Politics / Re: Uzodimma: Why I Invited Soldiers To Orlu by Geojio: 9:04pm On Feb 19, 2021
So ESN killed over 10 policemen in Orlu only and you are hearing it now?

Is it possible? This is clear case of giving dog a bad name before hanging it. Wish him success but I doubt if he can win this. Even the people he claims to protect don't believe this and it's a problem.

If what the governor is saying is true, then Ipob has turned into a full-blown terrorist organisation. I mean, why else would they be killing police, snatching people's vehicles and even killing their fellow ibos, all in the name of ridding iboland of Fulanis.

He was forced to. He has no option. This is a global position and not ECOWAS that he acts like kingKong there. His candidate cant even have up to 10% of NOI votes. Note you that its Western govt coalition that are pushing for NOI candidacy.

Kudos to the president for this kind gesture. At least, Igbos can now let us rest on this forum. Those among them praying for the downfall of Adesina simply because he’s from the south west can now get preoccupied with praying for their Igbo daughter’s success.

I can also bet nobody will talk about nepotism on this thread. The fact that the president withdrew support from Yonov Agah, a Nigerian from the north central and now supports an Igbo lady should not go unnoticed. If it was the other way round, the fury of hell fire would be a child’s play to what they would bring down tonight. I wish her the best in the election.

Awol1:
To be fair to all, Peter Obi and Osibanjo had a fair contest. Who came out tops will remain a matter of debate.

But for me, the highlight of the debate is the logical positions of Obi and Osibanjo on corruption.

Now I know there are millions of entrepreneurs here, and in using Obi's analogy of a shop, if you had a shop, and it got attacked by thieves, would rather open the shop and keep making money while putting in measures to stop further attacks, or would you close shop and forget about losing customers and go after the thieves?

Personally I do not think that closing shop to pursue criminals is the best of approaches but of course I know people might think otherwise.

So what would be your approach if you had a shop attacked by thieves?

As President Buhari seek reelection into office in 2019, many who had missed the old looting days had hoped that the PDP will bounce back and restart the era of "Share The Money". Even Nigerians who are not too impressed at the rate of fixing the mess the past administration left behind had all been expecting the oppositions to mount a serious issue based campaign to confront the Buhari Administration.

The PDP floated the Young Candidate kite, but abandoned the narrative and settled for an over 70 years. They tried the Atiku being an economic powerhouse returning from Dubia with a Plan - only to discover it is all about selling NNPC and other assets, with outrageous assumptions and figures. Including being a 6 year plan, yet are campaigning against a 3+ efforts. How about kite of Buhari not being Fulani enough, nobody is buying it either. Apart from fully adopting Nnamdi Kanu's treasonable rhetoric, talking points and blueprints, the PDP's latest rallying point is to stampede Mr. President to sign a new Electoral Law barely 2 months to the General Election. The question is why are they exhausting so much energy pushing for it?

President Buhari in 3 occasions has declined to sign the bill, among other issues duly communicated to the National Assembly were; the duplicity and conflicts with existing provisions of the constitution, the insertions that sought to strip INEC's powers to schedule and organize elections. Saraki's efforts to order the elections in a sequence that he can curry favours across party lines when he thought he will be the PDP candidate. Others factors that were raised also included the fact that the 2019 election has also been kick-started based on the current law, so signing the new law will bring conflict in case of dispute - do you judge disagreements with the old or the new law. Trust Nigerians politicians, they will quote the one that favours their case since both played roles in the process.

So, why all of a sudden, the PDP and the Atiku crew are so unhappy with the very same law they have used to run and organize elections for years? Why all the talks that elections will not be considered credible if their new copy is not signed? Why are they pushing for confusion and conflicts on the electoral process? Why all the hate speech, insults and abuse on the person of Mr. President? Why are they bent of spewing hate, provocations, peddling death rumours? When will Atiku and the PDP come out strongly to condemn the shameless acts of their members and supporters wishing Death on the President of Nigeria? Calling him a Clone. Is it how they hope to win the election?

Nigerians must remain vigilant. This is our country. We will do all that it takes to defend it against forces outside and within. The 2019 General Election will come and go - Nigeria will remain and continue on the path of growth. Peace will reign. The will of the People will Prevail.

we need to watch out why atiku want is not talking about restructuring anymore. because we are seeing that his want to build rail and more roads. by this statement there won't be any different from atiku presidency. the same old northerners and former head of states will buy up these assets.

