #2880 base on the 12% annual interest rate

Moving to a new financial year, the interest + total saving would be carried forward to another financial year and that would be #26,880

So 2nd year would begin with a balance of #26,880.........

If you continue like this to the last year, your correct and perfect answer is guaranteed

It's interesting to still see the interest of many people at attempting to solve questions on the greatest mental tasking subject -Mathematics. I must confess that the numerous solutions I've seen gladden my heart, although I do not agree with them. Patiently follow the solution.
1) This is a complex form of a Compound Interest question. (Reason: You need to keep on adding the monthly savings he makes per month.)
The mistake from many is to assume a one-time principal.
For clarity, at the end of the first year, the Principal = #2000 x 12 = #24000. 12% interest on this gives 24000 x 0.12 = 2880.
At the end of the 2nd year, the New Principal = (Principal of year 1) + (Savings/principal of year 2) + Interest from year 1 = 24000 +24000 +2880 = 50880. Interest from year 2 = 50880 x 0.12 = 6105.6. At the end of year 3, the New Principal = (year 1 principal) + (year 2 principal) + (year 3 principal) + (Interest from year 2) = 24000 + 24000 + 24000 + 6105.6 = 78105.6. and on and on like that.
As a mathematics student, I computed an analytical equation for this 'progressive compound interest' problem thus.

Amt=yp*(n+((n-1)*x)+((n-2)*x^2)+((n-3)*x^3)+((n-4)*x^4)+((n-5)*x^5)+((n-6)*x^6)+((n-7)*x^7)+((n-cool*x^cool+((n-9)*x^9)+((n-10)*x^10)+((n-11)*x^11)+((n-12)*x^12)+((n-13)*x^13)+((n-14)*x^14)+((n-15)*x^15)+((n-16)*x^16)+((n-17)*x^17)+((n-18)*x^18)+((n-19)*x^19))
yp = yearly savings/principal = #24000,
n = number of years = 20,
x = interest rate per annum = 12% = 0.12,
Amt = Amount at the end of 20 years
Amt = # 541,700.

OR

Amt = 24000 * [20 + 19(0.12) + 18(0.12)^2 + 17(0.12)^3 + 16(0.12)^4 + 15(0.12)^5 +14(0.12)^6 + 13(0.12)^7 + 12(0.12)^8 + 11(0.12)^9 + 10(0.12)^10 + 9(0.12)^11 + 8(0.12)^12 + 7(0.12)^13 + 6(0.12)^14 + 5(0.12)^15 + 4(0.12)^16 + 3(0.12)^17 + 2(0.12)^18 + (0.12)^19]
Amt = # 541,700.

You are almost there.

The answer is #537, 600.

Sir, the man saves #2000 every month for 20 yrs with 12% interest rate per annum.

#2000 × 12=24,000
Calculate your interest on 24,000 and that would give you #2880

2nd yr saving is #48,000 with 12% annual rate and that would equally 2880 ×2=#5670

3rd................All the way to the last year which is 20 yrs.

All his interest for 20yrs comes to a total sum of #57,600

All his saving for 20yrs comes to a total sum of #480,000

#480,000(20yrs accumulated savings) + #57,600( 20yrs total accumulated interest) = 537,600.

It's quite straight forward.
Education / Re: If You Can Solve This Maths, A Financial Institution Should Employ You. by GentleToks(m): 11:46pm On Aug 15, 2015
You are all Olodos

Here we go:

Interest is calculated on his saving per annum and he was saving #2000 every month.

#2000 ×12 months = #24,000(12% interest pa)
This ll give you #2,880 (first year interest)

2nd yr saving is #48,000(12% interest pa)= #5,760

3rd year saving is #72,000(12% interest rate pa)=#8,640

All d way to 20yrs

Then multiply this #2,880 interest of the first year with total years of interest which is 20yrs and what you would get is #57,600 as interest for 20yrs.

Then add the 20yrs total interest to all his saving over that period that is interest receivables + total savings( #57,600 + 480,000=537,600).

Receivables is #537,600.

I could still remember the day we went to Amokwe to see a corp member. Ghosh come see backwardness and underdevelopment. I believe Chime was a failure as a governor because what he succeeded in doing was just to shabbily resurface few existing roads in the urban center. What about industrialization, health, education and overall infrastructural development? Enugu state people should elect a governor that should look beyond mediocrity.

Thank you my sister for coming out to debunk these morons from the land of unrising sun who are surviving on the hospitality of Yorubas in SW. How could you shamelessly claimed that your land is well developed but always run out of the same region at every slightest opportunity to the same SW you called less developed region. What a stupidity!!! It's like a Nigerian telling US citizens that my country-Nigeria is well developed and better than US/UK while he and thousands of other Nigerians are struggling in the same US/UK.

I sometimes asked myself this question "Are they-Igbos talking about the same SE i went to couple of times on wedding invitations or somewhere else?" each time i heard these bigots hyping the same region, I honestly cringed. Why? Cos that region is nothing but a glorified villages.

They all come here and display the pictures of private residential estates and state capital high streets as development in the land of blinds. The funny and amazing thing about Yorubas here on Nairaland is the fact that the Yorubas here didn't tour that path. If i take pictures of Estate in SW......

SE is no go area for me as a person; the whole region look Igboish and nothing cosmopolitan about the whole region as a result of bigotry and tribalism. It was my numerous visits that made me to understand the reason why Foreign investment(FI) is not flying in that region.
