He (Abba Kyari) needs to teach others his tricks or his methods should be made to a practice manual for operations. Of what use is having just one man being so efficient. If he retires or kaputs, then the police is helpless?

PRESS RELEASE
BY NATIONAL LEADERSHIP OF
MIDDLE BELT YOUTH COUNCIL

25th August, 2017,
SECRETARIAT, NIGERIAN UNION OF JOURNALIST, JOS.

Our fellow citizens of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, gentle men of the press, fellow compatriots in the struggle of Middle Belt. We welcome President Mohammadu Buhari to the country from his medical vacation. We pray God to grant him speedy recovery.
Having listened to all voices of people across the country, we have decided to speak up at this point in time.
We, at the Middle Belt region, comprising more than 400 ethnic nationalities want to our dissatisfaction with the level of hate-filled speeches by some misguided groups of people or even government. Every part of the country or group of people has the right to demand for what will protect the interest of its people. This trend of sad development came as a result of government's failure to address some fundamental socio-economic, geographical and political issues challenging our common existence as a nation.

Firstly, the Nigerian government has been so insensitive to the security threats of our people over the years. Ever since the killings of our people started by Fulani herdsmen, Federal Government of Nigeria has never set up a special security committee, to find a way of addressing this existential threat. It only focuses its attention on oil and gas revenue bases in the South and fulfils the political demands of the Arewas at all times. In this regard, the government has shown high level of discrimination against the Middle Belt people and also pretends nothing is happening here. We wish to remind our good friends from the South that they should remain focused on the fight for restructuring other than any cosmetic surgery to our national problem. We urge the Federal Government to immediately set up a Special Expert Security Committee including our communities and the Middle Belt Youth Council to put an end to this menace if it really means tackling it.

The Middle Belt region people will not take a step back on restructuring and will immediately usher in demand for referendum if the restructuring fails. We know that the Arewas are comfortable with the present system because it benefits them more than any part of Nigeria, therefore, they remain an obstacle to it instead of finding a common ground to find a lasting solution to this national problem. Their position has always been, We Say No to this and that in every national discourse. This is not in anyway solving problems but making it worse. We want to inform His Excellency, President Mohammadu Buhari that restructuring is not a decision of the Council of State nor the National Assembly but it is a people's decision. The whole of the South, Middle Belt, and some progressive Far Northerners are fully in support of it. It will even be a credit to Mr President and APC's government if they allow it happen or else it will happen in spite of them.

Similarly, we notice that of recent, Amb. Yahaya Kwande made an unruly statement on Middle Belt which to the best of our knowledge and the country at large, we know that the Middle Belt is more than what he thinks. Possibly he was at Jupiter when Pastor David Lot, Joseph Sarwan Tarka, Gen. TY Danjuma, Air Commodore Dan Suleiman down to Solomon Daushep Lar of blessed memories of the deceased three, stood up for the interest of our people who have been oppressed and marginalised by the north in which he has been a partaker in the process. We want to assure him that Middle Belt exists differently from the north and there's nothing like monolithic North. We have lost him and elder Paul Unongo to the Arewas and they can never represent Middle Belt anywhere. They have lost the script long ago and therefore they are not relevant in the Middle Belt not even among the Arewas. While they continue been the mere "winning tool", we want to assure them that the "tool" cannot work on our generation.

Given the waves of agitations all over the country, we urge the Federal Government to douse these tensions through dialogue not by using its might on dissenting voices like the IPOB and any other group. Dialogue should be the only way out. Dialogue does not mean cowardice or submitting its Sovereign powers but a way of engaging aggrieved parties with the system who have lost confidence and trust in it. Today maybe IPOB, tomorrow maybe another group worst than that.

We also call on the Senior Special Adviser to the President, Garba Shehu, to immediately withdraw his

statement on rodents taking over the Office of the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. We're not in a zoo that animals can live in the State House. This comment has brought national and international shame and embarrassment to our country.

Finally, we are aware that the 1999 Constitution tactically prohibits negotiating the unity of this country, but, having seen what and how this country is over the years, we want to state here that Nigeria has now finally come to the brink of renegotiation. It's better we define our terms of existence in unity by national consensus than imposition which will only degenerate into serious national problems.

Long life Federal Republic of Nigeria

Long life the Middle Belt

Politics / 12 Things Buhari Said After Signing 2016 Budget by georgieporgie(m): 12:55pm On May 07, 2016
It is no longer news that President Muhammadu Buhari has signed the 2016 budget into power. But the statement made by the Nigerian leader afterwards are quite key.

The signing of the budget had been anticipated by Nigerians who have described the president as a very slow individual who has no serious plans for the country.
But after signing the 2016 budget, the president addressed Nigerians on how he feels after signing the document.

Below are 12 key things he said after assenting the budget:

1. It gives me great pleasure today to sign the first full-year budget of this administration into law. I thank the leadership of the National Assembly, in particular, the Senate President and the Speaker of the House of Representatives, and indeed all members of the National Assembly for their cooperation in making this a reality.