Politics / Re: The Pdp Is The Most Corrupt Party In Africa by Geojio: 3:07am On Nov 18, 2018
computergenius:
THE PDP IS THE MOST CORRUPT PARTY IN AFRICA

We as Africans keep blaming our european colonial masters for african underdevelopment and backwardness many years after the colonial masters have handed over to africans and gone to their own countries. I do not agree with this.

Much of africas problems result from serious endemic corruption, bad governance, disunity and weak insitutions.

I want to start with the problem of corruption which is the biggest problem confronting african states. The problem usually starts from within the political party in power and spreads to other sectors of the country. I want us to list or nominate political parties in africa based on their level of corruption.

I want to nominate the Peoples Democratic Party, a Nigerian political party and one of the largest parties in africa as the most corrupt political party in Africa.

My reasons are:
1. The PDP was in power in Nigeria for fifteen years (1999 to 2015) but there was very little development due to bad governance and massive stealing of public funds.

2. During this period PDP Politicians indulged in careless. Mindless. Massive looting of public funds. (Some people estimate that around $50,000,000,000 was stolen from the country during this period)

3. PDP politicians stole billions of dollars of Oil subsidy funds meant to protect poor people from the effect of rising global oil prices. They became so rich that they bought fleets of private jets for themselves, and large fleets of ships and exotic cars like limousines. They builth massive hotels and organised parties where they gave private jets, ships and exotic cars as gifts to their friends, family, cronies and concubines.

All these were happening while the nation was gradually going broke. Schools were shutdown because the government could no longer pay teachers. Public hospitals had no drugs and doctors ran away to foreign countries and millions of sick people died. Many public universities were crippled by strikes by hungry and angry lecturers.

4 PDP politicians stole billions of dollars of fertilizer subsidy funds and other agriculturer inputs meant to ensure that enough food is produced to feed the nation. The end result was an astronomical increase in the price of food that left the people hungry and angry.

5. PDP politicians colluded with soldiers and police men to steal billions of dollars of funds meant to buy weapons for fighting terrorists organisations such as boko haram.

They colluded with foreigners to defraud the country. They overpaid for fighter jets that were never supplied and paid multiple times. They overpaid for ammunition that were never supplied. They stole soldiers salaries and allowances meant to pay soldiers on the war front who were fighting boko haram. The result was that Nigeria soldiers failed to contain the terrorists. Boko haram killed thousands of people and raped thousands of women. Boko haram caused terrible destruction.

6. They stole the entire pension fund for civil servants including the police pension fund for retired policemen and military men.

7. PDP politicians awarded heavily inflated contracts that often end up as abandoned projects. The result was that national infrastructure deteriorated completely. Bad roads, and collapsing bridges every where.

8. PDP politicians colluded with Workers in the national oil company NNPC to steal billions of naira meant for the maintenance of the refineries and pipelines that carry crude oil.

They used private jets to ferry these stolen monies in billions of dollars and other foreign currencies to bank accounts in foreign countries such as south africa, swazilland, ghana, india, china, russia, dubai etc.

Some people claim that APC is worse than PDP but that is a BIG LIE. The facts are very clear. Corruption in the PDP was so huge that the country fell into a serious financial crisis. It was the APC under Buhari that saved Nigeria from total destruction. In other words PDP politicians were so busy stealing oil subsidy fertilizer subsidy funds and others that they did not see that Nigeria was already on its death knee. It was the APC that rescued nigeria. Billions of dollars of recovered looted funds is evidence of this all gotten from PDP thieves. PDP means poverty to the people.

Tell us the much that is going on agric sector that is much better than what was happening before sir.

The revolution we had recent in agric was led by former minister under GEJ. It was both "earmarkable" and "eyemarkable".

That's he was greeted with int'l appointments, awards and accolades.

Mr Lair Mohammed claimed we have over 12m Nigerians as rice farmers today. Is it not a shameful thing to celebrate. Some countries that had attain self sufficency and even export thousands of tonnes of rice has less than 500k rice farmers.

Most of millions of nigerians who lost their jobs, unemployed, etc decided as last resort to plant rice at the backyard of their homes which most times are less than quarter plot of yards. Are these the people we celebrate as rice farmers?

Today, its an open secret that most smuggling of rice is going on massively unchallenged in most part of Northern border most especially GMB Katsina State.

Most of the local rice bags you see in the markets are smuggled rice that were rebagged. My counsin that deal in rice in Abuja will tell us that even some of the Nigeria rice bags we saw jn their warehouse, some have their adsress as Lagos, Akure, Abakiliki where all supplied from Katsina.

simplyhonest:
there are many areas this government is failing but when it comes to agriculture in general and rice production in particular, I can factually say that the USDA report does not agree with realities on ground... I deal with agricultural produce and products and I can emphatically say that there is a massive turnaround in that sector... we have enough reasons to be angry with PMB but not in the area of rice production.

Politics / Re: Presidency Wants HSBC To Return Nigerian Stolen Assets by Geojio: 8:03pm On Sep 15, 2018
Someone once told us "Abacha did not stole".

Newshelm:
The Presidency wishes to make clear to all Nigerians, and particularly the global banking giant HSBC which said the second term of President Muhammadu Buhari would stunt the economy, that what killed Nigeria’s economy in the past was the unbridled looting of state resources by leaders, the type which was actively supported by HSBC.

A bank that soiled its hand with ‘‘millions of US dollars yet-to-be-recovered Abacha loot’’, and continued until a few months ago to shield the stolen funds of one of the leaders of the Nigerian Senate has no moral right whatsoever to project that a “second term for Mr. Buhari raises the risk of limited economic progress and further fiscal deterioration.”
Rather, we ask them to heed President Buhari’s constant refrain: return our stolen assets, then see how well we will do.

From the facts available to our investigation agencies, HSBC’s put down on President Buhari is no more than an expression of frustration over the administration’s measures put in place which has abolished grand corruption, the type which this bank thrives on in many countries.
They may also just be out to discredit the President out of the fear of sanctions and fines following the national assets that are stolen.
With the coming of President Buhari, it is not a secret that corruption, corrupt individuals, banks and other corporate entities that aided corrupt practices are under investigation for various offenses.

For many of them, including their friends in the media, they would rather have President Buhari out of their way, for business as usual to return.
Our investigation agencies believe that HSBC had laundered more than USD 100,000,000 for the late General Sani Abacha in Jersey, Paris, London and Geneva.

Among these accounts on the records are: AC: S-104460 HSBC Fund Admin Ltd. Jersey ($12,000,000); AC 37060762 HSBC Life (Europe), U.K ($20,000,000) and AC: 38175076 HSBC Bank Plc. U.K ($1,600,000).
The bank is also suspected in the laundering of proceeds of corruption involving more than 50 other Nigerians, including a serving Senator as earlier indicated.

In a book, “Secrecy World: Inside the Panama Papers Investigation”, published in 2017, Jack Bernstein told the story of global money laundering highlighting the unenviable place of the HSBC.

This is a bank that states and federal authorities in the U.S. forced to pay $1.92 billion to settle charges of money laundering; fined $1.2 billion in Hong Kong for “systemic deficiencies” in bond sales and was made to pay $100 million in currency rigging settlement as reported by The Telegraph of 18th January, 2018.

News has shown that saraki betrayed those that decamped with him. It shows Saraki promised them not to contest but suddenly changed after all defection.

This shows that Loyalists of Tambuwal, Kwakwanso and Atiku in the Senate will support APC to Impeach Saraki so as to cut down his wings.

Call Buhari and his goons for what they are FRAUDS.

Saraki called out for not been accountable for N1.50bn constituency PROJECTS.

This is the man who is seriously thinking about becoming the President of Nigeria and his latest fraud is the one of over N1 billion naira.

Anyone who wishes to vote for this man needs to have his head examined.

As at May 2015 our national foreign reserves stood at $28.5 billion with so much oil price being at record highs and as at may 2018 our national foreign reserves stood at $47.7 billion despite our oil prices being very low

If you wish to have the nations reserves depleted again, then saraki or any of the other PDP presidential candidates is your man especially since PDP depleted it so massively in the Jonathan era with so much impunity and tyrannically.

These are facts that cannot be disputed.