2. The budget is intended to signpost a renewal of our commitment to restoring the budget as a serious article of faith with the Nigerian people. This Administration is committed to ensuring that henceforth the annual appropriation bill is presented to the National Assembly in time for the passage of the Act before the beginning of the fiscal year.

3. Through the 2016 budget, aptly titled “Budget of Change’’, the government seeks to fulfill its own side of the social contract. The Budget I have signed into law provides for aggregate expenditures of N6.06trn. Further details of the approved budget, as well as our Strategic Implementation Plan for the 2016 budget, will be provided by the honourable Minister of Budget and National Planning.4. I shall be speaking in more details about the Budget, its implementation and the over-all national economic and social policies of the Government in my address on May 29th, God willing.

5. In designing the 2016 budget, we made a deliberate choice to pursue an expansionary fiscal policy despite the huge decline in government revenues from crude oil exports. This is why we decided to enlarge the budget deficit at this time, to be financed principally through foreign and domestic borrowings. All borrowings will however be applied towards growth-enhancing capital expenditures.

6. The signing of the budget today will trigger concerted efforts to reflate the Nigerian economy, a key element of which is an immediate injection of N350bn into the economy by way of capital projects. To illustrate our renewed commitment to infrastructural development, the 2016 budget allocates over N200bn to road construction as against a paltry N18bn allocated for same purpose in the 2015 budget.

7. Despite the current difficulties we will work extra-hard to achieve our revenue projections. Our revenue generating agencies are coming under better management and are being re-oriented. The implementation of the Treasury single account (TSA) is expected to contribute significantly to improving transparency over government revenues.

8. Our determined fight against corruption is resulting in improvements in the quality of public expenditure. The work of the Efficiency Unit, as well as other public financial management initiatives, are also contributing in this regard. The continuing efforts to reduce recurrent expenditures should hopefully free up more funds for capital expenditure in 2017 and beyond.

9. As I said in my New Year message, living in State House does not in any way alienate me from your daily struggles. I read the newspapers and listen to the TV and radio news. I hear your cries. I share your pains.

10. We are experiencing probably the toughest economic times in the history of our Nation. I want to commend the sacrifice, resilience and toughness of all Nigerians young and old who have despite the hardships continued to have hope and confidence of a great future for Nigerians. But permit me to say that this government is also like none other. We are absolutely committed to changing the structure of the Nigerian economy once and for all.

11.We are working night and day to diversify the economy so that we never again have to rely on one commodity to survive as a country. So that we can produce the food we eat, make our own textiles, produce most of the things we use. We intend to create the environment for our young peoples to be able to innovate and create jobs through technology.

12. I cannot promise you that this will be an easy journey, but in the interest of so much and so many we must tread this difficult path. I can assure you that this government you have freely elected will work with honesty and dedication, day and night to ensure that our country prospers and that the prosperity benefits all Nigerians. God bless Federal Republic of Nigeria.
Career / 7 Habits Of Highly Respected People That Is Worth Mirroring by georgieporgie(m): 5:31pm On May 05, 2016
1. accessibility
Highly respected people are often down-to-earth. They know that respect might elevate you, but you find it on the ground. Those people are truly accessible. Instead of building walls of elitism around themselves, they build bridges. Without being accessible it's really hard to earn respect. When boss gets out of the office to talk to the staff, listen to their ideas and complains - it makes a difference.
2. Appreciation
saying "thank you" takes only few seconds, but only few people prefer to do this. Showing your gratitude is one of the most important habits you can cultivate. Even if your appreciation goes unnoticed it still matters, not only for people you're grateful to, but to yourself as well. A lot of famous and respected people start their day with thanking life for what they have. Maybe we should try too?
3. Passion
Did you heard the saying that those who stand for nothing fall for everything? Giving up your beliefs and chanting your opinion every time is the best way to lose respect.Respected people are those who appreciate other people's opinion, but always follow their hearts
4. Acknowledge
Remember how Princess Diana engaged with every person from poor to elite? She always saidthat everyone deserves to be valued. When respected person enters the room with a dozen people where she/he only knows a few, this person will shake hands with everyone. This is what acknowledgment means.
5. Tact
Accepting criticism or negative feedback might be difficult. But highly respected people always respond to negatives without offending anyone. It doesn't matter how offended you are, you must not fall to their level.
6. Consistency
Respect is like a tree. It doesn't grow in one night. People who've already earned it - they know it well. And they are consistent on getting better and achieving their goals.
7. Fulfillment
Respected people let their actions do the talking. They always deliver their promises. Saying one thing and doing another is not the best way to earn respect. If you want to be respected you need to make sure your life reflects what you preach. Remember that the talk is cheap.

Politics / Financial Recklessness Of The 8th NASS by georgieporgie(m): 10:49pm On Aug 17, 2015
8th NASS:
Sitting ~ 15 days
Recess ~ 12 weeks
109 senators ~N36.4m each; 360 Reps ~N25m each
Total Amt ~ N13bn
Bills Passed ~ 0
Could this be real?
If true in a country of N18,000 minimum wage, isn't it another type of corruption?
War against corruption should address this unfairness to the nation.
